THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD. I LEFT 2 OTHER COMPANIES PRIOR AND THEY ARE HORRIBLE AND MY FAMILY HAS BEEN FREEZING SINCE THURSDAY ! THE CONTRACTOR TRIED TALKING TO THEM AND HAD TO WAIT AN HOUR FOR THEM TO ANSWER AND THEY CAN'T FIX IT AND REFUSE TO REPLACE IT! MY FATHER IS 84 AND I HAVE PNEUMONIA AND I HAVE ANIMALS AND THEY DO NOT CARE!
I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH ANOTHER HOME WARRANTY COMPANY IT IS ALL A SCAM! AND THEY STILL WANT TO COLLECT THEIR DEDUCTIBLE FOR SERVICES NOT RENDERED! I WILL BE CANCELING ASAP!!! AND TELLING MY OTHER FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO HURRY AND DO THE SAME! THEY ARE HEARTLESS AND ONLY WANT MONEY!!!

Can’t believe I am taking the time to comment here , they’re are a Pyramid scam , that don’t cover any high cost fixes , they will only fix things for a few hundred dollars , they are a profit based buisness in the swamp of NJ , scamming people PLEase do your self a favor and go with some one else (but beware they all are sharks )

Had a cook top with a bad coil the technician had to literally beg them to approve the fix as the tech said they were trying there best to deny the claim on non maintenance of the coil, what ??
I have a Maintenace plan for my Hvac unit where a tech comes 2 times a year to clean and replace filters etc , my compressor gave out eventually , Choice home flat out refused to fix the issue saying the unit is too old and won’t be covered , and also that the unit was not maintained, when I gave this information to the tech who I have the contract with he called them and sled them what they were talking about they told him that even though he maintained the units they will not cover the Hvac because of age
THEY WILL NOT FIX ANY HVAC !!! Or Anything Product OvEr 500 dollars , !!! Don’t get fooled with positive comments they are either fake or less than 500 dollars . me and my Hvac technician will be taking them to court

Starting with one sentence "Ridiculous service and bluffing the customers".
I am a customer for last one year and had any issue with my appliances, and last week my Dishwasher stopped working and showing the continuous LED blinking. So raised service request with Choice Home Warranty, immediately they assigned a technician and the technician just opened the main controlling board of DishWasher and saw only one roach and confirmed that board is not working due to "Moisture and Bugs". and on the next day got response as per terms moisture and Bugs, they are not going to repair the device. So, I asked them two q's:
1. IF there is any moisture, why the board didnt burnt( or indications of burnt), and there is no sign of moisture(during the visit of technician I was standing next to him).
2. When they claim that due to bugs, why there is no bugs nest or dead bugs(how technician decided based on seeing only one live bug) on the board.
And without showing proofs, how can they reject my claim.
After a lot discussions, they said they will repair the device with the cost of 300$ but I need to bare 150$, initially requested to waive of but they didnt, and later i agreed to that. After some time, when I did a R&D over the internet the motherboard costs 138$ in amazon and the brand new device(same model) costs 329$. I gave these two information to Choice Home Warranty to reconsider, but they still asking me to pay 150$, saying they total repair cost is going to be above 300$.

Giving 1 star...believe me i didn't even want to give them 1 star.....they are a rip off.....they lie to you when selling the policy....my exhaust fan in the kitchen broke down and they sent a technician to fix it and then after charging me the service fee they said they will not cover it as policy does not cover it...well when i requested a technician, didn't they know policy does not cover kitchen exhaust? the policy does not exclude kitchen exhaust/vent and has no mention in the policy and hence they deny the claim....The claims department is so rude and unresponsive....it's been now 5 days and i have not heard from them...For sure i'm going to change my home insurance company......now i know why most of the reviews have only 1 star for Choice home warranty......i'm looking for an ombudsman to make a formal complain on Choice home warranty.....i will never recommend them to anyone and suggest to stay away from them

Do not use this company. They are fraud. I put a claim, first claim to repair my dishwasher, they sent a tech and the tech told of two things needing replacement, we talked about 15 minutes of the issues, and what he did, he put a report completely different to what he told me. Then Choice Warranty closed my claim without been resolved and opened a new claim without my consent to send a plumber because the tech lied and told them that the issue was a clog on the piping and the dishwasher was okay. I spent several hours trying to resolved the issue and Choice was trying to charge another $65 for the new claim. This is their game to send you multiple people and charge you numerous times for the service calls. DO NOT USE THEM.

My name is Gary from Chandler, Arizona. I bought a policy from Choice Home Warranty for one year. The compressor of one of my AC started making noise after 2 1/2 months of starting the policy. It happened during the summer hot days in Arizona. I called to report the issue. The AC technician came in within two days. I wasn’t at home. I talked to him over the phone and told him the issue. He spent about an hour and call me to tell me that the compressor is bad and need replacement. He will call the Insurrance company to report the issue and request authorization. The technician stole the capacitor to prevent me from keeping the AC running. I requested the technician to come back and reinstall the capacitor but he refused and claimed it may cause fire and he didn’t want to be liable for it. The insurance company refused to fixed the AC and told me this was a pre-existing condition and it is not covered by the policy. I disagreed with the conclusion and demanded the repair. Eventually, one their manager offered me $200 instead of $1800 the cost of repairing it. I gave up knowing that they will not fix it. I accepted the $200. It took 6 weeks for the check to arrive. For this reason, I decided to cancel my policy with them. It took about 7 weeks till I got my refund after deducting a big chunk of it.
It was not a pleasant experience with them and with their technician.
I don’t recommend this company to anyone.

never filed a claim this year against our home warranty plan. In November we have to make over 8 phone calls to have choice find someone to correct our heating issue. After we put in the claim we continued to get emails from choice home warranty that they were unable to find anyone to provide services for the problem with our heating. We ended up having to go to weeks without heat our home temperature was at 58ﾟ. We finally were able to have someone come out to are home However when the technician came to the home and was able to identify the issue I made a decision that my family needed to be kept warm instead of freezing waiting for choice home warranty to provide an authorization to have the work done.to repair the heating unit However because of the Fact that we had the heating unit repaired because our home was almost below 40 choice home warranty made the decision not to repair our system.
As stated previously we have had no claims this year with choice home warranty however at the rate we pay per year not to include what we pay out of pocket for our the actual service call cost that we must pay for a technician to even come out to determine the problem, they completely disrespected the help of my elderly disabled mother as will as myself in my husband who are US Army veteran servicemembers and completely disabled.
To all my fellow service women and service men and arms I highly recommend the That you will not do any service with this company. You will end up paying more out of pocket then for the services and the problems that you will encounter trying to have your items in your home repaired.
This is no way to treat a customer who pays close toTo include service cost Indian mound of over $700 a year. This company is a waste of time I don't care what any other individuals have wrote about this company but I am I advocate for providing reviews for people so they know the truth about how a company works.
I would not recommend choice to anyone they are the most company serviced more than customer service their main objective is to place you in a position where they benefit from your service and your fees more than you do. Furthermore I would also say that as a disable veteran in my husband being disable veteran for a toll of 32 years this is the most disrespectful service provider I would never recommend them to my worst enemy they are the worst home warranty plan stay away from them.
Finally, Even the representatives who are tasks to help the Individuals who are tasked to take care of customers lack the basic sympathy or empathy to take care of a customer even if they have to make one exception every single person is treated in a black-and-white manner which is not possible.
Do not use choice home warranty do not use choice home warranty they are a scam and they will have you pay more to make you think that you will receive awesome services but will actually receive the worst customer service and the longest wait time for what they deem a pay back if you have to pay out of pocket or a service.

Choice Home Warranty (CHW) is a sham. They contacted us many times to persuade us to buy their insurances. The sales person told us ” CHW will give you piece of mind when you need. If the technician comes out and cannot perform a repair, CHW will replace the unit.” and “ you may cancel the policy at any time” . Relying on such statements, we bought two policies with CHW for our two renal properties for several years.
However, CHW is always looking for excuses deny my claim an/or not to replace my appliances. A refrigerator under CHW did not work properly. CHW sent a service provider for a diagnosis on Nov. 27, 2019. It only took the technician two minutes to conclude that evaporator coil problem without doing any testing/investigation/visual examination (except exterior of two frontal doors). He even did not attempt to look at /access the coils of the refrigerator. CHW denied my claim based on that the evaporate coil failure is excluded by the agreement even if no language in the agreement specifically defines “evaporate coil” failure is excluded. I doubted the accuracy of diagnosis. I asked CHW to send different service providers for diagnosis and CHW denied my proposal.
I tried to cancel two policies with CHW. CHW told me they will refund me nothing because “You shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by CHW.”
I was very disappointed by CHW. Don't fall in the trap and take their policy. It's a SCAM.

I bought this policy because your salesperson told me your company fixes everything. "Everything you see on this list will be fixed or replaced no exceptions" and I believed him. I even helped your company by selling 4 additional policies to my family and friends. so far this company has not really fixed anything. My washer couldn't be fixed you gave me $275 to replace it minus the $45 fee that I paid that's $230 to buy a washing machine which cannot be done. You wouldn't fix my stove because you said the part that broke wasn't covered. You won't fix my freezer because you said the part that's broken isn't covered. You sent an incompetent person to fix my water heater, it never did get fixed and then you made me pay the $45 fee again when you sent another company to fix what the first one couldn't fix. It still doesn't work right I can't even fill my bathtub up halfway with hot water before it's cold. What have you done for me? So far absolutely nothing! I paid a lot of money for a four-year policy and you have done NOTHING but give me excuses on why you will not fix the things you said you would fix. I will not be renewing my policy, I will be telling the four people I recommended you to not to renew their policy. I will be placing a bad review on every single website I can find explaining how truly horrible this company has been to me. I bought a warranty because I am a legally blind single mother who cannot fix things on my own and I trusted you. Trust me when I say my reviews carry a lot of weight with people. I received a sales call and was put through a deliberate misleading and deceitful sales pitch.
The rep was supposed adamant about me paying first before I can read the coverage. He gave me a quote including roof leak of which I was interested in. He sold me on the basis of all leak roofs will be covered. I kept insisting on waiting to get the quote first so I can review the policy but he got perturbed so I gave in and made the credit card payment. As soon as I got the policy, my instinct was right on! It only covers shingled roofs ,composition roof and excludes metal, tar and gravel and all other types of roof plus the exclusions were so broad even if I had a shingle roof. He deliberately undisclosed such important facts to make sale. Furthermore, I wasted 2 hours of my time. If they can be deceitful in the beginning, imagine when you submit a claim! Read the reviews and coverage before you buy!

With most of my claims, I have be given a wait time of 3 to 5 days before their contracted provider can come to my home. When it's an issue of heating or plumbing, that's a long wait! It's faster and easier to call someone locally who can come within 24 hours.
Two of my claims have been denied. The reasons given correspond with the contract details; however, they don't seem to correspond with anything the contracted providers said.
I was talked into signing up for 3 years in advance with a discount. BIG MISTAKE! I would not recommend this company nor will I renew.

I would not recommend Choice Home Warranty. First, the coverage they tell you over the phone does not match the coverage provided. Second, they tell you can cancel for a full refund in the first 30 days, however they do not mention that there is a $50 "administration" fee charged if you cancel within that time. I had a built in microwave oven/oven combination unit go bad. It cost me $3,600 for replacement - CHW offered me $500. It was a battle to get them to cover $1,500. Air conditioning quit working, they would not cover. Water Softener, would not cover. Water Heater - would not cover. They tell you they cover, but the list of exclusions are way longer than the list that is covered and covers so very little, it is not worth it. Also, interesting note, they send you surveys and ask for feedback on a scale of 0 (not recommend) to 10 (recommend). If you click on a low score, the survey will not register. If you click on a 10, it registers. Avoid this company at all cost.

The customer service employees are like robots, they are rude they are impersonal even when you try to elevate to another level and you give me another customer service management claims specialist they don't do any better all they are doing is reading from a book and giving you information that just makes you even more upset that you bought a warranty from them in the first place, this is the absolute most costly biggest waste of money I've ever spent in my entire adulthood . They don't care. They're like reading from a script and all they care about is making sure that whatever you call them out to do is not covered. I read through my excursions constantly to try to make sure to understand before I submit a claim because what's the point in knowing something is not going to be covered and pay a service call if you just know it's going to be denied. This company is the worst Service Company I have ever dealt with out of all the warranty companies and I guess that's why they're the cheapest. I cannot wait until my contract is over with these peopl, absolutely would never ever in a million years refer them to anyone again and if I have my choice I would have them removed from the state of Georgia doing business here.

I feel that Choice Home Warranty isn't standing behind the home warranty insurance that I bought. They add exclusion to the policy and that is to just about everything. They say that they cover an appliance, but then they go to say that in the exclusion that this isn't covered or that. Before you now it Choice Home Warranty has just taken apart the appliance and their is nothing that is almost covered. You have to argue your statement to them that you pay for a service and they say well in section D, line 8 for instances a toilet. You get the repair man their to your house and he finds that it is broken, unusable. Choice says it is crack porcelain. Not covered.

Not happy with claims. Seems as if you look for ways not to pay claims. The last two claims have been denied after I had to pay to find out the issue was not covered because of routine maintenance that supposedly was not performed.

I have had this plan for approximately two years. My first claim was for a built-in Microwave that stopped working. They sent a technician out and he confirmed the unit was not working. We had to pay him $65.00 to confirm our claim. A few days later we got a call from Choice offering $150.00 to replace the microwave. I had to hire someone to install the new microwave which I paid $350. for. So labor and material came to $450.00 Very unsatisfactory!
My next claim was for an ice maker that stopped working.Choice immediately said they do not cover the ice maker, only the mechanical system of the refrigerator.
Again, very unsatisfactory. I would give Choice no stars if I could because they are a scam. And I'm stuck with them with a long term contract.

PLEASE choose another company for your home warranty needs. We had two claims denied by this company -- the first was for a leaking water pipe in our garage and the reason Choice denied it was because the leak was caused by the pipe 'migrating' over to a screw in the drywall. The second claim was for the heat pump on our HVAC system; Choice denied this because, after reviewing the pictures their technician provided, it was determined there was a refrigerant leak that was due to corrosion and or rust, and corrosion and rust was not covered. (Not covered, on an item situated on the outside, exposed to the elements. Okay.) This determination was made by Choice, NOT by the technician who performed the inspection -- the technician reported that the leak was caused by everyday wear of the unit.
Choice's business model seems to be collecting premiums and not paying claims.

Every time I submit a claim it’s a battle to get half of what is needed covered. I have submitted 3 claims in the past 3 years - first two were “not covered” and the third one was an offer to replace the appliance by providing half of the money necessary to purchase a new one. The way they cost control is by denying coverage. Your best bet is to roll the dice with a different home warranty company. It can’t be worse than Choice!

Let me tell you. Yes I did look into Home Choice Warranty. I filled out the information. I mistakenly filler in my work number. When the young man called me at work, I asked him to please not call me at work....BIG MISTAKE.. he went off on me that I was the one who provided the number blah blah. But...he wouldn't let me finish, I wanted him to call me on my home number. But he continued to rant at me. I told him he lost a sell. I will never consider this company now . They maybe a good company, but the treatment I got (over a damn phone number), I can't image how horrible the customer service department might be.
All over a phone number that I preferred they called me on instead of my work number.

Don't be fooled into signing up for coverage. We had only one claim during our coverage for replacement of a hot water heater. Of course they denied it, because they do not cover problems with any type of tank!! Well how would they ever cover a hot water heater? There are clauses in their contract that exclude them from covering any type of problem. You will never get coverage for any appliance or equipment! If there is any rust they won't cover it; if you can't prove that you did all types of maintenance, they won't cover it,; If it involves a tan or a fan or a ???? etc they won't cover it!!
You better read the fine print BEFORE you sign up and pay!
Lots of consumer complaints. Technicians don't like them. They say that they rarely cover any claim!

**EVERY excuse possible will be given to you, instead of just fixing the issue (EVERY TIME)!
**The technicians are amazing but Choice blames EVERYTHING on them!
**The cheapest route will ALWAYS be taken!
**They are NOT open or available for claim submissions, approval, processing, absolutely NOTHING or to have ANYTHING serviced on ANY HOLIDAY OR ANY WEEKEND!
**If there is an issue the needs a claim, Choice will pick and choose how to word the denial in a pathetic attempt to ensure the issue you and your family are facing is no longer covered. (Read this thoroughly and do your homework, you WILL find the loopholes!)
**Customer Service for the most part is an absolute JOKE, there are a few exceptions to this, but if the individual you get on the phone does not speak clear English... you are going to get HORRIBLE SERVICE!
I could go on and on, but by now you hopefully understand what you are facing if you go with Choice as a Home Warranty! Yes the price is amazing, which is why we are still with them, but the hoops are atrocious you will have to jump through for EVERY CLAIM!! Pick your battles! If this fits in your budget, do as we have and make it work.. if you can afford something else then it’s HIGHLY ADVISABLE to go with another company! If you ever appeal ANYTHING, just know you will NOT receive a follow up from ANYONE just plenty of broken promises to contact you within 24 hours! The only issue we ever had was with our HVAC unit. The piece that needed repaired was “a non-moving part that wasn’t caused from normal wear and tear.” We were advised it wouldn’t be covered due to the fact that the “policy does not cover Normal wear and tear.” (How does this make since? Why would anyone purchase a home warranty policy that doesn’t cover normal wear and tear??) I tell you this to say that I have been a customer with Choice for 2 years, only ever had an issue with my HVAC unit, I have additional add ons to my policy... but now realizing all I have is a monthly payment that covers nothing... ( nothing unless I guess my son pours his Yoo-hoo on the circuit board and then it’s not normal wear and tear and will miraculously be covered!) ABSURD! (Also, we need a component replaced, they offered many Options to replace it with but none of which were compatible with our unit. Once they realize this and that there was no getting around the piece we needed instead of replacing that part or the unit we received a letter that stated some parts of what I said above in quotes. Once Choice took on the liability by offering these parts as replacement parts prior to realizing that this unit takes a certain part along with our 22 that will be illegal in a few days, at that point liability went out the window responsibility was no longer a priority and they decided to wipe their hands clean and inform us that it was our responsibility to get it figured out on our own! Meanwhile we went from 80° weather to 14° weather, thank goodness we had an HVAC system that worked, thank goodness our home warranty policy kicked in and covered what was promised, thank goodness choice stood behind their word to us that they would make it right or replace the whole unit. Do your homework that’s all I’m asking. I would never wish For anyone but another parent to be going through what I am currently living with two children and a home one with the disability who is in a wheelchair in the cold is crippling to her. This company has shown their true colors during a real crisis for my family, they have been no kind of home warranty but instead have been great at attempted excuses and horrible attitudes! Too bad their reasoning for why they will not be replacing the part that needs to be replaced in my unit is completely condescending in their letter. Just remember normal wear and tear is not covered, but I was advised my part is not from normal wear and tear and that letter came directly from choice home warranty!!!!) Best wishes and good luck!

I am a long-time customer and had a couple of claims that were handled very well. I also had a couple that were disappointments. The first was a pool pump that was only a couple years old and the controller stopped operating per the program. The poolman you sent was not professional and informed me the controller was not covered. This current claim was for water heaters. The serviceman was professional but again the repair/replacement is not covered. After this latest rebuff, I wish to terminate our contract.

I'd give it negative starts if they'd let me. Choice Home Warranty is the absolute worst! They left me and my daughter without air conditioning throughout summer in Arizona. Anyone who knows anything about Arizona, a/c is a necessity and not a luxury. Thankfully the city stepped in where CHW walked away. CHW claimed that my 30+ year old a/c unit did not stop working due to normal wear and tear or age and that I in fact somehow damaged the unit, even though that is impossible. Also, anyone who knows anything about Arizona and how things work here, you are lucky if you can get your a/c unit to last 15 years and mine lasted over 30, yet the damage wasn't due to normal wear and tear. The city sent out a tech who looked over my unit and said that the damage was all due to normal wear and tear and age. They also noted that they could see hail damage to the unit, but somehow, according to CHW, that too was my fault. CHW is now in the middle of a lawsuit with the State of Arizona thanks to myself and others for lodging complaints about their lack of service and desire to actually help. They are being sued for consumer fraud within the state of Arizona and in 2015, they were sued by the State of NJ for the exact same thing! Stay as far away from this company!! Do your research!! There are far better companies out there that will actually honor their contracts with consumers, unlike CHOICE HOME WARRANTY!

On Nov 4th, I requested to get a quote from Choice. I got a call from Kyle (732 number) at 11:13am. We talked for about 10 minutes. I ultimately told him it sounded like a good deal, but I wasn't ready to make any changes just yet as I already had a Home Warranty provider. I told him I WOULD CALL HIM if I wanted to do anything. I got a call from him again at 1:40pm. When he told me who he was, I hung up the phone. He called me right back after that, then again one minute later! That same day, I received a call from an 888 number. It was a guy who I think said his name was Tom from Choice. I told him I had talked to Kyle already & that if I wanted to switch companies, I would let him know. He said to me "well why did you click for a quote if you weren't ready to switch?" I told him I am the kind of person who makes my own decisions at my own time, so them constantly calling was not the way to earn my business. He constantly talked over me and made rude remarks. When I eventually got to the point where I was like "at this point, I am no longer considering you all" he hung up on me! I received a call the next day (Nov 5) at 2:31pm from the 732 number, I didn't answer. I got another call at 5:50pm from the 888 number. I answered. It was a person named Damian. I asked him to remove me from the call list and he hung up on me. The crazy thing is, I was actually going to switch because the price was a little lower than what I am paying now, but now I am not. Their sales staff is very incompetent and nasty. Altogether, I received 8 calls from them (including 1 today) when I told them on the first one, I would call them back. I would rather pay more for better service!

This company is trash!! I'm a project manager in colorado springs. I called to set an appointment for someone to fix my bathroom tub plumbing. The valve broke and water was rushing out the faucet. So, I called because I dont have time to go back and do it myself. They denied my claim because the faucet is not covered.... ummmm who told you that the faucet was the problem? They dont listen and get mad when you tell them what their problem is!! There's better home warranty places out there. Sucks for someone that doesnt know how to do these things, to deal with these people!!! CANCEL AND RUN AWAY FAST!! YOUR PAYING FOR NOTHING!!

This company will rip you off. Had a ceiling leak and call them , they sent a plumbing company to check it out. Off course you must pay the $65 service fee before they do anything find with that no problem. Guy comes back to say they refuse to cover your claim it was like $400 dollars not to mention they gave the guy permission to put a hole on my ceiling to come minutes later refuse to take care off the leak and damages wow. I had paid my 5 year plan in full I told the lady I needed a full refund come to say they did not refund all my money stay with $200 dollars off it and it will take 30 days for it to hit my funds. Wow this choice home warranty is definitely a ripoff good luck to anyone giving them and opportunity to earn their business..

DO NOT PURCHASE a choice home warranty policy they are running a scam. I unfortunately purchased my policy 5 months ago for $1750 which was supposed to cover 5 years on my home. During the 5 months since I've been a dissatisfied customer with choices home warranty service they did not fix my microwave or my heating system. They claim the parts to repair the microwave are on back order but it's been 3 months and they still don't have the parts to fix it and although they say they will replace it in my policy; they only offered me $175 to do so. Unfortunately cost to replace the microwave will be $750. As for the heating system I waited for a technician to come to look at my furnace on 5 different occasions and each time no one showed up nor did they bother to call. The one time they did finally come he said the thermostat needed to be replaced and he would return the following week, but again an appointment was made and no one showed up. At this point I finally had enough of choice home warranty baloney and requested a refund. Sadly they were only willing to refund me back $640 from the $1750 I paid them 5 months ago. They claim the $1140 refund difference was for the repairs they provided on my claims during the 5 month period. Wow really they never fix the microwave nor heating system and I still had to pay 60 for each time the technician did show up to assess the problem but never really providing any service to fix it. DO NOT PURCHASE a choice home warranty plan they are thieves. My next step is to see them in court.

the guy you sent quality roofing came with a pick up truck and 1 ladder borrowed my ladder he was on the roof 10 minutes came down and tried to pressure into a $18.000 replacement roof I had another roofer go up and he said the roof is not in bad shape so all I got was a$ 45.00 estimate I got ripped off estimates are free he had no intention of fixing this leak so not a happy camper sincerely bob neveroski

This company is joke. They sell you policy with “cover expensive repairs, quick repairs and “peace of mind” sales pitch and when it comes to live up to their words..they will come up with every reason to deny your claims. Last week my water heater started leaking and I opened up claim and after multiple calls technician comes out 4 days later..I was told by technician that we will have to replace the tank and you will have to call CHW. Technician said your leak/water heater doesn’t have any rust issue..it’s normal wear and tear. CHW denied claim saying we can’t not repair and we don’t cover replacement after numerous call. I asked to talk to someone else in the office..they said someone will contact you in 24 hours..it’s like my leak is going to stop..take your sweet time..then finally spoke to claim manager and he said we don’t cover replacement..I said you didn’t even try to repair and technician said it’s normal wear tear and no rust...they are just looking to scam the ppl from what I am reading with the reviews and don’t cover much...week later I am calling plumber by myself and my dime to get my water heater fixed..STAY AWAY...I wish could have given 0 star..

I’ve been a customer for longer than 15 years & still 4 more prepaid years remained.
I’ve referred/opened numbers of policies for my real estate clients as I am a broker of R/E.
It was first time claim during lat 15(?) years.
I Called&left msg 5 times.
No case MGR responded as was promised.
Called 4 more times & escalated the issue but still no one responded.
Issue/claim was simple & should’d been covered by policy but it was denied with all kinds of excuses.
Repair cost could be less than a one hundred dollars at market cost even though
some policy holders have to pay their $75 service fees.
Within 8days, nothing had been done and still dragging me here & there, shuffling me around.
CHW promised,
1. 24/7 service:
CLAIM DEPT & OTHER DEPT. CLOSE AT CERTAIN TIME.
Cannot get services
2. Can’t repair? Will place:
company, with all kind of excuses, try not to correct the issues and waist client’s time
by shuffling clients department to department.
3. Local Pre screened technicians:
Individual Technicians might be good but companies they selected for my case was not good.
Did not keep appointment time.
Put 3 more appointments at my appointment time.
4. Case manager & Manager of case manager seem not working their jobs.
OVERALL, WAIST MY TIME & MONEY FOR THE POLICY HOLDING FOR LAST 15 YEARS.

I am buy the policy for more than year i asked them what it cover they said everything first claim i make it about the frigiratare about licking water they send a guy to fix it but he broke the ice maker and then I called the company I told him the icemaker ever stop working on the company said it’s not covered by warranty even if it’s a technician problem and five months after I have my hot water tank leaking water from the bottom and I call and I make claim and I explain to the company what’s going on I told him we have to replace the hot water tankAnd he said he want to find a technician after he send a technician and I pay $60 for a check up and I want to say it’s not cover so if anyone he want to spend his money for nothing he can buy the warranty from this company

I had air conditioner problems, and called CHW, The appointment time was several days, from 11AM to3;00 PM.
I tried to call the vendor, and left a message. I received no response! I had to leave for a previous appointment at 4:00 pm, on this date. The technician called at 1:30 PM, and told me he would be here at 3:30 PM. At 4:10 PM, he had not arrived, so I called the vendor, and he told me he probably had traffic problems(a logical excuse). Finally, at 4:17 PM, the tech arrived, and said traffic was bad. I had to leave, so I had little time to speak to the tech. I called home around 5:30 to talk to my wife, and she said he just finished, and she gave him the phone to talk to me.
He told me the coil on my heat pump had leaked all my Freon, and needed to be replaced. He said he could fix it for $5000. I asked him if he found the leak, and he said no. He wouldn't need to find the leak, because the coil needed to be replaced. I told him to forget about it, and he received his check, and left.
I called my builder,(Our house is only 2-1/2 years old), and he told me who installed the air conditioner, and told me to call them. I did, and they told me my unit was under warranty for 5 years parts, and 1 year labor.
They came and checked the unit the next day, and after about 30 minutes, the tech told me he found the leak, in the reverse valve, and he would order a new one, but I would have to be responsible for the labor.
A week later, they came and replaced the valve, put in Freon, and my air conditioner works great.
I will have to pay the labor, (Approximately $600.00), And I still haven't heard back from my claims representative.
I've CHW, for over 5 years, and they still haven't contacted me I would have given a zero for their action on this job if I could.
I was told to contact CHW for an authorization number, before I had the local company did anything. I called the office to get them to call, and the office told me that they would not contact any HOME WARRANTY COMPANY, because of the terrible experiences they have had with them. They told me their technicians were told not to contact any Home warranty companies, because of the adverse experiences with them.
I called the number for an authorization, and was told I would have to get the technician to call. I explained the problem, and the CHW employee told me he understood, and would do everything he could to make sure CHW would take care of the claim.
I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM CHW ABOUT MY CLAIM!!!
IS THIS THE WAY CHW TAKES CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS? I WOULD RATE A 0 IF I COULD!!

Calling me during work hours was very aggravating causing problems. They asked questions not related to obtaining a quote and would not directly give me pricing without reading a novel and asking way too many questions.
One sales rep that called me was a bit condescending as she insinuated I was a liar about another service I was aware of being successful in the family.
I did not want to be contacted by phone at all initially. I just wanted the information to compare with other proposals, then call the one I was interested in.
I sure hope the process of calling for the paid service is not as difficult.

stay away from using choice Home, they don't have the qualified technicians....
I had claims opened, and it's been over 3 weeks that Choice Home tried to send a technician to fix my appliances. Apparently, these technicians are vendors that their company partnered with several. Some terrible and non professional vendors. Choice Home have rescheduled my appointment more than 4 times, and it's been over 3 weeks of wait! No technician, literally No one had showed up to take a look at the broken appliances. They are bunch of lazy liars, I They are rip-off, they will stress the life out of you....

I was a customer of Choice warranty my A/C NEEDED REPAIR. They denied my claimed on a false technicality , said it wasn't covered. I had paid for 3 years upfront, so when I cancel my membership and asked for a prorated refund. it took over 90 days to get my the prorated amount back from them. I still haven't got the money put back on my credit card. After 38 calls , I finally took it up with my credit card. They even sent me a check for the prorated balance they owed me and stopped payment on it. I got charged for a stop payment fee from my bank. I do not recommend this company at all. you get no where with them. they don't stand behind the warranty.

Horrible experience. Very delayed repairs and many things not covered that fall under normal wear and tear. Two months to repair a dryer. Denied coverage on icemaker. Denied coverage on ac unit that needs gas because it was dirty inside. What unit isn't? They are constantly exposed to elements and pulling in dirty air etc.
Dishwasher was finally replaced but technician left a hose undone that ruined floor.
Choice stated that was between me and the service company. That's ridiculous, since Choice has thr contracts not me. Policy is pretty useless. Wish I had not prepaid and stayed with American Home Shield. I had great service with them!

Though Choice appears to be the cheapest, the customer service, contract stipulations are poor. We utilized a claim for a double wall oven, they did not replace the oven as advertised. They started at an offer of $299, when I refused the offer, their offers went up 499, 799 and finally 1000, The oven which was the least expensive ended up costing $1549 plus installation of $249. Lead time for repair was long. Cancellation of the contract was $50. plus any money paid for claims. I did not receive the contract until after I agreed to the contract. Bad on my part I agree, very poor by Choice, because the contract was no way close to what was promised by the sales person. Stay away.

I called Choice when my refrigerator started to fail to cool. The technician came out—moved the refrigerator out to get behind it. He discovered I needed to have a part replaced. Said he would likely have the part and return within a week. He gave me his cell number and instructed me to call if I had any problem in the meantime.
Next day I noticed water coming from underneath the refrigerator. I wiped it up and called the appliance tech. Had to leave voicemail. Got no return call. He finally called the following week to say he was coming with the new part. When he arrived, I referred to the water issue:: got blank look. He admitted he hadn’t listened to voicemail,stating, “ I was busy”.
He pulled refrigerator out and discovered the valve for hose to ice maker had been loosened, but took no responsibility for it. He wiped up the water, replaced the part and was on his way.
After several weeks, the hardwood floor under/around refrigerator dried; and I discovered buckled hardwood in front of the refrigerator.
I called Choice—“We’re not responsible, you’ll have to call appliance repair “
I called appliance repair...and called, called, called!!! Apparently they have gone out of business.
I called and , after multiple attempts, I reached some claims specialist at Choice.
After hearing my situation, she said Choice is not liable!! When I expressed my outrage at such poor customer service, she said she could pay me what they would have paid the technician: $160!!! That’s like putting a bandaid on a gunshot wound!!!!
And to top it off, I get MULTIPLE emails per month—offering me a Choice home warranty—when I still have 2 years on my policy!!!!

If anyone is considering possibly purchasing one of those Home Warranties for protecting your Household Appliances, Plumbing and HVAC; DO NOT consider Choice Home Warranty. Unlike their lying TV commercials that state they replace appliances that they cannot fix - THEY DON'T REPLACE NOTHING. And if you decide to cancel, you most likely won't even get a refund (if you do, they'll deduct every single service-call at the market price). For example, you pay the policy in FULL and have a problematic appliance, they'll send out numerous repair technicians (10 or more) and they can't resolve your complaint. Choice Home Warranty will deduct every last repair person's actual market fee (not your deductible) from what you paid them if you canceled with a $50 cancellation fee on top. So you go from $1,875 (that I paid) down to $150 in less than (2) two years of owning their policy, I WOULD NOT CHOOSE THEM IF I WERE YOU. That's my experience in a nutshell...
