It has been 1 and 1/2 months that my air conditioning unit was broken by American home shield inspections and has not been fixed. They sent seven different opinion company to come see my unit. It's still not fixed. Every company come with different ideas and they offering me after 1 and 1/2 month. $275 to fix my AC. I was in the hospital. My wife was in the hospital they send technician to do the inspection yearly and then they broke my unit and said your coil evaporator has been broke and need to be replaced since then. Everyday I call my call goes to Philippine and they do not fix my problems I have request 17 time to speak to supervisor. I have not got any respond from the company. Every time I call customer service saying we are apologize. We know how you frustrated and we will make sure we will take care of you the next day the same the next week. The same no respond. I am taking American home shield to the court of law and then I will make sure I will put every proof I have to the social media. This company shouldn't be exist the way they treating customers. I am so frustrated with their policy and I hope the consumer affair or better Business bureau look it to this complaint. I did complain to the BBB and I will call my local congressman and attorney general office

Well, it has been 32 days, 5 visits, and 3 motors and my AC still isn't fixed. There's also now a giant 3x3' hole where my ceiling fell in due to the AC drip pan for the upstairs unit overfilling. AHS won't cover that as it is "secondary damage" despite the fact it was caused by the upstairs unit struggling to keep up with no downstairs unit for a month now in 90-degree weather. They also charged me a second service charge to have the tech look at the hole in the ceiling. Then told me it was not covered. After reporting them to the BBB they decided to refund the charge they conned me into as compensation. All bait and switch and they can translate the contract however they see fit. The technician ordered the wrong motor twice, and the one time he got the right one, he ran the ground wire on top of the unit and screwed it into painted metal so it fried the system. I'm lucky the house didn't catch fire. Meanwhile, AHS has been denying any wrongdoing, claiming the repair is on track to the BBB. Do not trust this company, they will not support you. Oh, and three different AHS employees told me the hole was covered. Fourth said it wasn't but they would review calls and if I was told it is covered, they would cover it. The escalation person admitted that I was misinformed on all four phone calls and they would not be doing anything for me. Rather, I was informed they would be disciplining the four employees. I wasn't trying to get someone written up. I just want the service I paid for to actually get done.

Very disappointed in this company. First time I called them for an HVAC repair, it turned out they don't cover my repairs, so I paid their guy $550 out of pocket to charge the system. I would rather have found my own HVAC technician because that was way too expensive. Second time I had to call AHS for my fridge, it took their guy 8 days to get to my house. He then showed me the fridge and explained that it's a sealed system that is not meant to be serviced. It took AHS another 72 hours to process his report.... at which point AHS told me that the system was serviceable but was missing a part, so it was outside of my warranty. Then they told me that, for another $45, the part could be installed and the fridge could be fixed. I told them that, yes, of course I want to spend $45 to fix my fridge. They never sent the technician. So I called again, got the same lecture, and was told a technician would come out for $45. Once again, nobody followed up. So I called a third time. This time, AHS told me that I was outside of the warranty, so the HVAC company would not come out and would not install a port... but that I could pay AHS another $100 for a second opinion. At this point, I've been without a fridge for 3 weeks, and it's already been diagnosed as a sealed system that has no port for charging. This is clearly just a scam meant to make me go away so that AHS doesn't have to replace my broken fridge.

I don't like Home sheild sending inexperienced repair men out that lie about the problem and cost us additional money y hiring some one to fix the problem when Home shield could have done it. Home shield need to follow up on their people they send out and report that the problem is not fixable. Many cases its not true.

I had my swamp cooler replaced by C&R Plumbing on 5/19/2023. They did a shoddy job and breached my roof, causong more than $10,000 in damages to my home. I discovered during this time that C&R Plumbing has a consistant ONE STAR rating thru the Better Business Bureau. Had this been revealed to me upfront, I would have NEVER NEVER NEVER trusted them with something as critical as the installation of my very expensive swamp cooler that I had waited YEARS to replace. State Farm is trying to resolve the claim and asked for an itemized receipt for the work American Home Shield (AHS, like the horror series…) contracted C&R Plumbing to do in replacing my swamper. Ugh. I reached out to American Home Shield for a fourth time this week. First person: We'll have that bill to you in 24hrs. That was six days ago. Second person: Yes. The form on your file says it'll be there in there in 24 hours. That was four days ago. Third person: Hung up on me. Fourth person: Played "20 Questions" with me until I snapped and they hung up on me. (i.e. "I'm going to reverify the same basic info ad nauseum until Laurie loses it...and then hang up") Fifth person: "Please just get me to your supervisor." They put me on hold for said person. The "Supervisor" is not actually a "Supervisor" but another rep for a different company representing American Home Shield. That person is authorized to "submit a form to Accounting requesting an itemized bill. It'll be sent to....is your email xxx@xxxx.xxx?" Me: 🤬 This is my TedTalk for the night. 😬😬😬

During my 14 months of using Home Shield, I had two issues. Both of them were not resolved. This last one took the cake. I have a modular home. In repairing a deck in my back yard, I found that when they originally put in the house and installed the brick foundation wall, they failed to properly integrate the heat pump drainage pipe. The folks who put in the wall just poked a hole through the vent and set the pipe on the wall - letting the output just run down the wall. When the home shield folks sent and HVAC person, they agreed that the HVAC was installed properly at the factory and that this was a foundation wall issue. Unfortunately, that person never filed a report or responded to the Home Shield folks. So, they sent another HVAC person. He agreed that it was an issue with the wall on integrating the pipe properly. Then I receive a notice that Home Shield determined my issues was 'partly' covered and my out of pocket expense was $400. I asked them to clarify what part they were covering and received no answer. After a couple more requests for clarification, I received a phone call that told me that the service was not covered, as it was a problem with the HVAC installation of the drain pipe, which is not covered. The service was $400, and I had to pay it all. This is a modular home. The HVAC was installed in the house in a factory FAR away from my address. The faulty installation happened when the house was put on the property and they cheated when they made the wall. The two HVAC experts that appeared at my home both agreed this was an issues with the wall installation, and the HVAC was fine. They went against the advice of the vendors they hired when they saw they could get away with not spending money on a legitimate claim. I have stopped using Home Shield. All I have for using this service is a lot of headaches getting a straight answer. I'm out two service fees and all the monthly fees with nothing to show for my money other than receipts.

Hello, Both times I have used AHS I leave all information with the Sears office with the model and serial numbers of my appliances. They never have any of the parts to fix it when they arrive the first visit. They have to order the parts and arrive on the second visit close to 2 week’s after I call the issue in to AHS. If my Air Conditioner goes out ever in the Summer and it takes almost 2 weeks to fix, this would force me to cancel my service with AHS. Service has to keep a much better stock of parts to help the customer!

I have had great success on repairs till my last request . I have put in a work order for gas furnace and I keep getting the run around that there is no one in my area . Fbr has worked on my issues before and did a great job . They are still in the area so not sure what is going on . Overall, we’ve gotten more benefit than cost with AHS. We’ve had several plumbing issues and beside the $100 fee the rest has been covered saving us thousands of dollars. However, it seems some of the companies contracted are less than stellar and we have been without AC since August 20th. I have been frustrated with the communication and lack of information about this delay.

For the most part, AHS is a good value. Unfortunately, my hot water heater leaked. I called AHS for ER service as my heater is in the garage, which I paid extra for ER service. AHS was unable to find someone so they advised me I could use my own contractor. We were out of town, but a friend knew a plumber who agreed to come over the weekend. When we returned home, the problem was fixed. I submitted my invoice and was then told AHS needed to approve the work/cost prior to repairs and they refused to cover the cost $1700. Still upset about that.

The water heater wasn’t the problem. We had Apollo plumbing install a new water heater. They had come out two times to determine the problem. Apparently the problem is was the dip stick which they replaced two times and the water continues to run cold. I’m seeking reimbursement for the water heater. The plumber is coming back out after he contacts your company. Please advise how we can resolve this issue.

It took about 4 to 5 days for the technician to come out. I would have liked it to be sooner than that. Otherwise, the level of service was good. The technician was very knowledgeable and repaired my appliance. It was a good value having American Home Shield.

They were able to get a service contractor out here and unfortunately my appliance was deemed nonrepairable. Within a week the new appliance was ordered and put in and working great.

I am disappointed that AHS is allowing the plumbing contractor to add excessive costs to the replacement of my water heater. $765 in my costs including up charges on city permit and $90 for foam insulation. This is a $1.78 foam piece that can be cut and installed in less than 2-3 minutes. Overall I like AHS but would like that AHS works on behalf of their customers to control the pricing of a repair like this. AHS has the line prices. Customers are held hostage when in need of hot water for washing and cleaning.

AHS responses quickly but the companies they assign are over booked. It takes a week or more for their technicians to have the first visit and if there needs to be a return visit that takes weeks. AHS raised monthly rates without my consent .
