Customer service follow-through is HORRIBLE. I've been waiting for over a month for a "customer advocate" to follow up on an issue I reported and that is totally unacceptable. It feels like they want you to just forget about the problem. Horrible!

Your service is really sucks this time. I need thermocouples and wires for my water heater but you say it’s going to cost me over $1700 to replace my heater because you only cover the tank. My tank works fine. I just need new thermocouples and wires. I still don’t have a detailed invoice of what the $1700 is for. I have a 75 year old mother living here and we’re on our 5th day of no hot water! You should be ashamed of your service and if having me for something that I don’t need. Awful!!! :(

We have had a non-operational refrigerator since November 2022. AHS has sent over 3 vendors for a total of 8 appointments never fixing the issue. We have requested a cash out numerous times as they are unable to fix the issue. They keep saying we have to follow their procedure and give them an opportunity to fix. It is unethical that that they are not honoring the terms of their contract agreement and that we have not had an operational refrigerator for 5.5 months.

I have had this device less than a month for my new home. It started out great with the vendor who came to provide my complimentary rekey. But as I have been trying to redeem the second complimentary service that comes with my plan, I have been getting the run around for weeks from the AHS agents. I had to have American Home Shield come out 4 times for my ice maker. It was finally changed. At $75 a visit plus what I pay yearly it is not worth it to have AHS. Changing the ice maker should have happened on the first, or maximum, second visit. Or I should not have continued paying the $75 fee each time they sent a company to me.

I couldn't understand the customer service representative. While she was quite sweet, and was trying her best, her accent was very thick. It is extremely difficult to connect with a live person. Your vendors are poorly rated on Yelp. I have attempted to contact Hill's General Plumbing Services Inc-NB three times, two voicemails and one email, with no luck.

Did a seasonal maintence check and was charged 2 service fees for my AC. 1 for inspection and then another for them to replace what was needing during the inspection. Also had another experience with emergency and wouldn't reinburstment me cause it wasn't one of theirs who couldn't come out immediately.

I like the service a lot. I have been very happy with the contractors. However, recently our furnace stopped working on a Friday and they had no one available until Monday. 3 nights in a hotel, risk of frozen pipes etc. They were no help.

We have paid $39.99 a month for the last 6 years for this service. We have used it twice, and both were horrible experiences. The service providers they sent out were extremely rude, and lied both times regarding the findings and outcomes of the dispatch. American Home Shields customer service is absolutely no help, and did not take our complaints seriously.

Read read and reread . They will change your coverage in your renewal contract. Although it auto renews. They auto renew not for the same contract. However they do stand behind the repair when it is still covered. They will send the same company back out. Who has time for that for 2 and 3 visits.

The value AGS provides is not worth what it takes away. There was a saving of $600 to replace a part on my HVAC unit. The downside I could not effectively use my preferred contractor, no option to choose OEM parts, and the process was very unclear.

My contract clearly covers my AC but when I put in a claim they told me my AC must be listed as a covered item in my contract which it is. When I told them it is listed as a covered item, they told me sorry your claim is denied. They won't give me justification for why it's denied. I talked with other people in the company that looked at my contract and said it's covered, including my lawyer but they still won't approve my claim. False advertising, rude customer service, wouldn't respond to questions, unethical business practices

I give zero stars. I’ve been very very disappointed with the service I’ve received from AHS. I’ve been waiting over 2 months for a reimbursement check that I was told would take 14 to 21 business days. This is completely unacceptable. I just made another service call and still can’t get any help. I definitely would NOT recommend AHS to anything.

I find it to be very unprofessional to raise someone's rates without so much as calling or emailing any sort of notice. I believe it went up 20 to 30 dollars more a month with no notice that's quite the increase for pushing out no notice. I hardly use this service and could not justify throwing away more money for such little use.

Terrible response time and has zero concern for helping home owner. Customer service reps are all overseas and speak very broken English making communication next to impossible. Companies used to fix any issue put you at the back of the line due to the hassle of repair & parts approvals. Unless you don’t mind waiting several days or it’s a major appliance replacement it’s better to just hire service direct or DIY!!!

My experience with AHS was very unpleasant. Poor customer service experience. Even with the best plan the out of pocket expenses made it where I would have been better off not going through the warranty and being able to pick my own contractor. Often the contractor available was not able to fix the issues and I still had to hire someone else. It was not worth the time and money or stress. Couldn’t recommend AHS to anyone!
