I am shocked when Choice denied payment to an electric company that needed to put the chandelier back up that fell down. My daughter and I were having a cup of coffee when the chandelier suddenly just fell down from the ceiling and was hanging there by a wire.Joyce did send somebody out and when they wanted to repair it, Choice said that it was not covered. I ended up paying out-of-pocket to have it repaired and all it needed was a simple little box reinstalled into the ceiling.

It has being a little difficult to communicate with customer service employees. They repeat themselves often and at times I do not think they understand what I am saying. When it comes to servicing our items, it can take a very long time for someone to come and fix you appliances! This last time it took a long time and I felt that you do not care that we as the customer will have a broken appliance for several days!

It took too long for the service techs to inspect the appliance and when they determined it could not be repaired Choice offered to send me a gift card to Lowe's to buy a replacement. The amount of the gift card was not near enough to cover the cost of a new appliance or the delivery and installation costs. I requested a check instead because I wanted to buy it elsewhere and I just received the check, two months after I filed the claim. I was very dissatisfied with the time it took and the amount that I was paid and wanted to cancel the balance of the warranty. I bought a three year warranty, paid in advance; there are six months left on the warranty but they will not refund any money for the balance of the warranty period. I absolutely will not renew and it's unlikely I will ever purchase another home warranty.

I had a heating system problem I November and December of 2024 it took them over 6 weeks to get some one to come out and when they did come out they didn't work on my type of system. All this time we were freezing to death. So I found my own person to fix my system. So to tell you the truth I am looking for another home warranty that doesn't take 6 weeks to get someone to look at my system they are not worth my time or money.

My house furnace was making a LOUD noise. I called to report the problem and that went well, they contacted a local contractor and they were at my home within four hours. The technician was excellent!! He explained what the problem was, contacted the warranty company and informed me “. the warranty company would not authorize the repair!” The reason they would not authorize the repair, “ the unit was running and producing heat”. They would not authorize any repairs until the unit was totally none functional! I have two choices pay for the repair, about, $1600 or wait until the unit is totally unrepairable. I don’t recommend this home warranty company!!

I am very upset because it took almost 16 days to get hot water back in my house. My 6 year water heater broke and because it was still under warranty choice would only pay for installation of the plumbing. They would not pay for any parts. Since it was 6 years old, water heater company would pay nothing but give another water heater. So I was out 75.00 for service call and another 1,100.00 to pay plumber. When I signed up for warranty I was told that I would only have to pay for service call. Not sure if the plumber or Choice Warranty fault or if they both just took advantage of me.

I moved into my house less than a year ago and had a couple issues a few months in. One issue was my fridge. Someone came out 4 times within a month and attempted to fix it 3 times with no luck. CHW ended up requiring me to complete a new request and pay and additional fee for someone else to come out who stated that it was a completely separate issue from the first technician. I was then informed that the warranty would NOT cover the fix. That has happened with another smaller issue where they said they would not cover it and I had to call to get them to cover it.

The surprises of the “fine print” can be shocking. We were without hot water for 11 days while we had visitors staying with us. The customer service employees did not understand the seriousness of our situation. It was a problem for us that Choice Home Warranty only had one contracted company in our area, and they had problems which could have made our situation much different if there had been another business.

Not receiving a contract at the start and being told certain rules apply that were never revealed before the fact such as partial payment for choosing the option of using a non-member, when members are not available. Overall, the consumer rankings say I'd be more unhappy with other warranty companies. I believe those rankings.

Original claim was denied. Claimed the tie line was leaking. It was not. They said I could try and disprove their theory. My regular ac guy said it was the evaporator coil. I also hired a third party ac technician to make a thorough inspection. He provided a written report that the tie line was not leaking and the problem was the evaporator coil. They ignored his report. The manufacture’s warranty covered the part (about $1700). They had stalled for a couple weeks and the temp was averaging 95 degrees. I went ahead with repairs. Both of the ac companies provided photos of the repairs. They denied this. I asked for an acknowledgement and that’s when they erased the tx thread and closed the file without a reason. Once we replaced the evaporator coil, our AC worked perfectly and is still working. I am still a customer, but I don’t know why. Is 2 stars too much?
