After three appointments the garage door repair person finally met the scheduled appointment time. Instead of diagnosing the problem, he immediately went into an upsale effort to sell a new opener. I refused so he went through the repair process. He said that he could fix it but it wouldn't last more than a year or so. If that's the case, perhaps he rigged it to fail?? In any event, it is working for now but I don't have a lot of confidence. Credit cards accepted for the $75 deductible ... BUT they charge a 3% fee to use the card. I wrote a check instead. 495 Garage Door.

On 03/29/2023 I filed a claim for an issue with my A/C unit and my Furnace (two separate claims). The A/C unit was not pushing out air, and the heater when turned on was pushing out smoke. A technician was not sent to my home until 04/04/2023. I paid the $85.00 fee for each claim. Since that day I have been in touch directly with Choice Home Warranty and the technician assigned to my claim. The technician from the beginning indicated that the furnace needed replacement and as a matter of fact had to be shut off due to carbon monoxide exposure into the home. By law he was required to close the gas flow to the furnace. The A/C unit had leaks beyond repairs and needed to be replaced (normal wear and tear). Since the day the claim was filed I have been without heat or A/C. With the temperatures changing now, my home has been between 78-85 degrees daily. It is humid and I am afraid that it could cause more damage to the home. Choice Home Warranty continued to request additional supporting evidence from the technician. The technician provided several photos and their EXPERT opinions to Choice. Choice Home Warranty lied stating that the technician indicated a "charge" and leak seal is the proper repair for the unit. Additionally, Choice conveniently changed systems and as indicated by their customer service rep all communications between myself and the technician with Choice is not in their system anymore. That is BAD FAITH and borderline fraudulent. Choice has also failed to provide me with supporting evidence that the technician diagnostic for repairs was anything other than replacement. Here we are almost 60 days later, I am starting to have my health affected by this issue, my home is currently 85 degrees inside, and all that Choice has approved is for a repair that will not fix the issue, a repair that they do not even fully cover because i would be responsible for over $300. I DEMAND THAT CHOICE APPROVES THE CORRECT REPLACEMENT OF THESE UNITS.

I had to use my own heating and air conditioner contractor to do the job. They sent in pictures and videos of the rusted leaking coils on both of my air conditioners. They were waiting on an authorization number but you requested more information. In the meantime the parts came in to fix the units and I told them to go ahead and fix it because it was hot. Since I had to pay for the service and you were to reimburse me and the work had to be done, I saw no problem. The minute I let you know that the work was done I was told that the claim would not be paid because I didn’t have the authorization number. Atchley had spent a lot of time trying to please you all but still no number. This contract was transferred to me when I bought my house so I didn’t know about the claim not being paid without the number. I personally think that you made it so hard for Atchley Heating and Air to work with you so that you wouldn’t have to pay the bill. It isn’t my fault that you didn’t have your own company to check the problem out. I am very unhappy.

If I could give negative stars, I would. You wait forever to have someone come out and then they can’t do the repair, or their estimate to CW is denied. The contractors they work with themselves have horrible reviews. It took over a month and multiple technicians to have my dishwasher repaired - mind you, all it needed was a new fuse. After multiple technicians couldn’t or wouldn’t fix a dripping tub faucet, I requested reimbursement for the 75 service fee so I could have it repaired on my own. They claimed they could not, so I requested to cancel. Suddenly they could reimburse me, but I cancelled regardless. I have never been so frustrated nor wasted as much time as I did with this company. Don’t waste youri energy

Choice is running a scam-like operation. They take weeks to find a technician and approve the work. It took them over a month to get a technician that could install sewerage injector pump for my home. Choice finally agreed to let me get my own plumber. My cost for the job was $1,100. However, Choice only reimbursed me $530. It's been about 30 days and I still have not received reimbursement. Consumers, be aware, this is not a true home warranty company. They do not cover the full cost of replacement or repair. In an other instance with a dishwasher, Choice only gave me a $360 Lowes gift card to buy and install a replacement dishwasher. It's a guessing game to what they will actually cover.

Choice use to be a good company. Lately it is non responsive and the customer service is terrible. I have had a water leak in my shower since Nov 2022. I have had several plumbers out to replace the cartridge but never return. It is the end of May 2023 and my shower is not fixed. The plumbers keep telling me that Choice is not paying their bills or have fired them. They have told me that the compensation to the plumbers they work with is subpar. I have called around in my area and all of the plumbers will not work with Choice. I have spent hundreds of dollars in water due to this leak. When I call Choice they will not let me talk to a supervisor and just keep re-posting my claim.

TERRIBLE Service. @Why you ask? Have been waiting since February about my problem washing machine in Incline Village, NV. No follow-thru - their service tech that was sent out was terrible and I paid $180 out of pocket myself for a reliable appliance company who properly diagnosed problem and said I would be better off purchasing a new (stackable) Washing Machine. Choice Supervisor is aware since beginning of last week and still - nothing! Plus Service Company Choice chose only will come out once a month and the service company screwed up the last appointment and said too bad - you'll just have to wait another month! THIS IS SERVICE! I either deserve my upfront money back or they should provide me with a new or re-serviced washing machine. What is wrong with this company!!!????

If I could give less than one star I would and technician was very capable and did his job very well. The problem is that Home Warranty manipulates cons and just makes you wait two weeks to get anything done and then they tell you. Oh, we’re just gonna give you a check for $191 for a microwave that I paid $250 for and now I have to install it myself, no other people are polite and courteous except when you get to a gentleman named Brandon who is employee ID number that he gave me as he was laughing so I’m not even sure if it’s correct it was very unprofessional. He was laughing and making Like there was no problems and I was very upset. My father is 90 years old a retired veteran also or retired captain in Pittsburgh fire department. They don’t care who you are or what you are. They treat you like trash and it’s just their way of doing it.

Do not choose Choice Home Warrenty. Recently my 17 year old water geater died. 16 days later I still have no hot water. The life span for a water heater is 10-12 years. They don’t want to replace the tank. All they want to do is replace all other parts. They sre not taking into consideration the calcium buildup. I also need a new dishwasher. I live in a mobile home and requires a ADA compliant dishwasher. Its 24” wide but only 32 1/2 in tall. Standard dishwashers are 24” wide and 34” tall. They start at $799.00. They said they would send me a Lowes gift card for $246.00. It takes almost a week before you have someone booked to come out and do the repairs. Oh brdt if all . . . They don’t operate in the state of California. Instead they use a third party company. This company is a farse.? Had I jnown what I know now I would never have signed up with them. I signed up fir a three year contract. They said I can cancel my policy but they don’t give refiunds. Be smart and don’t get suckered into a contract with them.

The call centers operators are way off shore…very difficult to understand communication. The claim process is extremely timely…a broken water line claim was initiated on April 2nd this previous month. The trade assigned went MIA after their 2nd visit. I called each week…as Choice pays no attention to an open ticket repair time line. After 4 contacts…contractor scheduled for today…and completed the 1 hr repair. When complained that I was without water service to a portion of my home…I was told this s not an emergency policy…I purchased a Six year warranty…six years of aggravation

Horrible! Bought this policy just a few months ago and needed to use it for air conditioning, they sent someone out fast but denied the charges saying it wasn’t motor related. It was a leak in wiring. Funny when Daniel F sold me policy he told me everything to do with unit would be covered if we had problems down the road. Needless to say he hasn’t returned my call or emails either. We paid the $75 deductible for nothing and now will be paying $550 to fix wires. I called to cancel policy got transferred a few times then offered a free sticking month of service and promised that our next claim would go better! I didn’t have the energy to keep negotiating so I accepted and still plan on canceling warranty. It’s a hoax, I read reviews after I purchased policy and they were not good! Very unhappy!

Unfortunately, there was not much I liked. The service provider that was chosen was not logistically close to me and when I called customer service none of the info I was given about the service provider matched up or was accurate. Ultimately, I was allowed to pick my provider. Unfortunately, the amount that CHW provided was nominal. My bil came close to $900 and only $169 was covered. I was completely underwhelmed by the whole experience.

After furnace man sent in his quote for the furnace repair Choice turned it down. Rejected it. The bill he sent to Choice was for $230.80. I had to pay the bill before he left. I gave him a check for the amount he asked for. Then I get a email and it said the the “ claim is authorized for $230.80” What kind of BS is this . You would not pay the service man but I can for the same amount he asked for. Now I have to wait 30 days for reimbursement check to come. But when I signed up for Choice Home Warranty they took my money right away. It’s been 27 days so far and no check.

Now I called today and she said it has been over 30 days and the guy that came to fix it she said would not come back. As a homeowner and full time real estate investor for more than 40 years, I purchase and utilize real estate property warranties on both my investment properties and my personal home. I currently have two rental properties and my personal home "warrantied" with Choice Home Warranty. Of all the warranty companies that I have utilized (and there are many), Choice is by far the worst. I will NEVER purchase another warranty from Choice. I would sincerely hope that anyone who reads this will take heed and avoid Choice like the plague. Choice initially sends a vendor for the problem, but when the vendor asks for approval to repair a problem, they are almost always delayed, delayed, and then refused. I am currently waiting on approval to "snake" a stopped up toiled. I have been waiting for more than two weeks. I told the plumbing compant to please proceed and I will pay out of pocket. Had a dishwasher that the tech advised replacing. Choice allowed $246.00 to purchase and replace a dishwasher. There are NO dishwasher that can be purchased for that price. When I appealed, I was told that Choice had a source that would sell them a dishwasher for $246.00. My reply was great, send the dishwaser, Choice then asserted that they would not purchase the dishwasher. I offered to purchase the dishwasher. Choice refused to tell me wher such an item could be purchased, only asserting that they could purchase it. But, they refused to purchase it. Customer service is beyond bad. Worse warranty company that I have ever used.

Worst service in terms of actually getting claims resolved on time. Choice shows no initiative to want to resolve open claims timely and when you have to call they repeatedly say “we’re waiting on the technician to complete or submit all necessary documents”. I don’t know why I have to be the one to proactively chase down the technician and the warranty company to resolve my claims. Choice sadly to say also has some of the worst contractors that bid on your claim once its open, making your experience a not so great one. Some Contractors also tend to express their frustrations with choice, saying how difficult it is to work with choice which in-turn makes it difficult for them to be timely with my claims. I guess i now understand why choice doesn’t show the initiative to want to resolve my claims timely. I also have had a rude encounter with a claims manager to spoke to me in an unprofessional manner. This lady seemed to be upset with me because i wanted to cancel my policy and not take the check she was offering due to my claim not being resolved.

Choice Home Warranty promises a lot, but in reality offers very little. They figure out a way to not pay for things. They make you think that when your old washer dies, you get a new one, but in reality they just offer you a Lowe's gift card to cover a portion of a new one (the contract says they have to give you cash, but you have to actually ask for that, they offer gift cards). As far as big ticket items, they make sure that every part that might break is listed in their excluded list. When you call to dispute a decision about your claim, they have managed to hire the rudest people in the world. In my area, the vendors don't even want to work with Choice anymore because when they do a repair, choice takes months and months to pay the vendor.

I had a tiolet leak. The company they sent out came looked at problem. Told me CHW does not pay them well. Anyway, he charged me 65.00. And never came back. CHW sent someone else. They also charged me another $65.00. I requested a refund cause it was their error sending me a company first that did not follow through. I will not recommend CHW. Even though I'm locked in until 2025.

I liked the technician but I do not like the company Choice Warranty. I think they are a big rip off and will never recommend them to anyone. I was very excited when purchasing the plan because of the peace of mind I though I was getting. The man who sold me the plan said there was a $65.00 copay and if it couldn't be fixed I would get a brand new compatible item. Well my ceiling fan went bad and it was nothing short of a nightmare. It was finally resolved after about 4 months and then 2 weeks ago my top of the line Samsung washer would not spin and drain so I called for an appointment. Mike from Sears service came out and diagnosed a bad water drain pump. He checked on the part and it was unavailable. A few days later Choice Warranty sent me aa email stating they could not get the part and my washer would be replaced. I was offered a cash buyout for about $340.00 or I could request a replacement. I filled out the form for a replacement and was assigned case manager Lydia C, I called her and she was unavailable and I spoke to another case managed who reviewed my washer features and came back with a whopper offer of $479.00 for a top of the line Samsung washer. The offer was not ever half of what it cost for a new washer compatible to my washer. After a lot of arguing I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said she did not have a supervisor and she was the top person. After a lot of frustration I was realizing that this company is a BIG scam and there was nothing I could do so I accepted the offer and she said she would email the gilt card to Lowe's. I started to search for a washer at Lowe's and fount one on sale for $698.00+tax+delivery+++. After waiting about 2 hours I called Choice Warranty back and the customer service rep said it would take 4-6 weeks to receive the gift card and it was only good at Lowe's which is 40 miles from me. I wanted to buy one at Home Depot which is 4 miles from me but she said that it was Lowe's or nothing. So we've been without a washer for 3 weeks now and have to wait 4-6 weeks for a Lowe's gift card. When I purchased this plan the man said the appliances were covered up to $3,000.00 each and if the appliance could not be repaired they would get a new one. The lady at your customer service said they NEVER get and replace an appliance, The replacement is ALWAYS money for the customer to use to get a replacement. This whole experience has been a TOTAL nightmare

You guys are crooks! You denied an A/C claim. You say leak of Freon is because of rust and corrosion. You wouldn’t authorize a leak test so you have NO clue where the leak is. Tubing is copper and aluminum which resists rust and corrosion. The leak is in a valve which is not rust or corrosion. But you don’t know that because you didn’t authorize a leak test. Tech did one for my so I know it’s a valve leak. Tried the appeal process, stated the facts and still denied. If I could put no stars I would. I work in real estate and I will tell every agent I work with how big of crooks you are. Can’t wait to do an online review of your crookedness.

I have been waiting 4 weeks to get my dryer fixed. The washer after 3 weeks was not fixed but replaced. That definitely didn't even begin to replace the replacement and we bought a smaller unit for less money than I paid 5 years ago. A mere 343.00 is just ridiculous. I called to talk to Victoria J and got a Tanya. She was just a dry rug to talk to. I never did hear from Victoria who was supposed to be my contact. The review was not acceptable as I never spoke with Victoria and their was no way to convey this. The Tanya was not a good representation for Choice!
