I had Optima up to a couple of days they stop helping because I wouldn’t give them my current girlfriends pay stubs remind you only time they can ask for that optima or IRS is if your married to the person so they cancel the help which wasn’t much . Communication with anyone is horrible as well as the the portal. Waste of time and money wouldn’t recommend it.

Well where do I start, Well I we started with optimum tax relief and and it's been a couple months , I had to call them threatened to cancel my subscription with them is my subscription with them my account with them account with them plus I've had to pay almost $3500 just to keep things going and after I threatened to do something then they decided they were going to move faster on my account

We were told we had over a $20K debt. We are divorced so paid $1000 to be represented separately. Then were told we needed to pay around $5K each to be represented separately for the same joint debt. We declined. We just received a bill from the IRS - we owe $138.55. What a scam. We want our $1000 back. We didn't have that to spend in the first place.

After finishing with optimal and looked at the big picture they really did nothing for me but to arrange a payment plan which I realized I can do myself they charged me over $3000 and what I/O the IRS stayed the same nothing was settled for less and when I asked them to help me defer a payment during this coronavirus time they told me tough luck by my case manager, Even though I was still on a monthly subscription with them and I called IRS myself and got it done in two minutes. After everything in my opinion I wasted my money

I would put a negative 10. Look for someone who provides customer services and will do what they say! They are worse than dealing with the IRS because I paid Optima $7000 to "resolve my tax issues!" Customer service is nonexistent. They have waited over a year and waited till more taxes have fallen outside the statute of limitations. IRS will not pursue you for taxes owed over 10 years. If you want to keep your sanity, find someone else to use!!! Please!!!

Optima tax was not not good at all tried to make me sign in to an agreement on my payment which was definitely not accurate to what I was trying to establish not did they doubly my taxes for 2018 they stated I had owe IRS $8000 for 1 year when only I made $32,500,that only make me owe IRS $2450 (round about) these people are stupid or plain ignorant cause neither that why I discontinue their services,what a fluke.

I would give it a negative number if allowed. I am sure they really help people. But your local tax preparer can probably help you as well as the huge company that changes people every month and trust me, for a considerable amount. Check locally first. Reasonable pay and face to face service with someone who wants to help you and can. Optima tax will take your money even if they know someone else could probably help you. And the money you save going to local company , you can use to pay your taxes.

My husband called them and ended up paying the $495 fee to start, but we still can't figure out what they really did. They just told us stuff we already knew. Then they told us we would have to pay them another $8,000 to move forward with the process! DO NOT use them! We ended up going to a CPA to try and get things resolved.
Update we have came to a resolution. They are working with us to resolve our issues.

This company was useless! We had not one, not two, but THREE different case managers! They never returned our phone calls. Plus, they were supposed to protect us from getting a lean on our name but it still happened!! 9 months after we hired them! They still haven’t called us back to see if we could get our money back. This stuff is serious! Get a lawyer who knows the law in your state! It will be cheaper and they will always answer your calls!

I am working with a refund specialist by the name of Brenda V who is a extremely rude and unprofessional individual. I asked for approximately $4,490.00 reimbursement to me for a job not done by Optima Tax Relief, LLC. They had me paying a payment installment for 7 months (paid-in-full), no offer-in-compromise, and the IRS is still keeping income tax checks, and OTR is holding all my money. I WANT MY MONEY RETURNED. They are prying on senior citizens on a fixed income in the State of Florida.

Do not use them. If I could give zero stars I would. They are horrible at communicating and after we completed the process and hired a tax attorney on our own. He informed us that Optima had added on $7000 in extra charges in addition to the initial $3500. We tried to get them to send us a detail account of what we owed because it did not add up but of course they never would. Now we know why. Save your money and hire a tax attorney. The attorney also got some of our taxes dismissed but not Optima! You will be left worse than you started.

After paying the original $500 for optima to review our case they came back saying we owe the IRS almost $100,000. We had a letter directly from the IRS saying we owed just over $80,000. Good news if we payed an extra $10,000 to Optima they would set up payment arrangements for us. When I called to ask questions or get help they became angry and rude very quickly. So I asked for a refund as they has some how raised our debt. Still no call back. I started with debt. Called back for help and now have no time to save my house and out $500 on top of that.

They took almost 6500 dollars, did not get one thin dime of my tax debt relieved, offered my a small portion of that bill in refund, AFTER I filed a BBB claim against them. Horrible company! I then called the IRS myself, and discovered that Optima had not even given the IRS my correct address. The receptionist was very polite, but after, and when they have your money the polite is over. DO NOT use this company. Just that fact that they advertise here eluding to a refund is ridiculous.

I paid $2000 to start and was told they needed over another $1,000 to be in resolution phase. I submitted everything they asked for and never got a resolution. I kept submitting information with no answer or resolution. Know I'm being told I was dropped because i didn't keep submitting the same information they keep asking for. This is ridiculous and I waisted over$3,000 with no help. Now I'm about to get garnished and end up homeless. Thanks Optimum Tax.

The $499 initial fee was the hook, but it went south after that. Took them 2 weeks just to tell the IRS that they represented me. Then they told me that it would be an additional $14k. When I asked if they had negotiated any tax reduction, figuring if a reduction exceeded the bill it would be worth it. They told me that they didn't even start negotiating. They offered to finance the bill over 12 months, but the payments would be over $1,200 a month, not counting the payments to the IRS. When I told them the payments were not possible, they dropped me.

THIS COMPANY IS A RIP-OFF! My husband and I paid $500.00 for their investigation- which they claimed was mandatory before they began. The "investigation" basically told us what we knew already. We owed a DEBT. Optima then gave us a big bill , around 3k to pay them on top of the $500.00 we had already paid. No guarantees. We opted to not go with them and go with a CPA which was CHEAPER ONLY 1500! OPTIMA refused to refund any of the $500.00 we paid! DO NOT GO TO THIS COMPANY!!!! TRY YOUR LOCAL CPA!!!!!!

This company HAS to be paying for positive reviews. They have been helpful in only one way: parting me with money I could have used to find a better alternative. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. Trust me, I could have saved thousands of dollars and months of anguish if I had just done some more research. This company has many bad reviews if you drill down deep enough to get past the positive ones they have bought.

Horrible experience. Complete disconnect between what was promised us by their sales representative and the actual representatives. We kept sending them endless paperwork while our fees and interest increased. Ended up paying more than when we started one year after. As far as I am concerned, they are a complete scam. They are fee before service so they don’t care to offer any services since you have paid them already. Horrible mistake to have been involved with them. A word to the wise is enough. Avoid being a victim to their scam and go somewhere else.

this is very simple scam for them they tell you it going to cost 3 or 4000 after that done they keep asking for more money the customer can not say no cause afraid of loose the already money paid so keep sending money they keep charging more money I did canceled the job never done after I realize this was scam so I ask for my money back but my money still in their pocket that their job to keep money from customers DONT TRUST THIS PEOPLE I LOST ALMOST $7000 nothing but scamers

Optima is a scam. They do nothing that you cannot do for yourself. If you qualify, go and get the forms and fill them out. If you need help filling out the forms, walk in to a local accounting office and ask for it. You will spend thousands less and get the same result. I lost 6,500 to these guys and it was my fault. They tell you one thing on the phone and then have you sign a document that claims there is no guarantee. Total Scam! Check the positive reviews, something seems off.

This company took over my case which was 3/4 of the way through a offer and compromise inwhich my existing tax person died. They took my money and dropped it. I was refuse after is had been in process for apprx. 2 yesrs and now tell me the IRS is going to shut down my busines, etc. They now want $5000 more to stip the IRS from shutting me down and put me on payments. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE
