I was never informed appliances under warranty weren’t covered. Paid $125 for someone to come out and tell me just that and was left without hot water for even longer. I talked to 2 people who assured me I’d be refunded for the $125 charge. That was 2 weeks ago and I have yet to receive a refund.

The process takes too long. AMERICAN HOME SHIELD is supposed to be in contact with the vendor regarding parts. I’ve been waiting three months to have my refrigerator repaired/replaced and I received the same response every time I call. They state that they’re contacting the vendor to receive an authorization, and no one ever calls back. Very disappointed

I have been a loyal customer for 26 yearsRecently I submitted a request for water stoppage in both of my 3 bathrooms and tubs Plus from my washer as well It was discovered that baby wipes was the problem and when they left, the stoppage was supposedly corrected However, less than a hour after they left the probably reoccurred You wouldn't send anyone else back out cause I was told it was not normal wear and tear I didn't see that in the contract I am dissatisfied and I felt like you she have sent someone out Based on the fact that I have been a loyal customer I am considering dropping 📔

I requested a service which I no longer needed. So about one hour later I canceled the service request. I then was told I had to pay service fee…even though nobody came. A hold was placed on my account until I paid up. I reached out and an AHS agent said this will be off my account in 24 hours. Didn’t come off. Then I was told 48 hours. Didn’t come off. Then I was told 3-5 business days. Didn’t come off. 5-10. Nope. Today I was told 14 to 21 days from TODAY. Absolutely outrageous. So I cannot make a service request for over a month because of their mistake.

. My biggest complaint is the amount of time it takes for service to be approved. I had to wait 3 weeks to get a new water heater from the time it went out. the contractor was ready to come replace it but AHS was taking forever to approve it.

I had someone come to check my dishwasher to determine it was a sink issue. When calling AHS, they gave me the runaround when they couldn’t confirm with the dishwasher company that what I said was correct. It is 8/1 and I put in the request 7/13 for them to finally tell me I just need to put another request in. Your call center is terrible and would be better suited in the states. This is the second time this has happened to me and has wasted my time for someone who pays on time every month for your service

Hard to understand customer service employees. They all say the same thing, you can tell they are instructed what to say and it’s annoying especially when you have an issue. Some of the contractors they use do not know what they are doing. If they can’t fix it they won’t cover it. It’s always that’s not covered or not normal wear and tear! Just taking my monthly money.

I have a guarantee that supposedly covered everything, but two companies have come to check that the air conditioning does not cool the house and they do not cover it. I have two small children who are getting hot because the air has not exploded and they cannot cover it. In conclusion, I have to pay 12,000 for a new air conditioner, so I do not recommend that you buy any guarantee.

AHS VENDOR COULD NOT FIND THE COMPRESSOR THAT THEY HAD ORDERED FOR ME WHICH TOOK 14 DAYS TO RECEIVE. CAME IN SET UP APPOINTMENT. APPOINTMENT TIME AHS VENDOR COULD NOT FIND THE COMPRESSOR. IT TOOK ANOTHER 13 DAYS SO I PURCHASED A PORTABLE AIR CONDITIONER. AHS REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE AIR CONDITIONER. IT WAS A MISTAKE BY A VENDOR AHS HIRED. ONLY PERSON CAN TALK TO IS CUSTOMER SERVICE. COULD NOT FIND ANY EMAILS/PHONE NUMBERS TO FILE A COMPLAINT. ONLY COULD TALK TO CUSTOMER SERVICE. WOULD NOT PAY FOR AIR CONDITIONER DURING THE HEAT. THEY DID NOT CARE.

I love how American Home Shield sends out May Day to address a HVAC system, they tell me it’s going to cost 5k to replace…normal wear & tear - which AHS conveniently doesn’t cover, a second opinion fixes the HVAC for 100 & AHS sends me an estimate for repair of 5k. This company (both) are a joke.

I am very disappointed with the customer service. I had to pay for a new furnace out of pocket and have been trying since March 2023 to talk with someone about reimbursement. I sent a letter with all documentation to your company and can't get a response. I had to pay out of pocket due to medical necessity and no one at your company cares at all. Would not recommend your company to anyone. I am looking into other home warranty options at this time.

It's takes way too long to get service! You don't have emergency service! I had a serious plumbing issue that required immediate attention and I had to call rotor rooter who quickly fixed the problem. They were amazing not AHS! I'd like to see service requests a lot sooner! I psy $165 monthly which is a lot and I don't use the service much. I am contemplating cancelling the contract. I would like a manager to call me so I can explain in more detail.

The first tech came out and did not work on the type HVAC I have. I kept getting follow up texts that an estimate was in process which was incorrect. I now waiting for another tech on Thursday and I have not had air for a week!

After 17 years with AHS I cancelled the policy because , they advertise, all the appliances are covered / covered appliances, but the fact is just the opposite.., Made claims , 8 claims 2 covered but all others are denied , saying oh it is old or some bogus reasons . I’ve used American Homeshield since 2005 when I purchased my first home in WA. As the monthly price of the warranty & of each service has increased over time, the quality of the service providers and the customer service provided by AHS has declined precipitously. It is evident the goal is NOT to provide homeowners with resolution of the issues we hope to plan for and take care of by having a home warranty in the first place, but to simply patch the issue and keep collecting the premium and service fees.

AHS did not cover replacing gas line. Plumber said would be easier to install new line overhead rather than cramped crawl space. AHS said no pay if not as original gas line install. So...I'm out $2500.
