However, we do offer a low battery alert that will go out if her Classic Guardian had to switch to battery back-up and that back-up was running low. I got it because I needed some kind of protection and since I liked what they said and offered, I decided to get it. We haven't actually had to use it as of yet but in the four months that we've had it we haven't had any problems either. I should probably test the apparatus though. The microphone is in a completely different room from the thing that I wear. My sister has a different system and I know that that one has the microphone right on the apparatus that you wear. If I were to fall at the other end of the house I'm not sure I'll be able to talk to them. That's one of my concerns with it.

If you push your help button and are out of range to be able to speak through your speaker, you will still get the help you need so long as you are within range for the button press to go through (this varies from unit to unit but would be at least 350 ft). The operator would assume an emergency is occurring and proceed with your emergency plan that was previously put into place. If you are interested, we do offer a unit, the Active Guardian, that has a microphone right on the button that you wear.
