I received excellent service from both AHS as well as the appliance repair company they sent to repair the 42year old wall oven at my house. The oven Modern Maid is no longer even produced, but the technician from Burton's Appliance managed to find the parts and expertly repair the oven. Great job done by AHS and David Burton of Burton's Appliance.

I have AHS service contract for over 20 years to cover appliances in my house. Overall I am very satisfied with the coverage whenever I needed service to fix the problems. AHS is prompt in responding to my requests for service and follows up until the issue is resolved. My only negative comment is time it takes to reach the AHS agent when the issue escalates to repair or replace if the parts are not available. It takes average 45 minutes on phone to get agent online.

We have had AHS for several years. We have had several appliances serviced in our home...dryer, washer, fridge, stove, microwave and bathroom exhaust. AHSwas awesome to work with and the companies they sent were easy to work with. Our microwave stopped working recently and couldn't be fixed. All I needed to do was go to the approved website and pick one. AHS set up for installation. Very easy. All this was done under one deductible that I paid for the original service call. Would recommend AHS.

I have been with American Home Shield for about twenty years and have been very happy with their services. It is a wonderful feeling to know if any appliances fail, I am covered to have them fixed or replaced. We even had our air conditioner replaced. In most cases repair folks call immediately to set up a repair time. I think the monthly fee and co-pay are worth the money.

AHS was great, I just purchased my home in March and the inspector didn't see any problems with my AC but when it was time to use the AC, there was a problem. I called AHS, and they sent a company out to evaluate the problem and they discovered that I needed a new compressor, it would have cost me over $2,000 to replace the part but all I had to pay was a $75.00 service fee and $175.00 for the refrigerant. American Home Shield is the greatest! Our refrigerator went out 1 day before Hurricane Harvey hit. We were flooded in but not flooded, our little town was a island. When I made the call for service they were so helpful and fast. The places that should have serviced us could not get to us but they worked with me on the phone to find someone who could. As soon as they were able to reach us the refrigerator was replaced. I found them to be so willing to go above and beyond during a difficult time to help us.

I was very happy with my experience with AHS when my water heater quit working. I reported it via computer and received a prompt reply with a referral to a service company. Since the problem happened on a week-end the plumber came out on Monday. He fixed the problem, checked out the water heater completely and even discovered that some of my circuit breakers had been mislabeled for over 20 years. He fixed those as well. He was very professionable and knowledgeable. I was very happy with the service.

AHS was remarkable. The repair concerns a refrigerator. The technician was sent out within 24 hours of logging in for repairs. He could not repair. I was given an option of a generous cash settlement or selecting a refrig from there options or one from anywhere. I choose to select one from an outside source within the offered price. It was delivered promptly. The delivery men were wonderful. Could not be more pleased with replacement frig The charge was paid quickly by AHS. AHS could not have been better!!!

I contacted AHS on line on a Sat afternoon regarding our water heater. I received a call from the plumbing company on Sunday to set an appointment for Monday morning. The plumber arrived on time. The water heater needed replaced. The first available appointment to replace was the next morning. The plumber arrived with a helper, again on time, to replace the water heater. They were done within an hour. A half hour later I had hot water. Fast, Easy, Convenient! What more can I say.

I have been trying to contact America Home Shield concerning my Whirlpool Microwave since 9/8/2017. The contractor came out and checked it out.Later I found out the company no longer have the part to repair the Microwave from AHS. I have been trying to contact AHS to try and get this matter solved but I am always put on hold for 1 hour or longer> I would appreciate if some one would contact me to solve this matter. I have received (2) two E-mail about my contract will be cancelled I have paid the contractor for their service which was $75.00 on9/6/2017 and my Bank account is debited monthly for payments. My dryer wet out and I went on line to request repair. The company immediately sent me a confirmation and notice as to which repair service would contact me. They called the next morning and scheduled an appointment to come and repair my dryer. The service technician showed up on time and was able to quickly repair the dryer with parts he had on his truck. He was quick, quiet and cleaned up after himself. I am very glad I have American Home Shield coverage!

We had an issue with our washing machine's door and scheduled an appointment with HSA online. Once the service company was assigned, I read their reviews and realized that they have many negative ones. So I called HSA and asked them to change the service company. The lady I talked to gave me a few company names and patiently waited on the phone for me to read their reviews. I finally picked one and she re-scheduled our appointment with the new company. I should say that it took me a while to get to the customer service rep, but she really did a great job.

We have had AHS for 4 years now. We have requested service twice (furnace and oven) and both times we had a great experience. It's super easy to request service - just log into your account and fill out the form and pay. In both cases, a service provider called me back within 2 hours of submission to set up an appointment. The service providers were both great - on time, had the parts with them, fixed the problem.

American Home Shield has been a remarkable source of affordable domestic assurance for my family. They kept it from becoming truly expensive. They constantly ensure that everything I request is taken care of. I would without a doubt recommend them because every time I call, they pick a company to come out, and they call me back within an hour, give me a call, and let me know what time they can come, which is awesome. They consistently call me right away absent and let me know exactly when they'll be out of the office. The majority of those who were chosen were genuinely excellent at what they did. They were professionals who put on their booties recently.

I received this warranty policy in connection with a home purchase. Being an older home I didn't know what problems lurked. Fortunately I did because I had a number of minor plumbing and electrical issues. The deductible for each repair was only $75.00 , which is $10 or more less than the competition. Since there was an occasion when the problem was not resolved, I didn't have to pay any additional fees. I saved a considerable amount of money and hassle thanks to this policy. The company was highly responsive. They were very helpful when I needed assistance, and contacting a real person was very easy. Their online site was easy to navigate. The technicians were of adequate competence and service was good. The company seemed interested in my satisfaction. However, apparently they lost money on me, so they were not willing to offer me a new policy when the first one terminated after a year.

I never knew there were so many home protection companies. I chose American Home Shield many years ago and are very happy with them. I have had many claims as the years wet by and each and every time they were very quick to respond and fix any problem to my satisfaction. They fix or replaced our washing machine, stove, refrigerator, air conditioner many times and many other things. When ever I called they had service people over the next day to repair or replace the problem. Every time I called in they always asked if there is anything else that needs repair. They replaced many items because they were beyond repair without any argument. There are many choices for home repair, but there is only one AMERICAN HOME SHIELD. I'm very lucky I selected them to start off with. I have no desire to switch because nobody could possibly give me better service. If you try American Home Shield you will see yourself why I will not chance changing to another company. When you are 100% satisfied with a companies services why change!!! I hope you are smart enough to try them first, as I did.

Have used American Home Shield for two different houses. First house in Stockton. Had to make a call when my AC was not working. Hard to test that in the winter. It took a week to get a tech to come service it but that was faster then if I tried myself because I did call around and check. A heatwave does that. So no issues on that. I had it for the second house I purchased and currently live in. Used it twice in 18 months. The first time for a burner on my stove that failed and the second time for a light in the kitchen controlled by two different wall switches. The tech was good. No issues.

AHS adds plenty of value for their service. For example, their max coverage is less than their service fee, at around $68 per month, has given me great piece of mind. Like many homeowners who've bought existing homes recently, the appliances that are left behind, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc., tend to be in good working order and usually of a decent look, so we keep them around. The issue with doing that is that the warranties on those items are typically expired when you close, so unless you have some funds in the bank for a costly repair and/or replacement, AHS covers you. Not only is their coverage fair and comprehensive, but I've also submitted a couple of claims in the past 4 years and the caliber of the contractors has been great. Moreover, AHS has improved their website's UI and features so that with some claims, you can choose your preferred contractor based on customer reviews and such. This feature has been invaluable to me and has caused me to continue purchasing coverage from AHS and even become a customer of those contractors when in need of non-claim services.

Some people don't know about Home Warranty coverage. I didn't know about it until a few years ago when money got tight and everything needed to stay on budget. One thing people overlook is the need to keep their appliances in good working order. Just when you don't need an added expense, your refrigerator or over or washing machine will breakdown. Repairs sometimes cost more than buying a new appliance. Unlike homeowner insurance, home warranties will give you incentive for covering the cost of necessary home items. Homeowner insurance coverage handles natural disasters and fire, theft. But sometimes the refrigerator breaks down and you can't afford to buy a new one. This is where the home warranty comes in. We have had policies with this company for multiple homes that we have lived in. We have also had policies with them for homes and apartments that we used as rentals. They have been easy to communicate and they have covered things that have broken like hearing and air conditioning systems. They are quick to come out and inspect problems and quick to get things fixed. We are very satisfied as customers of their company. As long as you make the recommended cleaning and inspections and keep service records, you will be spared from major expenses to have them fixed when they break or stop working properly.

In the past year, every time I put in a service request, the assigned provider does not contact me. Last time, I ended up cancelling the request and paying out of pocket for service after 3 weeks. This time, the same thing is happening. We have almost a month out, and I still have a leaking pipe!

We had been with American Home Shield for over a year. Our refrigerator stopped working on May 16th, 2025. we called AHS on the 17th and they sent a technician who was scheduled to come on the 20th. he showed up outside of the three hour window we had to take time off to be there for and then he said the compressor was bad and that he wouldn't repair it -it wasn't worth his time. American Home Shield then sent a second company who never showed up at all. Finally on May 23rd they were supposed to come to diagnose the fridge(again) they were also late and called to say there was traffic. We told them the tech before and they said they would put in for the compressor and updated software. The parts would take a week and be shipped to me. The parts came and we had to wait another few days to get an appointment. the company then called during the time they were scheduled to show up and said they didn't have the tools they needed and would have to reschedule (another week....) They finally came and had to come back 4 times but were unable to fix the fridge. They put in for a replacement. American Home Shield made us wait another week until June 20th at 5:25 to say that they granted the replacement but were only giving us $643 of the $2000 they were supposed to give us because we had to pay all the previous technicians. We filed with BBB and are going to make a point of communication how unresponsive they were throughout the whole process. When you try to call American Home Shield you get someone who barely speaks english and can never help you. 36 days without a refrigerator - good thing we had home insurance to cover the cost of expensive repairs/replacement...I am so disappointed in American Home Shield and I hope no one else chooses to use their service.

Lone star appliance repair in Virginia did a great job. The problem was Choice Home Warranty. They took the $100 deductible from me, and scheduled a tech with a time and date to come to my house. I get an email from choice saying my appointment is confirmed. A few hours later I get another email saying the appointment is cancelled. I couldn't get in contact with anyone with choice to find out what was going on. Four days passes and I get a random text from a service technician from another company saying he'd be to my place tomorrow. That's great but there was zero communication from choice.

Complete dismissal of how unsafe this was for my family has left me feeling unheard, unprotected, and questioning the value of the service I’ve paid into for years. I initially contacted AHS at the end of March about a failed AC unit. I live in FL, where temperatures in March already reach into the mid-80s. I have proof that my home’s interior temperature climbed to 86°F, despite running every fan available. This isn’t simply uncomfortable—it’s dangerous, especially for children. When I reach out the messaging minimized this reality, suggesting it only becomes unsafe in “extreme temperatures.” That response was not only inaccurate, but dismissive of the clear health risks we were facing. The “solutions” I was given were either: 1. Pay for an upgrade out of pocket, or 2. Source and pay an outside HVAC company to attempt the repair—if they could even locate the backordered part (both tech and Geri told me there was a strong possibility they would not). In that case, I would only be given $600. Waiting 90 days in Florida heat was never a viable or safe option, yet that’s what your company suggested. What exactly were we supposed to do in the meantime—continue subjecting ourselves to unhealthy and unsafe living conditions? It is absolutely unacceptable to place your customers in that position. Because the part was unavailable and no timely repair was possible, your obligation under the contract was to provide a replacement. Instead, I was left with no choice but to act on my own, spending $3,494 to ensure the health and safety of my family. The $125 offered to me is not only insufficient—it adds insult to injury given the seriousness of what we endured. I’m not just disappointed. I feel abandoned by a company that promised to protect my home and stand behind its coverage. I have been a loyal customer for years. I never imagined I’d be left alone in a situation that jeopardized my family’s health. I will continue to escalate this matter until it is addressed appropriately and fairly.

Extremely Disappointed with Service - A Health Hazard for My Family I am beyond frustrated with the way my case has been handled by this company. Our AC broke down on March 25, and the compressor needs to be replaced. Despite repeated calls to customer service, we have received no clear answers or urgency. I explained multiple times that we have a baby in the house and the indoor temperature is reaching 83°F, making it unbearable and unsafe. On March 28, we were told that the necessary parts would not arrive until April 8—over two weeks from the date of the breakdown. This is completely unacceptable! Living in Las Vegas, the extreme heat is a serious health concern, and I’m deeply worried about the well-being of my baby, who could be at risk of serious health issues. Yet, all we’ve been told is to "wait." The lack of urgency or even basic concern for our safety is incredibly disappointing. This is not the service I signed up for, and I will not be renewing my contract. I strongly advise others to think twice before signing up with this company. If you value your family’s safety and well-being, look elsewhere.

When I was deciding on subscribing with AHS the sales representative told me that AHS removers the AC unit off the roof. Then after subscribing I was told that AHS DOES NOT REMOVE the old AC off the roof. THEY LIED in order to get a new subscription!
