I try to tell everyone about AHS it is a life saver. Last year my refrigerator went out and they came out and replaced it with a new one thank you AHS. Then this year had a stoppage problem and it got fixed. I couldn't have done all that without AHS.

This home protection plan was provided in the purchase of our new (to us) home by the sellers. We immediately used a feature that was unknown to me and that was to provide a re-keying service to a new homeowner. Nice feature and the locksmith that responded was timely and knowledgeable. My one disappointment with the policy is the lack of coverage for a pellet stove. Most other types of heating products are indeed covered to the extent of the policy, but not pellet stoves. Since they are quite common these days, it would seem a good idea to include them.

Our airconditioning went out on a hot day. I went online to American Home Shield and set up an appointment. It was super easy and convenient. The company they used was amazing and squeezed us in so we could get our air up and running again within a couple hours! I am super pleased with this company.

American Home Shield has been a great help to me. My water heater went out and when I called for help the staff was courteous and quick to make a call to the local plumber. The plumber came out the same day and did an excellent job. Grade A service from start to finish !

AHS customer for 20 years Norman, OK

Two years ago my central gas furnace failed to light in early December. It took nearly a week to get someone out to look at it. Finally the wrong size gas furnace that could not heat the house. I had to pay hundreds of dollars to meet new building standards. Weeks later after many complaints another company was sent out and installed the correct sized furnace that worked identically to the old furnace. Then two years later my built in microwave failed. Ten days later on my second followup, AHS offered about 70% of the price of buying an identical microwave, but nothing for installation which was another 50% of the price of the identical microwave. I am 75 or I would have just bought a new one downtown and installed it myself which should be easy since it is identical, but I cannot lift the microwave into position above my kitchen range and install it by myself. As a result I am taking the option of having the old one repaired. I suspect it will be another 2 weeks or a total of a month to get the microwave fixed. At 75 years old, many of my meals are cooked in the microwave. I already paid for a year of AHS and then $100 deductible to have to wait nearly a month to get my microwave when I could have just bought a new one and had it installed in days. I don't think I will renew my warranty next March. I have had AHS most of the time for the last 20 + years and they are not the same company they were.

The app was very simple and straight forward to find what issue I had, what times were available for service and the selection of companies. It was also very easy to set up the account with my payment info. After the the company showed up on time, fixed my problem for cheaper than I expected, and that was it. Simple.

I have had two service calls since I joined AHS. Both companies sent to my home were professional and got the repairs done. I put in the information regarding the service I needed, paid the $100 service fee and never paid another dime. AHS are true to their contract and I am so happy I signed up with them.

We give 3 stars instead of 5 because of our current situation. Our AC unit upstairs went out on July 14. We immediately called AHS expecting the same great service as always. Unfortunately a company called T**** A** C*** was assigned to us and they have done nothing but cause more damage to our home. They stepped through our ceiling twice and broke our thermostat and have still not fixed that or the main problem. We've had to borrow a window unit from our inlaws to battle the 100+ degree heat we've been having in NW LA. We are going on day 37 with no upstairs AC. The technician also stood us up tonight after we were told over the phone that we were "next" on his list yesterday.

Home Shield itself was seems ok but their contractors they choose needs to improve. I reported a problem on 9/17. Sears was selected and did not come out until 9/24. 3 weeks later we have not yet resolved the problem. There have been about a dozen calls made to Sears and Home shield over this. Still no conclusion a month later. The other problem causing a lot of the calls was getting cut off while on hold and your personnel not calling back. the last 3 calls I made to Home Shield I requested that if we get cut off please call me back but they did not.

AHS got on this just as soon as I notified them of the problem. And when it turned out a motor had to be replaced, the company they recommended, not only diagnosed the problem, but had a replacement in their truck, so the problem was fixed right away.

We have had good experience with AHS. The best part for me is having one number to call and not trying to find the best repairmen. I liked that feature so much that we've had a plan for 22 years. We have had work done on a number of appliances and have had at least replaced a dishwasher, washing machine, and refrigerator. I do wonder if it would have been better to put the monthly fee into savings and paid it out of that. So I guess one has to decide if convenience is worth the cost.

The only negative was my experience with the AHS phone scheduler. She was very courteous , but had little knowledge of heating systems or her questions about my problem would not have occurred . She spoke poor english. Neither of us could understand the other . The call took about 30 minutes . At conclusion of the call there was little confidence my problem was scheduled properly. Everything worked out great . Great service was given by Myers Heating and Cooling in Birmingham Alabama .

Our pool pump was making this whirling sounds and when I called and told the agent our problem he was attentive, knowledgeable and helpful. We received an email right away from the company and all information that we needed to set up the appointment. Our pool pump was fixed in less than a week.

I have been completely satisfied with Homeshield for covering the repairs of our major home appliances and, eventually, covering the cost of a replacement water heater. If you have 8+ major home Appliances, you need Home Shield to cover repair, especially when the specific appliance warranty has expired.

Woke up on a Sunday morning and the furnace was out. I went online and filed the issue with American Home Shield and within 2 hours, I received a call from the technician letting me know he would be out in the morning. Great service and this on a Sunday! Tech came out, replaced the circuit board and we had heat. Very satisfied!

Called AHS for pool pump repair. They contracted pool contractor to call me. Brent's Pool Service called and scheduled appointment right away. When they arrived, they determined pool pump drive needed replacement. With-in a few hours, Brent's Pool Service arrived with new part and promptly installed. All is good. Very Happy with everything.

We recently had a problem with our washer. It would not agitate or spin. After bringing the problem to American Home Shield we were set up with an appointment with a local appliance repair. The technician came out and identified the problem as the motor. He wasn't real sure they could get the motor due to the age of the washer, but the part was found and installed. Happy and back to washing clothes at home.

Filing a claim for service was quick and easy. This company’s follow through is exemplary. For the most part, they use knowledgeable service people, but if the customer has an issue, they take complaints very seriously and make it right. I do wish they would offer “emergency” service. Even at an up charge. Because my fridge went out on a Friday before a Monday holiday, it couldn’t be repaired until the following Tuesday. I lost more than $150 in meat in my freezer.

AHS was very professional from the moment I called to report my dryer issue. They even delayed my copay until my technician finished the job, nice move. Always report your issue the moment you suspect something is wrong and don't wait until it creates a secondary problem otherwise the repair can result in customer negligence.

I did the service request (for our microwave) online on a Saturday. On Monday, AHS rep called my husband and they set up the appointment for a service on a Thursday. It was the 1st available for a morning service. When the tech came, my husband said he was professional and he fixed the microwave fast. Overall, we had a great experience though this was our first service through AHS.

We had 2 appliance problems occur in the same week. We contacted American Home Shield online. Within 24 hours a repair company contacted us, arrived by the end of the week. One part had to be ordered but everything was quickly up and running. Repair people on time, polite, clean, and effective.
