This company has fixed all of our kitchen appliances. If ( when) we need appliance repairs, I want to have right to choose this particular company. Understand, AHS has been wonderful and has helped me tremendously as I age and I’m a home owner… they have helped me not get overwhelmed being a home owner but there is still room for improvement thus , me writing this because of my latest situation with my built in microwave. I had to be in the phone with some wonderful people but still, fixing this microwave has been extensive and I’m having to hire a carpenter and spray paint my trim kit so it matches the other glossy black appliances in my remodeled kitchen from 2014

The service on a plumbing call was great and the plumber fixed the toilet issue, but not the valve issues. I was told on a telephone call with AHS that the issue was covered, but then when plumber came back, was told the issue was not covered. Very confusing and frustrating. So... I cannot knock the services, but the communication was poor. I should have not had to call AHS to follow up on the submitted quote for outstanding issue, and should have received correct information when I contacted them.

I like how the company got someone out to do the repairs and it was very affordable! However the technician came in March after the work order was placed in February. Then he didn’t come back until April to fix the refrigerator! That was a long wait!

I received a quick response from American Home Shield when I needed an electriction to come out because I was smelling smoke from a wall socket at 04:30, I went online and requested service, I received an immediate response for an electriction to respond, an electriction arrived at approx. 09:00 and resolved the problem.

I am a little unhappy with last service. DNG appliance replaced the broken belt on my clothes dryer. The appliance didn't squeak or squeal before the belt broke but now, with a new belt, the dryer makes quite a noise. I called DNG and was told that my insurance doesn't cover noise. You replaced other stuff in the past that was making noise as the drum turned.

Excellent local service pros and service. Schedule service and notify when they are on their way along with ETA. Courteous and professional service. However, getting them can be a challenge. Poor customer service center, difficult to understand and be understood. US based center would help with both those issues, the US economy and local economies where those workers will spend there earnings.

I am a new customer with AHS. Unfortunately, I had to submit a claim for a repair within two weeks from the date my plan went into effect. The process from start to finish I would rate as well above my expectations. With regards to customer service, the agent I spoke with about the claim was very helpful and accommodating. The repair process was completed within 48 hours . The service technician was very pleasant and efficient in getting the repair completed in a timely manner. Moving forward to another matter, I contacted AHS to discuss a personal matter with billing and I was satisfied with the information that was related to me concerning the amount of the bill. However, I asked if I could make a plan change or upgrade my current plan in order to add additional coverage pertaining to electronic devices, I was told that no changes including the option to cancel the membership was not possible because I had submitted a claim that was approved for payment to the service contractor. I attempted to explain that the information being relayed was not in the warranty booklet I received nor was it stated when I read the information on the company’s website. To the contrary, it stated that additional coverage can be requested and obtained from a new customer if made within 60 days from the date the plan went into effect, which in my case is March 28; 2023., meaning that I should have until May 28, 2023 to add additional coverage. As I have already stated, I am still considered to be a new customer, in my opinion based on the information I hav ever read, where there is no mention that a stipulation exists for anyone who have submitted a claim. I am not having a good feeling from my first impression of the company at this point. I may decide to make contact with another agent or a manager to find out more about this benefit that is offered to a new customer. Until such time, I am left feeling very unsure about what may be real or unreal based on someone’s own interpretation without having to verify with me where I can locate the information in writing that the agent is referencing verbally by phone. Thank you for the opportunity to express my particular concerns about AHS. ,

Member of AHS over 25 years, love the company but notice over the years that some of the contractors has been less then professional (7 - 10 wait before responding) & poor craftsmanship/quality of work (Bissett plumbing came 3 times for the same problem (leak in my bathroom & never corrected the leak), finally paid out of pocket for a plumber to come fix the problem...the 1st time.

Not all things are covered fully. Some things are and when they are it is great like our pool pumps were fixed to our satisfaction. But we had problems with our regregerator and they did not cover an under the counter refrigerator, even though a refrigerator is on our warranty list. Not sure how how things are chosen to be covered or not. They were unable to fix our washer and drier, finally, they said that they could not. We had to buy a new washer and drier.

I called and complained about a certain company and technician being dispatched to my home for issue with my washer and the disrespect of the repairman. As a result this company was placed on my no call list. I was told this had happened so I called a few weeks ago to put a request in for my washer and dishwasher. Found out that the same company that was placed on no call list was dispatched to my service request. I was told that there is nothing that could be done that I had to have a lawsuit on record for them not to dispatch that company to my home. Being told that there was nothing that could be done was honestly very rude and now I’m still stuck with two malfunctioning items in my household. Please explain what do I pay you for?

Timeliness has been inconsistent over the years. We have had some great service and some that was less than good. There has been some language challenges with some of the service companies we have worked with that lead to a lot of frustration. We have been a customer for 19-20 years and don't always think that you are covering enough of expenses for fixed or replaced equipment. We also don't think that we should have to pay extra for emergency service as we are paying for a service whether a small repair of an emergency like a water tank. We chose to use a home warrantee company to keep repair/replacement costs down and don't always feel like that is the case.

AHS used to be a 5-Star company but they have done some things to lessen this rating over the past few years. Example: they sent out a fridge person who had zero idea how to fix our ice machine and damaged it in the process after using a you tube video to attempt to fix it. They also sent another service person who also did not know how to fix it., and wanted to send back the original guy who damaged our fridge to “fix it” after learning that he was incompetent. They also refused to pay for two people (rather than 1) to carry up a very heavy water heater up the stairs which ended up costing us a lot of extra money. More than was expected from the contract. I had to beg them to give us a reputable company to fix our ice machine, who ended up doing a great job. Some things they handle well (general plumbing contractors) and some they don’t, so service has been variable. The cost also keeps rising for their service while their choice of repair persons doesn’t always rise to the level that they used to.

Follow through and communication with the customer is not great in general. Very difficult to get point across no matter how many times I explain, and even when the issue is noted in the notes. For the current open service request for the lower household well (had no water in the house for a week), I am hoping after the contractor is here and takes pictures of the two wells and he submits the final invoice, payment will be made to the contractor less any items that are not covered. The well that the current service request is for, is household well. The payment made last year was for the algaculture well. We took cash in lieu of repair because, AHS could not find anyone to repair it We were out of water for weeks. I explained this for several days. More info on my part if needed.

AHS assigns contractors to your issue quickly. 90% of those contractors reply very quickly and get out and fix your problem right away. When my washer couldn't be repaired they made getting the replacement very easy with several options.

American Home Shield has been both positive and a little negative. They fixed our air conditioning unit and it works beautifully. They have been working on repairing the refrigerator since last September. Both the refrigerator and freezer are functioning well now. The plate on the front of the refrigerator around the water and ice dispenser remains loose and the refrigerator still has not been pushed back into the proper place. We had the holidays which of course are busy in addition to people taking time to celebrate. They unfortuneately had a death in the family and understandably could not come complete the work. I had hoped AHS could send someone else to complete the work and was advised that it would have to wait until March. To be sure I find this frustrating. It's April now and it remains incomplete.

Every time I had a claim an appointment was promptly scheduled and a serviceman showed up when he said he would. The only problems I had was when my wall air conditioner quite working and the serviceman looked at it and said there was nothing that one could do except replace it but apparently he told AMS that it was a window air conditioner being used as a wall air conditioner and they didn't cover window air conditioners. Then right around Christmas and it was zero outside my boiler quit and the same guy that looked at my ac couldn't fix it and knew little about boilers. He said we would have to get a plumber. We had family from out of state staying with us and we were trying to heat the house with the oven and electric heaters and couldn't wait another week for heat so I got the guy that does the HVAC where I work to fix it. Aside from those two experiences it's been great.

It took a little to long to agree to get us a new refrigerator. We didn’t have a refrigerator for a couple of months. We have a new refrigerator now & we love it. The only problem is that it’s missing a right door top shelf. All in all we have had good luck with AHS. We have had them for a long time. We highly recommend them!

It’s a fairly simple process. Go online, select the service you need and they get back to you within 24 hours. Then the company that’s coming out will get ahold of you. Pretty well streamlined and makes it easy for the homeowner.

All outcome were accepable; however, HVAC repair took near the entire summer to complete, and then, just a patchwork fix. The thermostat was done quickly with substandard parts. Those two issues are causing a consideration to changing coverage, but not yet. Just provide the quality service for which you are noted and don't allow either your staff or your contractors to cut corners

After having our AHS warranty for 19 months the day arose when it was 38 degrees, snowing and the furnace had gone out in the middle of the night. I went immediately to my laptop and sent in a request for service to AHS. The AHS representative contacted me and informed me that I would need to authorize her to charge my $100.00 deductible before they could assign a referral for repair, which I did immediately . They assigned a local HVAC company and 24 hours later that company contacted me to set a service call for the following day in the afternoon. The repairman came and examined my furnace, stating that a switch just inside the front cover had switched off and caused the furnace to shut off in the middle of the night. He went on to say that the switch was unnecessary and he was going to remove it and use an electrical cap to permanently connect the wires that were previously connected to the switch. The serviceman departed and the furnace worked for seven days. On the eighth day it ceased working again on a Thursday morning with a temperature of 30 degrees and snow on the ground. I went online to the AHS site and filed a follow up report on the furnace. I was told to contact the original service provider for a return visit as I had already paid my deductible for this issue. I called Morena Service and was told that their soonest appointment would be the following Tuesday morning. Their receptionist recommended that I contact AHS and see if they could find me a different service provider with a sooner availability. I contacted AHS and was told that it was very unlikely that they could find someone but they would look into it. I was told to watch my email and if anything came up they would email me. I never received an email. The following Tuesday morning the same service repairman arrived from Morena and examined my furnace. He informed me that the furnace required parts that he did not have and were not in stock at the supplier. He went on to say that he had not idea when the parts would be available. That was a week ago yesterday and no updates since.

What I have not liked: The automated voice that you get first when you need help (very often you have to repeat what you want and you can't get a real person to speak with), some of the representatives are hard to understand (lately they seem more English proficient- maybe better trained?) Some of your vendors are not very professional and have long lead times as they are out of the area. I also wish you covered door locks and attic lights. What I do like: When a get an excellent local professional, when I get to speak to representative (a real person right away, and as your subscription prices have increased I should be able to complain to one person, not five different people when the AHS contractor wanted to charge me $700. for a water heater replacement when I already had the safety straps required. I asked for a second opinion and that contractor was local and said it would be $200 out of pocket for the same replacement and they were able to do right away. The $700 quite was over an hour away and I had to wait three weeks before they even came out. I complained multiple times, explained this issue to multiple people, and the end result was I received a buyout for $600 and we paid out of pocket $1200. So why should we keep this service ? I was told whoever picks up the job first gets the job. This is not acceptable.
