We've been a one guard customer for years and have had nothing but praise, however, this past year we've had several items replaced. They claimed one service request as being "preexisting" and so it was neither repaired nor replaced. Currently, we have been with an oven for over two months. We have had 5 service calls (I think---there's been a LOT I've lost count). They have replaced the motherboard, two fuses, sent an election to check the fuse box for trouble, and replaced the thermometer. It STILL isn't working. They haven't bothered to even suggest replacement for a new oven (it's a double oven BTW).

Requesting Service via the website doesn't work at all. In all cases using the website the providers did not contact me. Calling in for service via telephone works better, but the wait time is generally over a 30 minutes. In one case I gave up and made an appointment with a different provider and paid for it my self. Generally speaking OneGuard is turning out to be more trouble than it's worth.

This relates to all warranty companies. Here’s the deal. The short of it is, Put your money in you own account and use it when you need repairs done. Warranty companies will fix your 20 year old HVAC system with band aids til they have to pay for a new system. But the best part is when you do need the replacement you’ll still be paying thousands of dollars for all the code upgrades and all the extras the contractor deems necessary. Example: my Air Conditioner coil needed to be replaced. The warranty company covers the part and labor (about $500-$70 copay). Then I have to pay an additional $1700 for all the code Upgrades and extra items they don’t cover. So after paying about $840 a year for the warranty, I would have saved money by not having to pay for the warranty company for the year. In the past 13 years, paying $60-70 per month for the warranty contract, this amounts to $720-$840 a year. Multiply that for the 13 years I have used them, my total cost is $8320-$10920. I have used them for service for my oven, a couple of ceiling fans, my sprinkler system, and my water heater (out of pocket cost $1300). So do the math, I would have been much better off saving my money in a maintenance account and used it when I had an issue then to pay a warranty company to hire out bottom feeders to fix my stuff. There are many limitations in the contract and many unseen costs that they will not mention because it is from the contractor and not the warranty company. We stayed with one guard for so long because we haven’t had any big issues and it seemed like a good deal. Once we had some bigger issues recently has really put the spotlight on the large drawbacks to using any warranty company.

Chimney sweep turned into over $2000. They said I needed all kinds of things ASAP. Didn’t clean out old ashes and residue when they were finished. I felt taken advantage of. The inspector said I needed a new cap. It was rusted out. The man who came out disagreed and just sprayed it with black spray paint. He told me the small cracks inside fireplace could cause fire and needed to be sealed. I feel the amount they charged plus the tip I made was just way too much.

They sent an electrician out who was supposed to check for several electrical issues I just started having on one side of my house. He didn't check anything other hen the breaker box, an outlet, and exhaust vent. He said that since the ceiling fan lights weren't buzzing right then he had no way to check them but still missed everything else I requested. It seems to me that there is a major problem and he couldn't be bothered to check it out properly. He told me that my laundry exhaust vent probably had a bad motor but had power to the outlet. Then he told them it had been bypassed. Common sense says it wouldn't have power then. Then they said they were told that it had been tampered with and I said no I took pictures of it though which I had shown the electrician. Then they said that because I took pictures of it they wouldn't cover it. I explained that the electrician had lied about everything but they said that to get a 2nd opinion I had to find a company on my own and if they said something different all they would cover would be the trip charge, not even the repair. I looked up the part number from the label on the vent and ordered a new exhaust fan. I plugged it in and it worked just fine. I didn't install it or anything, I plugged it in and flipped the switch and it came on. I called the warranty company back and their response was now I have tampered with it so they still wouldn't cover it. I said that it just proved their contractor lied to them and told me the truth. A supervisor called me back and was supposed to let me know what was going to be done. That was a week ago and I haven't heard anything since. I'm also waiting to hear back about being able to cancel my contract. This is the worst company I could have ever signed up with.

My first few claims were GREAT!! But then they denied TWO pool repairs based on them being pre existing, even though I have the plan with pre existing coverage. I didnt get a pool inspection, so now NOTHING with my pool will be covered, even though I purchased a pool warranty. They refused to give me back my payment for the pool warranty and promised to return my $75 fee- which never happened.

The worst experience ever with One Guard. Have never been passed around from different sections than with One Guard. Three weeks without an refrigerator ridiculous. They had an excuse for everything, never being able to get a truthful answer. Each section passed the buck and blamed another section for the delay. Their promise to work quickly was a farce. I was never able to talk with someone in charge. I was told I had to contact them by email. I will never recommend One Guard to anyone. I live in a community where people are always looking for home warranty companies. I will warn them about One Guard whenever I can. If I could rate with 0 stars I would. Enough said, not a OneGuard fan. I will post bad One Guard review on Yelp, Google and every review I find.

Well you have to wait at least an hour in the phone to talk to someone. An air conditioning company was to come here today between 4-7 but never showed up nor called. I tried to call warranty but we're closed . Now I have to wait until morning to see what happened with the air guys.

It’s not often you find such caring, knowledgeable and compassionate people like her working for a challenging business with customers around the world. She has done the upmost for myself and my family. I’m so thankful for her as part of your team when things become misunderstood with customer service. It’s worth it for the peace of mind. The iPhone app is easy for service requests. However, It can be extremely challenging at times to get approvals for certain services even though they are listed as covered items in the contract details. Moreover, frequently when the technician goes to the house for a service call repair and submits the repair work order to OneGuard there is always some additional charge or a part that’s not approved that requires significant additional out of pocket expenses in addition to the $69 service call and a $600+ annual contract fee and this is very frustrating. The bottom line is even with those challenges I like OneGuard enough to keep renewing my 2 properties going on my 5th annual renewal.

I signed up for this plan about six months ago and I must admit I was a little scptical but I am so glad I got it. This was the first timed I needed to use the service I was truly impressed on how easy it was to schedule an appointment. The serviceman was very friendly on time. The problem was diagnosed and the parts were ordered and two days later they were here to install/repair my refrigerator.

OG S is a 10 out of 5-star employee. He was honest, polite, professional & a problem solver over several home features. Thank you Suggestion, One Guard appliance service list should include a wine cooler unit. OG S searched his records & could not find service for a wine cooler unit.

So far had good experience! I did an online request for service and got a response the next day! I was able to make the appointment with a service company they sent me which was professional and courteous! The technician was very friendly and knowledgeable when he came to check the dish washer. They resolved my issue the same day. OneGaurd was quick to take action which I appreciate!

I was shopping for a plan when OneGuard came up on Facebook. I called and received a voicemail, but as soon as I hung hip, Lori E called back. I immediately liked her genuine personality, and her knowledge of the product. She answered all my questions and I appreciated the fact that she didn't try to "hard sell"the product. I like the straight forward terms of the policy and I believe there won't be the hidden exclusions I experienced with the other company. Hopeful this will be a company I can rely on for years.

They have always been responsive to any claim we have ever filed in every case they have immediately assigned a contractor who also immediately set an appointment came to the home and completed the repair the best benefit they do have is the semi annual air conditioning start ups and heat start up pricing

They called in both cases to make sure everything was working well afterward, a nice gesture that showed they care about customer satisfaction. We had been without 1 of our AC's for a week and when the company came to replace the original part, they found another one that needed to be replaced as well.
