My dishwasher broke in Nov 2022. On Jan 4, 2023 Sears said they cannot fix it & submitted it to AHS for replacement. I have called AHS every 3 days since asking for it to be resolved. I am told every 3 days that I will have it resolved in 24-48 hours guaranteed. I just called again today 01/27/23 & am now being told I have to start all over with sears even though they closed out my ticket saying that it cannot be fixed, it needs to be replaced. Really ridiculous. I asked to speak to a supervisor & was told, I'm wasting my time, they will tell me the same thing. I have now called about 7-8 times & not resolved. They use to be really good on their customer service many years ago when I owned another property, but I will definitely be looking for another provider after this.

My electric stove has been fixed twice and it always breaks down every 2 months or so. It's always short circuiting, sparks al over. Now it only has one little stove working, everytime i call to be fixed, AHS charges ne 100.00. They just change the small part and like i said the stove is from the 70s needs to be totally replaced.

AHS wanted to replace compressor in 20 year old unit. Instead of replacing unit. We had to buy new unit through their other service. We received a discount on new unit but not sure what good the warranty is if AHS will not replace components as advertised

I’ve had three service calls with American home shield and the first one he fix the problem, but did not do everything that AHS phone Rep said that he would do. Number two solved three out of the four problems with plumbing. And number three service came back and fix the fourth problem.

My refrigerator went out the day before Christmas, I called and filed a claim. The first available appointment was January 10th. The tech came out and stated the compressor had gone out and the whole unit would need to be replaced. They then assigned 2 more companies to come out but when they found out it was a sealed system they cancelled the appointment. I then called everyday just to be told that they couldn't find anyone to work on it. I said then replace it and they said no they had to find someone to fix it. It has been over a month of living out of ice chest, my husband is disabled and I run a home dessert business and this has been a total hardship for us. I call almost everyday to be told the same thing, there working on it!

AHS did not complete my claim properly, and did not communicate properly. then the customer service rep was extremely rude and disrespectful. I have been waiting for over 7 months to have paid 2 service fees for one appliance and AHS has still not fixed it. they send out one company after another and now we are having a 5th company come to see the same appliance. another appliance was looked at and I was told that parts will be ordered for it. now AHS is telling me that they sent an email to let me know that its not covered cuz according to the contractor that damage was due to force. when I requested they send another contractor out cuz this contractor told me it will be replaced, and gave AHS wrong info, AHS said I should have replied to their email from December, which I did not get! they kept arguing with me and being rude, and then put me on mute and stoped responding until I hung up and called again.

Doesn’t always cover things that quit working. For example, when we bought our house the garbage disposal worked. Shortly after, it quit working and American Homeshield said they wouldn’t replace it because it was old and rusty. I looked at it and it was not rusted. I don’t know how old our disposal is, but it should have been covered.

We have been paying customers of American Home Shield since 2006 and are the first to live in a newly constructed home. Around 2014 we started having issues with our HVAC system and AHS would patch/repair every year. In 2017 there was an issue with the attic unit of our HVAC system that resulted in a small fire. AHS replaced that but not the air handler outside. During the extreme cold of January 2023 the outside air handler could not be repaired and they have denied replacement and stated because it's not compatible with the unit upstairs and was improperly installed. The only technicians to EVER touch our system was sent by American Home Shield. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME BEING SCAMMED/LONG CONNED BY AMERICAN HOME SHIELD.

I had an awful experience with American Home Shield recently. My tankless hot water heater stopped heating the water. My issue is the time frame that a repair takes place. They try to hide behind so many different excuses to fix anything. My contractor assigned to the job spent a day on hold with the manufacturer of the water heater. Evidently, they have to try and described the problem and let the manufacturer tell them what to fix. If what they fix doesn't work, which is rarely covered by your warranty, you pay. This happened to me and I spent over $500.00 "fixing" things that didn't work. I finally got upset and had a new hot water heater installed after not having hot water for a week. No telling how much longer I would have had to wait for them to finally come to the conclusion that I needed a new water heater. I had my sick mother in hospice care here at my home. I was caring for her and heating water in pots and having to carry them to her room. American Home Shield knew of my issues and made no attempt to get things expedited to help. I finally took a "payout ", which means American Home Shield pays you back what they would have paid for a hot water heater. The amount is not even half of what I spent using the same contractor they sent. I still don't have the money and I have no clue when it will come. My mother passed away. Not blaming them, but the customer care people you speak to, which are all in a call center in another country, are no help. They just read back pre-written answers to your questions. And good luck trying to understand them. So, NO, I do not recommend this company and as soon as I get my money back I will change companies and hopefully find one that is at least here in the US. Wow, they are called "American" Home Shield.

The coverage provided is not practical nothing it’s like we pay 80% for the repair/replace and AHS pays 10% and you can’t get one service call for kitchen appliances which is ridiculous I should not have to pay $100 for someone to come check out my garbage disposal and $100 for my dishwasher. You would think AHS would contract with companies that can work on all kitchen appliances.

We have been waiting on hvac repair for over 6 months now. Our stove has been broken for weeks as well and I hVe only 3 burners to cook for my family. Ahs assigns a contractor then you rarely hear from them again. Ahs reps are hard to get in touch with, know nothing useful about your repair status, are often hard to understand, and usually punt you back to the contractor.

I called in on 12/30/22 to put in a service ticket for applicances and electricity. The tech for the electricity came the following Monday(Jan. 2, 2023) and completed all but one light because it wasnt attached to the house but it was on our property(so no I didnt get that) and since he wouldnt complete that light I asked could he do the flood light(on thewall by garage door) that was attached to the house.( tech said no because we didnt ask for it prior in the paperwork). The following Wednesday(Jan. 4, 2023) the tech came to fix appliances. The oven got fixed but never heard anything back about the microwave or refridge. The fridge is still leaking water like it was when I called on 12/30 and slowly messing up the wood on our floor. I explained that to the rep on that following Saturday, (Jan. 7, 2023) from AHS and thought I would've heard something by now but I havent. I am not pleased with your services and/or lack there of customer service because as a customer I should have received a call by now! And yes we paid the $120($250) for both services to be assessed.

I’m unsatisfied with the warranty due to being unable to select the vendors who come to support us. When I look at the vendors reviews online they only have 2.5 stars and very questionable work practices when reading reviews. Also AHS says they don’t have any other vendors we can choose or reassign. There should be more options available. Additionally, someone came to look at our dryer and he told us it would get hot on the normal setting, we just need to wait. Well we waited a whole 2 cycles and it doesn’t get hot, our clothes are still soaking wet. There’s only 1 setting that dries the clothes, but what’s the point of us to request support again for an incompetent vendor? Please let me know when you have reliable vendors and we can think again about using the service. What’s the point of paying $85 for someone to come and say everything is fine when it isn’t?

I was 10 days without water at our condo for a simple water heater change (the core of your business and the service we pay for) that is not a good customer service at all, I call every day and was imposible to expedite the change even when I rush to pay the extra amount to the contractor. I received an email saying it was time to schedule a heating system inspection and tuneup for only $70 co-pay instead of the usual $100. When I tried to schedule my appointment, I was told that you no longer offer this service. My other service request was for garage door repair that was done very satisfactorily.

Worst company ever! Never sent me any renewal information and applied to my credit card. Called to find out about the contract as I wanted to cancel. She asked me why. I told her I didn't need it. She wouldn't let it go. "You must have a reason". Because I want to. She started to argue and tell me the benefits. I told her I wasn't interested in her information and wanted to cancel. I then asked her to have my contract sent to me as I have no idea what I'm under contract for. Called a second time today to a rep that told me she could email the contract. Then she said she couldn't email the contract. When I asked her why she said she could then couldn't she hung up on me. This is the most pathetic company; I have had no emails from this company since 2020 and they are trying to auto-bill me every month. Find another company

My heat has been out since December 18th 2022. Everytime I ask for update the agent says they are waiting for the contractor to send in reports. I call the contractor and they sent reports already. I'm not liking what is going on.

They keep sending out contractors that’s not fixing the job. I’ve had five pieces replaced on the refrigerator and it still not working. They just won’t replace it. I don’t understand it.

I will say that I am a little disappointed in AHS because they sent a company over to my house that misdiagnosed my issue a clear mistake I don’t know if the tech didn’t feel like working or what but a person in that line of work should know the difference between mud and sewage. I have been without heat for over 2 weeks I currently pregnant and have a young child.

I have been trying to reach a supervisor now for a few days regarding a couple service issues and to no avail. I still have a stovetop that has been out of service since November 30th. And to-date that service has not been resolved. After several attempts, on my end, to have the repair complete prior to the holiday - THAT HAS NOT BEEN DONE. I have not received prompt service on my repair, or customer service support.

I have had AHS for years. They fixed a minor dishwasher problem for me. This service request was for a gas furnace that would not light. I paid the $100 service fee but got no service call. I called the automated service number every day for 4 days, with outside air temps below ZERO! I talked to their expediter who promised a response in 24 hours (three times). They were unable to provide a technician to even look at my furnace. They offered an option, to find my own technician, but when I did, they required him to diagnose the furnace, contact the phone maze, document the repairs, itemize the estimated and get another authorization, then do the repair. It's NO WONDER they can't get a service call done. They refused to reimburse me for getting a technician to keep my property from freezing solid. THEY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY. THEY DO NOT FIX YOUR PROBLEM!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

The vendors come out trying to sell their products to correct the problem that I call American Home Shield to manage. Royal Flush repairman(Paul) is trying to sell me a new furnace and stating a part is needed to correct my heater problems but is not covered by American Home Shield. I had to ask him to submit the findings to American Home Shield to diagnose and recommend repairs. The same thing happened with my air conditioner in June 2022 with Dynstasy. Dynasty made repairs and install a system, but caused water damage to my home and American Home Shield is not holding anyone accountable for my home damage. These repair companies contracted with American Home Shield are out to make money for their business and do not have an interest in upholding the contract signed by American Home Shield and the homeowner. This can appear as fraud. I have had a contract with American Home Shield for almost 20 years and the concept is great, but most of the repair companies are inefficient. Establish in the last 5 years, the repair companies are not of quality and most of them try to cut under-table deals.

They are VERY corrupt. Their overseas only call centers are difficult to understand and they only read off of scripts. They refuse to transfer customers to people who make decisions. AHS's contractor deemed my furnace beyond repair. AHS too all standard installation costs except for $255 and falsely classified them as "modifications" to avoid paying for their contractual obligations. No one can get a furnace installed for $255. AHS told me that the modifications were needed to prevent the same situation from happening again with new furnace. I explained the old furnace was about 20 years old and had very few problems. AHS is evil and corrupt , avoid this company

I am paying for a service with a company that is subpar, less than stellar. I understand that the warranty I pay for will not cover all areas, as the representative stated, normal wear and tear. I get it and I understand it. Before your customer service reps ill-advise your customers on details, ask that they listen to your customers first. My call on Friday night to AHS was regarding to no heat I understand that my heat pump could not be repaired by said contractor because wires were damaged by a previous company. I do not have any issues with that at all. Again I understand that this my heat system/wires damaged by another company; therefore, AHS are not liable to cover, and it is my responsibility to have those wires repaired and I did. However, I have a contract until August 2023 and when I asked, the representative if I could get details on a platinum coverage. The first thing the representative stated is I cannot change anything because the contract ends August 2023. I stated three times to the representative, I wasn’t trying to change anything at this time, because I am aware that my contract is good until August 2023. I just wanted to review the details of the platinum plan you offered. I was refused to even look at a plan or even speak with a service rep because my contract doesn’t end of August 2023. Talk about excellent customer service… NOT!! AHS you just lost another customer at the end of their contract. You wouldn’t allow me to review another plan with possibly more income and retaining a customer. Well I guess it doesn’t really matter, you all probably have enough customers right now, you certainly don’t need my money. If this is your highest level of customer service, I bid a Thank you, but no thank you, this was the confirmation I needed to bid farewell.

long term customer with more than 10 years got denied for water heater replacement was told to wait for 4 days for first appointment, not actual repair garage was flooded due to leaking tank, had to remove the tank because of wall damage because the tank was disconnected, I got denied replacement needed diagnosis very simple you can see the leak, can also branch a garden hose so simple. contractor plumber only glance at the tank, no touching, no work done, no physical office also unable to talk to a supervisor got charge service fee for zero work done my wife made original service call, i had to leave my job to stop water damage new water heater installed the same day after contractor came and left without doing the job btw contractor was able to install water heater if I decided to buy one for $400 but was not able to perform thee job right away with AHS contract...

They rip you off and promise what they cannot deliver is my experience for over a year with them. The call with customer service often is over an hour each time and it is very frustrating. As a member, I was charged over $125 service fees for a kitchen faucet leak as they made it sound as if it was a modification for the replacement of the leaked faucet. When they claim as modification your fees are going to be over the service charges. Then, when they were not able to provide me with a technician for a free heat checkup they offered, they asked me to find my own contractor as they were not able to find anyone. I wasn't able to find my own contractor based on their vague reimbursement promise. Even canceling my membership was like pulling teeth as they make it a lengthy process and I wasn't able to cancel. This tells you what a horrible company this is that wants to keep the membership dollars coming with no effort to keep the promise. They have loopholes to make you pay more and who has time to deal with them with the customer service as bad as it is. Most of the members give up like I did and don't ever want to go back to this scammer.

Issue began on 12/12/22. It is now 12/15/22 and likely no repair or heat for at least another 4-5 days. As a Realtor for more than 18 years, I’ve suggest this coverage to my clients. Recently, I suggested it to my own daughter after many clients raved how great it was. I now need to back-peddle based on the HORRIBLE service regarding a furnace repair in NJ. My daughter (who is 8 months into a high-risk pregnancy) is now without heat for more than 3 days (40 degrees in their home) and they are still giving a run around trying to find an authorized service provider for a LENNOX furnace. My daughter has found one with the parts, but AHS, insists that they can’t go “out of network” without authorization and that could take another 48 hours or more. The initial service company told AHS they couldn’t fix it or get the parts and yet, AHS, attempted to dispatch the very same company again! This is absolutely ridiculous - can’t even speak with a supervisor as all the Intake reps aren’t even in the USA. They won’t authorize a reimbursement to use a company who has the parts and could have fixed the furnace yesterday but dispatched yet another company who needs to go to the house tomorrow then order the parts and likely won’t fix the furnace until well into next week. I’ve called every phone number (at least 15) and get the same run around. We can’t even speak to a supervisor or manager but they will put in the research to get the call back in 48 hours. There is NO number to speak with the Corporate office - they all lead to the same service request line in another country. RUN, DON’T WALK, away from this one!

AHS doubled the monthly bill by increasing it twice each year without even notifying me. I could not resolve this issue over the phone. When I got fed up and finally told them I am canceling my contract they started offering some minimal discounts to keep me. When I rejected their offer, several representatives simply disconnected their phones. The last representative whom I talked became aggressive after hearing I am still cancelling my contract and charged me for the whole month in advance which I did not use/need and on top of that, he charged a Cancellation Admin Fee amounting to a one-month payment. Avoid this company at all costs - don't trust their rosy offers, which are valid until you take their bait!
