Customer Review: Kimberly from Hurlock, Maryland

"United Health Care is definitely my choice for health care. All bills are quickly and competently dealt with. In addition, when I have called for more information or to check the status of a medical provider, United Health Care has always had excellent customer service. The representatives are intelligent, extremely polite and very anxious to help. Their attitudes are very positive and cheerful. They are one of the best companies in any area that I have ever had the pleasure to turn to."

UnitedHealthcare has received many positive reviews on BestCompany.com. These reviewers mention satisfaction with the claims process, provider network, and coverage.

Coverage Options

Review Icon

Customer Review: CoachTrista from Englewood, Colorado

"I love the plan options I have with UHC. They are the most complete and comprehensive health care our family has ever had. They have helpful programs that can assist with finding providers and plan benefits."

Some of the plans at UnitedHealthcare are open-access, and others are in-network only plans. In-network only plans cover patient care received from professionals UnitedHealthcare has contracted with. If your preferred provider is out-of-network, you'll pay the full cost yourself.

In addition, UnitedHealthcare offers Consumer-Directed Health Plans (CDHP) options that are compatible with Health Savings Accounts (HSAs).

As is typical for the industry, you'll need to work with UnitedHealthcare to learn more about options available in your area.

When considering a health plan it's important to look at the covered services, premium rates, and out-of-pocket expenses to make sure that you find an insurance policy that meets your needs.

Customer Review: Jordon Patton from Pflugerville, Texas

"UHC has been great for us through covering us when we had a baby and when my wife needed a new hearing device. Very widely accepted, so easy to find providers."

Common health insurance plan network structures include Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) and Preferred Provider Organization (PPO). HMO plans only offer coverage for care received by network providers. PPO plans offer more flexibility because they offer coverage for out-of-network care.

Often, in-network service has lower out-of-pocket costs than out-of-network service. You can get the most value out of your health plan by visiting in-network doctors. This will help keep your medical bills lower.

Customer Review: Debbie Stringham from Garden City, Utah

"I'm grateful for their large director for healthcare providers. I appreciate getting a choice."

Because the cost of a health plan varies based on several factors, including the number of people insured and the kind of policy chosen, those interested in a UnitedHealthcare health policy should research plans on its website to understand more about how much you'll pay for medical services with different plans.

Medicare and Medicaid

UnitedHealthcare also offers Medicare and Medicaid plans for consumers seeking Medicare or Medicaid services. It also participates in the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). UnitedHealthcare's Medicare plans include Advantage plans and prescription drug plans. Individuals seeking a Medicare supplement plan (Medigap) can also find one from UnitedHealthcare.

Original Medicare is not available through any private insurer because it is managed by the government. A Medicare Advantage plan covers the same medical services that Original Medicare does. Most Advantage plans also include qualifying prescription drug coverage, which means you don't need to buy additional coverage.

Plan offerings vary by state. Specific information regarding available plans, premiums, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses can be found on the UnitedHealthcare's Medicare site.

Short-Term Health Plans

UnitedHealthcare offers short-term health insurance to people under age 65. These plans are great if you need temporary health coverage. They offer low premiums and primarily cover preventive care and emergency services. They also cover care related to any new illness that you develop while the plan is in effect. Most of UnitedHealthcare's short-term plans also cover prescriptions.

Keep in mind, however, that these plans do not cover pre-existing conditions.

Dental and Vision Insurance

The dental and vision coverage at UnitedHealthcare is also good. The company has websites dedicated to both dental and vision insurance. For dental coverage, there are employer-sponsored plans, individual, and family plans.

These are great resources for individuals buying insurance and employers seeking to offer good health benefits to employees.

As far as individual and family dental plans work, preventative care is generally covered fully without a deductible or waiting period. The cost-sharing for other kinds of dental work varies by plan. Dental benefits differ for every state, but even if the dentist you want to see is out of UnitedHealthcare's network, it still has some plan options for you.

Vision insurance typically includes 100 percent coverage for an eye exam, glasses, and frames, including an option to add a scratch-resistant surface to your lenses. Other benefits depend on the individual plan.

Supplemental Insurance

In addition to health care insurance, UnitedHealthcare offers disability, critical illness, accident, and life insurance.

A few other health insurers offer similar types of supplemental insurance, so these offerings make UnitedHealthcare competitive for those interested in buying supplemental insurance plans.

Employer Offerings

UnitedHealthcare offers group plans for small businesses, large businesses, and national accounts. However many employees you have, UnitedHealthcare offers plans to meet your needs.

UnitedHealthcare's offerings vary by state, so it's best to work with UnitedHealthcare directly to learn more about your options.

Helpful Tools

Most healthcare insurance carriers offer their policyholders member resources. United Healthcare's offers competitive and helpful tools. When you enroll in a UnitedHealthcare plan, you sign up for a personal account in the online portal, myUnitedHealthcare.com.

Through it, you have access to any of the following:

  • Downloadable forms
  • Tools to help you locate a network provider (primary care doctor, mental health professional, dentist, etc.)
  • ID card resources
  • Claims management (for filing a claim and checking its status)
  • A list of the prescriptions you take
  • An explanation of the benefits of your health plan
  • A tool to estimate the costs of various types of medical care with your insurance plan before you receive treatment

Many of these features are also available through UnitedHealthcare's app.

The ability to estimate healthcare costs based on your plan and search costs by service, health condition, and doctor are advantageous. It allows you to understand costs, avoid surprises, and budget for out-of-pocket expenses like copays and coinsurance.

Through this tool, you can also view quality ratings for in-network providers. You can use this tool to find high quality and cost-effective care. This kind of tool and cost transparency is difficult to find in the healthcare industry, so its availability makes UnitedHealthcare stand out from other providers.

Members also benefit from an online glossary of medical terms, a Healthy Pregnancy app, and access to Virtual Visits (telemedicine).

Support for Healthy Living

Members also benefit from support programs that help them live healthy lives. Programs support behavioral health, disease management (e.g. heart disease and diabetes), addiction, weight loss, and fitness.

If you're eligible, you can also access UnitedHealthcare's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to get referrals for assistance with life situations.

Many health insurers offer support programs to their members, and UnitedHealthcare's support resources make it competitive.

Customer Service

Customer Review: Brent Bishop from Layton, Utah

"The customer service there has been very professional. The wait time has been good"

UnitedHealthcare is a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group (UHG), which has decades of experience. Backed by this insurance company, UnitedHealthcare puts an emphasis on technology and innovation. It strongly encourages both individual and societal health.

For five years in a row, Fortune named UHG one of the World's Most Admired Companies in the insurance industry. In addition, the company won a Stevie Award in 2015 for its customer service model, called Advocate4Me. All of these facts about the company add to their overall positive customer culture.

UnitedHealthcare is dedicated to helping people. To contact UnitedHealthcare, people can use phone numbers and a tool to provide feedback to the company online.

UnitedHealthcare further demonstrates its dedication to helping its members live healthier lives and have better health outcomes with its Health4Me app. The Health4Me app contributes a lot to customer service as well.

Through its 24/7 nurse hotline, its tool to refill a prescription, and its capabilities to estimate costs and check medical records, UnitedHealthcare has removed many hassles associated with health insurance logistics. The app even allows members to let customer service know they want to be contacted-making it possible to avoid being put on hold on a phone call to customer service.

The Bad

  • Negative Reviews
  • State-Specific Health Plans

Negative Reviews

Unfortunately, UnitedHealthcare has a substantial number of negative reviews. Having negative reviews is common for the industry. Reviewers who left poor ratings mentioned difficulty with communication, coverage, and claims denials.

As you read negative reviews, pay attention to where reviewers are from. Consider your situation and medical needs with what reviewers share about theirs.

If you're in a similar situation or in the same area, you may want to weigh concerns more as you make a decision. Even if you are in the same area, remember that UnitedHealthcare may offer multiple plans in your area, so you may still be able to find one that meets your needs.

State-Specific Health Plans

One potential disadvantage here is that some health plans and their benefits are state-specific. UnitedHealthcare's website filters its offerings by state. It's easy to see what's available in your state when you look at health insurance options online.

You should make sure that you understand the fee schedule (premiums, copays, and coinsurance), out-of-pocket limit, how the plan covers pre-existing conditions, and prior authorization requirements that are part of your plan.

gavel

The Bottom Line

Choosing a good health insurer and finding a good insurance policy will help keep your medical expenses affordable. UnitedHealthcare is easily a recommended health insurer. UnitedHealthcare has lots of plans to choose from, which makes it easy to find affordable medical coverage. UnitedHealthcare offers health plans across the United States. Moving to a new state may require enrolling in a new health plan to ensure that the benefits apply.

UnitedHealthcare takes especially good care of its members, providing lots of resources. These include logistical forms, health education, discounts on health products, and several ways to contact a health professional for individual assistance.

The pros outweigh the cons with this health insurance company. Plus, UnitedHealthcare highly values quality and tries to bring convenience and ease to health insurance. We recommend working with UnitedHealthcare.

AARP Medicare Advantage through United Health Care. Have to jump through hoops to get the benefits that you choose to use, ESPECIALLY the incentatives. Have had a prescription denied that was a variation of a regular medication due to an alllergy to that formulation. Have had blood test denied for a common medical condition. Last, but not least, have made 2 phone calls, which totaled almost 2 hours, and talked to 8 people, including supervisors in the US and Phillipines about my Amazon over the counter order that I never received, including the part of that order Amazon supposedly sent, only to be given the run around by UHC and Amazon, who charged my account $49.75 and never issued a credit. I've gone to medical school in the US and worked in emergency rooms. I can only image what the average customer experiences, who do not have medical savoir faire. Can't wait to change my insurance p;an!

For a Medicare advantage plan the advertise that this includes rides to doctors appointments. My husband has just started this service and it is absolutely dreadful! Out of three rides ordered the have only got the address right once. So, first time he ordered they call him and they are at the wrong address. Then he had to call his son in law to give him a ride. Then he calls when his appointment is done they came to the right place. This morning a uber drive shows up and says she went to the wrong address. But she also shows up with a car that she says he can only sit in the back. My husband uses a wheelchair and sometimes a walker. He could not swing his legs into the back of this car. It was a good thing I was there or he would have missed his appointment. Why are non medical people being authorized to transport disabled people? This company will call you and bother its member at home but sets them up for failure when it comes to providing reliable transportation for the rides that they advertise as part of your plan.

Greedy company that doesn't care how their referral process impacts patient quality of life. This company is actively working to prevent or significantly delay me from receiving timely care through their difficult referral process. They require your PCP to review both tests and treatment recommendations from the specialists and submit a duplicate referral just to get it covered. Since when does a PCP's opinion of my condition trump the specialist they referred me to in the first place? I was just hit with several thousand dollars in uncovered medical costs for basic tests and treatments that my rheumatologist and neurologist ordered and insurance refuses to pay because they have added an unnecessary layer of PCP referral red tape. It's February and my PCP's office has had to send over 20 referrals on my family's behalf for simple care for my family and the care of my chronic condition. The administrative burden on my life is insane, and I've lost at least 30 hours of my time in the last month trying to navigate UHC representatives, doctors' referral representatives, and my care is delayed due to the weeks it takes to get referrals processed. Not getting timely care due to the extra red tape made my condition worse and is actually increasing the number of doctor visits. Horrible.

I have used United Healthcare for several years. They always have many doctors to choose from in different locations which makes it very convenient. They also allow visits to specialists without the need for a referral from your PCP. The downside is trying to figure out the bills and explanation of benefits forms they send multiple times. Most of the time you need to call United or your doctor to figure it all out.

Unfortunately, I unexpectedly needed surgery 3 months into my insurance policy coverage. I was filled with anxiety and stress because of the surgery, and wasn't quite familiar with my insurance policy. In the past I had experienced some inconsistency with other insurance coverage, and expected more of the same. After the surgery procedure was explained, I was overwhelmed with from stress about whether my insurance would cover the expenses. Once I arrived at the hospital, I was assured by the staff that not only would my surgery be conducted by a experienced surgeon, but my medical cost would be covered by United healthcare. I was visited by a representative of UnitedHealthcare representative, and my policy was explained to me with patience, empathy, and caring professionalism. I had never had to be concerned about my UnitedHealthcare policy again!

United Healthcare is absolutely awful. The first year our organization was with them was great the second year was universally horrible. They made it difficult and at times impossible to get healthcare or prescriptions covered. Their referral approval process has multiple catches and delays so the insured is in violation of their extremely limited time allowances. They dance on the edge of unscrupulous. The financial cost to individuals and families far exceeds any apparent savings. They are extremely difficult to deal with. Stay far far away.

United healthcare almost killed me. They did not authorize my medication ozympic that I was on I had to get insulin and I didn't still pay for that either This is a Crappy company. They will kill you if you're diabetic. The sales people and the people that help you will lie to you. They say they'll call you back and they will not. Then you get ready to take the survey and they will disconnect a call. When you cannot do a survey, Over the phone they will hanging upon you. Their Trifling I HATE this company.

I do my own scheduling and take advantage of UHC transportation services. They are strict on their 3 day scheduling rule. On a recent call to schedule a trip I was faced with a south east Asian who could not be understood. I was transferred to a very nice woman who helped me. I depend on UHC transportation but find it a 1 star, yet the rest of my contact with UHC has been 5 star thus the 3 star rating. I look forward to an improved relationship with UHC because I joined this September 1 and as well they need to get to know me.

Signed up for the current 2023 year. Several calls for customer service regarding Medicare questions were answered in an ambiguous manner. The customer service people are always in a rush to get you off the phone. On my last call I indicated I would agree to taking a survey at the end of the call. The rep made sure he disengaged my call as I waited for the questionnaire to kick in. Just a feeling of 1) they really don't have the knowledge of the answers to give you, hence, they continually put you on hold; 2) they indicate they'll mail you forms needed for DME purchases but they never seem to come. I left Anthem thinking UHC would be a step up. Was I wrong.

I had United Healthcare for 5 years and I must say, I had nothing but good experiences with this company. I noticed when my primary care doctor would need authorization from the company to send me to a specialist, (nose, ear, throat doctor, pulmonary specialist etc.) I would get quick feedback, every specialist that I have seen, there was never a problem with my referrals. Since I had to see quite a few specialist, along with taking test constantly, I never had to cancel an appointment due to no referral from United HealthCare. Great Company!!!

United Healthcare is impressive. They just care and treat all of their customers as they would themselves. I experienced first rate customer service through minor issues that were not their fault. Yet they took ownership and just made things better. You can't ask for better from the healthcare industry. They are an example of what can work well.

All my statements are my personal opinion, based upon my personal experiences with United Health Care. Pre-approval takes too long. They should streamline their processes to make more rapid decisions. Also, their email system is cumbersome, difficult to navigate, and out of date in my opinion. Recently, according to the pain management physician with whom I was consulting at the time, they had arbitrarily decided to no longer approve a procedure merely by labeling it "experimental", despite MANY YEARS of approving it. That action denied me and many other patients an extremely effective treatment for severe pain, and which lasted 3 to 4 times longer than another less effective procedure. They gave no explanation as declaring it "experimental" doesn't require one. At the same time, they denied paying for a pain medication, Tramadol, which isn't actually an opioid, but due to the current opioid crisis still is deemed one. The combination of their two concurrent actions left me with having to live with severe pain while awaiting an ostensibly less expensive pain management procedure without any pain medicine. Now I will need to have 3 to 4 procedures a year instead of 1, and while I await an extended decision period the company operates within, I'll have truly effective manner to ease the severe pain I experience when the less effective procedure affects wear off. I leave to any reader to decide whether they believe this company is acting in the best interests of their subscribers or not.

I have the most Respect for United health care, they have exceeded my expectations in all my contacts with them. When they don't know the right answer they will go to great lengths to call my PCP. or someone in the internal to their co. Until I am satisfied. Been a medical insurance biller for 25 years and UHC has been the worst insurance I had to deal with. Since 2006 when they moved their provider services overseas it has been a headache dealing with UHC. Besides the language barrier, I have to tell the representative how to do their job and asking them to write exactly what I am explaining. When I call to have reconsider a denial due to UHC error they come back saying I have to send a reconsideration. Back before 2006, UHC provider representatives would know what they had to do. UHC denies expecting for providers to be overwhelmed and not question their denials and unfortunately due to lack of staff or experience UHC wins.

United Health Care is more concerned about their bottom line than it's customers. Example: I have insomnia. Two days ago my PCP sent a perscription to Walgreens for a generic verison of Ambien. An already reduced cost generic version. I received a notice from Walgreens there was some sort of problem with the insurance approval. That was in the afternoon. The next morning I went to Walgreens. They said UHC has not approved the perscription. I called UHC right there at the pharmacy. Had to do a similar thing a couple months for another perscription problem. The woman from UHC said I needed prior authorization for this perscription. Really, a simple sleep aide? Walgreens needed to send a fax to my PCP and the PCP needed to request it. Crap. Ok, Walgreens said they sent the fax yesterday and they did it again while I was there. At 4:21PM yesterday, I received a call from a guy named Rom about my perscription. He said the prior authorization was denied. I ask why. He said I had to call UHC at the number on the back of my card. I ask, aren't you with UHC. No, we partner with them to take care of these calls (to give out the bad news and force the customer to take yet another step to try to get information and try to resolve the problem). I ask more questions and he knew nothing and was useless. I ask what company he worked for. He would not answer. I repeatedly pressed him for the company name. I heard laughing in the background. Oh, they thought this was funny. Of course I had not been sleeping much and did not find it funny at all. He finally said he did not have to tell me. Fine, he was useless anyway. I hung up and called the UHC number on the back of the card. Got a very nice lady, Jolene. on the phone and despite me being quite upset, she remained very nice... I give credit where credit is due. But that's the only nice thing I have to say. I ask a number of questions. The gist of it was there were two other sleep aids that I had not demonstrated I was Intollerent and they were cheaper. Really, to save a few bucks UCH would not approve a generic brand of Ambien and sent me back to the drawing board. Ok. I ask for something in writing on this. Rom from the previous call said I'd they sent an email...nope. Jolene said yes, I'd receive something in the mail. Email I ask to clarify. Nope, snail mail. When I ask? In the next 30 days. Really, I'm not sleeping. I can't get the perscription I've had before and I know works and I can't get the rejection information to file an appeal until sometime in the next 30 days. They have no problem emailing advertisements frequently, buy a rejection, snail mail in a month. I received a robot call when typing this and it told me again of the rejection and said I'd get the mail in 3 business days. Ok, different info from the 3 sources. In the mean time, no relief for the patient. UHC cares more about the bottom line that their customers. I'll be changing to a new insurance company next enrollment period. Oh, one more thing. At the start of the call with Jolene, the robo system ask if I'd be willing to leave a review. You bet. It said to hold on the line when my call was finished. I did for 5 minutes...no review came on the line. Guess they knew it was going to be bad.

Dental and prescription cover is good. Vision and Medical Need improvement. I bought the highest level I could in my company. All specialist are 80 dollars. UHC really tries to force the patient to use virtual appointment or Urgent Care. Their Optum Virtual care told me to wait an additional three day (7) if I still have a fever to then go to urgent care. They consider biopsy, a surgery and are taking from your high deductible (2-5k). When I complained, appeal was denied and the comments on the price said to use virtual care or urgent care. Really? Their customer services is nice yet all this is out of their hands. One of the worst insurances I’ve had.

My husband's company used United Health Care as their insurance for many years and we were overall very happy with them. My favorite service was a program they developed called, REal Appeal. I had United health care through my former employer and it was great. I had coverage when I delivered my first child and everything went smoothly with all of the hospital charges. There were no surprises and it was easy to add her to the policy. This was probably the best health insurance I had with the least amount of hassles and I wouldn’t hesitate to go back if I had another opportunity.

I have UnitedHeathcare and have had it for about 6 years. We have had some major medical events and UH has been very helpful and understanding when it comes to the occasional dubious claim. We almost always hit our out of pocket max and then things get a little easier, pay wise. The claims are easy to understand and if I dont understand, I can call UH and talk to a person. I take a star off because I have called and talked to someone to help me understand why a claim was denied and they gave me wrong information, repeatedly. I called back and talked to someone else and they gave me the right information. When I called back again at a later date, I talked to the first person and again they gave me the wrong information about the same claim. I fought this claim for about 3 months and was ultimately paid back every cent, but I could have done without the runaround.

I like United Health Care because it fits us better than any other health insurance. They are cheaper than the other health insurance but that doesn't mean they are bad. They have actually been very good to my family. The rates for prescription and health insurance is better than what I was paying for with other companies. They have co-pays that are very compatible to other companies.

We have had United Healthcare insurance through our employer for many years. We had a PPO plan for many years and have had a high deductible plan in recent years. One of the biggest advantages of United Healthcare has been its large network of providers that accept it as insurance. The myUHC.com website makes it fairly straightforward to see one's insurance claims and to look up in-network providers.

I have UnitedHealthcare and it has worked great for me and my family. There is a high deductable, but this supplemented through work and my HSA. They do all of the needed checkups and preventative care that I need. When I do need care, there is an extensive list of doctors available and they are easy to work with if I need to go to a specialist. The claims are easy to process, and I can track things online, even the results of my exams and visits.

United Healthcare has been a great insurance. I've always had great experiences with their phone representatives whenever I call with a question. I've never had trouble finding a doctor that I want to see on their list of providers. We didn't necessarily choose them for our health plan because it came from my husband's work, but I don't have any complaints!

My husband is a computer programmer for a large company and United Healthcare is our provider. We have found them very reasonable. We have six children and have had a variety of medical issues. We have found that they have paid all the claims promptly. They have always been great when we have called in with questions. Our Doctors have always accepted this insurance.

I am a dentist and the customer support for UnitedHealcare is terrible. They play games with our patients and mess up and draw out the processs so patients cannot get the care they need in a timely manor. I would not recommend them to any patient

Their off shore outsourced call center leaves much to be desired. The advocates speak broken English and seem to be reading cue cards. They can't answer basic questions, will put you on forever hold, your call will be dropped, you will be transfered to a "tech" person who knows less than the person who initially talked to you.If you have to call these foreigners..demand to be transferred to a USA associate!

I have united healthcare through the state I live in. The coverage is good IF you can find a provider that takes it. They also will let doctors bill you when they aren't supposed to.

Pay a premium price for sub-standard care! UHC is putting small hospitals out of business by demanding lower prices than the hospital’s costs to operate. UHC refused to negotiate in good faith with the hospital system in North Georgia, which forces its patients to drive an hour away to receive care at a sub-standard hospital. This is not what we paid a great deal of money for! Since UHC is the “biggest bully” on the block, they feel they can demand whatever terms they want and have hospitals (including non-profit hospitals that offer indigent care) accept their terms, or they walk. This includes being able to change their pricing demands at any time during the contract. They also lost ALL of my claims from last year, and it took me hundreds of hours to try to get them back. I am sure many are still missing. Very, very poorly run company that doesn’t care about their customers, or other hospitals. We have been with UHC for over 20 years, and within the last 3 years, their customer service has fallen to the bottom of the pile. There is no customer service! Save your money and go with a reputable healthcare company. Hopefully this one won’t be in business for long.

You get stuck with primary care , if you try to change that would be another sad story . All together is a disaster

I have been dealing with agents, specialists and corporate office staff since January 2023-today is March 20 still no answers!. A electronic check (still not sure if it was a physical/electronic check?) was sent on me and my wife's behalf--the receiver has state non-receipt of the check or electronic check (s). All is needed is proof of the electronic transaction code or a copy of the check deposited into the receivers account---Unite Healthcare finds this extremely difficult. Again same response--we are working on it--I am at the point of taking the small amount as a a lost as corporate cannot resolve the issue there is no other place to go. Very frustrating! dealing with (UHC).

The Insurance Company has good benefits, but their Customer Service is awful. I've only been with them since october 2022 but have had to contact Customer Service 3 times. No-one at Customer Service has been able to answer my questions re my health insurance coverage. I am again going to have to contact my agent.

I have been with UHC for about 18 years. We have great coverage! Their website is easy to navigate, and claims are easy to submit. They offer a generous mental health program which is incredible.

I have UnitedHealthcare's select managed care plan through my employer and I've honestly found it below . Their coverage is great - almost no out of pocket cost - but the providers they do have in network are subpar. They also do not have an updated list of providers in their network which makes finding one very difficult. When I called to see if they had a more updated list, the customer service rep said they would email me a list of providers for my area and never did. It's interactions with companies like these that drive me a little crazy.

This is one of the worst Health Care Plans I have ever been in and wish I could get out. The price is high and the coverage is terrible. I get a supplemental bill for everything after the fact. Trying to get a hold of someone on the phone is IMPOSSIBLE and take usually an hour of being on hold and they usually only cover about 60% of the bill and send you an invoice after the fact. Don't even think about getting any outpatient surgery - it will cost you twice as much out of pocket as what you are quoted. They have dropped testing labs without telling customers and you then get a bill for the entire amount. Valley Schools from United Health Care is just about the worst

I wanted to send a question to UHC however it does not work this way at UHC. I posted my question ‘Does UHC cover a Cologuard test?’ at Facebook UHC, the response was that they will discuss the question with me on phone. After I replied ‘What’s the problem to answer my question online?’ no response. Is it a top secret issue closed to UHC members?

I am new to untied health care and have already needed to use their services a few times. They have been pretty standard in terms of getting a hold of for questions so no issues there. Accepted plenty of places and lots of plan options, they have been a nice plan through work.

We had great medical coverage when I worked for an employer that carried UnitedHealthcare. We appreciated the friendly customer service agents who were able to answer questions regarding what was covered and what wasn't and how to get reimbursed for treatment provided by an out of network provider. I wish we still had UnitedHealthcare!
