The contract length is too long. The five years are way too long and should be lowered to three or something. I usually would go on to my laptop and view security cameras and the doorbell and they took that away and now I can't get in there to view alarms. I don't have a phone that can use apps so now I can't see my cameras.

I am a little disappointed with the system. I would like to record live video when I need to. Also, the recorded clips cut off in less then a minute, therefore, causing disruptions in clips of vital incidents.

I still have issues with our sensors anytime we lose power. I’ve made multiple calls that never seem to completely resolve it. If we lose power the process starts all over again having issues with rebooting and sensors.

The alerts on camera have a big delay, when a body is outside to send notification. The motion sensor inside never has worked. My 30 lb dog sets it off.

The original "glass breaker" mounted in the living room was defected and I had to fight to get it replaced free of charge. For the equipment that I am still paying $2400, and had to fight to get a defective part replaced.

We had a tech come out and he said that our patio door sensor is too far from the panel and requires a booster which was never delivered. Apparently tech-related issues are not a priority for Vivint.

My system works ok overall. The cameras are good quality. The lock doesn't trigger correctly and its a pain to do updates. Usually the device needs to be manually reset after every update. It's stopped recognizing my phone too so every time I open the app I get and email and the app won't notify my phone any more.

I like how the system alerts you. I think that the monthly fee is to high. When I got it I had a job... now I don't . I am now having to file for disability and can't work. I was told by my salesmen that I could cancel at any time. He lied.

They're horrible beyond words with customer service , they're never there when you need them, they're by no means reliable, there equipment and phone app both have more bugs in them than " JOES APT"!! And I'm stuck for 4 more years with an unreliable at best home protection system and 24 hr my left ear surveillance. In summation I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND VIVINT SMART HOME.

Customer service is quite courteous, fun, and appreciative. Everything works well except I need a serviceman to come out and check it out. Every now and then an alarm goes off when it shouldn't.

Terrible. Salesman lied about contract length. Customer is absolutely terrible. BUYER BEWARE! They will sell you the equipment and when you sign up for the service, they will tell you that the contract length will depend on how long it takes you to pay off the equipment. 5 years for the equipment at 0% which isn't bad but what they don't tell you is that even of you pay off the equipment, they will charge you for however long is left on the 5 years. I would highly recommend simply safe.

Ever since day one of installation the camera on my doorbell has barley worked. It needs to be reset constantly and you can not do that when your not home. Having the camera fail when your out of state defeated the purpose of even having the system and to not even be able to fix the issue unless your physically at the house does me no good.
