Terrible. American Home Shield has got to be one of the worst home warranty companies out there. They use sub standard contractors that do terrible work or no work at all. They are a complete waste of money and only survive because they pay websites to give them favorable reviews without ever checking with actual customers. Do not use them. You will be sorry

I was charged for an access fee of $250 because the contracted AC person did not have their own ladder. Getting American home shield to reassign the issue to a different company just resulted in them assigning this back to the same company that didn't have their own ladder. Getting them to find a contractor that can do the work instead of being assigned to a very small pool of contractors. Also was charged another service fee for asking for a second opinion after the customer service rep offered me options when I did not agree with the plumber that spent 10 seconds on 'diagnosis'.

$75 per problem. They said they can have three problem fixed at the same time (with that $75 per visit), but the plumber that showed up said he can only fix the toilet but not other problems (sprinkles, etc.). So it means that for three different problems they call three different people/company and that could cost $75x how many problems. I don't see a point of buying the insurance

Can't get of hold of anyone till two hrs later. and when you put me on hold you cut off phone line and don't call me back, when you say you will if we get cut off. And all the contractors you send to fix my frigerater can't fix the problem. So what are you going to do about it?To fix problem!!!

They don't follow up if the problem was resolved. I have been without hot water for two weeks and they told me to go through the hot water heater company. I understand it it's still under warranty but I asked him to please have a new one installed and will resolve the paperwork on the backend. Pretty much anything in your home that is in the warranty will not get fixed through them. So what's the point?

I have had my contract for 8 years I just found out the washer/dryer is now not included of course when my dryer went out. My service price went from 438 a year to over $500 and less coverage. Last week they sent out a contractor that don't even service tankless water heaters and I keep requesting follow up issue not solved and I'm not getting anywhere!

I am displeased with my service, I never received my $100.00 back from you. You pulled $200.00 from my back account when I owed you $100.00.You set me up with a pluming company but I had air conditioning problems. The air conditioning people you sent said that You wouldn't pay pay the service. I purchased a new unit from them and paid them $4000.00 out of my pocket but you didn't return my $100.00 back from the pluming company. You owe me $100.00. You will hear from me again from Small Claims Court. I cancelled my contract for these reasons..

I was told that our refrigerator needs to be replaced on 7/20 and had to find this out from the repair company as American Home Shield will not contact me. I have been trying to contact the correct department that I was sent to and the phone wait is 2 1/2 hours...every time I call. I was told that they would contact me and it has been a month without any word from American Home Shield.

Had all kinds of problems with my ac unit Coverage. So disappointed. First of all I upgraded my coverage to cover my ac unit and then they tell me it not covered . I paid another upgrade two weeks( two upgrade fee )because the person I talk too said the first one will cover and didn't, and now the unit is recalled which you don't cover!! I'm putting my new unit on Sunday!!! I got charged twice to up grade and that not fair!! I will not use you again!!

Every time we call it is up to FOUR HOURS on hold, IF we are able to get through at all. It has been almost TWO MONTHS and our dishwasher is STILL NOT FIXED. "supposedly" the needed parts have finally been ordered but there is no update on our file, that can be seen when we log on to ahs.com it is impossible to spend an entire day sitting on hold to get any information from you AND this is the SECOND vendor since the first one, who was here 6+ times, was completely inept and useless as my dishwasher is STILL NOT FIXED

I have been trying to get my AC repaired for over a month. The company they assigned first didn't do the install properly. I called AHS multiple times and was told each time someone from their "Contractor" department would call me back. Only to find out there is no such thing as a "contractor department". The AC company originally assigned came out 4 times and never fixed the problem correctly. I did not want the same company out again but AHS would not assist in assigning another company.

Submitted a service call, tech came, and we were told to call back the following week. Did so, were initially told the claim was denied, then put on told and told it was actually approved and that the claim would be processed and some would call within 24 hours, which they did not. Had the same experience 5 more times over the following weeks and have never received a callback from the auth dept. I guess it was denied. HORRIBLE service.
