Affordable Price

Medical Guardian members receive medical alert equipment free of charge** with no setup fees or long-term contracts. The systems are backed by a lifetime warranty and include access to their 24/7 monitoring centers in the event of an emergency.

Medical Guardian offers lower monitoring fees with more extensive features and higher quality equipment compared to its competitors, making the company one of the most quality and affordable medical alert options in the industry. For many other medical alert providers, you'll pay a high upfront fee for equipment as well as a hefty monthly monitoring fee.

Free equipment offer does not include the Freedom Guardian system (the medical alert smartwatch) or the Mini Guardian.

High-Quality Medical Alert Systems

Medical Guardian has multiple medical alert packages to choose from. This gives customers the versatility to pick the medical alert plan that works best for them. Whether you want coverage just for the home or if you want 24/7 coverage for when you're on the go, Medical Guardian has you covered.

We break down each offered package below, or you can find a product overview with pictures here

Classic Guardian

This plan starts at $0.97 per day.

The Classic Guardian is the lowest priced package Medical Guardian offers. The medical alert system is meant to keep you safe in and around your home with a 1,300 range. The system connects to your landline phone, and the medical alert device is a wearable waterproof button. The system includes a built-in speaker with two-way communication and power outage protection with a 32-hour battery backup.

Home Guardian

This plan starts at $1.13 per day.

The Home Guardian is a wireless medical alert system that does not require a phone landline. The system works with a nationwide cellular network that gives you access to Medical Guardian's 24/7 monitoring station at any time. The system comes with a wearable medical alert button, which has a 600-foot range from the base unit.

Mini Guardian

This plan starts at $1.29 per day.

The Mini Guardian is the smallest and sleekest help button Medical Guardian offers. It comes in three colors, including black, silver, and white. Its capabilities are similar to Medical Guardian's other offered medical alert systems and is water-resistant, includes GPS tracking, and has a five-day battery life. This plan does require a one-time equipment fee, unlike the other basic medical alert packages.

Being half the width and weight of a regular medical alert system, this device is best for consumers who care about the convenience of size and would prefer a smaller device compared to a regular-sized system and don't mind a one-time equipment fee. The mini can clip onto bags, purses, belts, clothing, etc. for ease of use. You can also add fall detection to the mini if you'd like extra protection.

The range on this device is unlimited.

**Free equipment offer does not include the Mini Guardian system.

Freedom Guardian

This plan starts at $1.35 per day.

The Freedom Guardian is the only package that does not include free equipment. Because it is an advanced smartwatch, the Freedom Guardian requires a one-time equipment fee of $299. You can find more information regarding the smartwatch capabilities below under the section "The Freedom Guardian Medical Alert Watch."

Active Guardian

This plan starts at $1.35 per day.

The Active Guardian is a portable medical alert system with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi technology. You can use this system at home or on the go since it functions on Verizon's 4G cellular network. The system includes a wearable alert button, two-way communication, and location tracking with GPS.

Mobile Guardian

This plan starts at $1.35 per day.

The Mobile Guardian is a portable mobile medical alert system that functions on built-in GPS technology and cellular connection. This enables customers to use their medical alert devices outside of their homes. The device includes a wearable button that has a 350-foot range from the device. The system has location tracking and two-way communication.

Smartwatch Medical Alert Option

Medical Guardian has a new high-tech medical alert device that is a smartwatch for seniors called The Freedom Guardian. This new medical alert watch is designed to be sleek and convenient to wear every day. The Freedom Guardian doesn't need a base unit to connect to, and you can wear it and trigger the medical alert emergency service anywhere you go.

Caregivers or family members can download the Companion mobile app to communicate with Freedom Guardian wearers at any time as well as track their current location.

The Freedom Guardian does not include fall detection.

The Freedom Guardian has various features to aid your health and safety as well as additional perks. Here are a few of the Freedom Guardian features to be aware of:

  • Emergency Alerts — Use the smartwatch to call for help at any time and anywhere.
  • Reminders — Set the smartwatch to give you calendar alerts and reminders for to-dos like taking medicine, drinking water, and visiting the doctor.
  • Activity Tracking — Track steps and monitor your activity to make sure you are staying active regularly.
  • Messaging and Audible Features — Stay in touch with your loved ones through text-to-speech messaging.
  • Weather Monitoring — Retrieve the daily weather forecast.
  • Touchscreen —  Use the convenient and easy-to-use touch screen that was built with older adults in mind. The touchscreen has oversized icons to improve ease of use.
  • Battery — Take advantage of the two-day battery life that also charges quickly within 1.5 hours.
  • GPS Tracking — Utilize GPS tracking and locate your loved one or the missing watch at any time with this feature.

1,300-Foot Range from Base Station

Medical Guardian's home-based medical alert system has a 1,300-foot range. This is a much larger range than most medical alert providers out there who offer closer to 600–1,000 feet of coverage from the base station.

Medical Guardian's long range from the base station gives medical alert users more freedom in how far they can travel away from the base unit while still having full coverage in case of a fall or another emergency.

7-Day-Hour Battery Life

Medical Guardian's medical alert devices have a 7-day battery life, which is one of the longest in the industry. Many medical alert companies have medical alert systems that only have 24-hour battery lives and need to be charged every night, which can be a pain if you want to wear the emergency button while you sleep as an extra precaution.

Automatic Fall Detection

Every Medical Guardian alert system offers fall detection except for the Freedom Guardian system. Fall detection pendants are equipped with a sensor that is triggered any time a fall occurs, which then immediately sends a signal to Medical Guardian's monitoring center informing them of the emergency.

Lifetime Warranty and No Long-Term Contract

Members may cancel their Medical Guardian services at any point without charge. As opposed to companies such as Life Alert, you won't be locked into any long-term contracts with the expectation of buying out. This allows customers to try out Medical Guardian to see if it is the right medical alert provider for them without having to commit to the service for a long period of time.

Medical Guardian also offers a lifetime warranty on all its products. If for some reason the equipment is damaged or malfunctions, Medical Guardian will replace it free of charge. Having free equipment and a lifetime warranty on all products ensures money for equipment never has to come out of the customer's pocket.

The warranty does not cover lost or damaged items. However, Medical Guardian offers a protection plan for $6.99 per month that would cover those circumstances.

CSAA Five Diamond Certified Monitoring Center

Medical Guardian is UL Listed, FM approved, and ESA Security certified. The company's monitoring centers and operators are also certified and committed to CSAA's five points of excellence, making Medical Guardian's response times the quickest and most efficient in the industry.

Customer Review: Ginny Davis from Richmond Virginia

"On at least two occasions within the past month, I have had falls where I punched the pendant and I had a response and the fire department here within about fifteen to twenty minutes. They helped me get to my feet. It is not an overstatement to say this pendant saved my life."

Service monitoring is available 24/7, and Medical Guardian's fall detection can detect a fall without any action from the individual, so you don't need to worry about calling for help, as your device will do so on its own. Every system also offers two-way communication so in the case of an emergency, you can talk directly to Medical Guardian's monitoring service.

Medical Guardian's monitoring centers provide bilingual support for those who cannot speak English.

Award-Winning Customer Service

When analyzing Medical Guardian reviews, one of the most referenced positives about the company is its quick responses and exceptional customer service. The company won the Silver Stevie Award for Excellence in Customer Service in 2019 and continues to demonstrate that customer service is one of the most important aspects of the company's mission.

Medical Guardian customers note the company's representatives are always prompt, patient, and helpful whether it's an emergency, a routine test, or just a simple customer service inquiry. The company has the same caring attitude regardless of the situation.

The Bad

  • Extra Monthly Fee for Fall Detection

Extra Monthly Fee for Fall Detection

Medical Guardian charges $10 extra per month if you want a fall alert pendant included in your plan. However, this is the industry standard and is definitely worth the cost if you want extra peace of mind. A fall detection pendant notifies Medical Guardian's monitoring station immediately when a fall is detected, even if the medical alert wearer can't press the button.

A fall alert pendant is an extra layer of protection that could potentially save a consumer's life, so the $10 extra a month doesn't seem like it's too unreasonable, especially when the majority of medical alert companies charge the same monthly price for fall detection.

The Bottom Line

No matter if you're looking for an in-home or an on-the-go system, Medical Guardian has multiple medical alert packages for both types of situations.

Linda

It's not noticeable. I don't even realize I have it, so it's not intrusive into my life. But it gives me some comfort knowing that I have someone with me even though there's nobody there. However, the rope that holds it around my neck broke, and it actually broke where it's attached to the medical alert so I couldn't wear it if I had to keep it in my pocket. But they sent me a new one. It was the wrong one, but finally just today I got the correct one. So its now being charged. There were only two times where I either dropped it or it was dropped in a way that had nothing to do with my health situation. But they responded very quickly and in a very nice way.

Medical Guardian has taken care of my needs. Even though the device that I had was defective, they got the other one to me very quickly and got me taken care of in a timely fashion. Being on my own, I don't have anybody living here to help me or even living near me. One of the reasons that I ended up getting the device was that I slipped in the shower and then couldn't get up. Took me 2 hours to get a hold of my telephone and call 911 so they could come and help me out of the shower. Had I had this device on, it would have been no problem at all, other than pushing the button and being terribly embarrassed. My son insisted I get this device and he bought it for me and pays for the service between him and my daughter and it's just really nice to know that they care. I'm not sure what it cost but I would say at this point in time, whatever it costs, it's worth it.

Son ordered system before I was ready to pretend I was living alone. Several nice calls reminding me to sign the contract, that was not right for me. One really rude call who wouldn't listen. Did send in a corrected, signed contract. Can't use the braclet stuff, it makes my skin break out, not that Son aor anyone cared. I'm 90, on my own now in Montana, trying to get my house repairs done, started before my husband'death, not that it made a difference to those demanding I wear this thing all the time. Sometimes it comes undone from the lanyard or gets where you are bending over and then it goes off. Can be a pain in the neck. But I do where it all of the time now that I'm alone.

I live in a rural area and I do have some problems with the cell phone out here, the service is very weak, but every time I've tested it, it does work. On one test, they couldn't answer the phone and something came up saying that they lost the cell phone connection but they called me back on my other phone immediately so I think that was really good and they told me that if I hadn't have answered that other phone that they would have sent some medics out. It makes me it makes me feel more comfortable when I have to leave because the one that lives with me has a fall risk and so I feel a lot better if I have to go. I hang that pendant thing around her neck so that if she does fall we'd be able to just tell.

Well it obviously works but I'm not real happy with the instructions that were provided up front when I received the device. I was not informed that if any of my people in my care circle received a call that they have to know the contract number in order to get information. My daughter got an alert and she didn't know the contract number and the person hung up on her and it caused her a great deal of concern. The other thing is I took my receiver off of the cradle and laid it on the counter top because it said you shouldn't leave it in there too long and I was working around the house and I thought I heard somebody say my name but I I have the TV on so I didn't pay attention to it. Apparently it was you guys calling to check on me and next thing my neighbors knew, sheriff's department called up, probably doing a wellness check, so I needed a little more information about how I'm gonna leave that thing off the cradle. So I know the thing works because obviously I'm getting responses from the fire department and the sheriff's office and whatever.

The product arrived on time in good condition and was set up easily and tested. Because it blinks all the time when I ware it and is disconcerting to other people and pets, I wear it inside my clothing and backwards. When my electricity went off while travling in another state, the battery only remained charged for 23 hours, not 5 days. I akways test it when traveling by calling the dispatcher using the button to determine if they know where I am located and what the signal strength. I'm surprised that it is only moderate or fair most of the time. The dispatchers and customer service have always been pleasant and helpful. The wait time for customer seevice is too long.Fortunately, I have not had to use the service due to a fall, so I can't judge the response time for help to arrive. I am concerned that I might kot be able to reach the duspatcher fir help duringva storm dye to no verizon service because of loss of electricity and signal strength.

To be honest with you I think the price a little high but I realize there's a lot of things involved so I guess the price is pretty pretty reasonable. I guess I'm satisfied with it. I've never had occasion to use it I hope I don't, but if I have a case to use it I guess it'll be okay. I don't know because I've never had to use it. Now my wife had one two to three years ago before she passed away and it worked pretty good because we pushed a button and here that came the police and the ambulance and the fire department and one of your reps was able to get my wife to the hospital, unfortunately she never came home. It fell off my belt last night and then I decided it's time to charge it.

Well they're very reliable every time. I live in a place where the telephone reception is not great and so I tested it several times at all hours of the day and night and I tested in every room in the house and every time I tested it I got a a very prompt response from the company and it was very well done, I thought. I think it's it's a very good system with the exception that if you fall and lose consciousness, I'm not sure it set off the alarm unless you fell in a certain way. There is one problem that I was actually going to call the company and tell them about it and that is the following: It's supposed to protect the patient. If I should fall down, that should trigger the system. The problem is that if you fall on your back or fall on your side, it will not activate the mechanism. You've got to fall on your stomach. If the floors are hard, it'll set it off, but if you fall on the carpet, chances are not good that it is going to get set off.

Ellen Cole Brookline, MA

In general, I'm quite pleased with the device. I was initially disappointed that I couldn't wear it in the shower (as promised by the sales agent on the phone), but that's not a big problem; I keep it in a plastic container on the floor outside the shower. I also realized that it was quite uncomfortable to wear on the cord around my neck, but I put it into my sports bra or into a pocket, and it's just fine. I don't realize I'm wearing it. My only real complaint was that when I tested it two weeks ago for its monthly checkup, I got a message that said my call couldn't go through. I took me quite a while to find the customer service telephone number, which SHOULD BE in large letters on the packing box and MAYBE ON THE DEVICE AS WELL. It took quite a lot of back-and-forthing before the representative and I could make my device work again. Now I've been asked to check it every week. So I did it last week, and it worked fine, but if that had been a real emergency, it would have been a disaster. The representative made a point of explaining to me, as though I were an idiot, that electronic devices sometimes have problems. Unfortunately for the company, the request for this review came right after that, so I was feeling pretty hostile, but I've gotten over that and calmed down. I'm sure this kind of thing happens with devices from all companies. I do recommend Medical Guardian, but if you do get one, post the customer service number in several obvious places.

It's compact and it works anywhere outside in addition to working inside. It's basically a good unit. I had one unfortunate test I was in another state in Utah and I though I would try make sure it works alright because I was still a new a customer of yours and I've got your attendant and I described that this was just strictly a test and that everything was alright and I was just testing it. But lo and behold you people want to head and alerted all the other people on my list and the ambulance showed up at my house in California and while I was in Utah and that cause stirred up a lot of concern with my family members that are on the phone. And I can understand why that happened because I explained very clearly I thought that this is just a test and that I was alright and why you people when they head and alerted and so here the ambulance showed up to my house in California and no no Sir. And my family members straighten it out. I don't know why that happened because the person at the other end was able to answer my questions when I talked.

It's a very convenient device. The charging unit stopped charging and it was replaced but the replacement is okay. I tested it twice. I had some inconveniences with the person that I was speaking to at the time I was testing it. There needs to be a better explanation as to what to expect in terms of the call back. I was staying in a different room than the base unit so I actually missed the call and wasn't prepared in advance and knowing the sequence of the test. I called in when there was a red light on my base unit and it was showing it wasn't working to recharge. They said they would get a replacement overnight but the first one was actually the wrong part and then it was six days. It was a little excessive for delivery.

When we originally ordered this for my father he ended up in the hospital. I called and asked if I could suspended the service until he got home and they said yes, they put in suspension because we hadn't even taken it out of the box yet so they put it in suspension for thirty days and told me to call back. In that thirty day period someone else from the company continued to call my mom to say "you didn't set up your medical guardian". That was a little bit of frustration to my mom don't understand. I felt like there was a little bit of a lack of communication or something between the departments.

Would you help us in locating your father's account? Any information shared in your response will not be posted publicly. I picked them basically because of the price and the usability it offered for my husband. It has been very good for him. I've set it off accidentally 3 times. One time it happened while I was at the doctor's office. They ended up contacting my daughter because I was out of range and they couldn't get a hold of me. They responded very well. The wristband that they sent us is very impractical, very bulky. The one that he wears around the neck wouldn't stay put when we put it under his shirt. We ended up sending it to a jeweler so they would put some kind of clasp on it that would work. Now it's fine, it can lay flat on his chest. They also need to revamp the way it hooks up on the dock. Still, it's a good service with a good response time.

It gave me peace of mind because I was all alone. It's a comfort to know that I have it hanging around my neck. All I have to do is push the button if I need it. Now I have family close by so I can get help if I fall. Most of the times I've used it was by accident when I turned over in bed. They have called me to make sure things are working right for me and that everything is ok. I'm not really able to get out and walk down the street, otherwise I would certainly have it with me when I do that. Right now I'm going through physical therapy to strengthen my legs, so maybe when I'm stronger I'll be able to do that. I feel like I can get help with it if I need it. I do have to remember to keep the battery charged. One time I lost my device. I didn't know where it was so I called them. A girl helped me find it in my bathroom, even though I couldn't remember leaving it there. I do think it's a little expensive. I have tried looking around for something cheaper but Medical Guardian works so I'm sticking with it.

As far as I know, the service is as it should be. What I don't like is not being able to access enough information online. When I log on to my account, all I get is my own contact information -- and I can't edit even that -- as well as info on billing and referrals. I want to be able to see the names and contact information for my contacts, as well as the procedure to be followed when I press the button for a test, and when I press the button because I really need help. Telling me to call or use the chat box infantilizes me -- like I can't be trusted to understand anything on my own, but need the people in the office to make changes or explain things to me. The leadership at Medical Guardian may be under the outdated impression that all older people want a live voice on the phone, but many of us are used to accessing information online and prefer the convenience, just as younger people do. Also, there should be a Don't Know option on the questions about trustworthiness, etc., because if someone hasn't had occasion to use the service, how do we know if it works?

I went online and read reviews about Medical Guardian because I had a bad experience with another company. so, I was really precautious this time choosing the best option for my mother. I like the fact that Medical Guardian doesn't demand contracts and it is very easy to communicate between the customer and the company. My mother is really happy with it; she can charge it in the table beside her while she's watching her soap operas; It's really convenient for her. We haven't had to use it more than just a couple of times when we were just trying it and making sure that is working properly, and fortunately is working correctly.

I got it for my mom, I researched it before and the best ratings are for Medical Guardian, that's why I bought it. We use to used it really frequently when my dad was alive because he used to fell down really frequently and my mom wasn't able to pick him up, so, she would use Medical Guardian to send and alert and request for assistance. The service is excellent; they've always been there when my mom needed it. The only thing that I'm concern about is that the machine is located in the hallway and sometimes when we practice a test and my mom is in the living room, the central can't hear my mother speaking and is not that far. But, for the rest of all I'm pretty confident in the good service of Medical Guardian.

My son in law decided to get it. He's here with me but he's not home often, so it has been useful. I've had it for a couple of years now and I wear it everyday. I don't have to worry if I fall down, all I have to do is press the button if that happens. With it, I also don't need to keep my phone around all the time. I can go grocery shopping with it, get my stuff, my basket, take the things that I need, and load it up, without having to carry a lot of extra things with me. It's not like I go out much by myself, but there's always somebody with me when I do. I've never had a problem with it but I have ruined the wristband now...

I looked at ratings and considered which one would have the quickest contact as far as initiating the system went. They were the quickest and also had the most reasonable price out there. In the end I picked it for my mother to have. She hasn't had to use it much, it's just a safety thing in case she falls and stuff like that. Other than the wristband breaking down I haven't had any problems with it at all. Even that was alright since we had insurance and it was covered. Everything has been good. When we have errors that set the alarm off, they get to us pretty fast. I've also run a few tests and those have gone well too. It seems to work well, the response is good and it's all simple to understand. With my mother's condition though I'm not sure it's going to be beneficial to us, she has memory deficiency problems.

Oh, it's great to have if you live alone or have any pre-existing medical conditions. However, if you get too close to a counter top or to a buffet steam table, it becomes too sensitive & goes off. You don't know how many times they've contacted me or a cousin over a false alarm. It's only now, many months later, that I finally tumbled to how to "intercept" a false alarm signal. Don't get me wrong. I'm very glad it works. It's just too sensitive so if you're near any counter or steam table, y7ou have to wear it backwards. Also, I wish they made a "watch" version & I wish, like the competition, they made a waterproof button that attached to the shower wall or tub wall so it could be used therew, tioo.

Professional, prompt response. Would have given you a 5, but there was some difficulty getting back to the person who gave me information initially, when it was time to order. My name was spelled wrong, despite telling Customer Service about it. Also, a major problem in the literature that doesn't explain what shows up in the Caller ID window to identify it's Medical Guardian. I accidently pushed the button, and because I didn't recognize the number that was calling, the fire department showed up, along with an extremely nervous son. I wrote a letter about that, as well, suggesting something be put in the literature to let people know it's your company calling in case they hit the button by mistake, as I did. I didn't answer the phone because I thought it was a robo call. Customer Service could do a better job, but the responders were wonderful.None

My mother is in a retirement facility, she's almost 99 years old. What they provided for her there wasn't that great. It didn't cover her when she was off the property and we didn't even think it was that good inside the property. So I researched it and looked at all the services and features available and got medical guardian. They were just, hands down, the best ones. I had some difficulty getting things set up properly at first, but things worked out. I like the fact that they talk to me and I can talk with them. It's very reassuring. The device is a little big, I haven't been able to come up with a good way for her to carry it. I guess she could hang it around her neck but it's too bulky. It'd be nice if it was smaller.

We chose them because it had pretty good reviews and the price seemed right. My mother just wears her thing around her neck all the time, just for safety. She also has the bracelet thing, but that just falls apart on its own. One day I just looked at it and noticed that the button part of it was gone. I never knew what happened to that. Thankfully she hasn't fallen in the last couple of years, but we've called every once in a while. We're very pleased with them. They're very kind, responsive, and always encourage us to test it periodically. The one time we did use it was by accident. Medical Guardian called the 3 people that are on the emergency contact list. Problem was, none of us really answered because it showed up as an 800 number. Because of that they sent out a police officer to check in on her and she was just fine, eating her lunch and wondering why the police was there. After that incident, we made sure that their number was programmed into our phones so we would know when they called us.

They were rated as a top company when I researched them. The main thing I was looking for was a quick response time. Time is of the essence for me since I'm not young and I have asthma, so I wanted somebody to respond within 10 seconds of me pushing the button and they seemed to be ones that could do that. I've tested it a lot and I'm a little disheartened though. It usually takes them up to 60 seconds to respond when I call. I really want to give them a chance though, so I'll be keeping it. They are just very polite and respectful when they respond. If I call with a question they're very informative. Besides, other companies out there have similar wait times so...There was one time when I called them where things got a bit mixed up. I was testing it and when they responded I talked to them and told them it was a test. Apparently there was a bit of miscommunication between them and emergency services though. The ambulance came out here even though I was alright. In the end they were very understanding of the situation, but I was disappointed by that...

The unit works better than the old one I used to have. I've only contacted them once but it's nice that I have different ways to get in touch with them. I can reach them through the internet or through my phone. I've really enjoyed that. We had some issues with the way the back of the unit stays hooked up. We've had to tape it to make it stay. My husband also has trouble with the necklace getting tangled up with his oxygen cord, but that's normal for anything that just hangs around your neck. It also has this safety feature where, if it gets pulled, the necklace will get disconnected. It's a great safety feature, but as I mentioned it doesn't really work for us. I had to take that off. We put it to charge at night but its awfully easy for anything to knock that over. Our cat does that all the time, he just likes playing with it. It'd be nice if they made so it can't be knocked down as easily. Despite those design flaws, it's still a good device.

At the time of purchasing it, they were best option for me financially. On a typical day, I get up, get dressed, and put it on me. I just take it with me wherever I go, even in the shower. I use a power wheelchair, so if I have to do any kind of transfer by myself, I have it on me in case something happens. I have not had to utilize it for an emergency yet, but I did use it when I needed emergency transport because of an infection I had. I've also tested it to make sure it works. Once when I was taking a walk through the forest I pushed the button to test it. The device was able to pinpoint exactly where I was. I appreciated the accuracy in case anything ever happens while I'm out there. They're good at checking if I'm using the button for a test or for an actual need. They also ask me if anyone else with me needs help. The only drawback is that it seems to take a long time to connect to anybody. It feels like if I were to call 911 on my own, I would connect with someone faster that way. I don't always have my phone on me though, so it's useful. I appreciate their service.

I picked it because of the value and the fact that we are able to talk to a person without doing a lot. The person that uses it takes showers and does everything with it on, so that's nice. It works. One time he accidentally pushed it and the company called every person on the list and got a hold of me. That was nice, it showed that the company was paying attention. It has been pretty good so far. One time I tried to called them and it took a long time for them to answer when I pushed the button, but that was kind of late at night. It's just very simple and easy to use. It has some sort of built in feature that if somebody continuously pushed the button and starts talk back to it. It was funny because, when our cat was pushing the button, it started saying "stop that."

I do have some problems with it if you'd like to hear those. Well I have the wristband and I wear it all the time in the shower or wherever. I do have questions on whether or not it would function if I'm a few blocks away, I live in an independent area but I go to another area for my dinner and I'm questioning whether or not if something happened it would work not far away I guess I feel it's about three blocks away. Well their customer support is good, its very convenient, its available, easy for me to press where I think the neck device is much more inconvenient from what I have noticed with people who do have the next device. When I first had to have my medical alert for probably six months and one evening just before I was going to bed, I had a fan in my dinning room along with the light and I wanted to turn the fan off and I do suffer from vertigo so I reached up and I knew I was going to fall and I fell backwards and the last thing I remember was cracking my head and I happen to be facing my wall clock, there's no way I could have pushed the medical alert.

Well I've did some research and I think the fact that there weren't monthly payments. I just paid once a year was helpful. I've never had to use it, every once in a while about once a month I accidentally hit the button I don't wear it around my neck because it's too heavy weighs about 4 ounces so I put it in my jeans pocket and sometimes I propped up against the cover but I never had to use it for an emergency but it's nice to know that I've got it. Every time I've accidentally pushed it I get answer right away from a very pleasant person. I think it's too heavy Not the just kind of thing that become a part of me, I would like it better if it didn't weigh so much and I could wear it around my neck. There are others services out there, that were less money and that seemed from their advertising to the same thing as Medical Guardian but I'm happy.

I had two previous falls where I broke my arm and hip. After that I knew I needed to be able to call someone to come help me if that happened again. When I saw their ad on television I called them. The gentleman that I talked to first was a very good salesman and I decided to give it a try to see if what he had said was true. So far, it has been. I wear either the pendant or the wrist band whenever my husband is not at home or out of town. I check it and stuff once a month to make sure everything is working right. The only thing is that I don't really get good reception from the device. I only have 1 out of 5 bars of signal and it bothers me a little. Still, every issue I've ever called them about, they've immediately taken care of it. I wish I had something that I could use with me when I'm out of the house. I know there are some services that you can take with you on the car or just anywhere. I mean, I have my cellphone in my car with me all the time but still.

I really don't know and there's no specific item as I thought it would be, a good reliable company. I think I'd read something favorably by the customers and so we decided to go with it. We have not had to use it at all and we tested occasionally and it seems like it should work out pretty well, when I was gone one time my wife did use it but she didn't need any assistance, she'd fallen but have not been able to get back up and did not injure, they've been very helpful when we have had questions about it and they seem to be very polite and know what they're doing. it's been no problem with it and it has been satisfactory. I don't have any negative comments.

They are much better than the other company I had. I haven't used it much lately but I have a tendency to fall and I'm usually unable to get back up on my own. Whenever that happens I push the button and ask them to call security in the place where I live so they can come for me. Their response time is good, I'm pretty happy with it. Of course, I would prefer if I didn't have to wait at all. I always get a phone ringing before somebody answers and after that I have to wait for them to contact someone else to help me. I wish I could just go straight to whoever can come for me. I like the way it works though. I'm pleased with it and I'll continue using it.

I'm 93, almost 94 years old. After my husband died my children were after me so I would either move closer to them or get Medical Guardian. Since I didn't want to move, I got it. My son is the one that installed everything and pushed the button to test it. When he did, the ambulance responded right away and my next door neighbor came out. Usually I wear the device around my neck everyday when I get up from my bed, when I go to the front door to get the mail, or do that kind of thing. I feel secure having it in case I need it. I'm not really happy with the price though, it's a little high especially considering that I don't use it much.

They WILL NOT do transactions electronically and 10+ business days should be sufficient time from check put in mail to payment posted on account. Debbie, thank you for reaching out. Rest assured that when your parents receive their quarterly invoice, they are not overdue. The invoice generates automatically in their system on their due date, but there is a period of 20 days after that for them to pay their bill. They will incur no late fees and are not considered late with their payment at this point. If you have any other questions about this billing issue, feel free to reply directly to this message. After I had a very mild stroke my children got worried about me. One of my sons looked into this and I decided to go with it. I've had it for some 3 years and so far things have been good. There hasn't been an occasion where I had to use it and I have had very little trouble since the stroke. I usually put the medallion down in my bra to keep it from bouncing around. That way it doesn't bother me at all. I think I've caused them more trouble than anything though. You see, I like washing my hair on the sink. So when I do that I bend over and the necklace gets pushed and sets the alarm off. I apologize whenever that happens, but the gentleman that responds always says that as long as I'm ok, it's alright. From the few times I've talked with them, they've been very nice and I'm completely satisfied with it.

I have cancer and other things that are going physically wrong with my body. Because of that, my wife thought that I needed something to be safe, even when she wasn't at home with me. We picked Medical Guardian out of 3 companies we looked at and things have been good. I was out one day during the summer when it was 103 degrees outside. For whatever reason, I felt myself passing out and pushed my button. Next thing I know, the EMTs were there with an ambulance and I was on my way to the hospital. Everything worked well and after that I knew they were on top of things. I trust them. It's almost like having a blanket when you're cold. You've got to make sure that you're fully covered, and I know what Medical Guardian can do just that.

My dad doesn't wear the stuff because he accidentally hit the alarm all the time, and he doesn't hear well, so when that person talks he doesn't hear them. As a solution we keep the watch in the bathroom, and he has the necklace hanging by his bed, and then the machine is in his living room. I researched it all based on the price. It's great equipment but it takes just a little bit of time for everything to get through. He's used it a couple of times, and we tested it, and it has gone off accidentally. Everybody that we've encountered in customer support has been very nice and polite. When I called the first time, the person I spoke with was very, very caring and understandable. Everyone we speak with is very nice, so I'm really happy with that.

I looked at the alternatives. Between 2 or 3 other companies, Guardian seemed to be the most complete. It has a history and a good price. Fortunately for us, we never had to use it, but we were very concerned about my Dad. He is by himself and I needed to make sure that if something happens they can notify us. We've tested it a few times on a regular basis, and it just works just fine. Whenever we had a problem or questions, they'd answer quickly, and whenever we check the system, there's always somebody available. The device that goes around the neck is pretty simple and easy to use; you just press it. For older people that's very important. When our parents reached this age and they wanted to keep their independence, this was very essential tool for us. It's good to know that there is a company out there that's looking out and providing the service for us.

My husband has epilepsy and I purchased a guardian alarm for him to have in the house while I am gone. I left written as well as verbal instructions that if he pushes the button 911 is to be called 1st and then myself. One day he started to get the aura that a seizure was going to happen so he pushed the button. The dispatcher verified it was my husband and that it was an actual emergency, but called me 1st instead of calling 911 1st like I had asked to be done. My husband was at home with our 3 year old by himself when he pushed the button. I was able to call my neighbor to run across the street and stay with him and my son until first responders arrived. Luckily my husband just had the aura and not the full seizure that time. I just felt that my specific instructions were overlooked and by calling me first it delayed first responders to get to him first.

I have only used them a couple of times, but they got an ambulance to my house quickly and stayed on the phone with me until they arrived. The one thing I didn't like was that they took almost $600 out of my bank account for the next year's payment for my usage of their services and they did this without asking me first if this was okay. They should not have done this without my permission. They did put it back into my account within a few days which is good. But the fact that they took it out to begin with keeps me from giving them 5 star. my account could have been overdrawn because of that!!!

My children were talking it over, and they felt that this is the best way, because I'm living alone. I think I like it. They gave me a device so that when I walk outside, I take the chain with me so that if I fall or something like that, they can find me where I am, in case I cannot come back to the house. That's nice, because it would take me a little while to get back to the house just to call them, that would be too much trouble. I haven't used it except for testing each month. I do that, and then I call them and they immediately call me back, so that was good. So far I am okay. I have had nothing traumatic happen to me. Every month I have to pay $29.99 or something like that. Maybe it's a little too much, maybe they can lower that price a little bit. That would be nice because I've never used it so far.

My son went online and looked it all up after I had a knee replacement. He found that this was going to be the best one, and I have recommend it to a number of other people too. I'm not sure about one thing, and that is that if I'm upstairs and I fall while I have it around my neck, and the main device is downstairs, I don't think I can talk to anybody. I wear the device around my neck whenever I'm at home, and I take the other thing with me every time I go out, and just keep it with me in case. I have called to check every month, but they never told me to do that until a year later. Sometimes, if you haven't done it for a while, it takes forever to answer, but if you do it once a month like they suggest, it's fine. Every time I've had a question, I've called and gotten it answered very easily.

I only use it in my apartment and in the surrounding areas. I can use it for about half a mile around my building. I didn't get the full thing'I didn't think I needed it, because I have a cell phone with a special device on it that I can use if I'm far away from the house. It's good to know that I can use it in the shower, and whenever I'm walking around in the building alone It's useful to have it, and I think it's very worth while for the money.

It has coverage anywhere I went, not just in my house. I haven't had to use it since I got it, not for an emergency, but I call about every other month to test it. It works fine, and they're always very cordial. What I don't like about it is that you can't activate it from the device when it's in the charger. Even if you take it out of there, you've got to have the button around your neck or on your wrist. I don't like that I've got to take two things with me all the time to have complete coverage in the whole United States. If you got a device with the button on, it why can't I just push that button, because I have to take that long anyway? Why do I have to wear a separate device? If I'm away and I leave that that device in the car, if I don't put it in my pocket, and I leave it in the car and go more than a hundred feet away, it doesn't do any good, because I still have the button on my person, but it doesn't transmit that far. If I could just put that device in my pocket, the one that goes in the charger, I would just have one thing I have to have with me. I could have it my pocket at all times, wherever I go or whenever I go. It's a hassle to take it out every time, place it in your car, put it in your pocket. So that's the only downside to the whole system.

I did some research. I took a look at the complaints, the service, the overall rating, the cost, and what services they provide. If someone needed it, I would recommend it, because I bought one for my mother and one for an Aunt. I thought that the sales person I dealt with was very helpful. I felt that they were more interested in the services they were going to provide than in how much money they could make. If they could sell a particular unit, and you didn't need it, they did not sell that to you. They said, "really, you don't need that service, you need this smaller service which is less money." So I think they were customer-oriented. On customer service, they were always friendly, they always answered, they were always understanding if people made a mistake. My mom accidentally pushed the button, and they were always there to make sure that that she was satisfied, and that she wasn't having an episode. I do think that sometimes it's not as easy to use as I would hope, though. The wrist band that my mom wears does not have a microphone built into it, and as such, she can't talk to anybody if she falls down. All she could do is push the button, and have people come and do a response. The old one that I used to have for her had a microphone so that they could talk to her when she pushed the button, and I felt that was a better option.

I was in an automobile accident and the day after I got home, I felt really awful. I told my sister I felt I had to go to the hospital, and we used it to call the ambulance. They were very, very fast, they got here quickly got me to the hospital, they're very nice. It worked. I recommend it, but one thing I didn't like was that a man called me and he was just talking about an upgrade, and he just said "I'm going to send you that now." I said "Is there an additional cost?" and he said "yes" and I said "I'm sorry, I don't want that." I didn't like his presumption or the way he phrased it. I thought it was kind of underhanded. I just don't think they handled that well.

It gave me the best advantages. I do need to test a little more often that I have been, but its a wonderful thing to have, and I like to let everybody know that I'm very satisfied with their service. I wear it 24 hours a day, always carry my little transmitter receiver on my belt when I'm leaving the house, and sometimes when I'm in the house, but I'm always comfortable feeling that if I push that button, they'll be talking to me on my receiver. It's just a little thing to have, but it gives me security. I live by myself and it's the one thing that I could count on; pushing that button and getting somebody's attention to do what I need to have done. It's on 24 hours a day, and that's wonderful for anybody living by themselves. It's a little bit expensive, but I found that the more expensive, the better it is, and this is one of those cases.

I looked at several different companies, and it seemed to offer the combination of relatively low price with the service I needed. It was a genuinely good experience, there was just one technical issue'it was a little bit difficult to plug in to the telephone jack. We needed to get a signal splitter in order to do it, that was the only down side that was out there. My mother wears it, she's in a two bedroom apartment a few blocks from us. The device works within the range of the monitor in the apartment. It's not a GPS type of device, so when she's at home, and if there's a problem, she's able to signal me and send an email to my self, my wife, and to a babysitter we have.

I had investigated several, and this seemed to be the best choice for me. I take it with me when I go on long walks. I had the experience once of falling, and luckily I was in a place where there were people who saw me, but when you walk on country roads, you may lay there for a long time without being seen. This gives me the confidence that there will be help if I need it. I think that they're trustworthy, and that the device is convenient. The one thing that I wish were different would be if I could wear the wrist device separately and not have to carry around the main device, because it's a little bit heavy.

The device is really good, but it's a little bit expensive; you can buy a Jitterbug phone that does the same thing, with a call button that you can hit and someone answers it. It's probably about half the price, and of course you can use the phone for something else. With my device, all I do is call and verify once a month to check it. When I called to check, and asked if they could tell me where I was at there was one agent who refused, and said she couldn't tell me where I was at unless it was an emergency, but the others had been good when I called in and asked them to verify my location. One time I thought something was wrong with my device. The person that was answering couldn't help me with it. It was on a Saturday, and Monday was a holiday, so they said I'd have to wait and call back when their office was open, and that would be on Tuesday. It kind of had me worried; what if it was something really important? I just wanted to ask about why it was not charging right, because they sent a message to some of my folks about that. I don't know if it was not seated right but I just needed some help with it, and they told me to I have to wait and callback on Tuesday. I thought, gosh, what if it runs out of battery power and I needed it before Tuesday? Somebody needs to be on call on the holidays and weekends in case you have trouble with your device. Those were the only negative things. I originally decided to get it because I could use it anywhere.
