Good completion of air conditioning repair. Would have been nice to inform us of why they switched vendors after the initial company came out to assess the problem. They said it had to be replaced and new company 1 1/2 weeks later repaired it. We were without air conditioning for 11 days after initial visit and no communication until I called 5 days later,

American Home Shield has great customer service. The only problem is that they don’t have all the up to date information with companies. There is a case where I requested AC service and it looked like the AC person fixed the issue but something was not quite right. I tried getting in contact with the company and feel like I got ghosted. When I tried to reach out to American Home Shield they were not able to get a hold of the company either. They were only able to email the AC company. To this day I still do not have an answer back from the company that came to service my AC.

Over the many years I have I have had with this company, and it has been many times, we had one bad experiance and that will be hard to forget, and your company still owes me $264, after we paid for a bathroom heater, and the company lied and said we removed the old one, took it out, and we had the other company, that come down to investigate, we had them replace the heater and I paid them. Sent copy of the bill paid'. After many calls, and proofs, we have never seen a remimburset , nor could we get hold of a top executive. ALL THE EVIDENC E is still on hold. I still maintain this is a good company because they have been fair in the past many years, and they hired a bad company to deal with at this time. As a strong supporter in the past, and the money you pay managers, you have a bad one. We sent plenty of proof, and to day , we are still owed the money. Check your files. Inspite of all this , I still think this is a good company.

I loved the no hassle response. I was recently surprised when there was no haggling when my appliances needed to be replaced. I was give the option of comparably valued appliances or check or e-card. I chose the e-card because although the chosen AHS appliances were comparable, my choice brand was not included and I was able to get that brand with the e-card.

I enjoy working with American home shield because if they sent out a contractor to fix something and you do not agree with the diagnosis, they will send you a second opinion at no charge. This avoided me to pay over $1000 to a contractor that said I needed additional work, that was not covered by American home shield as it turns out the second opinion contractor fixed the job with no problem and no additional cost to me

It's absolutely worth it. I have filed claims for my furnace, my refrigerator, and most recently my AC unit. My claim for my furnace took some time to get approved. The contractor that got assigned by AHS never reached out to us. This was in the middle of winter. After a few weeks, I was approved to use a different contractor that I was allowed to pick. I chose a contractor with good online reviews. The contractor did a good job. AHS only paid for about half of the work done because it was a contractor that I picked. I disagree with that decision because AHN called me to let me know I was approved to pick a new contractor, since the one AHN assigned never called. They didn't say that the whole bill wouldn't be covered. A year later my refrigerator died. It took about 3 months to get it fixed. AHN did not cover any expenses towards my spoiled food. Not even a gift card to fast food to get dinner that night. nada. And the phone agent ended the phone call with "my pleasure" before hanging up. What kind of psychopath says that to someone who just lost hundreds of dollars worth in food?! Finally after several months, the mother board was replaced and the refrigerator working again. Most recently my AC died. This happened in the middle of record breaking high temperatures in Colorado. AHS sent a contractor that same day. The contractor fixed the unit on the same day which I find just wonderful. So with AHN it's hit or miss as to what agent you talk to. Some are rude and some are really cordial and quick to get your case assigned.

This time the service was good. The contractor contacted me as promised and promptly scheduled a service time. The problem was corrected. This is an improvement as the two times previous the service was awful, contractors never contracted me and I ultimately found another solution. If this had not been corrected, I would have stopped using AHS. Hopefully, the previous problems have been completely corrected and my most recent service is now representative. HOWEVER, I hate y our phone system and the fact that you do not want to actually talk to people. Shows a real lack of interest in customer service.

This experience was amazing. The appointment was easy to schedule, the technician actually came very quickly, was friendly, professional & fixed the problem easily (dryer). What I normally do not like is that most AHS technician's are not local and many times that acerbates the problem by slow service, which is not what I am paying for. This vendor was perfect, local, quick turnaround time and very professional, so keep him/them. I also do not like my rates going up and my service fee. There are far to many similar companies (your competitors) with excellent signing offers for me to put up with the upping of my fees, especially when I am a senior. If they go up again, I switch to another company.

I like that they make an honest effort in a timely manner to try to resolve whatever situation you have. Or replace the item with a like item or similar. What I don't like is some of the representatives I cannot understand them and they don't quite understand. Other than that I highly recommend American Home Shield the warrant is worth the money and they get the job done as quickly as possible. However, I had an immediate response from American Home Shield who contacted the heating and air-conditioning company. Within an hour the heating and air-conditioning company called me back and set up an appointment for Monday morning bright and early. The problem was resolved quickly. I am one very happy customer.

I have two homes and have used AHS to cover both. They have been very helpful and it's good to know that if something major goes wrong that I will have coverage. That said, because the companies that they send to look at a problem have to go back to AHS to get approval, it can take several days to weeks for a repair or replacement to be made. On one occasion it took several months for the multiple companies sent out from AHS to even understand the simple problem of a bathroom exhaust fan that was old and needed to be replaced. Finally, the rates keep going up annually, but I have kept the coverage because of the age of some of the systems in my houses.

What I don't like is that the price has gone up over the last 20-30 years ...imagine that :-) What I do like is that AHS has been worth every penny for us. The service has been prompt - even when the contractors had issues with the fix on a couple occasions. The service calls were easy to make, the contractors were quickly dispatched and friendly and informative - and not ever condescending to a woman - which should be the norm, but often isn't.

I was happy to work with American Home Shield. They were fast with getting someone out to our home to fix the water heater. First time visit brought back the heater and some warm water. I say some because some warm water went bye-bye after three days. Company returned and replaced the "bad" part. I don't think the water is as hot as it should be but we'll see. Been pleased with American Home Shield and their fast responses.

The automated “hearing” needs some work; I had a little trouble communicating what I was calling for. Other than that, once I got through that part it was all smooth sailing! The appointment to repair my dryer was made in a timely manner, the technician was on time, and I (well, my wife) was back to drying laundry quickly, quietly and efficiently! The trade fee was easily handled, and the AHS coverage was just what we needed!

I like the quick responsiveness of AHS and the people they send out to repair. I like peace of mind the coverage gives me. What I don't like is how reluctant they are to replace items. For example, one service looked at our air conditioner and said it needed to be replaced (of course, I get that they wanted to sell it to us). We called AHS to look at it. They fixed/replaced part of it, but not all of it and what they didn't replace we were told was likely only to last the summer.

Reasonable prices that match the value of the service and products they repair or replace. If you think about it, this company will eventually have claims as something eventually will break down at your house. I filled out an online easy form to request service and I received text message updates to keep me in the loop until a plumber could call and confirm an appointment. I had a product within it's original warranty time and AHS handled everything.

I like having a home warranty. Both of my AC units went down. The air temps have been in the hundreds for weeks so being without AC was tough. The 1st Unit was still within it's 30 day call back to make sure everything is repaired. The 1st time the tech came our unit miraculously started working so per contract with AHS & with no proof it was not working the tech left. The unit quit working within 12 hours and I recorded via video what was happening. The 2nd time the service company came out it was a different group of guys came & watched the video. They replaced the capacitor and it worked for 4 hours. The unit started making the same noise again so I recorded it again. I called and it would be a week until they could come out again to our area to fix it. In the meantime, our 2nd unit stopped working. I was dreading that we'd have to wait a week for that unit to be looked at but when I put in a ticket for the 2nd unit and within 30 minutes I had a call from the 2nd service company, told they could come that day and were at my house within hours of the ticket going in. He was able to fix that unit that day and we then had cool air back to a portion of the house, Wow! It was amazing. Back to the 1st unit that stopped working a 2nd time, we waited the week & they came out the 3rd time the tech watched the video I took & he knew within seconds what was wrong with the outside AC unit and was able to repair it and we had AC again. It was in the upper 80s and low 90s inside our house while we waited. Fortunately, AHS uses great contractors and once both units were fixed & back up and running we've had no issues.

I have been with AHS for the past 8 years. The only negative aspect to the program is the price. It started at 56 dollars a month with a 75 dollar service cost, to its current rate of 113 dollars a month and a 100 service call. Out of all my claims I only had to fight one which AHS eventually approved. Still worth the value giving the rising costs of everything else, but a little disappointing.

I like the ability to Makena a request online. At issue, is sneaking with several associates that have English as a second language. Also, the replace policy is less than favorable. We just had a garbage Disposal removed and replaced. We had 3/4 hp garbage disposal but the plan will only replace it with a 1/2 hp. We purchased the house and plan with 3/4hp garbage Disposal but we can not replace it with a like, kind and quality item.

Warranty came with the house purchase. Used it 3 times, for re-key of house keys, service on clothes washer, and leaking sewer pipe. I expect that all together, these 3 services would have cost more than the warranty, but I did not see the cost for the service, so I have no way to judge. Accessing the service was easy and the contractors responded quickly to issues.

The responsiveness of AHS following the repair vendor's assessment of the washing machine failure was relatively quick. You either accept AHS's manufacturer for the replacement or they give a dollar amount that they'll credit you toward whatever manufacturer you pick. The latter is what I did; and their reimbursement check was in our mailbox in less than 10 days. My wife and I were very happy with the process and the response!

I've been a customer since 2019 and have had nothing but great things to say about them. Friendly and efficient staff, generally quick service. I recently had my dishwasher break and American Home Shield made several attempts to remedy the issue (which was great), unfortunately, it had to be replaced. The company they connected me with for the replacement was beyond horrible; they have 1.4 stars on Google and the reviews are some of the worst I've read. When I called AHS to voice that, I was told that they don't select their collaborating companies by customer opinions. I believe a company you use to assist your members reflects your business and values. I was very disappointed with this last issue and the response they gave. I'm now contemplating using a different insurance company.

We have had several appointments set up with various companies for different issues. To date we have had a horrible experience with Home Choice Services out of Daytona Beach, Fl. They have missed appointments and when the tech finally showed up he did not have any parts to fix the garbage disposal. The young man was not a very happy person. When my wife called to complain she was told that the people at Home Choice advised that the problem was fixed. We paid the $100 and still have not received any help from the company. It has been about three weeks with nothing resolved. Very disappointing! Thank you, David and Kathy Z in Deland

The person that called to let us know that he could be at our house between certain hours on a given day. He came checked out the problem and told us the part needed to be ordered. We’ve had this plan for several years, and many of those years we didn’t have to use the benefits at all, but these last two our appliances and HVAC have needed serious repairs or replacement and AHS has never balked at their portion of the contract and paid out promptly and with no haggling. I do like that an item has to be irreparable before it is approved to be replaced. Items should be evaluated and replaced based upon age not just because it can or cannot be fixed. My recent service to my garage door opener fixed the problem but because the opener is so old it will not link to my newer car which is an inconvenience. I can not even buy a remote to use because the available remotes are newer and do not link to my very old opener. In 2020 my furnace was replaced but only after the gas company red tagged it - that was a dangerous situation and I was without heat in the winter with no where to go. I had my furnace serviced several times prior to that and it should have been approved to be replaced just based upon its age. AHS really needs to revaluate this policy.

They and repair people have wonderful customer service which is such a nice change. AHS keeps me on top of anything that is happening, when someone should call, and has the repair been finished to our satisfaction. Can't get any better.

American Home Shield is great, knowing I just have to log an issue and they'll send someone out to look at it is such a relief when there's a million other things to juggle in life. My most recent experience has not been that great. Our oven has been giving us issues preheating so we requested service in February. The first guy to come out did the best he could by himself and said he'd have to come back with someone else to help him so we rescheduled. The day he was supposed to come back a different man showed up and he was all alone, so either the first guy didn't notate the account to say 2 guys were needed or someone didn't schedule the second guy appropriately. So he didn't do anything, just rescheduled. The next time 2 guys showed up and they were able to move the oven and look over everything. They're not sure if it's the wiring or the control panel so they had to order parts and come back. Parts were delivered to my house so now here comes the 4th visit and one guy (totally new) shows up BY HIMSELF again. He looks at the parts that came in and one is wrong, so he has to order another part AND reschedule me AGAIN because one part is missing and he needs a helper. They're scheduled to come out again on Monday. Let's see if the 5th time is the charm.

We had an issue with our refrigerator and it couldn't be repaired because the serial number had been wiped off. They jump right into action and within a week we had a brand new refrigerator in out kitchen, The process was so fast and they pretty much did everything for us. We received an email with another refrigerator that was comparable to the one we had, actually it was bigger and is an excellent addition to our kitchen. THANK YOU AMERICAN HOME SHIELD YOU DO WHAT YOU SAY! I will recommend you to anyone that will listen, no one is out of reach of my recommendation.

I have had 2 claims in the past 3 years. Both times it was very easy to make a request for maintenance and scheduling a time for repairs fit into my schedule without a problem. The service companies were friendly and knowledgeable and very professional. Both times saved me from paying a large repair bill. AHS is the best choice I’ve made for my home and peace of mind.

We have a stand alone Refrigerator and Freezer that we bought when we built the house. The Refrigerator had to be replaced. In order to match the freezer we needed a certain brand of refrigerator. Prompt service, and techs were adept in capacity and did really good job!! 2 thumbs up! AHS has made significant improvements since my initial membership as customer service was lackluster and Reps couldn’t speak English, additionally wait times were upward of 50 minutes. Now those issues are solved and we are very happy with service . 2 Thumbs up!

They have provided the exact coverage in the exact way that they said they would. I had the same problem a couple of times, the service was quick and effective each time but ultimately due to a manufacturer defect they replaced the appliance. The amount they provided was very fair towards a replacement. I’ll stick with them for a long time based off the service so far.

I have to admit I was a little skeptical about the Home Warranty deal (paid for by the seller of the property I purchased), when I ended up experiencing a problem with an electrical switch, I called American Home Shield. To my surprise, the rep was courteous, and understanding. A work order was submitted and my problem was resolved and repaired in an expeditious manner. I was very pleased with the contractor used and how responsive everyone was.

I think it made a big difference that the company was highly rated on yeelp. It was Smartchoice appliance. When they have good companies they work with, it makes it a much more satisfying process.

I liked the service, but the provider did take a long time to get back to me with service. We had to wait many days for someone to come to our home, as we live in a rural area. Once they did come, the service was excellent. When replacing the water heater, the provider did reach out and I was not able to return their call promptly and my water heater was cancelled. They did reorder and now I have a new one.

We bought a home in May and my sister suggested getting American Home Shield for our home warranty provider. I was told some really bad things about another company who didn’t cover my daughter in law’s family a/c or dishwasher, so I was a little weary. We started having having trouble with our A/C in August, but American Home Shield covered it! Just recently, our refrigerator went out, not only did we have a tech out within a few days, but also got a replacement for our refrigerator within 2 weeks! I am so glad we decided to go with American Home Shield!
