Still waiting to get parts which might fix my pool heater. The jury is still out as to whether or not the substitute parts will get it working again. It could very well turn out that the heater needs a complete replacement. The overall delay in getting it fixed or replaced is disappointing.

We had to wait 4 weeks for delivery of an item and the item was already delivered to the 3rd party to install. They then told us we had to be home for the delivery, which was fine. However, I had to take off work to be home during the 3-7pm time frame and the installer came at 1:00 - messaged me that he was eating dinner at 5:00 and couldn't make it back to install my machine. I had to take off work to meet him and I was home during that time- He let me know that it would be an additional 3 - 4 weeks as they would have to put me back on the delivery schedule. This is absolutely not okay and reflects poorly on American Home Shield as a company.

AHS is all about money, not insuring the workings of our homes. They work very hard to sign up their customers and even harder to limit their payments to those customers. Customer service is excuse after excuse from agents who can’t talk to each other. Not one of the many I’ve dealt with ever took any responsibility toward a solution to their non sensical rules

The technician they sent was a heavy smoker. He reaked of it and even went outside to take a smoke break; therefore my non-smoke home smelled of smoke for a few days. I think technicians should be vetted because I am allergic to smoke and cigars. Other than that, he was very professional and solved the leaking problem.

We are having a major issue with a blockage in one of our indoor drainage systems. After sending the same company our twice, neither time did they check the inside drains where the problem is stemming from. They went straight to the outside septic both times they came. I called AHS only to be told the inside drains weren't covered by our warranty. WHAT?? It's a home warranty!!! So I wonder why I pay them every month for something that I can't use when I need it. By the way it isn't cheap in my opinion. Maybe it's time to find a new home warranty!!!@!

They need to tell people that they dont replace broilers, that they only replace furnaces. This was not disclosed to me from them. I assumed that it was a full replacement. All other coverage's are cool . Also i never recieved my refund of money paid to a vendor they had who charges for everything i have complained and still complaining about Unity heating svc and they still tried to send him out to fix my heater . Quality Air hvac are great!

It took four months and three different service companies to determine that my refrigerator could not be repaired. I kept getting the standard speech from customer service representatives in spite of my plea to expedite my tenant's refrigerator repair due to his medical condition that required that his medication be refrigerated. I had to purchase a dorm sized refrigerator and pay for daily meals. it cost me a lot of money. The last service company determined that the refrigerator could not be repaired which was what I was told the by the second company but they didn't indicate that on the report. I had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in order to get someone in authority to respond. I have two contracts with AHS that I will not renew due to the aggravation and expense.

I’d give them a zero if I could. I have never been more disappointed or unsatisfied in my life! They sent a contractor to fix our ice maker. This contractor was appointed by AHS and we were at their mercy. The contractor did NOT fix our problem either time he was here. He lied about the work he did and reported that the service request was completed, blaming us for the broken ice maker. I contacted AHS to make it right and they said they would have a second company come out for a second opinion. IF the diagnosis is the same as the POS they sent the first time they would charge us another $75! If it is a different diagnosis they won’t charge us. This is crap. I’m so angry we have been treated the way we have been by AHS and their terrible companies they use. The reviews for the original company were absolutely terrible and the second opinion company has just as terrible reviews. Don’t use AHS or NORRODS Appliance Repair!!

Price jumping 20+ bucks for renewal. When you go to the website you all still offer three plans but yet told me you no longer have it. Additionally there are other companies who are rated better than you all and plans are cheaper

Customer Service was quick to dispatch and the plumber assigned was great. My issue was that AHS ordered the incorrect water heater twice causing an almost two week delay in completing my repair. Finally got it right and the plumber installed quickly.

if I could give it a zero stars, I would. The first technician that came out, said the blower motor was broken and I asked for a second opinion they agreed the blower motor was broken yet home shield would only replace the entire furnace that didn’t match my other two units and almost cost me almost $2000 by misdiagnosing the furnace problem. Don’t waste your money. Call professionals that work on the models that you own. thank goodness I finally figured out what my gut was trying to tell me and actually called a Lennox dealer “ all they had to do was open up the manual and reset the panel.” was what my Lenox dealer said for 150 bucks. Nobody of course is apologizing for the big blunder it’s really not worth it.

We've had no heat for almost 2 weeks. The furnace guy was here maybe 15min. Said he might have to order the part. Or maybe YOU would send someone who has it. We are really upset about the so-called appts. They call out of the blue and say they'll be there in 15 min? I am disabled. I can't run to the door so someone else has to be home. My grandson has been here waiting but he had private business this weekend and no one else was here. The guy called on Sunday I believe which I didn't even know they worked then. He said 15 but I didn't talk to him just got his message. He says in his own words he never came anyway so? I've paid my $100 and you will be taking out more on Feb 27th. Please tell me what I am paying for? I know our house is old and in bad shape. Sorry. I don't have the money or ability at this time. Only for the furnace first We are trying to prep the thing for him. Thank you.

For 15 years American Home Shield was great. Since 2022 the service in appliance repair has suffered. We have been trying to have our refrigerator repaired for almost a year. First there was an issue with parts, then poor communication between the vendor and AHS. Then, the vendor did not have a technician in our area and we had to wait for a new vendor. Now, our appointment for repair keeps being delayed. We have also been waiting for our oven repair for over a month.

Two of the venders (plumbing and garage door) were useless. Plumbing tried to send us to his "friend" who seems to be running an insurance scam. The garage door guy did nothing but try to get us to replace everything - even though he knew is wasn't covered.

I ended up having to pay out $1500 of pocket costs for mistakes made by an AHS contractor. I disputed the costs but had to pay them to get my heat fixed during the winter. I asked to be reimbursed since the problem was clearly the fault of the contractor. AHS basically just chose to ignore me. Every time I call I’m told I’ll receive a call back and I never do. I’ve asked to speak with someone other than the customer service people and I’m always denied.

AHS promised to issue a refund of my $75.00 service fee due to AHS dropping the ball in getting my hot water heater. I went 3 weeks without hot water. It took 3 weeks to get the hot water heater in the midst of extreme cold weather. I’ve called many times following up on my refund. They lie to me promising it will be refunded As of yet, no refund. I’ve incurred an increased water bill, I have lost faith and trust in AHS. I’ve talked to 2 plumbing companies that no longer work with AHS because they end up not paying the contractor after telling them they would. Just like they have done to me. Now 2 times. First time back in summer of 2021 and again in winter of 2022 for the hot water heater.

American Home Shield is a nice comfort to have as additional protection but the prices have gotten a little outrageous. This will be our last year with them due to the yearly increase in price. We use the service but not enough to continue enduring this. It's also very difficult to get an American agent. Sometimes the language barrier is too much to encounter when you're already frustrated from a malfunctioning item.

I had a contractor tell me they were unable to complete a job and they would report back to AHS. It has been over a month and my bathroom is still unusable and I have spiked to AHS five times and keep getting the same run around. I just need a contractor to come out and complete the service. Other than this serious issue, service has been adequate.

I like the customer service, and they will find you a vendor for the work. I don’t like to have to pay for a warranty yearly, and then a deductible to be told that if the job is major your not covered and you have to pay out of pocket and I’m supposed to be insured.

Over the past few years the service has started to drop. All customer service reps have been outsourced to an overseas call center and they provide fame American names. Less and less contractors are working with AHS because they've made it extremely difficult and this has caused extreme delays in services and repairs. Took over a month to get my furnace repaired. I had to find my own contractor and guess what? He was in-network with AHS. What once was an extremely good company has become mediocre. From speaking with contractors it's still the best option though.

AWFUL SERVICE! My water heater went out and I contacted AHS. They assigned a contractor to come fix it but he did not show up. I tried several times to contact him myself but he would never answer. Contacted AHS and explained the problem. They advised they would try to contact the contractor. He still didn't answer. They said they would have to escalate the issue to "Contractor Relations" and somebody would be in touch with me with 24 hours. 3 days later and still no hot water nobody from AHS has contacted me. So, I went out and bout the water heater myself and replaced it as well. Im not going without hot water. I called AHS back and told them nobody has contacted me so I had to replace it myself and I wanted my $125 service fee refunded. After about the 5th scripted apology they told me it would take 21 days to get refunded. They will not refund the $569 dollars I had to spend for the water heater. I still haven't got my service fee refunded. This was my first claim with AHS and definitely my last. BUYER BEWARE!!! I will not recommend this company to anybody. In fact, I'll steer them clear of it. And PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE A SCRIPTED COMMENT ABOUT HOW YOU HATE TO HEAR ABOUT MY INCONVENIENCE.

I have been struggling to get my refrigerator issue solved for over 2 months. They have charged me $125 call fee and already closed the service call as complete while I do not have a working refrigerator. They take no ownership or responsibility to follow up with the service providers, they do not maintain any support call logs to track issues. I call almost every week and their associates ask me start all over with the whole history. Frustrating part is every associate gives me same answers that we will resolve this with in 24 hrs and then there is no follow-up. Next week I start at beginning again. I wish there was some consumer forum or court where I can sue them.

It's been 3 months and our refrigerator has been broken. They engaged Express Appliance which nearly burned down our house. They burned the refrigerator electrical circuit. They had no experience with Subzero refrigerator. Then they wouldn't come to change the circuit, I had to call an electrician who came and refused to work because refrigerator was too heavy and he couldn't move it. I had to hire a mover to pull the fridge out so that electrician could fix the circuit. Then had to call Express Appliance back again and they came and said they don't have the parts. Now 3 months later. AHS has to review this case and let us know what they want to do. This is ridiculous!

Ice Maker and Wash machines repairs were both initially denied because Universal 1 Repair service that AHS hired to dispatch blamed home owner for overloading appliances which was completely fraudulent claim and not true with homeowner being a single household with below average use of appliances. Homeowner had to request second opinion service call from another company assigned by AHS before finally getting any action on the claim. The part could not be ordered and AHS offered to replace with compatible or like appliance but real cost was much more from retailer. Wash machine replacement offer from AHS was at a fraction of the cost of real replacement cost that home owner received quoted from multiple appliance retailers including Home Depot and Lowes and several other local appliance stores. Icemaker was never repaired properly even after 3 visits by repair service and homeowner paid for 2 separate service dispatches.
