I like the ease of filing the claims. I don’t like to pay a monthly amount AND a service fee every time, especially if I don’t use for several months out of the year. Essentially I’m just prepaying for the repair. But there is value in the small service fee, as all of my repairs and replacement parts have been covered (which I may have had to come out of pocket more without a warranty).

We had two issues after we bought our house, rekeying and two appliances that had some issues not detected in our inspection reports. Both of the technicians who came out went right to work and the house was rekeyed in about 10 minutes and the appliance issues detected quickly. One was fixed immediately and the other took some cycles to resolved but we followed our advice to the letter and all is working fine. Friendly, knowledgeable teachnicians and a reasonable service fee, you cannot beat that.

You did your part on finding someone for the job,but getting the service done by the appliance company took to long to come & fix the problem. We were without our refrigerator for a week & had to throw away most of the food. Perhaps you need more service providers to provide help. The job was done efficiently & the worker was professional. We appreciate that. Just need things done in a timely matter not a week out in some matters. Thank you.

at first I was skeptical but I was very impressed about the prompt service. when I scheduled for repairs I was set up with the reverse service within the hour. both times has been professionally prepare services. fix my problems when it came to my heat pumps and AC units. I own two on my house. had problems with both of them. I was amazed that a repair both of them with no questions asked. they are the real deal American home shield. appreciate and very thankful that I have purchased this insurance on my appliances. had little cost to me per month. thank you so much! AHS makes it easy to file a claim and get whatever it is fixed. Being in a rural area sometimes it's hard for AHS to find a contractor or service representative to come fix what needs to be fixed, so being able to work with AHS and getting a prior authorization to seek for service repair allows us to get our appliances fixed in a timely manner. Plus the contractors that do come out for AHS are professional and courteous.

I like that AHS has stood behind their warranty to replace if an item cannot be fixed. I use AHS for my personal property and two rental homes. Only negative thing is that it takes 2-3 days before you get a scheduled appointment from the repair service and at times, that’s just too long especially if your dealing with your cooling/heating unit.

Used this company for 11 years never any issues always came out asap when something was not working .I moved and tried a new company they were much cheaper and d took weeks to come out.i switched back to ahs paid the extra and had peace of mind.when you buy a new home things mysteriously break ahs fixes everything inckuded in your package which is awesome.after 3 years.. I really had no issues in my home at all. If you want fast service and items in your home fixed correctly and promptly i.e heating and air-conditioning pay the extra for ahs..

I’m so glad my brother told me to renew my AHS Warranty! Washer, dryer, refrigerator all repaired or replaced. No hassle. So worth it! I recommend AHS to all my friends and family. I can’t afford not to have my AHS!

company is easy to work with, but I would never use (whirlpool site to order like products) we just had to replace our dishwasher and was sick and didn't get to the replacement options for 3 days, whirlpool had only given us 2 wp options and a GE option, so from the picture description as there were no physical descriptions other that it had most of the features that we currently had, so I ordered this product rather than opting for the $786 e card to Lowes. When we received the dishwasher, it was far below our current dishwasher. Lowes price was $439 for the one offered by whirlpool so where is the like product. We now also have to pay an $100 restocking fee. I would just warn no to use the replacement companys products. Take the money and go to the store to make your purchase.

I have used them twice so far this year and they seems to get good service companies and fairly fast. This is my first year with them, I was with another group in the past but they seemed not to have a good rep with local service companies and several times I had to wait for a month to get an Electrical or other service to contact me about my issue. AHS seem to have a better report with businesses in my area.

Unfortunately, on two occasions I contacted a service rep to discuss what was covered with my policy. I called about a garbage disposal repair and was told that appliance was not covered. Only to find out after paying out of pocket and requesting a copy of my policy, the disposal was covered. On a second request involving my microwave oven, which is built into the home, I was again told that appliance was not covered. After purchasing a new microwave, I find that the microwave was indeed covered by my policy. I know it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure they are aware of the coverage purchased, but, trustworthiness of service reps should be above reproach at all times also. I have been with AHS for many years while in service to my country and moved around some. This does not detract from the overall service I have received throughout the years. But, it did put a good dent in my finances. If I had to recommend or make a suggestion; please ensure information provided to clients/customers is accurate as many of us get really busy with every day life and we rely heavily on experts like you to provide quality, timely, accurate, and affordable service. Years ago it was suggested by our realtor and mortgage representative to purchase American Home Shield. Of course, I've seen the commercials, but never considered the expense as necessary. Reluctantly, purchased American Home Shield. 2 years later, unexpectedly we had experienced some extremely bad weather that had ruined some valuable electronics and appliances. Fortunately, American Home Shield reliable service didn't waste any time helping, not with repairs, but replacements. I have always had wonderful experiences with AHS…The response time was always extremely fast for me when I needed services. One day up to two was the longest I ever had to wait for a callback from the contractor for the service needed. I had my AC go out and they fixed it. Garbage disposal and more. It would have cost so much without AHS which only cost me a co-pay of $75. You can add on a pool and so much more also. I highly recommend this company to protect your home and get things fixed for simply a co-pay.

We have had AHS for many years and they have been very responsive to our appliance repair needs. They have provided timely responses to repairs or replacements of the covered appliance. In case we want to upgrade they have provided a reasonable value for our replacement. Their fees for service have gone up over the years from $35 to $75 per call. Also, the coverage cost has gone up substantially due to our repair claims. That has gone up from nearly $50 to $103. This has resulted in us looking at their competitors who provide lower fees. Though we like AHS we certainly cannot afford the higher coverage costs.

First time using my warranty service & I was thoroughly pleased. I needed to get my exhaust fans serviced because they looked clogged but just needed cleaning. After speaking with the rep to create the work order I was contacted by the electrician within 20 mins of hanging up & Willobee Electric was at my home the following day and asked to come an hour earlier which was great!

The company they sent me to was here in 24 hours and my AC is working better than it has in years. That says a lot about American Home Shield. I called in for a service ticket related to my water heater not working. I spoke with the plumbing company assigned the next day. The company was supposed to come 2 days later, but had a cancellation and came and fixed my issue the next day. Home Shield investment is one of the best investments you can make into your home. He diagnosed the problem and within 24 hours AHS had authorized the repair of all the issues. Based on an experience from this past weekend, I am giving you a 4-star rating and here is why. When I contacted AHS on Saturday (weekend) concerning my dryer, that was supposed to be fixed a few days before, but was not, deep down I expected the repair to happen right same or next day. Today is Monday, and after even 2 days, I have not yet heard anything about my appointment. I am sitting here and thinking, how can AHS be in my world when I call in for a messed up dryer? Some issues cannot wait for days. This is an open question and I want to share because maybe AHS can relook into this service aspect from the customer's world/view and make some critical repairs be done even during a weekend. Thanks for reading this point and I am sending this with great appreciation and sense of curiosity and making a bigger difference in the world.

Our HVAC Unit had a problem with the heat & would not shut off. I called AHS and they promptly relayed my service order to Burleson Services, Inc., with whom they had contracted for our area of Florida. They scheduled an appointment with us within a couple of days. Mike, the technician who showed up was knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. He promptly diagnosed the issue and replaced the broken part, all within one hour. The unit is working perfectly. Very pleased with AHS.

I was very pleased with the service from AHS. The two contractors I needed to have come in contacted me in less than 48 hours, and both had come and performed their services within another 48 hours. Very prompt, and both were very courteous. The contractor I had come in to perform the repairs on the HVAC will need to return to charge the AC system once the weather warms up. He left me a business card so I'll need to contact them when things warm up.

They have covered me on 2 homes, and the peace of mind I have comes from the timely service, rain or shine (sometimes snow), of their contracted service technicians. The repair/replacement coverage has been very generous, too. I’ve had appliances repaired and replaced, a central heat/air conditioner replaced, and several service calls for electrical and plumbing. AHS is a reliable friend to homeowners, especially those who have little skill or time to devote to home repairs.

I never expected to have to use the insurance so soon. Discovered the water heater had a large split down the back. It was a painless experience. The only issue was getting a plumber quickly. AHS was quick to resolve that by locating another plumber that was able to get us service sooner. I definitely would recommend AHS to any new home owner. This is our first experience with AHS.

When I purchased my new home (condo), it came with a 2 year home warranty. Once the 2 year warranty expired, I needed a Home Warranty that would fit my budget. The one that came with my home purchase was too expensive for my budget. AHS was the best option for me. My parents have AHS and love it. When I turned on the heat (this year 2020), my furnace started blowing out cool air instead of heat. I called to have it checked out and serviced. The service guy informed me of a leak and the part would need to be replaced. I was informed of the cost for the repairs. Once the replacement part was paid for and was picked up, the Heating & air company used by AHS, came to make the repairs. The service guy, who came to fixed the repairs, ended up welding the areas of leakage; which means the replacement part was never used. Other than that, I am glad it was able to be fixed so i could have heat for the winter days ahead. Prayerfully, this repair will last for a while. If I didn't have AHS, the cost would have been much higher.

It's been a little hit-and-miss so far. I have placed 2 service requests. Both were filled relatively quickly. However the first - a home heating tune-up - was pretty badly managed. We never heard that the technician was being scheduled - so he in fact showed up completely unannounced. Hours later we got an email telling us he'd be there that morning. Well...he was! We just didn't expect him and were totally unprepared. So was he. We didn't get the tune-up checklist until that hours-later email, so we couldn't evaluate whether or not he did the things on the checklist (largely, he didn't). Overall, not a great experience. A customer service rep for AHS reached out to ask how it went. So I told him. But after telling us "hey we will fix this..." we haven't heard anything in about a week. Second experience was a little better. Had a plumber come out to check a few things. We were informed they were coming, we were ready this time. They did in fact check the things we noted, and gave us some good advice. Much smoother experience - worked basically as we would have expected it to. Hopefully that first situation was an anomaly. Let's see what the next service call brings...

I have had this policy for about 14 months. A few issues have come up with my pool equipment, and every time they have sent a technician out to either repair the problem or replace the equipment. I haven't had any issues with them and I am so happy. Several people told me home warranties were a waste of money, but as a single mom, I was afraid not to have one. I am thankful for the great customer service at American Home Shield and the contractors they use.

Have American Home Shield the last four years has saved us a tremendous amount of money. We actually didn't have to use it for the first two and last year we only had to use it once. But this year we have been pretty unlucky when it comes to appliances fritzing out and we would be royally screwed if we didn't have AHS helping us. My only complaint is their policy regarding switching contractors during work. I do understand why but it is also unfair to the customer to have to deal with unprofessional contractors trying to repair something, especially when having to deal with them for 3+ months. I would they would reconsider changing their minds on this and possibly doing a better job researching contractors to partner with (the one that we had a bad experience with is rated horribly online and a ton of people had the same issues with this contractor that we were having). Otherwise, highly recommend using AHS to protect appliances in your household!

1st time using American Home Shield. Need to have my washer looked at. Easily set up the appointment. They kept me informed -- tech came on site on time, got a text when he was on his way. He was very thorough. Fixed the issue -- ordered a part that had to be delivered, and came back the following week to install. Again, always notifying us when he was en route.

They were really quick to respond to my plumbing problem in our shower/tub. The technician (JR) responded to the plumbing problem that we had. He was very friendly and professional. Once I explained the problem we had he got right to work and fixed the plumbing issue within about 30 minutes. He explained what the problem was and left. He was very polite and professional. I highly recommend this Company. I have no complaints. Thanks

We have used American Home Shield over the years in several homes. The response time is usually next day (we never had a real emergency like a broken water pipe or no heat in winter), but judging by their conscientiousness I believe they would come same-day. They send out another contractor if the job was not fixed the first time, or if it recurs.

It was quick and easy to put in an order for someone to come look at my refrigerator. I just filled out the info online and made my payment. AHS communicated with me promptly and set up an appointment with someone local who also communicated with me promptly. The person who came to work on my fridge was professional and trustworthy, and was also mindful of COVID protocols. This was my first experience using AHS to solve an appliance issue, and it was an easy and positive experience.

I have used AHS for years. Infact, I had an electrical problem on Thursday evening, I reported it, was assigned the company and on Friday morning I was called to set up my appointment. I like the fact that you can request service 24 hrs a day. I have always had the servicing company contact me the next day. Very efficient and the companies that AHS contracts with have always given me great service.

So far I've been really happy with repairs that have been needed. My ac unit has been replaced, spa heater repaired and a pool pump repkaced. Only concern I've had is the repair man they sent the first time on the spa and heater had made false statement on needed repairs requiring another pool repair person to come out and make the repairs. I have no say on who comes out when you first file a claim. In the long run its costing the home warranty company more money by still using the first repair person. Happy with the home warranty and will renew it.

As a former RE broker have used in homes sold & my own recently . Most of my experiences are positive . I’ve had expensive ac repair ( but paid 500$ for freon) , House re-keyed, & new disposal. I paid for my refrigerator repair myself 150$ as I couldn’t wait for four days for repair. I would prefer the ability to choose my own service person from a list if provided . One company I cancelled out of town ( phoenix) had bad reviews on Yelp and was told they were “ run out of town” in tucson? Recently several phone calls to renew from numbers I don’t know and don’t usually answer . I answered recently and Josephine hung up on me after two word answer to her question? I’m also perplexed that it’s less expensive as a new customer than as a renewing customer? FYI calling can’t be a long wait to talk live sometimes not available at all live? Not favorable for older less computer savvy consumers ? Overall I’ve had Some help especially with my ac heat pump second time around. ( first repair just wanted to add freon at my expense and didn’t diagnose the reason for freon loss?) . In appealing to the phoenix home shield higher ups in phoenix they were able to help and remedy although time consuming . I’m happy I’ve had the shield this year and my daughter has it too.

American Home Shield makes repairs so easy. I called them with an AC problem. That day, I received a phone call from an AC&R company close to my home to set up an appointment for the next day. They gave me a 4-hour window when they would come. The repairman showed up in the allotted time, found the problem quickly, and had it repaired within 30 minutes. After a small deductible, Home Shield took care of payment, all I had to do was sign the work order. I am very happy with American Home Shield and the service they provide.

When my wife and I bought our home 3 years ago, a close friend recommended Home Shield. It has been one of the best things we ever did for ourselves. The coverage is very extensive and when something goes wrong we simply log on and make a claim. We are always contacted quickly and the problem is attended to within 24 hours. We have AHS policies for both of our households and have had since 2002. Overall, we are so thankful that we do. The hardest part of having the policies is waiting for service and communication from the service provider. Otherwise, we have no real complaints. Having AHS in place helps relieve the fear of malfunctions of our homes. That is especially important as we age.

I am NOT one to laud false praise, in fact, I’m generally the one to see issues and call them out, however, with AHS I cannot praise them highly enough! They have saved me thousands and they’ve made fixing issues so easy. I chose them after asking a friend who repairs appliances what comp y he’d recommend, and he immediately said AHS. They never argue a repair or replacement, and they make sure everything is done to my satisfaction. I would sing their praises to the world if I could!

The man that came out was very nice from US AIR COND. he checked the unit inside and outside. Told me he would need to place a order for unit inside the coils is the problems but would have to go thru AMERICAN HOME SHIELD TO get it. Approved So he could Get my air condition working again.......didn"t see a problem it happens to the unit. Thank you.....hoping to get it fixed soon......

We are so glad we purchased the policy. We live in Seattle and our home that has this policy is in North Las Vegas Nevada. We have used this 5 times since we purchased the house at the end of Feb 2020. Every business that has worked at our home has been willing to work directly with our renters once I have opened a case. I have had great feedback on each repair person. And in every case the repair was done same day or next day from opening a request. Can't live with out this policy if your home is in a different state!!!!

I love that the company is always exactly on point with what they offer when you call them for a service. They do exactly what they say they will do. They have provided new replacements to two appliances that failed, and were not repairable. The companies that they contract with have all been outstanding, and the service personnel of these companies have been very polite, professional, and very competent. I would not want to be without American Home Shield!

So far they are tops in some services such as major appliance repair and replacement. But not all local contractors are created equal. We recently hit a dead end when the assigned contractor could not complete the work and was not returning our calls. I called AHS to request a different contractor and was told that one was my only option. So in order to get the new thermostat installed, we cancelled the unresponsive contractor and paid out of pocket to buy our own thermostat and pay a local contractor to install it. This should have been handled by the AHS contractor but communication with them failed. We need closure so we had to eat the expense.
