The men that can out were very nice, but it just took too long to get the part and get back here to repair it. Also when I had to get a new Dryer a few months ago,I went on and got the dryer . Then Choice Warranty sent me a gift card and I could not use the gift card to pay off my bill. I had to wait til I needed things from Lowes to use it and take my money to pay for the dryer. Repairing my Ice maker was done the first time. Very knowledgable man

My experience has been mixed. They are responsive to sending out techs. But, some of the techs are better than others. Some techs have no idea how to do advanced troubleshooting. Other techs are very skilled and know how to define a problem with an appliance. I recommend doing research on the company that they are attempting to send out before you actually allow the tech to come to your home. This prevents you from wasting money on the trade call fee to the tech.

Pretty much everything is painful with Choice home warranty. The only part that works well is submitting a claim on-line. After that you are on your own. After having a number of claims to submit, NOT ONCE did Choice even pretend to find a contractor to come out and attend to my issues. The owner MUST TAKE THE CHANCE of trying to find a contractor that is honest, reliable, available, etc. Once the contractor is on site, the on-line form must be filled out by them, and they are supposed to wait until someone at Choice reviews the record and gets back to them to go ahead with the repair. Sure, it's a great idea to keep an expensive and hard-to-get professional to just hang around your home for hours (or next day) for that response. So, they do the repair and you hope for the best. This last time the declined to process the claim saying there were pictures required. Would have been nice to know before hand!!! The response was that it had been repaired incorrectly before and was declined!!!! It has never been repaired before. Now I have to APPEAL!!! Then, you must wait 2-3 weeks before the claim will be reimbursed (hopefully...). I have used 4 other home warranty companies - ALL were MUCH better than Choice. I do NOT recommend them.

I have had Choice Home Warranty for about 7 years. They contact the service companies and with in a few days my problem is fixed. The $45. service call is reasonable. Definitely recommend Choice.

So far my experience with choice is not been a very good one. My dryer went out and it took them a week and a half to fix that a simple heating element that should’ve been done in a day. Second my furnace went out on a Saturday and come to find out that all it needed was a new thermostat, but Joyce closes at 5 PM and the technician didn’t arrive until 6:30 PM, which I had to get on my own because they cannot find anyone in the area that could service it. So when it was serviced, they said they contacted the technician, which I verify they never did and they denied the claim. I have a case manager assigned now and then have a phone call with him tomorrow December 20, 2020. If I get satisfaction I’m going to cancel that in three years I just re-up with him. So far my experience of choice is not been the greatest.

The customer service from Choice could be better. When dealing directly with them they really act like they don't really care or have any want to help. The technician and contractors they do finally send out are very professional and helpful. And I overheard a conversation between technician and Choice. Definitely not professional from the Choice people.

The first plumbing company that showed up provided an extremely high price for the repair. After the frustrating and difficult escalating process with Choice, they sent a different plumber. The second plumber (handyman) was very fair, replaced both valves in about an hour once he got the authorization from Choice, and he did it for a reasonable price and I only paid the $60.

well, they are a lot like every other warranty company. sometimes they will authorize fixing things, and sometimes not. they werent going to authorize fixing my washing machine. so when i called them about it, and threatened to cancel, then all of a sudden they were all over it. also, i dont always like the companies they deal with, and it seems to take an awful long time to get parts in.

Read the contract - the rules favor Choice. Section F9 says: We have the sole right to determine whether a covered system or appliance will be repaired or replaced. We are responsible for installing replacement equipment of similar features, capacity and efficiency... (This seemed pretty clear to me - they would install similar equipment) Section F16 says: We reserve the right to offer cash back in lieu of repair or replacement in the amount of Our actual cost (which at times may be less than retail) to repair or replace any covered system, component or appliance. (Wait a minute, now they say they give cash back in lieu of installing similar equipment. This doesn't sound good) Bottom line - my Jenn-Air microwave died and the "cash back in lieu" offer was $249 (I was told this is Choice's cost for a replacement unit) with no provision for installation. So, I had to buy the replacement, arrange for installation and pay about $223 out of pocket. I guess I should be happy the warranty covered about half the cost of a replacement, but it sure doesn't match what they say in Section F9: We are responsible for installing replacement equipment of similar features, capacity and efficiency... Like I said, read the rules, all of them.

Hello Team CWH, The service men came, identified the problem, got the part, installed it and did a great job. They were professional, on time and wore their masks. You could not have asked for more. I can't say the same for my Choice warrantee. When you sign up for a home warrantee, you look at what is covered in general terms and see that there is a variety of potentially good coverage. I did not look at the details of exclusions. It seems the exclusions make the policy. When your heating system is covered then the whole house humidifier should be covered as it is an integral part of the heating system. It makes the whole system function better. Looking at the policy details, I see far too many exclusions. So much so that I am considering cancelling the policy and asking for a refund for the remaining policy term. Waiting for your reply. There is no accountability, direct or otherwise, where personnel in a position to assess and in fact to make a decision are available. Also, there might be a need on the company part to better screen potential subcontractors for their performance and reliability.

They cover most small things but allot isn't covered for needed parts. I had my ac condenser taken out and cleaned and they covered it but didn't cover the $150 of freon to get put back in. Then my heater coil was burnt out and they covered replacement completely.

I used to like Choice home warranty, until I had a problem with my boiler/ zone system.... CHW could not find anyone to accept the call.... when I called 5 Heating/ cooling businesses myself, ALL of them said they would not accept home warranty calls due to them NOT PAYING! I got a technician here myself, and luckily it was a simple fix, but still cost me $89. When I tried to submit the Bill, it was a nightmare, and required the technician to jump through hoops while they were here!!! It would have taken an additional half hour for the technician to deal with this. I’m not so certain home warranties are worth it

I like the home warranty service, but I need to have my appointment set up at a time that is convenient for me, since I'll be out of town from the 9-27 and I can't leave a fridge that may go out while I'm gone. I've contacted you twice about this & it still hasn't been changed to a date before the 9th. I don't have the money to pay for the repairs & wait for your reimbursement. This is the one thing I don't like about it.

This last refrigerator tech was very knowledgeable and experienced. He and his fellow tech went right to work removing all items from freezer and fridge after completely and clearly explaining the cause of my overly chilling and freezing of refrigerated foods. They removed backplate from freezer to check coils and repositioned fridge shelves to insure proper cooling and temperature in fridge. I very much appreciated John’s expertise but requested he speak softer a few times. His voice volume was very loud and hurtful to my ears in the small space the 3 of us occupied.

In my experience with choice Home warranty, with a heating element in a dryer, or a Dishwasher, they will replace it. However, with something larger like an air conditioner they will automatically deny coverage. I was told that the issue with my air conditioner was not normal wear and tear. Who decides that? Regardless I called back complained and I got partial coverage. That tells me, this is more of a policy they have rather than an understanding of what normal wear and tear is. It is even more frustrating, because it adds days (in my case a week) onto the repair of an air conditioner in the middle of a summer in Houston, Texas. If you are worried about small-ish appliances, you may break even with the $500 a year plus $65 visit, but I doubt it. I would not recommend choice Home warranty, not even to my worst enemies.

Choice has been quick and comprehensive on our claims except for the first one. Our dishwasher had to be replaced and we had to negotiate to get an acceptable amount. Otherwise, they have stepped up and done full coverage on other claims. We just had our fan motor for HVAC replaced with no problem.

Purchased two Choice Home Warranty five year contacts for both properties. Rate: $2275 + $1750 = $4025. Service Call Fee: $45. Coverage Plan: Total Plan. Have only used one contract for a Above the Stove Microwave which discontinued heating. Filed claim. Paid technician $45 for Service Call. Microwave repaired and worked for just over a month. Discontinued working again. Had to file another claim. Pay again $45 Service call because was not within 30 days. Technician determined Microwave could not be repaired and needed replacement. Choice Home Warranty paid us a check $330.00 to help replace it. Built in Cabinet Microwave and Installation from Lowe’s cost us a lot more. Other home have not been so fortunate. Have had issues with Choice Home Warranty not wanting to cover repair or replacement of Hot Water Heater, Refrigerator and Garbage Disposal. Am unhappy with Choice Home Warranty and regret purchasing contracts!

Choice provides quick response for the claims. The techs are attentive and most of the time accommodating. Sometimes the wait for an appointment is longer than appreciated, but companies work with you to adjust the timeline. Overall, happy with the coverage.
