Service is quick on both part but if I have to pay 75.00 upfront to service my work order and paying the monthly payments on AHS. I don’t understand why I have to pay extra to the company to get my water heater replaced. Service should have been paid by AHS for their service not the customer.

It takes too long to complete the service. One appt to assess and then time to approve and then time to get the job done. In my situation, the first assigned contractor called in sick which would have extended the time with that company 1 week. I asked for a different company. The company contacted AHS but when AHS quickly notified me that another company was given the assignment, I called that company. They did not receive the work order. I went to AHS and asked them to resend, and still the company did not receive the work order. I called AHS again and explained that I would lose my place in line for the work order to be completed if the company did not receive the work order IMMEDIATELY. After 15 min. the company called me and said they finally got the order. The contractor fixed the clogged drain the next day instead of doing the usual estimate and then waiting for approval and scheduling an appt. to repair. I am very appreciated that he was willing to do that. AHS takes way too long getting things done that could be done simply.

This address belonged to my mother until June 30th of 2022. She talked to me of the denials she received due to, "Not Covered", claims when she clearly had a problem. By the time I heard of the problem, it was well over the 30 days to complain period. Well, now I am the owner and I see her point. My first problem and AHS did not take care of me as their customer. And I believe this address have been warranted for a few many years. I am not going to hold on wishing they'd have my back. I gave them them three attempts. Three strikes. I paid for two opinion and they offered the third opinion. All three suggested the same thing and AHS denied all three. A home with 42 year old galvanized pipes with multiple weak point and a leak with a clamp on it. A metal clamp on a rusted leaking metal pipe; Hummm? Here's a puzzle for you. ● How many clamps do the pipes need before they warrant replacing? All three Plumbing Technicians suggested re-pipe. There is no preventive maintenance for pipes like there is for HVAC. It isn't like we can climb into the attic and oil/lubricate the pipes. Anyway, I can be so much more detailed,but there may not be enough space. So this is my openness.

Not crazy about the 100 service fee. A bit steep along with the monthly fees, but all in all, a good service. We had a few glitches with items that needed to be replaced, but their customer service has been responsive and things get sorted out.

I am 71 years old. I opened my garage door the other day and the motor was smoking. I couldn’t get up to unplug it. I panicked and called a company that had done annual service for me. They were here within 5 minutes. It turns out that the motor burned out. I needed a new one. They fixed it for me. I asked if they work with the Home Warranty Company and his answer was no because we don’t get paid. I jad no choice but to pay them. I called AHS to seek reimbursement. They said NO because I hadn’t gotten prior authorization. Was i suppose to let my house burn? Their response time has been horrible in the past. Sometimes as much as 3 weeks out for a freezer not working. I have been a customer for at lest 20 years and am seriously considering changing companies. I have the warranty because I am on a fixed income and can ill afford big expenses like this. A VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER!!!

It's easy to book appointments and the monthly premium is reasonable. About 50% of the contractors they send have no clue what they're doing and aren't someone I would hire if I were able to choose. In year 2 AHS has become very selective about what they're willing to pay for. I often pay the deductible only to have a contractor tell me what I need isn't covered. Frequently I'm out the $$ for my deductible and still have the problem to fix on my own.

It takes a very, very long time to get warranty items fixed. A lot of run around with vendor companies once a warranty claim has been submitted and a service call has been scheduled. Vendors never seem to know anything about claim or what they're working on once they arrive. I had to call two different companies to get my dishwasher fixed and spent a very long time on the phone and on hold. Eventually was fixed but the whole thing was a process.

Have been a customer for over 15 years. Overall was very happy but seems like they sent their customer service oversees a couple years back and were not staffed properly. Hold times were hours long and it was difficult to understand representatives. Hold times have greatly improved but representatives have heavy accents and very canned word tracks they have to stick to so it is difficult to have a conversation. Overall repairs are prompt it just gets tedious if you have to call in to address a problem.

As with everything there are pros and cons. Pro is the job always gets done. The cons are they use a different company to complete the same job vs having the same company go back out. To me this is their way of not creating a paper trail so they don’t have to replace major appliances. I’ve been dealing with an HVAC system for about 6 years and the amount of money I’ve pour into service fees and repairs I could have already purchased a new system.

Response is usually very timly, however if the contractor does not respond quickly, I as a customer have to pester the contractor to respond. I would rather AHS stays on top of the response and pester the crews until they roll a truck to the house.

I have carried home warranty service for more than 20 years and have a hit-or-miss experience with American Home Shield. Fir smaller items, I get prompt, affordable service - dishwasher, microwave, faucet, etc. However, they also put me through he;; and back trying to recover money after they authorized me to pre-pay for an air conditioner repair (none of their vendors could work on the unit) in the heat of summer. The repair company worked with AHS and got all of the approvals, but I got the run-around for something like 1-3 months trying to be reimbursed.

AHS has really helped us in many ways with repairs and replacements. However, they really need to understand that most companies are off on national holidays. so if you have a problem on New Years Eve (like we did) or New Years Day (again, like we did) AHS might circle the proverbial wagons with their list of sub contractors......BUT they wont be working. (This might be due to the outsourcing of the customer service though....) They really need to improve communication with their sub contractors AND customers alike. Based on previous experience, and over 3 homes, AHS is good with brand new customers; however they are absolute failures and downright rude with existing/longtime customers. Quite frankly, proceed at your own risk. They are becoming the butt of their own joke at this point.

AHS pretty much covered for my appliances! Only thing is that some of the labor fee wasn't covered, it's still cost a bit there. If AHS can deal with the contractors and have those fees down. It'll be even better!!!

AHS is worth the money. But this time they assign a contractor who not only didn’t fix my pump system but left me with nothing working correctly and damaged they caused. Now I have leaking pipes after they stepped and leaned all over them. Watertite failed you and me. My hope is that you never contract them for another pool repair job.

I dislike that they send out the same companies time after to.e even when you tell them those companies don't do anything. It takes forever to get an appliance fixed or replaced. Perfect example is we have had people out 4 times lately over our washer not working. Finally after 3 times we got a different company sent. However after 2 days the washer is again not working. It's been going on for about 2 months and the problem still isn't resolved!

They assign your claim to the contractor while you are still on the phone reporting it. By handling in this way, you may be assigned to someone 50 miles away, that can't get to you for 3 to 4 days. Had they checked closer they might have had one close to you that could have handled sooner. As warranty companys go they are probably as good as any.

We have been without Heat for 10 days now. It is the middle of winter and we are in our 70’s and my husband has breathing issues as a war veteran. We were advised it would take at least a week to get the new furnace but our local contractor advised us he received the incorrect parts yesterday. So more delays. We have been AHS customers for many many years and this is first time we've needed a large repair. Disappointing.

The service techs have always showed up on time. However, one recent problem was never solved by the initial plumber, the problem ended up not being with the tub, but primarily with the toilet; gases were escaping from the base of the toilet, as the customer I figured it out and called AHS again for another fee to come replace the wax ring. Problem resolved - - finally.

It seem like it times a company vendors at time look for a way not to cover an item when it breaks down. I have another contract with you that needs an HVAC repair. They sent someone out there who was going to do the work, but then your company asked for a second opinion because they told me your contractor wanted too much money for the job. The second company couldn’t do it, and now it’s in limbo waiting for approval. This is for a tenant who needs heat in our home. I have several complexes I want to use your company, but you need to be more responsive and take care of things when they break down.

Like: good techs sent most of the time. Dislikes: Hold time if you have questions. Unsure: Last repair required me to find my own tech with AHS approval, pay the service person $589.67, and wait for the check ... which has not yet arrived nearly a month later. Review will go to zero stars if payment does not arrive soon.

Overall, AHS is excellent! 3d party organizations charge extra charges after installation fees are paid, especially if they have to inspect there is an additional charge for labor and parts.

My initial experience was all over the place and not too good, but since then my next interactions with AHS were great! They diagnosed my problems and either fixed or replaced the issues in a timely manner. Overall I would recommend AHS to other home owners.

The time it took to get my hot water heater was unacceptable. We were without hot water from January 10 - January 25, 2023. I was very disappointed with the answers I received from the America Home Shield (AHS) representative when I asked questions about my invoice. I was told, I cannot see what you have and I cannot answer your questions, I neededcto contact the Contractor. I asked to speak with the billing/invoice department, no one in billing/invoice answered my call, questions or returned my call, I asked to speak with a Supervisor, no one was available and No supervisor has called me back to this very date. I am very disappointed with AHS. The representative did call us back to see if we were going to accept the service with the contractor or did we want to find our own contractor. We had already accepted the AHS referred contractor on the AHS website. That was ridiculous, calling me and asking if we had made a decision, so AHS can process for the water heater and we had already accepted last night. The contracting company started out responding rudely when I inquired about the cost, when we have AHS coverage. They stated that we had to speak with AHS because AHS only paid a certain portion of the cost and the balance was for the home owner. A constant run around,. The contractor did apologize for their attitude and stated that the customers always accuse them about the cost when the customer has to pay the balance that AHS did not cover on their invoice. The Contractor kept us updated on the status of our water heater and agreed to bring it to us as soon as it was in stock. The contracting company worked well with and for us. As soon as they had the water heater it was delivered snd installed, a satisfied customer. I am very disappointed with AHS, staff and lack of communication.

American home shield is a good company, but some of the workers are very rude. The contractors are very unprofessional, they give wong diagnosis. For my cooktop, 3 contractors gave wong diagnosis. I was starting to get frustrated until ASAP Company came and solve the problem.
