I wish and hope I could give a negative review. It's my biggest mistake that I took a Home Warranty plan from American Home Shield. If you are willing to wait for a month or so to resolve your issue, then only go for this company. If there is any urgency or emergency at your home and you need to get things fixed, then please forget it; it's never going to happen. The best part is, AHS does not take responsibility for any work delay, and they will not call you to give any updates. It's your responsibility to call them every time, and every time, they just say sorry for the delay. I had a leakage in the bathroom that was damaging my garage wall. It took them more than a month, and it still hasn't been fixed. When I asked for any senior person to give me a call back, that person said, "Sir, you have to wait; this is the process," which made me furious because it had been more than two weeks, and I was living with a leakage and damaged wall. On top of that, she told me, "Sir, read the contract; this is what you signed up for, so you cannot talk to us like that, and you have to wait. IF you thinking taking AHS service than please reconsider you decision or get ready for long n longer wait and just pray to god that your issue get resolve in time

I've had AHS at three homes for over ten years now and never filed a claim. Two weeks ago ago during my A/C inspection (I did not use AHS for this) we were told our A/C vents in our crawl space needed replacing and to my horror a water leak was discovered. The leak was from inside my wall for a shower. I contacted AHS for both problems and two separate technicians were sent out. That was almost two weeks ago and so far nothing. Both companies are waiting for approval from AHS. I was able to isolate the leak but waiting this long is totally unacceptable. One bathroom is unusable. Starting to think I've paid for this insurance for this long and it's nothing but a scam.

Upon requesting service for my pool heater, which was initially attended to approximately two years ago, I encountered a discrepancy in the technical diagnosis. The initial technician recommended a complete unit replacement due to incorrectly installed lines, a solution not covered by AHS. However, a subsequent independent evaluation contradicted this, resulting in a successful repair. Recently, the issue resurfaced, and the original technician, upon return, inaccurately attributed the malfunction to the gas regulator. My request for a second opinion was, regrettably, denied by AHS. This pattern of responses suggests a possible reluctance to replace units, leading me to decide against future engagements with this company.

DO NOT BUY IF YOU LIVE IN A RURAL AREA - IT'S A SCAM! Bought a warranty for my mother's house in rural Michigan. Put in a service request for her fridge and they couldn't find anyone to fix it. Said we could look, we couldn't find anyone and paid out of pocket. Had an issue with her furnace. Called for a list of approved providers, they wouldn't provide one and we couldn't find anyone who took AHS and paid out of pocket again. Called to cancel contract and ask for full refund. After endless script entries trying to get me to keep it, they refunded the service fee for the fridge but refused to refund the monthly premiums and CHARGED ME A $21.95 fee to cancel a contract that was worthless. This was false advertising of the highest order. AHS claimed they covered the area (a competitor wouldn't provide a quote because they were honest and said they couldn't provide coverage in her area), took my money knowing they could never provide service to her area. I'm out $400 due to these scammers. Stay away.

We bought a home in October 2023. The home came with an American Home Shield Warranty. Shortly after moving in, the stove top developed an issue. You either have high or no heat so it is useless. We filed a claim with American Home Shield and still have no resolution April 8, 2024). What good is a kitchen without a stove? When calling the company you are transferred to somewhere outside of the country where non native English speakers do not offer any help. Before we knew that the warranty was useless, we purchased a warranty for each of our other two homes and now we feel completely robbed because there is no way to get our many back that was paid in good faith to a business that has not met their obligation to repair or replace the covered appliance in our home which is essential. DO NOT BUY THIS WARRANTY! IT IS A TOTAL WASTE OF HARD-EARNED MONEY!

I had been with AHS over the span of 25 years and three homes. Unfortunately, I have seen the service deteriorate during that time and, as of today, I'm done with them. STAY AWAY FROM AMERICAN HOME SHIELD. I had been attempting to get a refrigerator icemaker repaired over the last 2 years. During that time, AHS sent out 4 different companies. One of the earlier companies fully disassembled the icemaker and used a hair dryer / heat gun to thaw the ice. While I didn't know it at the time, but the heat did damage and the tech broke some additional parts behind the icemaker and didn't put all the parts back. Fast forward 1.5 years and we had Samsung come out, at AHS' request, to see if they would warranty repair; Samsung refused the warranty due to the heat damage, missing parts, and the additional damage behind the icemaker assembly. In fact, Samsung now says it is not repairable. Over the last 6 months, I have worked with AHS to resolve the problem their techs caused. Depending on who I spoke with, I have been told numerous times they would do a cash out or replace. Call in a month later and they tell me it's my problem, because the damage is not "normal wear and tear." After going back and forth with them, I'm finally done. You win AHS...and lose. Will never go back to you again and will let everyone I know to stay away from you.

Lately I've had bad experiences with the company I elected to advocate for me during repairs. The first time after receiving my replacement refrigerator it broke down two days later, the company assigned by ahs to repair the fridge ordered the incorrect part and never came back to complete the repair after at least a month, fortunately ahs contracted another company they repaired the fridge. Secondly the repairman misdiagnosed the problem with my dryer three times and after complaining a new company was assigned and I brought a new dryer and ahs warranty reimbursed me. Lastly a nightmare I called concerning a clogged utility sink T Mayes Plumbing was assigned in January for the repair the plumbers couldn't solve the problem , the plumbers cut my pipe causing a leak which was damaging my problem I was afraid the dampness would cause termites. water bugs a pest infestation> T Mayes plumber told my husband they would later contact us after they speaking to their manager about the pipe they damaged, Later I received a email from T Mayes asking for a review of completed work, how can the work be complete when my property was damaged leaving me in a worse situation not leaving me whole. American home shield warranty notified me after the plumbing company they assigned to resolve my problem made a false report and never contacted me initially but offer to replace the sink for almost 2,000 dollars as my only option, AHS never listened to my concerns when I complained about a leaking pipe when the plumbing company caused. I was told by their agent Ryan to contact the plumbers directly to come back and fix my pipe. The plumbers wrote a false report about my drain stack which they never tried to resolve the problem this way, the plumbers cut the pipe without trying alternate ways to resolve the problem< Someone called me from T Mayes trying to solicit me into resolving my problem by letting their company install an updated sink, I asked why should I entrust further work to them when they cut my pipe causing a leak. I was told my pipe was damaged because the sink was concrete, I replied they should've informed me of the risks before cutting my pipe. I complained to AHS unsuccessfully. before hiring another plumbing company, who resolved the leakage and verified, they never tried to resolve the problem through the drain stack this company gave me the option to unclog the sink or purchase a new sink which would be extremely cheaper. I elected not to purchase a new sink I was extremely satisfied with the work. I called AHS to ask for reimbursement and was rudely told by Jen that "No one told me to call another plumber and I should've allowed them to resolve the problem, I was told claim denied and never contacted again I told their representative the plumber made a false report and never contacted me concerning damaging my pipe but tried to charge me over 1,700 to update my sink when another company gave me options to replace the sink or repair. I was continuously dismissed by the company who was to advocate for me. I have the report from the other company. How long does it take T Mayes Plumbing to speak with their manager to resolve this conflict making me whole.

American Home Shield has refused to supply me, a platinum level warranty customer, a receipt for the installation of a furnace. I have spent over 6 hours on the phone with their “customer service” call center and been promised 3 times over a week’s time, that they would email it over. I am under contract with a buyer for the sale of my house, and the lender will not move forward without the receipt. AHS does not care about their customers, no matter how much you pay. I have been forced to hire an attorney as I am now going to be forced into foreclosure after being under contract with this buyer for 3 months! AHS should not be allowed to be in business, and I would give them ZERO STARS if I could.

Please, please don't wash your money down the drain with this company. Place that $84.99 in a savings account and use it for home repairs. This product will NEVER pay for itself. 1) The companies they contract with are nearly always 1-star kind of places that are neither reputable nor honest. That's no wonder, as AHS is horrible to its providers and pays them pennies on the dollar. Reputable repair companies (I've spoken with several) have all broken ties with them. You cannot choose your own repair company. There will be ONE vendor in your area available, maybe 2. 2) If you have a big-ticket item, it will not be covered. Your contract will say that it is there to cover normal wear and tear. But not if it's a $3,000 evaporator coil. They'll pay for labor and a few other things. You'll owe $3,000 of the $3700 bill. 3) You will WAIT and WAIT and WAIT for repair. The repair company will indeed call you within 24-hours per contract, but they will not be able to come assess your leaking water heater for 3 more days. Then they will need to put you on the schedule for replacement once AHS approves it, which will take another 2-3 days. So plan on being without hot water for a week. You will call AHS and find that there is no "emergency" or "escalated" importance process for claims. You contract will state that your vendor does not have to arrive at the residence before 7 days. And I promise, as a warranty claim, you are not the priority. A friend will be able to call them separately for service and they will magically be able to respond the following day. 4) You'll still have to pay - a lot. Even if the cost of the water heater is covered, there will be elements that "must be modified for liability" that will cost 75% of the total cost of replacement ($1400 - we replaced on our own for $2200 the next day instead of waiting a WEEK for water). Friend, it's just not a wise investment.

Had the warranty for over 3 years, furnace just went out and while they approved a replacement, they denied the costs to connect it to the required and existing drain, flue and vent. The policy specifically states coverage of all parts and components of heating system up to $5000 so these should be covered. They would not give me any details on the furnace they would use to replace mine, wouldn't tell me the BTUs or efficiency rating etc. The policy states replacement will be comparable or better than existing. In lieu of replacement they offered me $1494.60 as a cash settlement but when I called a local reputable HVAC company they told me that their wholesale cost on a comparable furnace to mine was more than this plus installation costs. I have spoken to 6 people at the company including 2 supervisors and they keep saying they see my point, they agree but won't budge. I said if you won't provide the coverage outlined in the policy then I'd like a refund of my $3,314.61 I've paid in premiums. They said sure but the refund would only be for this policy year that started in October so 3 months worth instead of the full 39. Based on my interactions to date with American Home Shield, I believe that they promise coverage and then weasel out of anything they can. This has been a colossal waste of my time and money and I still don't have a resolution..

STAY AWAY from this company. If I am able to select anything lower then 1 star, I would do that. I've been a customer for 12 years now, paying around $700 a year. I think I've only had to call for service a handful of times. Paying $700 a year, and having to pay the additional $100 for each service call is ok. That is if they don't literally find any possible reason to get out having to pay for any type of service when you need it the most. I am absolutely furious with this company, because my furnace stop working when we need it the most. And they are refusing to pay to service the unit. Terrible company. Terrible customer service.

No one should ever use AHS, they are the worst and just lie to your face!! In the 2 years I was a customer I filed for 2 claims; one for a broken garage door, and one for a broken jet tub. Despite garage doors and jet tubs both being on their list of covered items, both claims were denied. Based on the fine print of the contract they said the garage door was broken by an electric serge which isn't covered, and the jet tub break down doesn't cover the jet itself, so that was also denied. I called up customer support on the last one in an outrage after getting an email from them when the plumber did the diagnosis and the email from AHS themselves said "We’ve got some good news! We received the diagnosis of your Whirlpool Bathtub from HONESTY MECHANICAL LLC, and your Service Request has been approved,.." Despite the tub being a listed item that should be covered and that email that they sent me, they still refused to pay for any part of the repair. Once I realized this company is just a scam I decided I wanted to cancel my service with them. Only THERE IS NO WAY TO CANCEL SERVICE ONLINE, YOU MUST CALL THEM TO CANCEL. I was put through 3 different people getting hung up on in-between customer service calls forcing me to call again just to cancel. The first 2 people I talked to about canceling promised to refund 1/2 of my service charge for having the plumber come out and do the diagnosis of the tub since they wouldn't approve for the plumber to actually do any repair work. The last customer service agent promised to waive that entire fee after I complained for 20 minutes. Then they went back on their promise and billed my credit card the entire plumber diagnosis fee anyway despite those 3 promises from 3 different customer service agents to waive 1/2 or the whole thing. THIS COMPANY IS JUST A SCAM!!!

We used them the first year to repair a broken stove that was red tagged and the contractor they fixed didn't quite fix it; the gas company did once they came a second time by cleaning some of the parts that created the blockage. This year they just denied a claim because the control valve of our water heater leaked gas, and the gas company red tagged it. First the denial reason was it was covered under warranty because it was 1 year old which it wasn't. Then they said the plumber said it was improperly installed because it didn't have an expansion tank; but when we contacted the city they stated those are recommended but not required, also this was a gas leak due to the control valve being faulty, not a valve leak that was leaking water. Then they said it was because i had a warranty that covered the parts (not labor). The plumber sent me text messages saying that this company didn't understand the warranty and that it was an easy fix. It's been 5 days since we had hot water and now I'm boiling water and using that to bathe.

If your problem is covered by all of their fine print then it's a decent service. $125 visit fee and the technician is motivated to actually repair it rather than talking you into a new appliance. HOWEVER, the fine print gets you almost every time. Here are our last 3: 1) Won't repair our Samsung Ice Maker because it's a "known problem" 2) Will only cover $1500 for a roof repair - their estimate came in at $2500 so we owe $900 still. 3) Wine Fridges are not covered as an appliance. We will be canceling this service.

Subscribed/purchased this warranty company, reading good reviews, may be they are spiked. Surprised!! Horrible service from American Home Shield!! In competent Customer Service representatives. To explain my issue, i'm having to spend on avg. 2 hours at minimum, then the representaive gets rude over paying customer itself. To fix a dispatch/ticket with issues on my two dryers, they have taken 5 months. While i'm writting this review, my issue is not yet fixed. Imagine having wasting my valuable time every other day like 2-3 hours and not getting resolution. We bought a house, there was leakage and stoppage issue with pipe. This warranty company said, it was a pre-existing condition, so they won't fix it. By that logic, this company can circumvent any problem a customer is facing. They charged money for diagnostic but never fixed anything, and won't return it as the technician visited me. On top of it, no response from either of the party (neither technician nor AHS) untill followed upon. When i followed up after waiting for a week to check what's going on, they said, as per their rules, they can't do anything for now but for future requests they will consider. How does that benift a customer. By the way, this warranty company has no criteria for emergency on any request. No request can be expedited ever. Parts are not covered. They've all technical reasons to get out of not doing anything. Then why someone should buy this warranty and pay on time and not get anything in return. There is no better communication between the technicians they provide and the warranty company itself. Unless customer follow up, nither of them will respond to you. I've one instance when technican said, as customer is not in rush so service is not started. So far i've made only 2 requests in 9 months, and have horrible experiences and a lot of waste of time. Both of them are not fixed completely. Once a AHS representative said, if you would like to cancel your plan, then there are charges for that too. Not sure, if this review will be visible to others or future customers. But please find another option. Don't waste you time and energy with AHS!! I'm exploring another option now.

Do not sign up with this company under any circumstances. They will not pay for claims. I live in a rural area and no service companies within 50 miles will work with this company. I have gotten pre authorization for service from outside providers twice and they refused to pay the claims after I paid for the repairs out of pocket. I appealed their denials and they still did not pay the claims. I was without water for 2 days because the company they assigned would not come out on a weekend. I got authorization for an outside vendor, paid for the repair and they denied my claim and appeal. Horrible horrible company. Do not believe what they tell you about coverage. They will not cover what their contract says they will.

I have been dealing with AHS for several months now, and my experience with their customer service team has been nothing short of frustrating. I have been attempting to obtain reimbursement for my Air Conditioner (AC) invoice, which I submitted with all the necessary documentation. Despite repeated promises and assurances from their representatives, the process has been riddled with delays and inconsistencies. Recently, a representative told me that my reimbursement request was approved and that I would receive a check within 14 business days. However, my hopes were dashed when I called last week, only to be asked to resend an invoice that my property manager had already sent months ago. I complied promptly, even submitting an electronic copy of the invoice to clearly demonstrate that it had been fully paid. Yet, my numerous calls to inquire about the status of my reimbursement have yielded disappointing responses that have left me frustrated and concerned. While I hope for a resolution, it is disheartening to see the lack of communication and transparency within AHS's customer service department. I believe it's essential to share this experience with others to shed light on the ongoing saga of my reimbursement. I will continue to update this review to keep everyone informed about how this situation progresses. It's my hope that AHS takes this matter seriously and works towards improving their customer service to prevent others from facing similar frustrations.

I signed up with American Home Shield (AHS) back in February 2023 with the belief that their services would provide peace of mind and prompt solutions for any home appliance issues. Unfortunately, my recent experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare. In August, my refrigerator suddenly stopped working, leaving me in a state of distress. I promptly contacted AHS, hoping for a swift resolution to my problem. They did indeed respond quickly by connecting me with a service provider called "Antech Appliance." Initially, I had high hopes that my issue would be resolved without any hassle. However, the optimism quickly faded when Antech Appliance informed me that they needed to order parts to fix the refrigerator. I patiently waited for a week, but nothing happened. I reached out to both Antech and AHS, only to be met with evasive responses and what felt like a relentless runaround. This lack of transparency and accountability was extremely frustrating. After several more attempts, Antech Appliance finally came to assess the situation again, only to declare that they couldn't fix the refrigerator. This ordeal dragged on for a painful three weeks, leaving me without a working refrigerator. At this point, I had lost all faith in the service provided by AHS. In a last-ditch effort to address my issue, AHS assigned another company called "Affordable Services and Appliance Repair." Much to my dismay, the story repeated itself as they, too, stated that they needed to order parts. It has now been over a month since my refrigerator stopped working, and absolutely nothing has been accomplished. The most disheartening aspect of this entire ordeal has been the complete lack of accountability and responsibility demonstrated by American Home Shield. I have made numerous calls to their customer service department, but I have yet to receive a clear and straightforward answer from them. It's apparent that AHS places little value on their customers' time and satisfaction. Furthermore, the contractors they hire to assist their customers are not only inexperienced but also lack professionalism and attention to detail. It's possible that AHS hires such contractors due to their cost-effectiveness, but it ultimately results in a terrible customer experience. In summary, my month-long ordeal with American Home Shield has been nothing short of a disappointment and a waste of both time and money. I deeply regret signing up with them, and I urge anyone considering their services to think twice. AHS's customer service is utterly irresponsible, and the contractors they employ are inexperienced and often careless. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment I've experienced, and look elsewhere for reliable home warranty services.

Terrible service, washer has been broken for over 3 months still not fixed, every time we call AHS we get a different rep that we repeat the story to them over and over again, they make promises and then nothing gets done about it. Even the tech they asked to come out to us, did a video call and did not even come out to see the washer and then when he did come out, he was terrible and did not fix the problem and then the tech told AHS that he replaced 2 parts which was a lie, no-one takes them seriously and that is why the washer is still broken 3 months later. I would not recommend AHS to anyone, unless you just want to pay and get no service. A total waste of money...

I had decent experiences with them over the years but their contract rate and service fees kept going up and up. They just got too expensive. They also started to cover less and less issues in my home. It was hard to justify keeping them as my home warranty company.

PJ Altshuler

I’ve been a customer of American Hime Shield since 1999, but over the past couple of years, their service quality has significantly declined. Here are some of the issues I’ve encountered: Dishonesty and Scams: The company now operates under new management, and their practices are questionable. I’ve faced fraudulent charges and a lack of concern for customers. Customer service call centers are overseas, leading to frustratingly long wait times. Representatives often provide scripted answers and refuse to connect me with supervisors. Repairmen Problems: When my A/C broke, I paid $100 for a repairman. He damaged my system and AHS claimed it was an “Act of God,” denying warranty coverage. Their repairman quoted repairs from his company for a new compressor was exorbitant ($7,700 per unit), but my personal A/C technician fixed it for $120. A similar situation occurred with my hot water heater, where AHS repairmen wanted extra $1900 for installation. They promised a cash-out but never delivered. Inefficient Service: Last summer, my A/C went out during scorching Texas heat. Repair appointments were repeatedly canceled. After months of waiting, they allowed me to hire my own technician, but they never reimbursed me. I ended up spending $5,000 on a new system. Plumbing Nightmare: When I had a plumbing issue, their repairman barely inspected it and left within 5 minutes, stating it was not covered since not attached to the house. The leak was from the water bib which was attached to my house, but they refused to cover the repair cost, because repair was not done by their contractor. Creepy A/C Repair: During an A/C repair, the contractor tried to talk to me through my bathroom door. Unprofessional and uncomfortable! Cancellation Hassles: Trying to cancel has been a nightmare. Calls get bounced around, and cancellations don’t process. Surprisingly, they still have my old address on file despite servicing my new address for a decade. In summary, my experience with American Home Shield has been horrendous. In the last year I have six service calls, paid $1,538.88 in contract fees, an additional $600 in service call cost. I have received one $15.48 part for a repair. I do not recommend using American Honey Shield, you should avoid them completely.

Will starting back in June. I had a problem with my air conditioner, so I called you support group the app of assigned Air Zone from Laverne to do the work. They came over told me I needed Freon put into pounds cost me $160 + $125for service call. No, I pay good money for an insurance policy to protect the things in my home so that I do not have to take care of them myself I pay dearly yearly for it, and my understanding was that if they couldn’t fix it they would replace it. OK so a couple weeks later they had to come out again because it stopped working and he told me how to replace something. I thought he said the motor but I understand there’s no motor in there. So it worked for a while longer and then it went out again this time when he come out, he tells me bad news the compressor has shorted out. And I would need to call American home shield to get approval to replace it. As I did, I was told it was going to be $610, are they would not come and replace it. My understanding was they couldn’t fix it they would replace it they didn’t say I would have to pay for that. Then I waited a couple weeks before I got it. I’m 88 years old. My house was 95° inside and every time I called an answering machine we will call you back. They would say they never called me back. After a while when I would leave a message or try to leave a message it would say our answering machine is full. We can’t take your message. Please call back. Finally after a couple weeks I got a call that they had the compressor and they would be out it would be $650. I said no “American home shield said it would e $610” ,which I thought was not right either. My understanding was that it would be replaced by AHS at no cost to me, bescause I had a warranty. Now I have been waiting for a new replacement for my hot water knob on my wash machine for almost two weeks now and when I call, I get the answer machine. Air Zone has 1star out of 5 on Yelp, and negative comments. With service people like that you will be losing your clients. I would like to notify you now in writing that I want my washer fixed as soon as possible, and then PLEASE CANCEL MY POLICY!!!

I have HOME SHIELD insurance. HS. recommended a service called PORCH to clean my dryer vent. Porch was the most unreliable and unprofessional service I have dealt with. I made an appointment with Porch . I arranged my whole schedule and waited for the service man to show up. NO ONE SHOWED UP AND NO ONE CALLED TO LET ME KNOW THEY WERE NOT COMING. So, I rescheduled. The 2ND APPOINTMENT had the same outcome. NO ONE SHOWED UP OR CALLED TO LET ME KNOW THEY WERE NOT COMING. So, I decided not to have the service. Almost a week later out of the blue I received a text. They just texted me a date and time. Not bothering to see if I was available. The guy showed up . Long story short......he told me they had just notified him 2 HOURS earlier. The guy came unprepared. The tool he used to unpack/loosen the lint/debri went thur the roof and got STUCK. He had no ladder with him. He use our trash cans and stair stepper to help him get on the roof. He was on the roof and now could not get down. He was up there trying to figure out what to do. He saw the mailman and kept Yelling at him for HELP! Finally, the mailman came to see what was going on. The service man gave him his keys and asked if he would drive his car on our grass and go under/near the roof. He finally jumped on the car and was ready to leave. However, he forgot his phone on the roof. Goodness!!! It was one thing or another. We had to locate different tools that could reach the roof. Anyhow, the whole service call was stressful!!! HOME SHIELD should check out throughly who they are recommending to their customers. Porch did not have good customer service and did not seem to care when I called to complain.

First of all, it’s hard to understand the representatives of American Homeshield due to their heavy accent. My AC unit stopped cooling, the diagnosis is a leak in my evaporator coil. American Homeshield refuses to repair my AC because they claim the damage is not wear and tear. My unit is 20 yrs old and I live in Florida. I have been w/o AC for three weeks due to their slow process. I have a daughter that takes chemotherapy and after Chemo she is so sick and she has to come home to a 90 degree house thanks to American Homeshield. Buyer be ware, they are not in the business to repair your appliances but in the business to have contractors go out and try to sell or push on you a new AC. The technician they sent even asked for my credit rating. The technician said AHS would not cover the cost of your parts and they were right. DONT USE THIS COMPANY ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE AN EXTREMELY ILL CHILD. They will use the excuse that is not wear and tear on you AND LEAVE YOUR CHILD SUFFERING. GO TO ANOTHER COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!

Horrible company! The monthly price increased. When the technicians gets send out it’s another $100.00 dollar fee. You are practically spending $200.00 dollars out of pocket. Technician comes out then reports it to AHS, who declines the repair. They have added many stipulations to their policies so they don’t have to cover repairs. Their office is set up in the Philippines and not in the United States. Every single time that you call, you are speaking to a different agent in the Philippines and you have to repeat your issue over and over again. Several people have drop coverage through American Home Shield. I believe that will be the next one.

American Home Shield is the worst warranty company that I have ever worked with. They send companies out to fix things it then limit what can be done to actually fix the problem so I have to pay another fee to get the same problem fixed 5-6 months later. Most of the customer service people that answer the phones, have no power to actually take care of the problem and most of them refuse to get you to someone who can help. I have had many of them tell me that they will have a manager/supervisor call me back when they tell me that they cannot transfer me to someone and then I never get a call back. Then later, I find out that they can transfer me to someone who can help and all of the previous reps lied to me. I have had one good experience in all of the times that I called customer service. I have called dozens of times. No one at the company communicates with each other, so when things have been done, no one knows about it and just tells me that they can’t help me. They even have contracts with companies who don’t even have licenses to work in my city/state and then the company doesn’t do the job and they blame it on me and say I need to pay out of pocket to have some huge job done. I have AHS send out another company for a second opinion, and not only do they do the job, but they do it quickly and professionally and they let us know that the other company isn’t licensed to be able to work so it caused days of extra stress and inconvenience when I didn’t need to. I have worked with several warranty companies with the homes that I have owned in the past and this company is by far the worst one ever! I would give zero stars if I could. I would never recommend their services.

I appreciate the woman I talk to the second time. She was very professional and understanding. My serviceman was very knowledgeable and I received service immediately. Thanks to the the service I received that day. They took care of it. The man did not quote me a ridiculous price. However the other man who came to check my air conditioner said it would be 1,200. And the problem was not solved because I could not the repairs . But my neighbor fix it and it was a wire that was burn. The electrical manwas honest and fix my electrical problem. I was so impressed with this electrical gentleman . Thank the lord there are companies who are honest.

This company is useful...but I've been having problems getting both sides of the duplex serviced, so when a company (ex:appliance service) comes to check things they won't do both sides even with the request and proof of emails from AHS stating that's what I requested. Not sure why I'm paying for things that I can't get handled. Hope they get things sorted out because this is getting to be quite taxing. Thanks for reading this.

I would not recommend this service to anyone I know. I have been a customer for a very long time and have never really had any good experiences. After you initially do the intake of requesting services, it is usually because some emergency, it takes a long time to get someone to come fix it. If your refrigerator or washing machine is not operating, you don't have the luxury of waiting 2 or 3 weeks to get that initial appointment. What I have learned the hard way is that once they do come, it may take another several weeks as they wait for parts etc. I have been in this situation many times. In addition, many local companies do not want to do any service for AHS as they all have said they take an incredibly long time to reimburse them.

Every call person is foreign and is just reading scripts, not knowing what really is going on. They can't listen to you because if a questions/conversation goes off script they just answer generically to their script. They also use cheaper professions (not big outfits) in which our plumber didn't even have the proper equipment to remedy the problem, which just wasted our time and had to work with a bigger company. We are now 3 different companies involved and still no resolution. They couldn't even download our contract so when I wanted to discuss what was covered, we couldn't even do that. Just amazing terrible.

Had my rental unit AC go down. They could not get there for a week, Finally agreed that I could get an outside contractor to go over. They came, made there recommendation, then American Home Shield wanted a second opinion, so then we had to wait for that . With the inside of the home temperature in the mid 90's with 4 large fans I provided, I had to put my tenant up on a hotel until they got the unit fixed. That cost me about $1,000 out of my own money. Why am I paying them $815 for the year! The HVAC company I had go check the property said it needed extensive work. The main part it needs is no longer available . So they did not approve the repairs. The company person they sent out said he squirted some stop leak in it for the freeon and got it working for now. and will see how long that holds up before my tenant is without cooling again. Now I have a second rental the unit has quite working, and so far it has been 4 days, they are not scheduled to come out for 3 more days, and it is getting over 93 degree inside the home. The tenant is upset, can't sleep because it is too hot and she needs to get sleep! Had another unit the dishwasher stopped working and it is taking 2 weeks to get that fixed.

When buying a home you don't have the history of existing appliances and the home warranty should cover problems. My refrigerator repair request was denied because screws on the back were loose. Apparently the bottom freezer defrost line had previous issues so the repair wasn't covered because "it was preexisting". Because I'm new customer and "didn't understand" the fine print, they refunded the $125 service fee. I still have to call for repair service which could be a lot more then $125. In meantime, I can't my crisper drawers because of water drainage into and below them them.
