I don’t like that I can not speak to anyone in the United States, no matter what you will be talking to people over seas. Other than that I’ve had my dryer repaired, I was very impressed with how quickly that got done. I had a plumbing issue, that took weeks to get some one to come out.. that could have been avoided had I been able to talk to someone locally, that actually understood the problem..

i am giving a 3 because for the appliances that i needed repaired the service was great. but, on the other hand the only reason i am not giving a 1 is because the case mangr has seemed to really try to help. i have had 3 technicians now and my problem has still not been repaired. prior to the 3rd tech i was given the choice to use my own tech but that same day before i could even respond, that option was removed. it has been over a week and we have not heard from the tech that came out. we are at the point of doing the repair ourselves and the thought of joining that lawsuit has crossed my mind. the process of this case has been at the least embarrasing and shameful.. we now will refuse to pay anything out of pocket. VERY DISSATISFIED.

I was having issues and had to escalate to Resolutions. The Supervisir who handled my problem was PROFESSIONAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND SO VERY COURTEOUS. He took care of everything and made it all right! At the beginning I was annoyed and angry, and he managed to bring my situation under control and turn my whole outlook around! Well done!

CHW has been very helpful recently. They are very timely in getting the ball rolling when you put in a claim. However, they use some of the most flaky companies to do the work. If you have an issue with one of their service/repair companies they will try to get another one assigned. The process itself can take a few days. First a repair person comes out to assess the problem. Then they have to get the approval from CHW to do the work. Then the company will schedule the repair. Takes longer if you have to wait on a part. Of course if CHW can’t get a company to do the job, they will allow you to find your own company. I tried this route before and it was a big hassle. Many repair companies don’t like dealing with any homeowners warranty companies.

I had been with Choice Home Warranty for over 3 years. I recently had a issue and it was taken too long. The customer service reps wasn't listening and I ask for a supervisor. When the supervisor "Soraya" came on she made everything better and listened to me. I was going to leave but did not because of her. She was awesome 👌

Choice is worth the money if for nothing more than I don’t have to deal with jerks who claim to be professional and never show up.

I felt it took too much time trying to get the machine to understand what service I needed. After the first two tries it should have been sent to a human. The rest of the exchange with a human went well. Now, I am waiting to have it assigned. Since everyone works, I hope the assigned time will come early enough for us to make arrangements to be home.

Our inside HVAC air handler went out on 3/16. The new unit had to be ordered, but did not get installed until 4/3. Do the math. Warning #2 is that the outside unit HAD to be replaced as well, on our dime. (cost ? $2700 +/-) The good news is that it was not too hot or cold. The new unit seems larger, so we are getting used to a much stronger fan noise inside, though the outside is much quieter. The tech used by CHW has been awesome - otherwise the scores would be lower. Bottom line ? It would have been worse without the warranty, but makes me wonder what 'fine print' will happen on the next repair, like if the fridge is working but not the freezer - will I be paying half again? Makes you wonder......

I like how seamless the process was. I only used the service once and entered a new claim today for a second issue. I am interested to see if the process will be as nice as my first experience of if it will be different. I wish we could see what companies they have agreements with to pick one to service our issue rather than the random selection, but I believe that is how most warranty companies do it. The plumber I had was good, so we shall see how this HVAC issue turns out. Good luck on your home warranty search!

The first time I had to get CHW was for my dishwasher not working. Very frustrating and bad experience! They didn’t communicate well with me or the technician. I had to wait a long time and had to keep calling. They finally got the diagnosis and said it wasn’t worth repairing and that they would replace it. I purchased and had a new one delivered to me. When I had called CHW they told me that I had to find someone else to install it. They had never clarified this to me or let me know in anyway at all!!! Why do I need a warranty company if they can’t do the job!!! We had another problem with heating shortly after that and all in all that problem was taken care of properly in a timely manner!

This warranty company appears to cover a lot of things others don't - great. But the one time I've tried to use it (in the four years I've had the policy) - for my HVAC, they didn't cover the particular problem. Well, I can understand that - the policy has exclusions, okay. But they why am I paying so much for something I'm never going to use? So I call to cancel (in November) and they say, "why don't we cover you for free for a couple of months, to get you through the holidays?" Okay. So, I'm getting billed again and I call and tell them I want to cancel. They don't refund the amount I just got billed for (five days ago), or even a prorated amount, and then they tell me that if I cancel the cancellation is effective immediately. So the amount I already paid for they take, but I lose what I paid for! So now I need to schedule a time to call right before they bill me again. Horrible customer service, all around. Stay away, unless you are the type that likes timeshares and snake oil. UPDATE: Apparently they CAN refund the money and cancel the service. So, they did so, and I have updated my review to 3 stars.

I just had an experience with a problem with the electric cooktop. It was reported on 1/3/2023. After numerous appliance tech went to the property with not anything being fixed and poor communications as to why it was taking so long. In March Choice decided that they would just pay out the cost of a cooktop as they said that they were having a hard time locating the parts and are still blaming COVID for the problem. The pay out was good for them, but not the homeowner as they put the responsibility on the homeowner to find a cooktop with correct measurement and then have to hire someone to install the unit. The cost is higher than what Choice is paying the homeowner to replace the item. My understanding that they would replace it and pay for the unit and installation according to the warranty, but obviously in fine print they can opt to do the pay out. No what I signed up for as I thought the warranty would take care of it and now as a homeowner I am having to find time in my schedule to find a replacement and hire someone to install it. It took them 2 months to come the that conclusion.

Electric clothes dryer did not heat took 1 week to have their service person come to determine the problem and he found another problem needed to be addressed (electrical) was not providing proper voltage to create heat. this took another week for their electrician to come out and replace a circuit breaker. The electrician traveled 90 miles to make a service call when I was assured at the time of purchased that they had hundreds of service personnel in my metro area to handle all types of situations. The problem did get fixed after waiting a total of 15 or 16 days from when first reported. (had a grandchild and 2 great grandchildren with us at the time).

I requested service on my washer. Technician came out, diagnosed problem and ordered parts. Tech came back and installed parts...not working properly. Technician came back and did further work. Did not completely solve the problem. I requested another service call with a 'different' technician (in agreement with initial technician) BUT they rescheduled the same person. When he determined he was re-scheduled, in spite of my/our request, he contacted company and service now delayed from Friday until Monday.

I’m awaiting the giftcard from Lowe’s. Choice advertising says if it can’t be repaired Choice will replace it. Replacing the washer doesn’t mean one for half of what we paid but that’s how Choice sees it. We will continue to take the buyout at both of our homes until our 6 yr contract expires then we will not renew. But I have to admit the process so far has been much quicker. We’ll see how long it takes for the gift card to show up.

The serviceman who fixed our clothes washer did a good job & knows what he was doing even though & found the problem. Since the first visit did not fixed the first time, he has to order a replacement parts & in 2 days he was able to get it & install it. Now our washer is working fine.

I'm concerned about the service fee, which was $10 more than the original price of $75. We weren't informed that the price would increase, and that's unsettling. Another issue is that the repair person has to come twice - once to investigate the problem and get approval, and then again to make the repairs or installations. This seems like a waste of time and can sometimes end up costing customers more money, such as in the case of a water leak or if household functions are not met. We chose Choice Home Warranty because of the great reviews of its customer service, but we've noticed that there is room for improvement. We hope that these concerns can be addressed so that we can continue to appreciate the benefits of being your customer. Thank you, and have a great day.

Would much prefer to speak with a person when filing a claim as it isn't always easy to explain what a problem is from prompts that are offered The person who was recommended to do the work on my washing machine didn't seem to have much experience and had to look up on her phone what the possible problem might be. She decided it was a part that needed to be replaced and had to be ordered. I have still not heard back from her about if or when the part might arrive or when she might return. I subsequently looked at past reviews on her company and they were all 1 or 2 (at the most) stars, with the same kind of complaints as I have just listed. My question is, why is Choice Home Warranty still using this company when I know that they have other vendors in my area that I know are reputable.
