After having a SunPower technician visit to correct what he called Comcast's problem, I called Comcast. Their technician told me it was SunPower's problem. The first tech wrote that the latter tech should check my "Wi-Fi for connectivity problems and to disable any firewalls that may be preventing connection of solar panels." Each blames the other.

I loved the sales team (Alex) from the Orlando Home Improvement show. On site the day of install and solved an issue when the installers put screw in out newly installed metal roof. Now several months into the install and operation they change their billing, out sourced, to another company. Now it is our problem to change and setup our automatic payments to another company. And guess what, to start out we are late in making payments. No the automatic payment out of our credit union cleared on 7/10/2024 the payment due date. Sunpower has no idea where it is. Awesome transition SUNPOWER!!!! YOU ARE RIGHT THERE WITH THE BULLSHIT SOLAR COMPANY WE HAD IN CALIFORNIA, Green day. AT THIS POINT DID NOT THINK ANYONE COULD MATCH THEIR INEPT ABILITIES.

I have had Sun Power panels for a year now. Every month I am sending a lot of generated power back to the grid. Too bad the per KWH they pay me for the power I send back to the grid is not what they charge me to use their power . But that’s a complaint against the power company and not SunnPower. No issues with Sun Power at all. No callbacks, nothing . With the cost of using power from the supplier company going up every year I feel using solar panels was a good decision.

Likes: Sales rep answered all of my questions. Installers were professional, polite and cleaned the area around the house. No HARD selling techniques. Sales Rep professional and polite. Improvements: At least a 2 day advance notice on installation. Electrician came to the house unannounced and I received phone calls from my neighbors about a truck parked in front of my house. Not quite sure what I was supposed to do after installation. I was told I would receive an email from SunPower and I did not receive it until I called. I had to install 3 of the 5 smoke alarms. There was not enough hardware to properly install the alarms.

They made the paperwork much easier to deal with than going it alone. I really enjoyed that I was always able to talk to a real person at any point during the process. I also really appreciated that I was updated on certain aspects of the project. The electric output has been fairly accurate. It's producing slightly less than was calculated but given that weather has been somewhat unpredictable, I think this is understandable. The panels have still been covering over 96% of my electricity usage so I am happy about that.

Before we finally have SunPower, we contacted two solar companies at different years. The loan figure amounts quoted by either company has been more than the amount we are paying for our electricity every month. But when we read the final papers and contract we cancelled. SunPower installed 14 panels that generates the number of kwh we need to get every year's electricity consumption. It's not only easy on our roof, but we also see it actually works and saves us money!

I love how the solar panels and Tesla battery work in tandem. My house faces south so it's optimal for solar panels. The product it excellent. I signed the contract on March 2021. I understood that because of COVID, there would be slow. I didn't get my panels installed until September 2021 and battery installed until March 2022. Then I couldn't get anyone to tell me about the details about my financing. Someone dropped the ball somewhere on my account, it took so long that they had to recheck my credit and I had to reapply for the loan. I called over 10 times within the year to ask the status of my account and who do I have to pay or when do I get my financing details. Not sure if there was a communication error between sales and other departments but it took a while. Now since then, everything is running smoothly, not have had to call for any issues. No news is good news I suppose.

The solar power system that Sunpower installed has worked flawlessly since it's installation. I was not happy with the issues that were encountered during installation, such as the delays during the Christmas holidays. The installers should have taken into account that it would be difficult to schedule workers during that time. But, since then, I have not had any issues with the system and would recommend them to everyone.

I have been recommended about sun power by one of my friend and I got them installed couple of years back. I have no complaints about it and have been recommending this to my friends ever since. I love the way team had installed the panel with no mess of pipes running around and I have been generating enough power for my usage. We measured to generate 103% of my capacity and the panels have been true to their generation capacity.

This is the third time you have asked for me review, once again I will provide you with my honest opinion and feedback. We looked at a number of solar providers and SunPower was the best option for our home. We installed the beginning of December 2022 and the panels overproduced what we used for the month exceeding our expectations. Our son and 3 of his friends have also moved forward with SunPower and have either installed or are waiting to get installed. I highly recommend SAVKAT ( local dealer) and SunPower. The panels are made here in the USA which I like.

They ( Sun Power and Precis Solar ) are always helpful and call back quickly if someone isn't available at the moment. I've needed to call then a number of times s the supplied documentation that came with the system ( panels and a battery ) seemed to describe an earlier version of the monitoring software and didn't give much in terms of how to diagnose / change various functionality. In particular, there are status lights on the battery that turn various colors but, to date, I haven't found documentation on what those LEDs indicate. The system does work fine and it does well at switching over to grid power ( and back ) when there is an event that causes SDGE to go down and/or when the battery reaches a 20% level.

I've enjoyed the SunPower 9kW solar system installed on my roof. It has worked great. I didn't pay for any electricity except August thru November of this year. I paid not because they solar system didn't produce enough power, it was because I had a very problematic HVAC issue which took a few months to fix. As soon as it was operating normally again, I didn't pay for electricity in December nor January 2023. Really enjoy the cost savings the system provides.

I compared SunPower proposal to three other companies and SunPower was the clear winner. Greg, my sales person was excellent. Once the contract was signed the experience was even better. SunPower installers were top notch and on time. They did miss the fact I needed a new sub panel which set my start up date back but Sun Power electricians made the upgrade at no cost to me. Once turned on the performance of my panels were abut 5% better than Greg had estimated in his proposal. The SunPower apps very useful. Together with the APS website I have full visibility on all production and usage.

The whole process was seamless. I contacted 3 solar companies and finally settled with Sunpower. DeAnn Y of Sunpower by The Solar Quote made a flawless presentation. She was very knowledgeable and very detailed. She designed a system with using the A series 415 watts panel. The installation was clean and completed in one day. The system is working very well. I am happy with the whole process. I will definitely recommend Sunpower. With an agent like DeAnn, you are in safe hands.

I was having trouble accessing my monitoring system. I called SunPower and Sandra answered the call. She was very polite, understanding,professional and knowledgeable. She walked me through the steps to recover my account access.She was very patient with me, as I'm not very knowledgeable of computers. This experience wasn't stressful, it was very pleasant thanks to her. I would hope that if anyone has question or problem that they would be assisted by her.

My new SunPower system has been up and running for a week... My installation and certification went well and I'm pleased with the professionalism of my installer. I can watch my power meter running backward and am extremely pleased with the performance that I am seeing. As the year progresses, the sun's path should be more directly overhead and it appears that the panels will be producing very near what they are spec'd for. On the other hand, I'm surprised by the intermittent behavior of their monitoring application and web site. I'd be interested in hearing from other SunPower owners about your experiences with their monitoring tools. Because my SunPower monitoring system is directly connected to Internet through a high-speed / reliable connection, I expected a much more responsive (real-time) view of the systems output. On a positive note, at the end of the day, all information about the system's performance appears to be present; I can see a graph of exactly what was produced throughout the day...so I'm not missing any information. The responsiveness of the system appears to vary over the course of the day; sometimes the data is presented quickly, other times it can take minutes for the user interface to refresh. What I also see is that the reported data is delayed up to an hour. Is this what others are seeing? Is this the expected behavior? Again, please let me know if others are seeing what I'm seeing or it's just my installation. Thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- A digression: As an Embedded Software (IoT) engineer who designs monitoring systems like this for a living...I have seen this type of "intermittent failure under load" behavior before; which includes the unexpected loss and/or corruption of data. If anyone from SunPower is listening... I offer my consulting services to you for free... I know what could likely be causing this and can probably find and fix it for you in a few days. Again, since I own a SunPower system, I want to help. The responsiveness of the monitoring tools should be able to be greatly improved over how they currently work.

Bill, Salesman, was very professional and is very knowledgeable of the product. He wasn't pushy for us to buy at the moment and wanted us to do our research before making our final decision. After, further review of 3 competitors of there's within the same ratings, we decided to go with their competitor. Not for better quality, nor the price as they were in the same price range (give or take $1000), we went with the one that offered an additional incentive aside from the tax credit. Not taking anything away but they were our second choice.

The quality of the system has been great so far, and I look forward to having the system produce as much energy as SunPower promised all the way through. To anyone who may be looking at getting home solar, I can’t recommend SunPower enough!

There were a lot of companies to choose from when it comes to solar, but SunPower is one of the best. Their prices are good, they have one of the best equipment, and they don’t try to sell you things that you don’t need. Their service is good, from sales to installation. They also have a 25-year warranty on their panels. If you need anything, such as additional panels, they will work with you. I recommend them.

Couldn't be happier with my selection of SunPower. They were responsive and professional from the beginning of the process (sales discussion) to turning on the switch of solar power. The day they came to install, I was so impressed with how quickly and nicely the install went. They were careful with aesthetics. I really appreciated that. Super happy with my beautiful new panels.

Buying solar can be very stressful. Very expensive and long term and reviews can be all over the place. Our neighbor recommended Sunpower and the people I met with seemed great so I went with them. We've been very happy. All work went up as promised and on time and cleaned up. Panels work as advertised. Monitoring system works as advertised. All good! No stress!

Hello....back in May and April I wrote negative comments about Sunpower. We had our system installed last Feb of 2019. We were on our 15th week of waiting for our interconnection. We had some other issues as well. This was very frustrating. I did try reaching out to costumer service through email but was unsuccessful. I did receive a call and email from a Sunpower representative after my last 2 posts on this site. She was very helpful and solved the issues we were experiencing. As of June 6, we were finally connected and our system is up and running. We dont regret getting Sunpower. It was the long process that it took. We love our solar system. Thank you Erica from Sunpower for all your help.
