great customer service. Their team was very nice and respectful on the property. They would ask me if their installation idea was good for me and they kept all installs clean and professional.

SunPower provides horrible customer service if you need warranty work performed on your system. I've been waiting over a year to have one of my inverters replaced and they just ignore me. An awful, awfule company!

I had the unexpected pleasure of meeting a SunPower representative at my doorstep, which initially left me skeptical given my unfortunate experiences with other solar companies in the past. I had developed a natural inclination to shoo away such salespeople, fearing a repeat of pushy tactics and disappointment. However, this encounter turned out to be refreshingly different. The SunPower representative I spoke with was remarkably composed and professional, immediately setting a positive tone for our interaction. After some hesitation, I decided to give them a chance, with one clear condition: I did not want a pushy salesperson invading my home. To my delight, my apprehensions soon gave way to genuine appreciation.During our appointment, I was absolutely stunned by the level of professionalism exhibited by our solar consultant. It was a stark contrast to my previous disastrous consultations with other solar companies. He patiently provided us with a comprehensive breakdown of the entire process, far exceeding what we thought we already knew. It was evident that he possessed a deep knowledge of the subject matter, answering all our questions and addressing every concern with a genuine expertise that I had not encountered before. Most importantly, he never resorted to high-pressure sales tactics. Instead, he took the time to educate us and guide us through the decision-making process. What truly stood out was the seamless communication between us and our project coordinators throughout the entire process. The entire SunPower team was incredibly responsive, leaving us with a sense of reassurance that our project was in capable hands. It's worth noting that our project took longer than initially expected, and SunPower's quote was the most expensive among those we received. However, the outcome more than justified the investment. We couldn't be happier with our decision to go with SunPower. It has been two months since our solar system was installed, and we have encountered no issues whatsoever. The system is performing exactly as promised, delivering the expected results with precision. I wholeheartedly recommend SunPower for anyone considering solar solutions. They've managed to restore my faith in the industry, and their professionalism, knowledge, and commitment to customer satisfaction are truly commendable. While their quote may be higher than some competitors, the value they deliver and the peace of mind they provide are absolutely worth it. Thank you, SunPower, for exceeding our expectations and providing us with a solar solution that has proven to be a smart and reliable investment.

We went live on our 10.8 KW SunPower Maxeon 435 system on 2/6/23. Since that time we have accumulated -$728 In credits from Eversource, our local CT electric company. This is in stark contrast to our previous average monthly bill of $240…which can reach well over $400 during summer months due to air conditioning and various inground pool utilities. Our SunPower dealer/installer, SAVKAT out of Bristol, CT, have been there for us…not only during installation & startup but along the way fielding our questions. Given the added real estate value, monthly credit accumulation, tax credits & the recent 40% increase in Eversource rates, our break even point has been calculated at <5 years .

425watt panels x20 for a 8.5kw system All paperwork was done online including the financing. All went through perfectly and was explained beforehand. Did not beat winter however so install was delayed to late Feb 2023. Install crew were fantastic and were done installing the 20 panels on my roof under 6hrs. Electrician came out the next day. The electricians were great, answered my questions and even tolerated me changing my mind on where to install the equipment. System failed activation the 1st time by Ameren for a "Rate Limit Failure"...it produced too much power too quickly. Yeah, it is a new guideline that SunPower did not know of, they sent a tech out to provision the equipment with the proper limit within a couple of days. Then I had to wait on Ameren again. Passed the 2nd inspection by Ameren on March 10, 2023 and has been producing as it should. At this point, I have nothing bad to report on the system, or the company.

I no longer pay $600+ monthly thanks to SunPower. My monthly bill is now $50 or less. Since installation (20 months), my SunPower system has generated 36,258 kWh. I enhanced installation with 2 Tesla Powerwalls. My savings does not include charging my EV twice weekly ($140 saved). I almost forgot to mention that my neighbor asked how my house was being powered since the grid went down. He was confused because he also has pv but neglected to get backup batteries. PV without backup batteries will lower your electric bill. Once the grid goes down only backup batteries will keep your house powdered.

I decided to go solar back in November of 2022 based on recommendations from both of my next-door neighbors, both went with SunPower. I decided to go with a solar lease which required NO upfront costs to me. I was contacted by Lincoln P of EnergyPal, he was my go-to person and acted as a go between with SunPower. Kevin K, was my project coordinator with SunPower. When I started the solar installation process it was my understanding, from conversations with my neighbors and Mr. P, that it would take several months to complete. I had resigned myself to the fact that it was going to take a long time to get my solar power system up and running. This was not the case! I wanted to present a detailed timeline to show how quickly my solar installation went. It was, in a word, unbelievable! November 3rd I received my very first email from Mr. P. November 4th I received my solar proposal from SunPower and my application was approved the same day. November 8th the site survey was completed. November 12th the solar site design began. November 18th the permitting was initiated. I wanted to point out that before installation, during the site survey, a leak in my roof was identified by the Sunpower site survey employee. I knew about the leak. Whenever it rained one of my second-floor bedrooms sustained more water damage. Sunpower repaired the leak, at no cost to me, so that the installation could proceed as scheduled. Undoubtedly this saved me quite a bit of money, had I repaired it myself. December 2nd I received a call from SunPower to let me know the installation was scheduled for Monday, December 5th! So in one month, I went from my first contact with EnergyPal / Sunpower to the installation of my 34 solar panels. December 7th the installation was completed. December 8th my county inspection of the system was scheduled. Just so you don't think there were any problems, the inspection had to be canceled/rescheduled as the solar circuit box was incomplete. December 13th the final inspection was completed and signed off. I was told that Permission to Operate (PTO) would take several weeks to obtain from SCE (Edison). December 26th I received PTO from SCE. December 29th my solar system went online! Fifty-six days after my first contact with EnergyPal / SunPower. As a result, I will benefit from NEM 2.0! Without help from Mr. Lincoln P and Mr. Kevin K, I'm certain I'd still be waiting to realize my solar savings. I wanted to thank both, and highly recommend that should you decide to go solar, that you ask for Mr. Lincoln P of EnergyPal and Mr. Kevin K of SunPower to help you, you won't be sorry.

If you need solar, you need Mat T with SunPower! Mat is an incredibly caring and loving man who truly wants to help you save money and increase the value of your home, all while helping the environment. Mat will spend hours with you on Saturday at Starbucks (like he did with me) and literally go through every aspect of solar from the loan (if you choose to go that way) right down to how heat affects the way your solar panels will work. He’s a no pressure, no nonsense guy who works for you, the customer. So far, I cannot recommend Mat and SunPower enough. I am very pleased and satisfied. Keep up the great work, Mat!

I chose SunPower because of it high ratings and reports of its products. Of course, I had no direct contact with SunPower itself, but with the installer who offered the SunPower products. That company was Mirasol Fafco Solar. From Brian who explaned their program to me to the office staff who coordinated the installations scheduling and the men who did the actual install were carefull and detailed in their work, friendly, patient and knowledgeable. I recently had a follow up for a minor tweak I needed. Joe came out the next day and diagnosed and fixed the problem. He didn't stop there. He checked out the rest of the systems and patiently explained how the systems worked and what I needed to know about taking care of the various parts and making adjustments. I gave SunPower five stars not only for their great products, but for having the good sense to use professional installers like Mirasol.

I have looked into solar a few times over the past few years and no one was ever able to design a system that made financial sense for me and my house. We don’t use a lot of electricity but PG&E still sent warning letters about overuse and continued to raise my rates. Dan S and Smart Energy Brokers looked at 4 different companies and eventually I chose SUNPOWER for their quality product and all-inclusive 25-year warranty. Dan made the process simple, handling all of the paperwork and scheduling and SUNPOWER’s teams were magnificent, especially the guys who installed the system. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Bernie ,

Great care in assessing and positioning an optimal system for my historic energy consumption. I live in a large house that uses a lot of energy so my system is big and was built to 26 kV. It has designed to approximately cover most months except the hottest summer months providing about 83% of my yearly consumption. It has been in place now for going on 3 years and it has replaced 87% of my energy use. Great company, great professional install (very important this). During extreme cold days in Texas, when it was cold and clear, I was putting energy back into the grid. True it was a big outlay to get it in place. The tax credits and rebates at the time made it feasible. Now we look forward to low energy bills time forward. It is like we are living in a studio apartment and a few months, with no utility cost at all! Down the road, when we all move to electric cars I might consider expanding the system to include (some hopefully cheaper) battery backup, a few more panels, and go completely off the grid and drive for free!

We just moved into a home with solar panels. We took over the lease. I have no idea how to manage my consumption of energy. A very professional woman named Yellow provided me with a great client experience. Yellow was able to explain my electric bill, how the panels work and finally how to use the dashboard to make an educated decision on when I would run all my appliances. Yellow helped to make sure I could understand all of these things and talked with me till I was comfortable in my newly gained knowledge on SunPower solar panels. Yellow, thank you so much for your stellar approach and teaching skills. The education you gave me has put me at ease. You are amazing !!!

We went with SunPower because they had the highest rating for quality and performance and due to the limited area on our roof, their higher efficiency panels worked perfectly. We were a little nervous when the panels started producing 28% less energy than they should have produced, but after some time, SunPower stood behind their products and replaced 21 of the 25 defective microinverters and even though payment for lost power is not covered under the warranty, they came through and compensated us above and beyond what we were asking! Very impressive! So far they have proven that they do stand behind their products.

I bought my new home, it's a model home. I was told everything works... but when I moved in, it was not working... along with some other hassles. Long story short, found out our solar didn't work at all and something had malfunction. SunPower sent 3 people at 3 different time to try to fix it... I literally wanted to knock one star off of this because of that... because I felt kind that wasted some of my time. When they couldn't identify the root cause, they went their way out to give me a new system. The customer service rep followed up with me constantly at every month since then to tell me the status of where things were. It is good that I don't have to call them. For this, they got their one star back. Depending on how things go once my new system arrives, we'll determine my overall review. For now, 5 stars for the constant updates.

My sales rep was well informed, professional and thorough in his energy saving information. In my experience here in Florida, solar energy is the way to go in the future. However, to have solar without a backup battery kind of defeats the purpose of still being connected to the power company. We have hurricanes, loss of power, severe storms, loss of power, antiquated infrastructure, loss of power. My point is this; I need a system that doesn’t eliminate the infrastructure but supports it from an individual basis and backs me when I need it as well. To sell me a system that doesn’t include a backup battery in the quote is unfair to me the consumer. Also, my quote was over $50,000 by the time the backup was included and other incidentals.

Am up and running to produce solar energy for just a week so far, and my easy to follow online monitoring system tells me how much energy the panels are producing, kind of cool! My account rep at SunPower Jessica E, was very quick to respond to questions I had with regard to the installation. The entire installation team from the guy who first came out to inspect the roof all the way to final installation was very professional and quick in follow up! Jordan the Sales Agent also was very prompt in providing information and follow up including a providing a contact for roofing company that prepared to roof to be ready for solar installation (that was optional, we didn't really need to do that). So far my experience with SunPower is only good! and I would highly recommend their services. thank you

I would have like to give 4 1/2 stars, but there was no option. The half star would be because at times it is challenging to communicate with the team. I've started looking to get Solar installed to my in December 2018. After reaching out to several different Solar companies, and being declined by them (I live most of the year alone and my average electricity bill is about $75), because my business was not worth their effort, I found information about SunPower on the AAA membership vendor site, also promising a $1000 rebate, when installation is done. SunPower was the only one of two companies that were interested in my installation, saying it's not about how much money they make but how much money I can save and the environmental benefit. I really liked that approach and, after getting a lot of information and reading up some more, I've signed with SunPower (OK, I admit, the $1000 AAA rebate was also on my mind...). After signing the contract and the loan, the SunPower team took it from there and took care of any paperwork and approval needed for the installation and system. Panels seem to be hot commodity and setting the installation date took longer than I've expected, but it was just a matter of time. The installation team was AMAZING. On time, very professional and friendly, they informed me about everything they will do and is happening. The thing that impressed me the most was, they've asked me if I still have some of the color my house is painted in. My home is still rather new, so I do. The installation team didn't only do a very clean job, they've also painted all of the lines and connections, anything running around the house wall in exactly the colors of the wall. Even when the lines ran over an area where the color changed, they've painted exactly the fitting color. Thanks to that, it's hard to see anything on the outside of my house. Looking at my neighbours Solar installation, where the lines and connections are white, silver or black running all along the house, I am still thrilled that my home is so clean installed. Shortly after the installation I was visited by a wonderful customer service guy, who made sure my app is set up and works, explained to me how my PG&E bill will change, what won't change and how it works over the year. He is also my contact, should I have any issues with my panels. Now comes the part where 1 star was missing to my 5 star rating. Since I've contacted SunPower via AAA, I qualify for the rebate. Since I of course had no idea how that works, I've mentioned and asked about that every time, with every person I spoke. Nobody knew from the tip of their head, but everybody nodded, promised to look into this and get back to me asap - nobody ever did. At one point I've learned that the sales guy, whom I met in December, has left the company and a new, very nice sales guy reached out to me, checking up if everything is set up and working well. Again, I've asking him how the rebate works, what I need to do, what to submit to whom. He said he'll look into this and get back to me - never did. I've reached out to many (very nice!) internal and external employees, pretty much anybody I could get a hold of. But nobody could help me, nobody got back to me. This went on from March to July - MAN, was I annoyed! So, I've decided to go the other way around and reached out to AAA, asking them for help. After all, they are the one advertising the rebate. This time it worked!!! And here is where I got happily back to a 5 star rating. AAA helped me and quickly got me in contact with the right person (Alex B - whom I can't thank enough!) and after 4 month of running in circles, he was not only able to help me what it takes and what I need to do, everything has been approved within 1 1/2 weeks!!! :) I have also recommended SunPower to a friend of mine. She is now waiting for her installation and thanks to Alex, I'm also already in contact with the right person at SunPower to get the referral bonus. I recommend SunPower highly to anybody who asks me. Besides of the rebate issue in between, I've had a great experience with them. They are very responsive and it is very easy to communicate with them. And the clean way the panels have been installed and even more so, the lines and connections are nicely integrated to my house is just wonderful.

A superb product and the installation was equal to that -- efficient, patient when we had to travel for a couple of days, and the results are quite lovely -- AND productive. It was a small job (a large house, but small electricity use), but the results were really good, and we're regularly generating 135 to 180 percent of the power we consume. (Of course, this is summer; it'll be less in winter, and they were careful to hold the total production over the course of a year near 90% of our use.) The folks in Austin (Jess); the installers (Julani and his crew), the SunPower installation inspector (Connor), and the original sales person (Jensen) were each exemplary. Bravo!

Sun Power installed 16 ea X22 360 Watt panels on my home on August 29 2018. Over all I have been very happy with the production of the solar panels, the Sun Power sales person and the Sun Power Installation team. As time moves on I am interested in adding a storage (Battery) solution to my Panels. I have looked at multiple companies but most interested in Enphase as they are a local company and I am hopeful that since Enphase purchased Sun Powers microinverters on June 13 of 2018 my panels will be compatible with Enphase storage. A suggestion to Sun Power and Enphase would be to provide a detailed process on how install Battery storage on new and older Sun Power Solar systems at a reasonable price. I see storage as being the next best thing and hopefully these two companies will work together to provide a outstanding solution.

I could not be happier with my SunPower experience. More companies need to follow your lead on how to provide excellent Customer Satisfaction. From the start, everyone at SunPower was professional and knowledgeable about their product and the solar industry. All my questions were answered quickly and correctly (no BS’ing). My first interaction with SunPower was during the installation. There was a mix up with the scheduling date. SunPower admitted that the error was on their end. I had to take a vacation day from work for the installation, that it was not going to happen. SunPower acknowledging how valuable vacation time is, they re-scheduled the installation for that Saturday morning. The Installation Crew arrived on time. Each Team member introduced themselves to me. The Team Lead explained everything that was going to be done and answered all my questions. The Team went to work and it looked like a choregraphed dance. Everyone knew what had to be done and went about getting the work done professionally. We had guys on the roof marking out the panel layout, guys unloading the truck, guys laying out the solar panels and frame rails, electrical work (inside and out) being performed all at the same time. With an emphasis on safety. I was blown away when I found out later that this crew does not work together. This Installation Team was a collection of professionals from other install Teams pulled together to get my installation completed. Great job educating and training your crews to work efficient and safely. Our SunPower Rep – Alberto M kept us informed about what was being done, what needed to be done, and the overall project status. Excellent interaction. It was reassuring to know that there is still a company out there that prides themselves on Customer Satisfaction, professionalism, quality of workmanship, and doing the job right the first time. Thank you very much for this great experience.

We just got our solar from Sun Power. I believe the manager or owners name is Jesse. My agents names is Lawrence G. I must say that it was a pleasure working with them. At first I thought I was going to have a problem but they went out of their way to explain, fix and fast. I believe we sign the contract sometime towards the end of March and now are solar is installed and running today May 6,2019. We are very pleased with all the wonderful people in the office and guys that worked to put the solar together all the way to the last guy that programed it today. I also would like to say that the men, I believe his name is Robert saw me last week having problems breathing and was so concerned that he made sure I was ok before he left. He even called his office and Dennese from their office called to also make sure I was ok. Wow I will do business with them again!!! I highly recommend Sun Power (951-678-7733).

I am surprised at the negative comments on this site. I have a SunPower 8.775Kw 'signature black' system that was installed Oct 2010. So it's been operating now for about 8.5 years. Not 1 issue. No maintenance needed, it just works. And does it ever work! The system has generated 88Mwh - which is an average of 10Mwh per year. That means my system consistently produces 120% over the rated value. I live in NJ so snow can adversely affect production, but I have a perfect SW clear exposure. We chose SunPower because the panels are on the front of the house. They look great, and the array almost covers the entire roof looking like a sleek jet black sunroof. Many people compliment the look, most don't even realize we have solar until I point it out. The real proof is this: my system has already paid for itself in cost savings of the monthly electric, SREC revenue and just yesterday we sold our home and realized at least $20K more than our neighbors becasue we have solar. We had a parade of very interested buyers wanting this house because of the SunPower system. This home won th SunPower Intelegant Award for residential in 2011 - which really helped our marketing. I am 100% sold on solar as a lifestyle and will install another SunPower system on the new home we are building in NC now. Keep in mind most people like me - 100% satisfied - don't take the time to write reviews. It's typically peole with an axe to grind. I think the SunPower products are great. SunPower might not be perfect, but they have been perfect for me as a real life long time customer. No hesitation to invest again using the same company.

Well first off I would like to say the employees at sun power are the best everybody there is extremely helpful and knowledgeable the sales consultant that I worked with Rob G was just awesome I actually still stay in contact with him when I was in the market for Solar panels I got bids from several companies I decided to go with sun power because they seem to be the most sincere and honest and trustworthy people that really wanted to Find The right solution to my energy needs instead of just trying to sell me a product everybody else wanted to sell me a system with things I did not need or want but Rob G wanted to help me find a system that would benefit me over just trying to sell me something that I did not need i’ve had my system for just shy of a year this will be my first summer going into it with the Solar panels but I can already tell they are going to help lower my electrical cost and the price was a lot more reasonable than some of the other companies that I called to inquire about it because they did not try to sell me stuff I do not need or want but help me find a system that would suit my needs I wound up getting a 10 panel system that has room for expansion they kept me informed on every aspect of the job it was very little effort on my part they took care of everything all I had to do was approve the plans for the design which are very low impact solar panels instead of those clumpy ones that you see on a lot of Roofs The only thing I had to get used to was peak time from my electricity company but so far I love the job that they are doing and I’m Leavin a lot more comfortable without worrying about a huge Electric bill

The process from the initial sale all the way through to the solar panel's being energized was seamless. I was contacted and explained every step of the process from the beginning to the end. My PM was Rebecca S and she was great with the scheduling of the installation, town inspector and the final start-up. Quick to respond and answer my questions. Sebastian was courteous and thorough with the installation. It looks great and works great. Our positive experience began with the sales rep, Franz S. It continued with our project manager, Becky S. We were kept updated during the entire process and things went on schedule. Our panels are attractive (hardly even noticed) on our 1750 house. One of the greatest advantages to SunPower has been the quick response to any correspondence we have exchanged with all parties. They take responsibility for their system and are always available for help/questions/answers. Our experience has felt like a "partnership" with this company. They didn't install, say good luck and go on their way. They have been there when we needed them. Love the app that tracks the power, etc. Anxious to see results when warm weather is in full swing!

It was a simple streamlined process from the initial sales meeting, to the purchase, to the implementation/installation of the product on a rooftop. The installers were awesome people and clearly took great pride in the work they did. The lead for the installers touched base with me at many points to make sure I gave my opinion specific to were Conduit was placed or Where boxes might be put internal or external to the garage for electrical coverage. The whole job was incredibly well done and I would recommend this product and sales group and installation team to anybody. The p.m. Jessica who managed the work stayed in close contact with me the entire time and was available to answer any and all of my questions.

I experienced a difficulty in the early stages of roofing, it caused a leak and months of hardship. However, Eli and Jessica were involved greatly in making sure everything would be taken care of and were always and i mean ALWAYS available along the way. They were effective in resolving the issue and completing the work. Most of the time we never want to experience anything negative during an install on new work; yet in this circumstance I have become more confident of a true 5 star rating because I have seen and gone through this situation in more than one aspect and appreciate the final result and the true relationships along the way.

Thank you SunPower for an easy fulfillment of a dream. Working with you was so easy. If everyone does a little, it will be, cumulatively, be a lot. Since installing 6 solar panels on our roof, we have saved over 4 tons of CO2 for going into the air from fossil fuel-generated power. We don't have to buy more than about $5 of power from the grid each month, but it isn't about the money. It is about giving meaningful work to American workers. it is about moving the country (and the world) to renewable energy. O.K., O.K., I admit it is also about feeling totally self-righteous because we did something right for the earth.

Five stars in all respects! Paid for system outright. Excellent, consistent, responsive service from Positive Energy NM. No problems so far, and the system is delivering excellent performance. Installed 3 months ago by expert team. We have "flat" roof architecture (two stories high), so ballasted rack mounting was very easy and it is effective. Good stability and strength held up beautifully through several episodes of unobstructed, battering canyon winds. Will update this review after more time passes. Your experience is going to depend on your local vendors, among whom quality will vary, and which explains the negative reviews here. The SunPower product is awesome, but your local service might or might not not measure up to Positive Energy's. If you live in Albuquerque, then definitely go with SunPower by Positive Energy. - a retired aerospace engineer

I could not be happier and I own the system. Financing is okay and leasing is a complete loser. The company I used, Cool Blew in Peoria Az., did a great job. They are experienced at working with the power provider and the application process was smooth. Install is a very clean 20 panel 6.9 KWh system using 345 panels with no unsightly inverter. The conduit was painted and a quality bird block was installed. A whole house surge protector was included that also "cleans" up the electricity so our appliances run more efficiently with less electrical draw. From the day I signed the contract to beginning to generate my own power 3.5 months and that was during the major winter holidays. Most of that was waiting on the county inspector and APS to set the meter. I always generate excess electricity which I will use credits to be net zero in the summer. My first full month with solar my bill was negative $62.05. The monitoring system is a bit buggy and sometimes runs a few hours to a day behind. With a 25 year parts and labor warranty what is not to like. I knew all about Sunpower and the rest of the solar companies before I had the salesman come out so I didn't have to sit through a sales pitch and we were able to get right down to business. I'd done enough research I could sell this product. The price was very fair but then it was just before the major winter holidays and they were not selling much solar. Timing is everything.

After many months of researching what company to use for solar, I decided with SunPower. Not only with good reviews, but they have been in the solar business for many years, way before the solar got popular being installed in homes. They were already installing solar to big known companies. Unlike many solar companies out there now a days, anyone can install solar and when issues arise a few years from installation, they are nowhere to be found. Found a great sales person that was very knowledgeable with solar. He was the ONLY sales rep that I talked to (talked to many from diff companies) that actually had solar installed in his home, and through SunPower. He knew his stuff. He showed me (used my laptop and logged into his Edison account) and showed me that he has solar and how it works. He was the ONLY one that knew the answers to my questions on how solar works, billing, credits with edison, etc. He followed through on everything he promised. Installation went quick, all approvals went fast and we've had our solar going on 3rd year now and so far so good. I would definitely recommend SunPower. If I can only recommend my sales rep to everyone I would. Great guy!

Today 2/3/2018 my Solar System turns on! Very excited about this new venture. I cannot wait to see the savings. All the team at Sun Power is very professional, friendly and courteous. My experience is that from the sales representative is great; the way he explained the entire process from the beginning stage of the project to completion was on point. Some one always calls to follow up with the process and what the next step will be. I have to say I am very satisfied thus far. Again, I cannot wait to see the actual savings on paper. I will definitely update my review .about the service. I will definitely recommend Sunpower to my friends. Overall the experience is excellent! Kathleen M

Okay! "so here's the scoop," I've been looking into solar for quite sometime, however it's been a nice journey, for me to learn about solar power and its affiliates. I looked into several companies, many had great salesperson rep down, but it just wasn't what I was looking for, when it comes to the panels, I've learned that while many of the panels from solar companies are at it's best for that particular company, doesn't mean it's the best panel. I had to consider a few things, for example: pricing, degradation over 20 years, product warranties for service, also power. Yeah!!, I finally found the company that had the panels and the warranty for the lifespan of the system, "Sun Power." Although I've seen negative feedback about customer service when it comes down to the contractors, not performing top notch, it has not implicated the panels negatively, and the reason why? is these panels are the best around, I've got say Sun Power panels are better than their competitors, they're more efficient, built stronger, the degradation is slower, also have better durability, I also must mention the "(25,25,25)." 25 years on service, product, and power. I want to inform you good folks, that customer service for me so far has been a great experience, of course I hope it continues, I have a wonderful sales rep her name is Katarina, she works with a great team of people, Adriana is also a gem to this service. I would say as long as you have wonderful installation team and contractor, like I have, it's a no brainer, to go with a Sun Power company, for your solar needs.

I purchased my solar electrical system through POCO Solar and completed the entire system 4 years ago. At that time, PG&E limited size of the system, but that was increased by petition to PG&E. SunPower solar panels are technologically superior, and have a higher output per square foot than other companies I compared. My system has 21 panels, roof mounted, and a wall mounted inverter. My home is two story and includes a large pool and hot tub. The contract included a OUTPUT guaranty as well as the 25 year warranty - all through Sun Power and POCO Solar at no additional cost. The POCO Solar sales person wexplained everything in great detail and all payment options were presented. The installed system is continuously monitored by Sun Power and myself to guaranty performance and identify any problems. All system maintenance, if any, is handled by POCO Solar. My electric bill for the entire year is between -(minus) $ 20 to - minus $60. The entire contract was completed as scheduled and on time. I have had no system or equipment failures.

We have a SunPower system installed on our home. The terms, installation, performance and aesthetic of our system has been fantastic. Our system is the right size and the components installed are tidy and hidden as best as possible. We have had our system installed for 2 summers now and it has delivered flawlessly. Our system was installed by Photon Brothers and from sales person to installer and those on the phone have provided A+ service and have answered my questions promptly. Our thoughts on this installation and service are that if the system runs flawlessly, there will be no other interaction with either SunPower or Photon Bros., becasue all components are operating as intended. The monthly reports and online monitoring are pretty cool too.

My system was installed and operating on June 30, 2017 as promissed. The installation was in conjunction with my house being re-roofed. The Energy Plus Solar installers contacted the roofing company and cordinated everything. The few hiccups with the city inspectors were all handled seemlessly and I was kept abreast of the progress. The Ron S. is my saleman and he has been awesome, great before and after the installation customer service, he handled everything for me. The electricity produced is higher than he told me it would be and we just got out first bill, $1.15. We paid for the system so I can't talk about financing or leasing. If I had to choose a product and installers again I would select Sunpower and Energy Plus Solar. I've been telling all my neighbors and my clients about my panels and my experience.

Our panels (see yourself at https://goo.gl/mYVzbf) were designed and installed by RevoluSun, an Elite SunPower dealer. These 29 X21-345 panels are a 10 kW system, and we've actually pinned generation up against the SolarEdge Inverter limit of 10.3 kW once or twice. (See https://goo.gl/nbrWNr.) RevoluSun was perfect. Our biggest problem was getting building and electrical approvals in Westwood, MA, a bunch of really conservative people. Amazingly, RevoluSun/SunPower were the only team that were willing to work with what we wanted. We have a moderate tree shading situation, and we are not going to cut trees. So the plan was to OVERBUILD, that is, put up more nameplate generation than we needed, because when we did get clear sky unshaded sun, we wanted to generate like crazy. Sungevity (now bankrupt) wouldn't even consider our home, even if we were going to own the panels. SolarCity wouldn't do the full 10 kW. SunEdison (also bankrupt) came closest to RevoluSun/SunPower, but was only willing to put up 8 kW. Two other suppliers were rejected for other reasons having to do with their process. First Light occurred on 31 December 2015. And we've never looked back. Meantime, RevoluSun has been a fabulous partner and I cannot speak too highly of these marvelous panels.

I purchased my 2nd system from SunPower, my prior system was a complete disaster. After taking the time to educate myself on the difference in not only Solar Panels but inverters as well, I now have a system that provides me with a net zero PLUS credit useage at the end of each month. I have been monitoring my system on a daily/weekly and monthly basis. Prior to the SunPower installation, I compared the offerings (proposals) between 6 different companies. There is a world of difference. I now have less panels (28 vs 62) and produce substantially more kwh per month. My current system in comparison cost substantially less than my original system even taking into consideration the difference in cost (price) drop over the years. YES you can buy cheaper, but in my estimation you can't get better! As a plus, my salesman (Alan C) was not pushy and he listened to what it was that I wanted and what my needs were as opposed to what was being offered.

2010 I decided to go with SunPower panels. Did my homework as 6 yrs ago not a lot of resources or dealers. Once I made decision on panels I shop distributors. When a panel has a warranty of 25 yrs, you can bet the dealer you buy from will not be around. So the Company SunPower is the key, they honor the warranty and had a track record of being in business. They just gave the local Children's Museum here 90 panels that saves the museum $67,000 a yr on electric. They are all over Northern Calif on large projects, schools, churches, commercial and of course homeowners. I like the monitoring system on my cell phone and can read daily output and compare usage monthly or dally from 6 yrs back. It's fun, and I usually get 4 to 6 hundred $$ back from PG & E as credit toward my gas bill. Do your homework. Oh I paid cash and got all the rebates from Government and State. The Government credit carries over year to years if you don't need the $$. Never had a problems panels or dealer who installed.

Had system installed in June 2015 by AES (Chico, CA). Deposit was $1k. Sales man was NOT pushy like other company sales people. They did clean install. I am Engineer and knowledgable about building codes. They designed they system and installed it beyond code requirements. They worked out what system size worked best for me (utility is PG&E, so tier pricing). My system was designed to keep me in the "cheap" teir. They did not over build/sell system. They were honest about government rebates and told me to check with my tax advisor to make sure I understood how the rebates work. other companies promised things that were not true. In 6 months have had ZERO issues with the system. The monitoring is easy to use. I have compared my system to other friends systems and mine seems to be more efficient (comes on earlier and produces more in low light / cloudy days).

Sunpower Chico - Brian Aguiar, specifically - are fantastic! As anyone hiring a contractor knows, it always feels like there are delays and complications. This was NOT our experience. The timelines we were given were completely accurate and the system is flawless. We currently produce upwards of 85 kWh every sunny day! Also, VERY much to our surprise, a check came in the mail two months after our install. The check value was two months worth of the difference between our average PGE bill (prior to solar) and the monthly payment on the solar system! Completely unexpected - but they basically paid us for the wait time to have the system designed, permitted, installed and verified by PGE! AMAZING bonus! We love our system and now have a $0 PGE bill...can't beat that!

I have no idea how this company as so many great reviews. We signed a lease, which had a guarantee for the amount of solar they will produce for our house. Our panels died within last year and we were basically told we need to fix them and keep paying the lease payment. Apparently, we were supposed to go down to the local SunPower parts shop and fix the panels ourselves. We fought with them for months to get a tech out to fix it. Finally we stopped payment on the panels, since we were paying for nothing while also paying the original electric bill during a summer in Arizona. The tech finally came out after waiting 6 months and said the PV5 was no longer communicating/working with their system so they had to change it out for a PV6. Once it was swapped out, IT STARTING WORKING! IMAGINE! We started paying on the bill and received a final debt collection notice. We paid the missing months because we were tired of dancing around even though we paid for nonworking panels just to move forward. Nope, according to the last invoice, they have received no payments, even though their sorry website says we all the payments owed to them. We've spoken to over a dozen "representatives" and they are all clueless. They keep asking for money even though our bill should be 0 until the following month. Would never recommend this guys to anyone.

Recently bought new home in jan2024 and it's been 5 months my solar system is not activated yet. First sunpower team didn't submit the paperwork to Smud later I found with Smud there is no paperwork from sunpower.. After doing everything once everything was ready to go then sunpower team just sending us emails with instructions how to activate solar system by our self instead of sending their team member to activate it. After first e-mail they reply after a month later and then same lame excuses like we did try online but unfortunately didn't work out so again received same e-mail how to activate by our self... Really disappointed, non professional and 3rd class service from sunpower.

This is the worst customer service I have ever encountered. No call backs! No email replies! It's like they have my money and now I'm forgotten! I had my panels removed by the sub contractor they sent out for a new roof replacement. Now the roof work has been completed almost a year now and I still can't get my panels replaced back up on my roof. Called and getting nowhere! Then they are switching sub contractors three different companies and can't get any answers. I got dates for installation but I got NO shows and NO calls! I can't keep taking off from work for this! I'm am missing out on any benefits I am supposed to get with solar! I feel that I'm wasting my money!

I have had my system since 2013. No issues with the installation. The saleman recommended I lease the system in the event the system needed parts/repair it would be the responsibility of the leasing company. Sounds good to me!! During early 2023 I experienced some minor issues but it wasn't until October 2023 that I had a major issue. The Green Convergence techs that were on the phone with Sun Power finally advisedd me that one of my inverters required a "new brain". It is now May 2024 and after multiple emails (documented) prmising me the parts were on order (a lie) they finally came clean and said the parts are no longer available. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! WHAT KING OF WARRANTY IS THAT??? Now I will admit the red light has not come back on but when and if it does, what are my options. YOU GUESSED IT AND i WILL NOT LET IT GO!!! You talk about bad faith. I would never receommend this company to anyone. BEWARE OF THEIR WARRANTY.

Capra J'neva

An unbelievable travesty of a solar company. Whatever credibility they once had is now gone. I've been trying to get them to correct a botched installation that resulted in the doubling of my power bills for 7 months. DOUBLING OF MY BILLS. They said it was due to the fact that it was winter, but it was actually due to the fact that they put the sensor wires in backwards and doubled around! So they've come out and done something, but their own systems clearly show that it still isn't working, and they are refusing to refund our overbilling to the tune of thousands of dollars "until the system is completely repaired." But since they closed their residential installation division 2 weeks ago, it's unclear who will support our more than $33,000 system going forward. The minute you pay them they want nothing to do with you, so my recommendation is DO NOT PAY your final bill until you've had a few good power bills from your power company and are absolutely certain the system is working. I mean, this is on top of them taking more than a month to remember to hook up our system, forgetting to include the solar regulator, and rushing the installation so badly that they left trash all over our yard every time they came out. Worse than one star.

A lot seems to have happened to this company because they are NOT worth even one star. We have been waiting for them to comply with PG&Es requirements for over 6 weeks. We've had four different project coordinators and none have managed to complete the work. The company does not respond to messages or calls except to say they will get in touch soon. Don't hold your breath because it won't happen. So far we have paid them $48,400 and had to hire arborists to remove trees at an additional cost of $1,950. Their installers had a very different approach to the location of batteries, the hub, etc., than their alleged designers. We now have two huge batteries next to our front door and no sign of the company even trying to make the changes that PG&E requires.

I hate to write bad reviews but I have had to do a lot of this with Sunpower. I've had my system since 2016 and things had been great with both the product and costumer service. Starting October 2023, I noticed changes in my production and saw that one of my panels starting to fail. I contacted the company to get it fixed under their warranty and have been given the runarounds since. I am now down 2 panels with a 3rd panel now starting to underperform as well. Only responses I get is that they are "working on it" or that "someone will reach out to you in a few business days to follow up" and weeks go by without a word. Not sure what happened with this company because back in 2019, they replaced an failed inverter on a timely basis without me having to have to constantly follow up. 6 months out now and still no fix on my Sunpower system.
