I like the fact that it took no more than two days to resolve the problem. The service provider came out the same day that the claim was filed. The next day the claimed was approved and fixed. Amazing!!!

No urgency from majority of representatives. They seem to provide information based on what has been updated in their computers and go no further to help, even when I have checked with the assigned technician's company to get their status. Last year I waited 4 months to get my refrigerator repaired and this year, I waited 6 weeks for them to make a decision that my refrigerator had to be replaced. Very frustrating experience. I don't know the name of the last sales representative I worked with, but she actually went above and beyond to help me with my refrigerator. Like I had already done, she called the repair company to find that they had sent emails to American Homeshield, but the system had not reflected the content. She resolved my anxiety by pushing to get me resolution based on the repair company's recommendations. She deserves a 5 stars, but I do not have her name.

Very disappointed with the results of the last interaction. Specifically the electrician told me absolutely there WAS NOT a water damage issue yet the woman on the phone just repeated the same verbiage as the first electrician stated. While I understand things may not be covered I was very disappointed on how this issue was not resolved. When I asked for input on someone to hire to resolve this issue I was told to do a search online. I just expected more. Hopefully any future issues will be covered so I don’t have to deal with this again

A little upset that it doesn’t cover all appliances. When I called about it—I was told I was too late to add on the service. I would have hoped they would have been more blunt about not covering everything early on and sent emails about it but understand it’s a business and about the money. In the future I will stick with Choice Home—-had them in Indy with no issues and everything was covered.

Having it is peace of mind. But I had to have plumbers come out twice with a bathroom water problem. Having to pay twice the $125 fee was a bit much since the second plumber did nothing but look at my toilet, literally. I had to take the toilet apart, remove it and replace the ring myself. My first claim took 2 professionals to complete. I had to pay 2 deductibles. The second claim was not completed. I tried several times to call, but the only answer was that they were waiting on the diagnosis from the company. They never returned my call. The last claim was for my freezer. It took them 7 days to come out. We lost over $350 worth of meat.

I have been a customer for a long time with American Home Shield and have had excellent service up to my last ticket. My refrigerator went bad, and AHS had Gary Appliance Report Incorporated come to my home. They could not fix the problem and said it was the condenser. No, I'm four days into losing my food in the refrigerator. AHS contacted another Service representative, Brooks Appliance Repair, LLC. They said they would have to order the parts to fix my refrigerator. Now, I have to wait another week or two. I had no choice but to buy a new refrigerator. AHS should have taken care of me better than they did. I will keep both refrigerators after the old one gets fixed. I'm a little disappointed in AHS

I'm a huge supporter of AHS however I was not pleased when it came to my AC system breakdown and AHS did not cover the repairs. Per your own commercials you cover AC systems and that is not completely truthful. If that had been true, you would have received 5 stars.

On the last service request I ended up arranging for a different plumber who was prompt, courteous and great service.

Took over a week to respond. Granted, it was the week between Christmas and New Year, but a message on the voicemail saying they would be closed would have been helpful. Other than that, they came and diagnosed the issue quickly and fixed it within a 1/2 hour.

Often it has taken too long for service, i.e. waiting in the heat of summer for A/C parts to arrive at the service company, the. To have the wrong part arrive. Recent washing machine repair has been much better, although it was a warranty issue of the previously installed part, and we had to pay AHS normal service fee.

I would have put 5 stars but I’ve been without a washer and dryer for weeks. AHS says to call the company and make an appt for install. I call total applicance and they claim to not have any idea when AHS will send the parts over and will not make an appt with me until. Total Appliance has been their own nightmare. Calling and then cancelling appts bc they are closed that day or looked at the wrong customer’s info. Just a mess

I think it's ok. When we started we had a monthly rate and every year you have gone up considerably we are at a high monthly rate. I do not understand how you go up a lot monthly ever year. I have spoken very highly of American Home Shield to many people who talk it down, I have gotten people to change their minds and given the company a chance, now I feel like a fool. the last two years I have not talked this company up or suggested anyone to use it. if this is how you do business I thin its terrible. our monthly rate has gone up almost $75. additional dollars from where we started. so I'm thinking that's how you make your money. keeping fingers crossed going to watch what happens.

i’ve been a customer for over a decade. 1. i don’t care for the fact that you can’t request a preferred vendor based on past experiences; 2. not enough items are covered; 3. when replacing an appliance, AHS leans towards the least expensive instead of matching as many specs as possible; 4. customer service specialists don’t always understand. my last claim was denied and it took too much of my effort to get my deductible refunded.

It's a good warranty to have . You have to lay $100 for any service visit. I found my most recent interactio a little difficult because I could not reach a live person. They deal with a variety of service vendors so you're not always receiving service from the same vendor which I would prefer. Appointment scheduling is not bad.

Your system took my credit card information over the phone and has to accept before I can get service for a claim. I get an email today for service I had completed the week of Christmas stating I owe $100 and that it was due January 8th. That was two days late. Have no clue why I am getting this so late but have no clue why the prompt when calling in takes my credit card info and approves when I called in before christmas. Service was done December 26th. You need to get. A need to get a better system. When I called to get the $100 paid today, I was told they will unfreeze my account. So my account was frozen for a system you use that is faulty. In the short time I was with AHS my fee was raised twice. The last raise was substantially more then reasonable. $62.99 total. I was told it was because the contractors raised their fees. I had to change home warranty Companies because of the fee increase.

Within a few minutes of putting in a request I get the name and phone number of the contractor that will do the job and told that the company will call me within 24 hours of a business day and if i haven't heard from them in 24 hours, I am to call them.

When my policy renewed, it was significantly higher than the prior year and I called to cancel. I was offered a retention incentive that reduced my overall annual expense to the same amount as the prior year. However, I just checked my account and none of the promised adjustments were made; the most recently payment is still the same, higher amount. I liked my service until this issue came up. I am now considering cancelling my policy. I hope I can get it resolved soon but it will take more time out of my day to connect with customer service, which is very annoying.

We are in a rural area with limited service providers. When we need service we may have to wait a week or more before your service people can come to our area. Then we wait a week or more for ordered parts. It’s too slow of a response. Then if a the repair doesn’t work and a part isn’t available you want to rebuild a part. Again this is a huge inconvenience for people in rural areas. It could be a month before the appliance is fixed. Not acceptable. All of that to avoid replacing an already aging appliance.

Way too many plumbing issues where American Home Shield does not cover the problem. You’re then out $75.00, with a plumber asking you for 2 to 3 hundred dollars. Then you’re stuck - if you decide to get another plumber, it’s $140.00 for a house call, plus repair costs. I’ve had AHS deny a plumbing claim for a toilet repair because the plumber said there was minor rust in the tank. All toilets have minor rust, in a porcelain tank.

So far so good. The people sent by AHS to do requested work are professional and capable, and get the job done. My one small beef is that I wish I could be contacted more quickly. A garage door co. was supposed to be open 24/7, but did not call me until the weekend was done, even though I had called in the problem on a Saturday morning.

The response from assigned contractors is great. The contractors are professional and doing fast job. The only issue I can see there is no coordination from Home Shield. They wait until they receive work done by contractors where they do not communicate with the home owner.

Truthfully, the customer service sucked the first two times I attempted to call in the middle of winter. I was told that 36° is not cold enough for me to have an emergency call when there is kids in the home. The empathy from the customer service sucked. I had requested a manager, and I was ridiculed for even requesting one. In regards to the contract if I know or knew what I know now I probably would’ve never done it.

I have been with AHS for years and this was the worst experience yet. On 9/20/22 made appointment for my A/C not cooling. On 9/22/22 Doctor Cool showed up at 5pm. He said it was a relay, however my A/C was making a very loud metal noise in my indoor vent. He ordered only a reply part so came on 9/24. This technician identified 3 other parts Blow Motor etc. The office called and said they have to fax AHS because as of Jan'22 the parts have to be purchased from their vendor and shipped to them. I live in Las Vegas and it was 98 with inside temp 89. I am 70 and this was so hot I had to sleep with a spray bottle. I have ceiling and floor fans. The parts came in but still had to wait until Oct 1st for the technician to replace them this was now 12 days. Customer service horrible, I called 4 times 2 of which I was left hanging on phone for 20 min. Still can't get direct answer why parts can't be purchased locally like they were in the past. I obtained a policy with American Home Shield almost a year ago. I have friends and family that have policies and they rave about them! My AC went out the only thing it needed was coolant which is the only thing that’s not covered. My husband hasn’t worked in well over a year. I obtaind this policy so that in the event anything did happen we would be covered and we weren’t. I still have the policy. I pray to have better experiences in the future if/when need be.

AHS is a great company and has been a part of our lives for over 10 years. The customer service department is great like Christiana and Honey, the escalation department, etc. I believe they are awesome!!!!!

We requested a dishwasher repair on Mar 22. It has been eleven weeks and we still do not have a working unit. Six techs from two different contractors have seen the machine and today a third contractor was assigned. No one can fix it, but AHS refuses to throw in the towel and offer a replacement. Setting aside the countless hours lost to appointments, how much patience is expected of us customers? This prolongation strategy cannot be cost effective for AHS either. Is anybody minding the store? We had another experience where an AHS plumber offered to fix a leak for $7K over and above the AHS allowance. We found a licensed contractor locally who proposed an effective alternative for only $2K, and his solution avoided another minimum $10K in fixture and flooring replacements! And I'm supposed to trust these guys!

I like the service and being a homeowner of 1 there are some repairs I cannot do. The service sub-contractors that they have sent to my house has been excellent and very professional in the service I have received thus far. I give 4stars because everyone can stand to make improvements.

"+" after 7 service calls and $200 out of pocket we are getting a fair replacement fridge. AHS: good. "-" Lowes gift card issued for replacement...ordered/paid Sunday to deliver Friday, Lowes "loses" fridge & waited until delivery day to tell us. Ordered/paid 2nd fridge on Friday to deliver Sunday and did not get on truck. After hours on phone now getting delivered Monday (instead of originally on Tuesday). Full week without a fridge, Lowes: awful.
