I have been a Choice customer for over a year and although I appreciate the service fee amount, I have had enough different claims to know now that many things are NOT covered by the service. Minor issues in a home system are covered but major faults are many times denied or placed back on the homeowner to carry the load. I wish Choice could be more comprehensive in their repairs. Also, it's up to the technicians if a system actually gets replaced, even if that same system (ie refrigerator) has failed multiple times. It is not up to Choice or the homeowner (customer) to come together determine that the system has failed multiple times. If this is the case, then Choice needs to send the same technician out each time to get a better all-over scope of the system.

The first time my refrigerator broke the technician came 2 times to fix it. A couple of weeks later had the same problem . They send a different technician ordered some parts and back to normal. However, the problem persisted and I had to call again. Finally they found what was actually wrong and my refrigerator was fixed. So I had to pay the $75.00 fee twice My second call was recently this summer when my A/C broke.They told me it would be up to 2 days to find a technician. I was really upset about this situation. I kept calling and told them I suffer from anxiety and sometimes can’t take a full breath. I was crying , I was nervous, and they would say the same reply. So I had to sweat it out that evening and slept with all my windows open with the ceiling fan on. I told them how could it be possible that you can’t find a technician that service my area? That was not a pleasant experience. I have mixed feelings about how this company operates

I agreed to a multi-year program, covering multiple systems due the age of our home. I have a toilet replaced, my heater, AC and oven repaired. Each time my cost was the contracted service call price, no additional charge. It's great since prices have gone up for everything. Service is usually within 24 hours.

I dislike that replacement items are the cheapest possible. I replaced my fan in my home When You wanted me to accept a 42" white fan that goes into a small mobile home only worth $40. When I replaced my microwave you sent me a check for the cheapest on the market and what about installation of that I had to pay for installation. Now I am waiting on a toilet and I don't know what I will get.

I got 3 or4 calls a day from this company. I screen all my calls and finally answered and spoke with a sales person. He was friendly and explained the program, however he held back the info about having to pay $85.00 anytime someone comes out and the 30 day waiting period for the policy to begin. I really wish that he would have given me more info on these things the beginning.

All of our service calls were timely and the service was completed promptly EXCEPT when you sent Sears for my dryer! Two missed appointments because y’all have them the wrong phone number, second appointment guy never showed up although he sent me reports about the visit and forged the estimate approval but it wasn’t fixed because he NEVER showed up. Customer service on this appliance claim was horrible! It’s been 22 days without a dryer! They tried to schedule a third time for the same company to come out and I refused. I am still waiting to have a working dryer!!

MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH CHOICE WAS WHEN MY AC/HEAT UNIT WENT OUT AND CHOICE REPLACED THE ENTIRE SYSTEM. IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE, OVER A YEAR AGO. I HAVE RECENTLY FILED A CLAIM FOR WORK ON MY REFRIGERATOR AND THAT HAS NOT BEEN ACCOMPLISHED YET. SO I HAVE NO RATING ON THIS NEXT CLAIM.

The technician, Brandon, was awesome. He found the issues with my AC and fixed them. My house is cool again! However, he found a leaking valve causing the freon to slowly leak out. The other issues were approved by CHW, but this was not. Of course I wanted it fixed so I paid over and above the service fee. I don't understand why this wasn't covered. I have had this warranty over 2 years and have not used it once. Seems a cheap way to handle it and serve your customers.

My AC unit broke down and we were desperate to get it back on.I called CHW on Monday and the next day (Tuesday)a technician showed up and fixed the problem.I was surprised with the speed at which it was done.And they updated me every step of the way while help was on the way.

Our garbage disposal was leaking water, preventing us from using not only the disposal but also the kitchen sink and the dishwasher. After speaking with a technician and sending photos and a video of the leaking disposal, we were pleased that the technician immediately agreed that the disposal needed to be replaced (as opposed to repaired). Unfortunately, it took 12 days from the morning of our claim to the replacement of the disposal (which included one week to order the new garbage disposal). This long period of time seems unreasonable and created an unnecessary burden on my daily life.

Review left on Consumers Affair website published review 8/17/22 I been researching home warranty companies for a while now. After seeing a Consumers Affairs page listing the top recommended home warranty companies, I filled out the info to get more info on the top 3 listed. Minutes after filling out the form, CHOICE Home called me. I HATE this. Just send me the info and let me make my decision at my leisure. Anyway, I talked with the rep. First he (lied or made a blatant mistake) about the rating, saying it was 5 stars. Um, no dude. I'm on C.A. website and your company has 4 stars. Ok, I let it slide. He tells me about the plan and I ask questions. Although they cover my HVAC system they don't cover maintenance. That doesn't make sense, because during routine maintenance is when I can find out potential issues and get it repaired on the spot. My biggest gripe with them and all these home warranty companies is the hard sell, up sell and not enough time to evaluate their program. They're determined not let you get off the phone without a sale. So if they feel like they're loosing you, then the want to talk to their manager to see if I can get you a better price if you sign up today move. Why not just be transparent and up front? Then once I got the lower price, he tried to upsell me to a 3 or 5 year special deal contract. So instead of approximately $500, it's $1,500 - $2,000. Once I ballacked at that amount he said he could give me a payment plan. I'll think about it, I don't even know if I will still like your company after 1 year. If I sign up for the additional years, the price is locked in, um ok. Then lastly you get a 30 day money back guarantee. BUT YOU CAN'T USE THE POLICY FOR 30 DAYS. Why not make it a 60 day money back guarantee so I can actually try your service. If after 30 days I decide I want cancel, I get my money back minus any service fees, $50 admin fee and prorated adjustment Then today, I get a call from CHOICE trying to upsell me on "free home security." Although the equipment is free, the monitoring is not and costs more than I'm presently paying CPI. So I just wanted to given others the heads up on how these Home warranty companies operate so no one is surprised. The representative was professional and knowledgeable but the tactics used by this company left a bad taste in my mouth. Will update once I actually use the service.

I switched warranty carriers to Choice based on overall reviews. The plan is just like my other one but the rates are better due to receiving a military discount. I hope my decision won’t prove me wrong. The rep was nice and explained everything very well so for now, we’ll see how it goes.

Choice Warranty reviewed my claim and sent out a technician to review the issue within 24 hours. We are very appreciative of that!! However, our AC unit is very old, and the technician recommended a replacement might be better than fixing the part, as it is unlikely to last through another season or two, and this request was denied by Choice. Instead they approved a temporary fix to limp it along a few more months. Hopefully all will go smoothly with Choice when it inevitably goes out for good in the next year or two.

He was very polite and respectful to our home. He diagnosed the problem and had it fixed and tested in a very short time. We were impressed and appreciative!

It has been pretty discouraging! First of all, the amount you offered to replace our microwave was at least $100 short of what it was actually worth and would need for replacement cost. And that does not include any installation fee. I had to negotiate in order to get the upgrade replacement cost. I do not want to have to do this with every instance of needing the warranty to take affect. Also, the E gift cards may take up to a month before we receive them to be able to replace the broken microwave. I was not expecting such a long time for that. I hope our next encounter is much better than what this first one has been.

I like that CHW finds techs to repair appliances/systems. I like how easy it is to request service and check status on the website. I don't like how long it takes to get an appointment. I don't like that techs do not always answer their phone and I have to contact CHW to reach out to them. I don't like that techs do not always follow up with status and I have to contact CHW to reach out to them. I do not like when CHW decides to replace an appliance, it offers only a portion of the amount necessary to replace it and it is up to me to have it installed and have the old appliance hauled away.

Derrick was easy to talk to, sense of humor to keep things light, and personable. He explained the coverage and answered questions. A policy they offer is a large discount if you sign up for a 6 year policy. You have to pay rhe cost up front for 6 years but is a huge savings. If you should move you can take it with you..

The turnaround for maintenance is usually pretty quick. But there seems to be a shortage of HVAC maintenance people because I ended up getting the work for my AC done myself... otherwise we would have waited a long time. Customer service is good when you call. But, the website should be more user friendly...such as making a correction on the claims.

My experience overall is very good with CHW. Response time is good as is the follow up. I am satisfied with all but one contractor they sent out (a heat/AC company that wrote an inaccurate report so we would get the claim rejected then be ready to do a new install! They conned me and I lost my case with CHW. I am also waiting for our replacement E-Gift card for our dishwasher. I feel they are concerned about their customers and I would recommend them to other home owners.

The warranty is worth purchasing but you just have to be able to work through some red tape and make sure you do things in the order that the warranty demands. The time to get reimbursed for appliances is way too long. It is going to take 30 days for us to get an egift card to Lowes so we cannot get anything replaces until we get this. Too long of a wait.
