While the communication with American Home Shield can occasionally be a challenge (e.g. long wait time to speak with live representative), the quality of service provided by the company - as measured by its licensed contractors arriving on time and performing reliable repairs - is excellent! We carefully researched various home warranty firms and understand why AHS enjoys a positive reputation, as evidenced by the large number of independent customer reviews. It is without hesitation we would recommend them to other homeowners!

We have been a policy holder with AHS for 13 years. I can't speak for others but we have greatly benefited from our coverage. Any issue that has come up has been taken care of by AHS and we are very pleased with the fact that they repair or replace exactly what the policy states. We had an AC compressor go bad. I called AHS and they assigned the job to AirBoss here in the Tampa area. They called within 30 minutes of being assigned, were very informative, sent guys out who confirmed the problem and ordered the replacement compressor. When it came in they called to schedule the installation, and did so with no issues. We paid the service fee and cost of refrigeration above the AHS covered limit. That's what the contract called for so we are happy with the way the process went. We have absolutely no complaints with either AHS or AirBoss Mechanical Tampa

I called Anerican Home Shield to report I had a problem with my stove, It was not lighting properly and had a crack in glass surface possibly effecting the lighting. Suffolk Appliance responded to the request with in an hour to set up an appointment to check the stove. The tech reviewed and made up a parts list and once the parts were in, they scheduled repair which included a top replacement and rebuilding of 4 burners. Very pleased with result, I was surprised they found the parts.

So far I have four properties with AHS. Recently just replaced ice maker on both refrigerators, Heat Pump that was 20 years old, and they stepped up and paid for the damaged item, saving me $1400 towards an upgraded unit from 13 Seer to 16 Seer, Stove 20 years old with coils, totally replaced, but I upgraded for $200 for flat top, and other issues during the year as far as maintenance on heat pumps. Reason for choosing AHS is the potential cost of water heaters, heat pumps/ Hvac, and plumbing. It pays for older homes.

My husband and I have had AHS since July of last year (2018). We've made three services calls of which two were completed exceedingly. one was a problem with the ice-maker in the refrigerator of which AHS sent out a technician within a day or two determined appliance was not repairable and was informed of options for replacement and within 10 days a new refrigerator was delivered at absolutely no cost to us. Second call was regarding a an electrical issue of which AHS sent an electrician and repaired promptly and satisfactory. I would have give 5 star rating were it not for the issue regrading HVAC repairs. This has been an ongoing issue for the last couple months but I honestly believe this is due to the contractor the has been assigned to repair the appliance. Overall I would recommend AHS to friends and family, my only critique is the company can do a better job answering the call when service is needed or implement a website that allows customer to freely interact with representative for on-going issues and follow-ups.

I’ve had coverage fro AHS for 10yrs on my current home and have always had an excellent experience with any and all repairs. I’ve had to use my coverage on average once a year. Not having their coverage is like not having insurance on my vehicle to me . I highly recommend this company. Over the years they have streamlined the process to file a service request and have chosen very experienced companies to handle the issues!

They were kind, friendly, professional, and very courteous. Also, when my furnace went out on a very cold Michigan winter day. They came right out and fixed it. They are a reliable company. I’ve had American Home Shield for about 8 years and have never even a questionable interaction with the company . The employees of the company have always been professional, courteous, and respectful. The repair personnel have been professional and taken care of repairs or replacements of unrepairable object in question. I am a single female, 70 years old.. having AHS keeps me from being taken advantage of by companies that don’t have my best interest in mind. I think every single female that owns their own home should have this coverage.

American Home Shield assigns a contractor for the particular problem once I file a claim. This time it was plumbing, specifically, my hot water heater. The original contractor would not respond to my calls so I contacted the company and we discussed assigning Camden Services. I have had previous excellent experience with this company and this time was the same. They responded quickly and did a perfect job. I am grateful to them as well as AHS for assigning this company without argument. Thanks for the professional assistance on both of your parts. RP

I had a French Door refrigerator that one of the bottom drawers did not freeze right and had a lot of ice build up. Call the first time and they came to my house and spent a few hour to do the repair. Worked good for a few month., Then it stop working again, so filed a new claim and the repair man came in said he had to order a new part and would return in a week. After a week passed did hear back form his so call the repair man and he informed me that the part was no longer made.. After that AHS they paid to replace mine with a new Refrigerator. Very happy with there service..

I reside in California. On three separate occasions, I have used the services of AHS, once for the water heater, second time for my furnace and thermostat, and a third time for the a/c. Each time, the AHS rep answered the phone promptly and was very courteous. The service providers always called me within 24 hours to set up an appointment service time . All repair jobs were done professionally and efficiently. So far, I have been pleased with AHS and their contracted service providers.

I would not be without AHS. I started out with American Home Shield's, and for some crazy reason I went to another company. As soon as that contract year was up because of the difficulties I had with that company, I came running back to American Home Shield as fast as I could. I say this is a reputable company that stands by there commitment of professionalism for their customers. Most satisfied with American Home Shield's. I also say THANK YOU AHS, FOR THE SERVICES YOU HAVE PROVIDED TO MY HOME. And I would recommend this company to anyone.

I guess this was partly our fault, but when we needed our furnace repaired, the technician indicated he has approved for us to purchase the thermostat since he didn't have one like the one we had to replace it with . He indicated AHS would reimburse us in full for the cost and we purchased one like the one we had. That in fact was not the case, they would only reimburse for a set amount and not what we had paid. We felt with all the years we have been with AHS and not had many claims, they could have reimbursed us for the full amount. We were not pleased with this outcome. We am, by the way, still waiting for the reimbursement.

An AHS warranty was included for a year when i purchased my house in 2011. We started having electrical issues and AHS came out and two awesome techs fixed us all up. Since then I've had an old washer repaired, stopped up drains cleared, a new well pump (in like 4 hours from call to completion), and a old oven repaired. All service has fabulous. My mom has AHS warranties on all her properties now too. I think AHS is a must have, especially for older homes.

My furnace went out after purchasing this home 6 months ago. I went online and submitted a claim at 0400 in the morning and the agents from American Home shield got back to me within a couple hours. They had a HVAC technician out there that day and it was repaired within 3 days due to needing to order a part. Absolutely the best investment I've made, the one year plan cost $600 that the sellers paid for and this repair alone would've cost $800 but I only paid $70 for the service call. Would definitely recommend American Home Shield if you are purchasing a house.

Sigmond Plumbing did an excellent job in replacing our water heater. They came the next day to check it out and found a leak so they contacted American Home Shield with the assessment and indicated that it needed to be replaced. They came the next day and replaced it that evening. They were very professional and courteous. I would not have anyone else service my plumbing needs. Outstanding service!

They have always been very responsive to our requests. After a very frustrating warranty issue with a 13 month old refrigerator with interactions with Sears regarding the failed compressor, numerous calls to Sears corporate offices, an AHS representative was extremely interactive with Sears to work out a solution. She was the reason it was resolved without additional costs to us.

I've been a member of AHS for over ten years and have benefit greatly from my warranty contract with them. There have been a few incidents where their selection of service technicians are in questioned. I have had conflicts with initial service visit payment, in which I had to send to AHS the honored pay stub from the bank as proof of payment. After 10 years of membership, I find this somewhat disturbing and insulting. However, it would seems that I was not alone in this conflict, AHS has recently given its members the option pay the initial service on online when putting in a new claim, which is good but they still need to run better background checks before assigning service technicians to their customer's claims.

The only problem I have is customer service wait time.. The other day I called my wait time was over an hour, which i could have done other things instead of staying on hold. The customer service rep was very pleasant and helpful which was great. Will continue with you.

Pro: for only a minimal service fee I have 13 major items in my home covered for parts and labor. Labor is the most expensive part. Recently, I learned that for just one service fee ( mine is $125 per visit) I can group numerous repairs at one time for the one same service fee. I like that. A recently changed policy I also like is that I can now opt to have my service fee charged only after 2 days after the job has been completed instead of before and I also like that I pay American Home Shield directly instead of the old way which was to pay the contractor directly. Customer service when needed is par excellence. Con: A small con is that I cannot choose my own contractor I research or at very least can choose among a group that American Home Shield offers. Currently, there is no choice. The worst part of all is that calling to speak with billing is near impossible and frustrating. Also, they increase your monthly subscription every year with absolutely no form of negotiation or loyalty (years as a customer or "lifetime Value") usage, amount of items covered measured to determine, customize, maintain same subscription price or even reduce. This is a big problem that could eventually sever my relationship with American Home Shield one day. If they have integrity they will put my pros and cons on their website untouched! Let's see.

I called about my furnace/ heat pump. They said they would send someone out. He came and didn't say much of anything. I called AHS and asked what was going on. They said he had ordered a compressor. I asked for a second opinion. They said it would cost me $100 if he agreed with the 1st opinion. He didn't. He explained everything to me and wrote it all out and it was a coverter (pitted ) and replaced it Troy Heating and Air was a quick, efficient, and reliable service.

Over the years I have had certain appliances break down and having AHS saved me a lot of money. It's worth having even if you only use it once a year. Just pay the deductible and your set. AHS is prompt with getting the subcontractor to get in touch with you either the same or next business day to set up an appointment. Having AHS will be your best investment you can ever have when you own a home.

I’ve experienced AHS and their competitors. Based on home appliance services offered, customer service, their repair service vendors, response and customer recovery, I would highly recommend AHS. While other companies don’t hesitate for a moment to deduct funds without fulfilling or completing services requests, AHS ensures that my needs and that of my home is taken care of first.

Great company, I have used him for several years now. They provide excellent coverage and will fix anything covered on the warranty with no questions asked. I have use them for several large items in my home to include my entire HVAC system and they water heater. Both for a place with only paying the deductible. They use reputable contractors to do the service calls. The only complaint I have is the few times I have needed to call it has been a 30 to 45 minute wait. Fortunately all your service calls and work orders can be done on the mobile app.

American Home Shield it's easy to put in a claim for broken stuff. The website is user-friendly. They do what they say immediately you get a return email with the information of the contractor coming out and the contractor called you the next day and set up an appointment it's worth every penny you pay. The fee they charge very reasonable. I have saved a lot of money using this warranty service

I was a member when you just called in for service and spoke to a friendly customer representative. I left for a year several years ago but then signed back on after a year and plan to stay with a company I feel has been reliable and professional. There have been a couple of bumps along the way but they were positively worked out. With today prices on home services, it pays to have a company that can help you out a bit.

I was having problems with my air conditioner...called AHS and they took care of everything. A local company was at our house within a couple of days..assessed the problem and fixed it. AHS automatically deducted our fee and that was the end of the story. How easy could that be and how nice when everything is usually such a nightmare to get things done to have someone take control and do the work for you. I could not be happier with my first experience.

I received excellent service from both AHS as well as the appliance repair company they sent to repair the 42year old wall oven at my house. The oven Modern Maid is no longer even produced, but the technician from Burton's Appliance managed to find the parts and expertly repair the oven. Great job done by AHS and David Burton of Burton's Appliance.

I have AHS service contract for over 20 years to cover appliances in my house. Overall I am very satisfied with the coverage whenever I needed service to fix the problems. AHS is prompt in responding to my requests for service and follows up until the issue is resolved. My only negative comment is time it takes to reach the AHS agent when the issue escalates to repair or replace if the parts are not available. It takes average 45 minutes on phone to get agent online.

We have had AHS for several years. We have had several appliances serviced in our home...dryer, washer, fridge, stove, microwave and bathroom exhaust. AHSwas awesome to work with and the companies they sent were easy to work with. Our microwave stopped working recently and couldn't be fixed. All I needed to do was go to the approved website and pick one. AHS set up for installation. Very easy. All this was done under one deductible that I paid for the original service call. Would recommend AHS.

I have been with American Home Shield for about twenty years and have been very happy with their services. It is a wonderful feeling to know if any appliances fail, I am covered to have them fixed or replaced. We even had our air conditioner replaced. In most cases repair folks call immediately to set up a repair time. I think the monthly fee and co-pay are worth the money.

AHS was great, I just purchased my home in March and the inspector didn't see any problems with my AC but when it was time to use the AC, there was a problem. I called AHS, and they sent a company out to evaluate the problem and they discovered that I needed a new compressor, it would have cost me over $2,000 to replace the part but all I had to pay was a $75.00 service fee and $175.00 for the refrigerant. American Home Shield is the greatest! Our refrigerator went out 1 day before Hurricane Harvey hit. We were flooded in but not flooded, our little town was a island. When I made the call for service they were so helpful and fast. The places that should have serviced us could not get to us but they worked with me on the phone to find someone who could. As soon as they were able to reach us the refrigerator was replaced. I found them to be so willing to go above and beyond during a difficult time to help us.

I was very happy with my experience with AHS when my water heater quit working. I reported it via computer and received a prompt reply with a referral to a service company. Since the problem happened on a week-end the plumber came out on Monday. He fixed the problem, checked out the water heater completely and even discovered that some of my circuit breakers had been mislabeled for over 20 years. He fixed those as well. He was very professionable and knowledgeable. I was very happy with the service.

AHS was remarkable. The repair concerns a refrigerator. The technician was sent out within 24 hours of logging in for repairs. He could not repair. I was given an option of a generous cash settlement or selecting a refrig from there options or one from anywhere. I choose to select one from an outside source within the offered price. It was delivered promptly. The delivery men were wonderful. Could not be more pleased with replacement frig The charge was paid quickly by AHS. AHS could not have been better!!!

I contacted AHS on line on a Sat afternoon regarding our water heater. I received a call from the plumbing company on Sunday to set an appointment for Monday morning. The plumber arrived on time. The water heater needed replaced. The first available appointment to replace was the next morning. The plumber arrived with a helper, again on time, to replace the water heater. They were done within an hour. A half hour later I had hot water. Fast, Easy, Convenient! What more can I say.

I have been trying to contact America Home Shield concerning my Whirlpool Microwave since 9/8/2017. The contractor came out and checked it out.Later I found out the company no longer have the part to repair the Microwave from AHS. I have been trying to contact AHS to try and get this matter solved but I am always put on hold for 1 hour or longer> I would appreciate if some one would contact me to solve this matter. I have received (2) two E-mail about my contract will be cancelled I have paid the contractor for their service which was $75.00 on9/6/2017 and my Bank account is debited monthly for payments. Thank You

My dryer wet out and I went on line to request repair. The company immediately sent me a confirmation and notice as to which repair service would contact me. They called the next morning and scheduled an appointment to come and repair my dryer. The service technician showed up on time and was able to quickly repair the dryer with parts he had on his truck. He was quick, quiet and cleaned up after himself. I am very glad I have American Home Shield coverage!

We had an issue with our washing machine's door and scheduled an appointment with HSA online. Once the service company was assigned, I read their reviews and realized that they have many negative ones. So I called HSA and asked them to change the service company. The lady I talked to gave me a few company names and patiently waited on the phone for me to read their reviews. I finally picked one and she re-scheduled our appointment with the new company. I should say that it took me a while to get to the customer service rep, but she really did a great job.

We have had AHS for 4 years now. We have requested service twice (furnace and oven) and both times we had a great experience. It's super easy to request service - just log into your account and fill out the form and pay. In both cases, a service provider called me back within 2 hours of submission to set up an appointment. The service providers were both great - on time, had the parts with them, fixed the problem.
