I just joined the Home Shield Contract Several Month's ago. And boy was I Lucky I had to use them 2 times already. The first time My AC went out and they had Somebody out the Next day, and He Fixed it in a short period of time a couple hours. And I paid the $100. service call and I did not have to Spend another Dime, and it works Like New. So I am Very Happy with them!

I began my experiences with AHS in Southern California in the 1970's and they were phenomenal through the decades I had them. When we bought this house in Texas the AHS program was part of the sale. I was less than impressed and I switched to two different companies. When AHS contacted me to return to them this past winter I was hesitant. Since the other two companies were not what I'd hoped they'd be, I decided to give AHS one last go. This time, months later, we had a major plumbing problem and AHS sent several companies out to check it. I wasn't trusting them and asked to have my own plumber who instantly knew exactly what we needed. AHS did pay their portion of the negotiated repairs. Not the entire amount but enough for me to be satisfied. For now, so long as they remain as responsive as they've been this year, I will happily stay with them. It is reassuring to know that they actually will cover major repairs. Their prices are competitive as well. One company I was with made us pay out of pocket for a relatively late model water heater, then submit the invoice to them. Their rate of reimbursement was a huge disappointment. It is too bad that AHS now has their customer service department outsourced in a faraway foreign country and it does take some extra time getting them to realize what the issues are if the repair is a complicated one. For the normal everyday repairs this works out just fine. We actually did get to speak with a local representative when we decided to stay with them. It is nice to know that they do exist...you just have to be persistent to get to them if your situations warrants it.

I live in an area with limited business resources, between two major cities with many resources. Trying to find a provider for needed repairs is cumbersome. American Home Shield has access to providers that will service my area, saving me time, and they have covered several needed repairs with only the deductible out of pocket at the time of service. I am very pleased with the coverage.

I called about a problem I'm having with my laptop. Before I added the electronics coverage, I asked if service was provided in house - I was told Yes. When I called I was told that I would receive a box in 5 days to mail my laptop to them, and that I should remove any login pasword, and backup my computer prior to shipping it since their actions could result in loss of some or all of my data. Since my computer won't boot, none of this was possible. I cancelled my claim and called AHW to express my opinion about this service. After 2 hours on the phone, being transferred from person to person, I was told that I could not file a complaint with AMW about the eletronics warrenty/policy since you didn't service electronics. However, I pay YOU for the electronics coverage, and YOU contract for this service to a 2nd party. If one of you customers has an issue with this 2nd party, YOU should be informed about it.

All of our home repair issues have been successfully resolved by American Home Shield. The techs have been knowledgeable and capable and nice. The biggest negative is that service takes longer to be scheduled than if hiring service normally, and our dishwasher replacement took a very long time. However, we think that is to be expected for home warranty service. The main thing is that repairs have been successful. I love the website and the ease with which to put it a service request (no more holding on the phone!) and it seems that they are all the time trying to improve their processes.

Great home warranty company. In fact, the best after doing months of research and being with them now for 4 years. Overall, you won't find a better home warranty company for the services and pricing. Yes, sometimes it takes longer than I would like for service people to be dispatched from their network of companies, but we are spoiled these days with everything given to or delivered to us within a few hours or a day. Yes, they could contract out with more service companies to lessen the time. Hopefully, they will.

My water heater just gave out and I’d installed upstairs in a bedroom closet. AHS sent a technician to replace. Since it was upstairs the technician had to get authorization for out of scope work. That process took 3 days for approval. There was an additional charge due to the placement of the water heater and the was it was installed. The charge in my opinion was reasonable and justified I just wish it didn’t take 3 days for the approval process.

Almost all my interactions have been very good. They were easy to pay and fast to get someone out. Had difficulty with two but were both resolved in the end. I was out of a fridge for over two months which is a little absurd considering it was the first repair company that damaged my fridge beyond repair when it needed an easy fix. Then the amount I was reimbursed was not enough to get one of equal so I had to apply for a Lowe’s credit card to pay the $484 difference. And I got a very off brand, nothing as good as my kenmore, and I’ve already had two problems with the 8 month old fridge. Having a family of six living out of ice chests for that long is unacceptable. Especially during school months for my kids’ meals and snacks. That was the worst out of six. The other five were top notch though. Would still, and do recommend, but suggest the company do some follow up on the maintenance contractors in instances like this that kind of screw the homeowner. I loved my fridge and it was top of the line. Now I had to come out of pocket over $500 and have bottom of the line.

Generally speaking, my experience has been very positive. I have had a number of items replaced under warranty. If not in need of a replacement, the service requests occur promptly. The operators work with me if I have specific contractor request. Opportunity with having enough reps to address items that require phone communication. Off shore employees often struggle with English, presumably why that is a survey question every time I take it.

The plumber arrived courtesy of AHS, asked several vital questions, produced a machine on wheels into the courtyard, found the electrical outlet outside, and began to remove the problem (which was a stoppage of water preventing the dishwasher from functioning). I thought it would be a mess indoors but accomplishing the resolution outdoors enabled the machine to break the log jam in 30 minutes. Success!! and cleanliness prevailed. I thought it was the dish washing unit, but it was not broken, just fixed!

I've had to 3 appliance (range, refrigerator, washer) issues that needed services. Two out of the three could be serviced under my contract. The range couldn't because a rodent had chewed through the wiring, but the other issues were handled. The rodent issue wasn't covered. My washer couldn't be repaired, so it was replaced. The refrigeraor has had to be serviced three times but seems to working now.

The company that AHS sent to work on our HVAC was excellent. We had called another company first… thinking we had an emergency! We quickly figured out that that guy was going to sell us a whole new system so we called AHS and got an honest person to take a look. Big difference!!! Their expert identified our problem immediately and fixed it. It cost us $75. The alternative would have cost us $13,000!

I have had AHS for about 27 yrs. it has been a life saver time and time again. I’ve heard horror stories about home warranties but I can honestly say AHS is the best. I have only used American Home Shield once in the 3 years I have had it. The service was very quick. There are two thing I would suggest that would make using a home warranty more worth wile. First the company used for appliance repairs, has their employees use their own phones to contact customers and for older customers, if they don’t recognize a phone number, they many times block it. The other suggestion I would make is that American Home Shield should offer an insentive for customers who don’t use their American Home Shield by offering some sort of service if account is not used regularly.

My AC broke and this was my first time having to file a claim. The AHS website was extremely easy to navigate and i was able to file my claim and be assigned a repair service quickly. They were able to come out within 2 days to fix my AC. My AC started working again right away so we thought the problem was resolved but within 4 hours from them leaving it stopped working again. The AHS website was easy to set a follow up appointment with the repair service and they were able to come back out quickly and fix the real problem at no extra charge.

While clearing a blockage in my drain, I was informed by a local plumber that my pipes were corroded and was leaking under my home. I filed a claim online at AHS and I received a call from their local partnering plumber within 24 hours for a next day appointment to assess the services needed. The following day, the corroded section was replaced within 1.5hours. The technicians were fast and professional!

This year good...last year 2020 stressful coverage for plumber..when I called in to your customer service I was told that my outdoor water turn o /off valve up against house was covered..Ht eplu.ber assigned but whe they got to house I was told it was not covered by home warranty and had to pay 300$.I was very upset and when I called home warranty back had to go through several people..could not get supervisor and the representatives were difficult to understand and I had to repeat situation several ti.es. Was given some addresses but I was sooo stressed from this and couldnt deal with you people. So I lost out of 300$ because your representing gave me false information

The experience was excellent. We kept losing power on a Sunday and the first assigned electrician wasn't in the office, so the rep called each one on the list until one answered. The electrician called us immediately to get us scheduled first thing in the morning. They came out and worked hard to get us back up and running very quickly - within hours of diagnosing the issue. The part wasn't readily available, so they drove a couple of towns over to get us the part. Overall it was a great experience and we were very thankful to have Home Shield.

THE BEST! AHS has covered 3 homes for me for about 10 years. When I really needed them, they had not only repaired but REPLACED major appliances. My wife manage over 30 properties for several investors who use other home warranties. It's like a nightmare getting timely service. Getting nonrefundable items replaced is like putting teeth. AHS is the way to go!

Had to use AHS twice. First repair was a nightmare involving a mini split AC . Not caused by them but manufacturer and numberous atempts to repair. The second involved a dishwasher. Have to say response was impressive. Had an appointment with a tech the same day. he arrived on time, was professional, courteous and fixed the issue in a minimal amount of time.

Water was gushing under our sink and at first we thought it coming from the dishwasher.It was late in the evening. I made a service appointment for the following afternoon. The service men came in identified the problem and replaced the garbage disposal, the source of the sink flood. They were on time, professional, polite and efficient. My daughter. Who lives in NJ, purchased American Home Shield on my recommendation when she purchased her home. I would not have urged her to get this protection if I wasn't a satisfied customer.

It's worth the money! We recently bought a new home with all high end kitchen equipment but a few months after we moved in one by one these things began to fail. Fridge, range, dish washer , microwave ac etc. What a blessing to have this great coverage! Thousands of dollars saved and it only cost me $75 for a service call in each of these instances! In the past 5 yrs, I have had a brand new A/C, brand new HVAC, Dishwahser and a new sump pump ! So , I would strongly urge folks to have the peace of mind and invest in safeguarding your biggest investment , your home! The customer service folks are very helpful, the vendors are all experienced and turnaround timentoncompletenthe job is usually week or two but is driven by the problem.

I have been very pleased with customer service. The only problem we have run into is getting an air conditioning unit in the summertime, but I’m sure it’s very difficult for everyone. It’s taking a long time to get all the approval, my family has been without air conditioning for one month. That we finally got the ball rolling and hopefully will have a new unit soon! The only other experience is a leaky faucet. The service call was very quick, Ordering a faucet took about a week and then about another few days to get it installed. Overall I’m very pleased, just wish that the air conditioning unit did not take so long to get approved and installed.

Service has improved greatly over the last 4 years. When began with AHS, a hold to speak to someone was typically over 45 minutes. Contractors have been very good. Only have had about 3-4 calls per year but much improved. The last 2 years, the premiums have increased greatly. I have called to speak to a rep about it. Last year, they offered a $125 discount after calling. They then charged entire amount on credit card. Had to call and plead to honor the verbal amount they agreed to. After 2 weeks, they credited my credit card. This year, exactly the same situation. I called. Offered $75 discount on premium. They then charged entire amount to credit card. Had to call back and plead again to honor the verbal amount agree upon. Hence, two years in a row the phone reps didn't charge what agreed upon.

The first provided service company scheduled a visit on Friday after the call to AHS on Thursday---Then the company did not came to fix the stopped up kitchen sink on Friday but called and informed us that they only provided the service on Fridays and therefore we would have to wait a week until the next Friday. After several calls and much frustration a different company was assigned for the problem. The second company was able to come on Saturday and did an excellent job in resolving the stoppage problem.

The service is great. Your processes are well honed. I've had to use the service about three times. I make a call or go online file the request and my job is done. Then within minutes, I get my appointment time with the service person and it's always within a day or two. No down time dealing with the problem. And the service people that come are always excellent.

Majority of the time AHS did fine however, the extended time of replacing my dishwasher was totally different. It took from 4/17/21 THRU to 6/25/21 to get it replaced. Records will show I called AHS DAILY . Customer Service was horrible . They would tell me to wait until the process was completed . I was told the authorization dept. had the request and they couldn't help me. Some said.they would call me back but never did. That was an awful time.Now, not everyonee in the customer service was terrible. The last one I talked To did all the work and got the authorization. I'm in my middle 70;s and was very upset because no one wanted to help me.

They always take care of any thing that breaks down in my home recently my air conditioner went out my wife has stage four cancer they got each part but more parts broke down they just replaced it the only thing I suggest is they should of given us a air conditioner just to stay cool that's the type of company I like just like with your cars the insurance people give you a loaner American Homeshield should do that as well

My air conditioning was not working and it was very warm -- 85 degrees plus outside. I submitted a claim and within 1 day the repairman came and it was luckily a simple fix for him. He told me himself how great American Home Shield is-- they don't argue with him over costs when something is clearly needed. This was my first claim and I'm very satisfied.

Their coverage in writing; is a very decent policy. And we have had two issues. And they will make it right in the end. But in some cases the response time that it takes to set up repair appointments, clearing the approval for said repairs through American home shield, and then making the necessary rescheduled repairs can be a bit more slow than you can afford to be down on the particular appliance. A home air conditioned system is one said such appliance. Their needs to be a faster way to streamline the process of repair or replace. All else being said; they have been very decent people to work with.

Well, we have had good luck with them fixing things. My problem was this time when we signed up the person didn't go over the coverages well. First never told me about the electronics coverage. I saw that on an advertisement. Called to add it, complete hassle to add it. Second, never told me about using their people for general maintenance on our HVAC and I get one free inspection tune up a year. Called the person that was listed on the furnace of our new home. Didn't do it right and had to pay AHS people for a service call and do what the person i called to do. I know AHS contractor fixed the issue but it was covered and i would have used them anyway if I knew. Selling 101 educate your customers and your people providing the services.

They've been great to work with over the many years we've had them. They've been out to fix things from the in ground pool pump to replacing glass 5 burner stove top and a top of the line refrigerator. As a former Realtor I had many customers who used American Home Shield. I never received anything but thanks for suggesting that they consider a home warranty with their purchase or sale. It's an investment in their future. Just like any insurance. There when you need it.

My garage door started acting strange. I called AHS and they immediately set me up with a specialist that called me in less than an hour. They came the next day and took care of the problem. Without AHS I probably would have wasted a lot of time and money trying to get my issue resolved. I have been a customer with them for about 6 years now. I'm glad I signed up for AHS Coverage.

The service companies provided are not always highly qualified. I dealt with a ridiculous AC repair company multiple times that was sent by AHS. Finally I chose to pay extra out of pocket to have a brand new unit installed. Fast forward two years and it stopped working. I'm happy to see AHS is using a new company (they were great) but frustrated that the other company had to go out of business for a new one to be chosen. The previous company had horror story review after review. They completely screwed the install on my new unit- that's what led to the latest repairs being needed. I'm thankful that the new company was able to correct the mistakes and hope it hasn't caused any long term damage. My hope is that AHS finds affordable, but excellent quality repair companies to work with moving forward.

I was referred to one pool company that said they no longer work with AHS then I I was referred to upland Pool Supply to help us repair our pool filter. I was waiting for the repairman to show up and left my side gate unlocked. He came in took a couple of pictures of the filter and never communicated with me. I did not hear anything for over a week and I connected them. It took almost 2 weeks for them to get a new lid and gauge for our filter. In the mean time I rented a portable pool pump with filter so our pool would not turn green. The repair went well and the repairman, Christian , also cleaned our pool. He mentioned he had a side business where he cleaned pools. So far impressed by him I hired him and gave him a check covering a month's service for our pool. He showed up about a week later and cleaned out pool and showed up one more time after I called to see if he was coming. He came and left saying he was going to pick some pool supplies to clean our pool. That was it we never heard from him again.

AHS is awesome but their contractors not so much. Have had great experiences but having one now that's troublesome. Put in for service on my AC on 6-13-21, Fast Response set appt for the 16th, when they came out unit was frozen so after staying around 10 mins, said they would be back when thawed. Have talked to both Fast Response and AHS, next scheduled day is now 6-23-21. I feel that is horrible service. Should have been on the service schedule for the next day. It is now in the 90's and i have fans trying to keep cool. Thankful I am a patient person. Again satified with AHS just not with Fast Response some. put in for service on my AC

My experience with American Home Shield has been excellent. Yes, one summer my air conditioning went out, and although the first company to diagnose and replace the unit did not provide the correct unit. Suffice it to say, it was a long summer, and AHS stood behind its warranty and my unit was replaced. With all other calls, I have found the contractors to be knowledgeable, professional and solve the issues. I would not be without AHS.

I submitted a work request on my air conditioner on line and I received a confirmation within 10 minutes. I was told a service representative would contact me within 24 hours. I received a call from the technician in 10 minutes saying he was in the area and would be there in 10 minutes. He arrived on time and diagnosed the problem replaced the part and was done in 30 minutes. excellent service.

American Home Shield has covered parts for my water heater and air conditioning unit. Every time I got service appointments within a day of making my claim. The claim process is easy, their rates are reasonable and their staff is professional. Overall I would recommend AHS in every way. They bring a sense of security for when things go wrong and they cover so many things.

You pay very little for any and every brake down Home Shield covers. The sub contractors are truly professional, even when dispatched to a product they are not authorized to repair. My recent experience with my Florida water to air heat pump is a classic example.The technician advised me upon arrival that he was heating and cooling trained, but never worked on a geo thermal unit. Fortunately the unit was intermittent and has worked fine for the past week. I have used this companyy for major appliance repairs in the past and both times the diagnostics and repairs were flawless.

Working with AHS has been so much better than I ever expected. The immense stress of having something breakdown is greatly reduced. I only had one incident happens during that was with my pool. I had listed many items as far as outdoors including my pool. When something happened with my pool I was told it wasn't noted in the contract. I missed it in my review of contract. I wasn't allowed to add it and had to wait until the anniversary of my contract. Other then that, all has been good.

I was tempted to rate three because of an unresolved issue which I've experienced for first time and in all my 25 years with them, but will rate four. I hope it has nothing to do with the Reps who are usually nice. Also because of their introduction of yearly contract number change which prevents you from having past and present access to your account. There is one customer number in every company I'm associated with so why do we have to have new contracts number every year? I've been unable to get into my online account. And I guess I've lost my history with this company. New policy is very disappointing.

I had a Pluming problem, and they didn't fix it right the first time, I had to call AHS to send them back. My drip pan on my AC leaked over it had a bad sensor, again it still didn't work right, they had to return. What really upset me was it stained my celling, and AHS would not pay to replace the insulation that got wet, nor would they paint my celling either, that was caused from the drip pan sensor, caused the drip pan to overflow.

They have always sent technicians when I have a problem with an appliance. It is usually the next day. No questions asked. Sometimes it takes awhile to get the part, but they call when it arrives and come out the next day. The appliances that have needed repairs are older models, so I expect it to take some time to locate the part. The technicians are very good about keeping the area clean before leaving.
