Absolute worst insurance company you could have. My mother has Breast Cancer and they are denying her treatment for it. Her physicians from Hillman Cancer Center have fought day in and day out for it, but the doctor at United refuses to approve it. Terrible insurance company who shouldn’t even call themselves insurance. Clearly they do not care about their patients.

new to the company with open enrollment this year, started 7/1. Lots of stories already about Rx prices going sky high and people not getting their regular MD. Not looking forward to it.

They are OK. I have had limited interaction with them. They email us when a new claim is submitted. I found their EOB's to be very slow. and they were of no help when I was misdiagnosed by a walk in clinic .

With minor stuff they're fine. However, I had back surgery last year and they were a nightmare. They could not figure out when I satisfied my deductible and co- pay. I am still getting dunning letters from doctors and hospital.

Don't like them at all. Lousey ins coverage and told one of the vendors after I had bought my ileostomy supplies for 3 months they would not pay because they were not an "approved vendor". I owe the pharmacy close to $600 that I have to pay myself.

Over the past few years this company has been "ok", but in the past 12 months has gone DOWN HILL FAST. They have stopped covering life-saving medication, and when I needed urgent care and submitted a claim for an out-of-network provider, they simply denied my claim. Now I have to go through a VERY complex appeal process, which I understand will take months. Their reps are trained not to pay claims, this is an old-school insurance practice that simply pisses people off. I cannot recommend anyone use UHC for their healthcare needs.

My family's experience with United Healthcare and their pharmaceutical company OptumRx has been horrible. The details on the issues we have are much like the hundreds of other disappointed UHC members. I am shocked that my husbands employer choose to do business with them. Their practices are unethical. I highly suspect discrimination against the disabled and elderly .

I bought a short-term policy on the internet. They took my money and sent me a form letter saying go to website for card. The website requires an ID number which they failed to provide. Was on hold 1 1/2 hours today never spoke to customer service. I have had bad service before but this almost takes the cake. ALL of their interface options require member ID. There is no email to use. I am stuck thinking I have a policy but no proof thereof. Absolutely abysmal

The company flat out sucks you get prescription from your doctor takes over a week to fill it because of thwe paperwork required by the UHC. When you get a bill from the hospital, first they try to deny paying it, then they pay a part of it, and what ever balance you pay is not applied toward your entire deductible, so they can delay covering the rest of the services provided. I have had BC/BS, Aetna, Signa before. UHS is by far the worst company you can buy health insurance from.

Useless company that will not pay after they referred me to the clinic. I called for two months now. Today I demanded to talk to someone in America and when I told her the issue she blamed my doctor. I told her that not only did they refer me to this urgent care clinic, the clinic said I was cover AND they are on United's website as a "in site" provider. Crooks! If I want to fight it I need to write a letter and send it to Salt Lake, UT. I wonder how much "bestcompany" was paid to rate them a 7.5. Look at Google and good luck finding any satisfied customers.

Formerly MDIPA, UH has zero copay for pediatric visits. Unfortunately, the list of tiered drugs has increased the copay amount, and some common drugs are no longer under coverage Choosing your primary care physician is a plus as is common with other health plans.

I have been a client of United Healthcare for about (5) years now. Their app is extremely easy to use - as well as having a multitude of healthcare providers to choose from. However, I am not thrilled with the fact that they are dropping many healthcare providers because UH is refusing to negotiate their rates. I am in danger of losing not only my primary caregiver, but also my gynecologist, because of their refusal to compensate their providers fairly. Come on UH. If you drop my providers, I will be dropping you also.

Good care if you could find a doctor that was on the list to go to.. sometimes they denied charge which I thought were covered. Some of their reasoning didn’t make sense to me. They would wear you down until you just ended up paying the bill to get it to stop.

I like that I have a case manage from the insurance for my son with an ASD. I am annoyed that they dropped their contracts with all the local outpatient OTs, PTs and SLPs. The increased travel is very hard. Also it takes a while for my son to cooperate with the therapist so by having to switch we lost several sessions worth of value.

My company recently changed to UMR through United Health. We are paying a lot in premiums just to have a high deductible insurance policy, then it feels like United Health does all it can to get out of paying for products/services. The processes to get coverage are difficult, complicated and frustrating. It is hard to trust any health insurance company these days.

I really wanted to like United Healthcare, however, when I had a medical concern and needed to be on a name brand medication they were completely unwilling to work with me. My doctor contacted them and I had written forms all stating that I had to be on a name brand medication for medical reason and that when I have tried 5+ generics in the past, I have had complications. They did not care at all and told me I would still have to pay the ridiculously high payment if I wanted to be on that medication. It was a truly awful experience.

We have Golden Rule with United Health Care. I've had the same plan since 2005, and it used to provide a negotiated discount on doctor's visit fees, etc. As of this year, the very same policy is now only good for hospitalizations and cancer. ER visit? No, not unless it results in a hospitalization. Outpatient surgery? Nope. Physical therapy? Nope and nope. My family has a $5800ish deductible and even though we have had a ton of health care expenses this year, which is unusual, none of those fees have been discounted, and none of them count toward my deductible because they are not for hospitalizations or cancer. Needless to say, we've been waiting anxiously for the open enrollment period and will be looking elsewhere. We are not fans.
