They say they cover normal wear and tear but that depends on what is broken. Sometimes you have fight for them to cover things they should. Its nice to have when something goes wrong but it can seem like a scam esp since they dont want to replace big ticket items. Ive had to use my warranty plan a lot and its helpful but dont get your hopes up for easy replacement of items.

The salesman presented a very complete and comprehensive coverage for my house with all of the electronics and appliances covered but it seems like they look for reasons to not cover rather than cover and if they do cover it, it takes a great deal of arguing and hassle back and forth to finally get that. My air conditioned compressor went out, it was less than five years old, and the technician they sent out said it was an electrical problem. I had one technician after another come to find if it was covered under the warranty. I had to pay they labor because choice decided they would not cover it. This seems to be a regular thing as it has happened with other customers as well.

From a deductible stand point, it is cheaper than American Home Shield. The only issue I’ve had is when my microwave needed to be replaced, they paid for the replacement but not the installation. Also it took three companies to get my AC up and running.

It is very difficult to get them to respond in a timely manner. It seems like it takes them a while to have get a repairman to come out, it takes 2 to 3 days. We have used them numerous times for different appliances and they were able complete the tasks, whether it is a repair or a replace.

Most of the time I would rate customer support high but one time it was poor. Representatives are good most of the time and some technicians are good but some are not. I think there should be a list of things they will not cover, it should not be in the very fine prince somewhere in the corner. It should be clear on the website.

Choice Home Warranty is average. Nothing has been exceptional. I’ve had good contractors and I’ve had bad contractors. I needed my ceiling fan dealt with. First I got an email saying they were having a hard time finding contractors in my area so I started shopping around but then they made the appointment and the person the picked never resolved the original issues.

Well the customer service was good but your policies leave a lot to be desired. For example repairing my AC System it shows AC Systems covered. When you get down to it only part of the system was covered leaving to pay over half of the charges. I could have paid for the repair with my regular AC guy for just a little more. I am not sure I agree that you have picked reputable contractors based on my experiences so far.

Over the last 10-plus years I have been generally happy with your company. I have had a couple of claims denied but it was explained and made sense. But honestly, I am very disappointed with my last claim, this denial was the tipping point, and I'm shopping your competition. I have had several 6-year policies, on multiple properties, since 2015. I've signed up several family members and friends and again we all may be looking for a change. The denial was for the 1109 Dorado Dr. A/C ducting leak, because of "too much" information and certain trigger words that your supervisor keyed in on, it was a flat rejection. The part that really burns me is your company did not even want to discuss the situation or figure out what the claim was for. I've called several times, ominously, and given this claim scenario, I was repeatedly told this situation would be covered. It was more the NO and that's the end of the explanation and the case was closed. To this day I feel I had a legitimate claim. I requested a review, all to no satisfaction. I had to lay out $1650.00 which should have been a covered claim. I even offered to split the amount and tried to work out some sort of compromise. All met with a "mechanical", seemingly practiced response of NO. A little human touch and the willingness to listen to a long-term customer to try to understand the situation, instead of fixating on a couple of poorly chosen words in the contractor's write-up. The "denial" team was not willing to reach out and talk to the contractor nor let him resubmit a corrected version of the work needed to complete the repairs to get a clearer understanding of the job. I would like to have this claim reopened, examined, and reevaluated. According to the several calls I made this should have been a valid covered claim. I had more work that needed to be done that was a big mess from the previous owners and CHW would ONLY fix one issue when the entire area needed to be done. Had a major water leak, been their over a year, CHW paid for the plumber but the wood, cabinets, sealing off mold was left for me when it was all connected. Previous homeowners paid $1,000.00 for a home warranty and it was $500. for plumbing and they wouldn't pay the rest. Very disappointed A good company but was told they wouldn't exceed the $1,000.00
