At this point I cannot give a positive review about Choice Home Warranty. I submitted a claim. The next week I was notified by CHW of the time and date of the service provider coming to my home. The following week I received a call from the service provider stating that the appointment set by CHW was not good and I was scheduled for the following week. When the service tech arrived he evaluated the situation and determined I need a part to rectify the problem with the refrigerator. He told me he would submit the request to CHW, and if approved, CHW would order the part. I would then be notified when the work would be completed . He estimated that this could take 3-4 weeks. So, by the time I reported the problem until the problem will be resolved could take up to a total of 6-8 weeks. To me, this is not an acceptable time frame. Alan Freeman

I am disappointed with Choice. When I first signed up, the representative deducted the entire annual amount from my account without my permission. That was strike one. I have not had to use the service until now, but when I called, the appointment they scheduled was more than a week later! The technician was excellent, but Choice was not. After scheduling the appointment I realized I had a second plumbing issue and wanted to add that to the visit. When I called Choice to amend the visit, the recorded voice said it would be a long wait and offered to keep my place in line and call me back when a representative was available. I opted for the call back. No one called and when I called back they were closed! I reached a representative the next morning and she said she added the new problem to the visit, but it was not communicated to the technician who had to make calls himself before he could proceed. This was strike two for Choice with me. Not sure I will renew for strike 3.

Wish the time could be more focused. I took off work four hours and his arrival time I could have stayed at work. On another note the response to my request was so fast I was shocked. I have heard from others how it took weeks to get something assessed. So I was truly happy.

Other than the length of time from the initial call for service to the time service was rendered,(2 weeks),, CHW has fulfilled its obligation. However,, The Technician (Sean) that came out was excellent, I would recommend Power Electrical & Design to anyone needing an electrician. Very professional and knowledgeable.

The Responders when queried were quick, decisive and pro-active.. I filled out a claim at 7:30 am MST and received confirmation within 1/2 hr. 40 minutes later a contractor called to set up and appointment. Wow!

First off my first few experiences were not great as once I called a tech over they said that is wasn't covered under the warranty, (wobbly toilet and toilet flange). Second when I had renewed the sales rep put me in the wrong category even though I paid for it and they said it was the ultimate and when I needed a repair done I found out that my appliance wasn't covered due to an internal error. When I tried to resolve it and asked them to call me back, they rarely did so I did the calling. But with this last service they actually sent a better tech than I had for the past two.

On 03/27/2021, we filed a claim due to our washing machine making a loud noise when operating. On 03/31/2021 a repair technican came to our home and advised the transmission in our washing machine needed to be replaced. He recorded the noise for Choice Warranty to make an evaluation of our situation. He related due to the age of the washing machine it was highly likely Choice Warranty would choose to replace the washing machine. On 03/31/2021, we were advised Choice Warranty had decided to replace the washing machine instead of replacing the transmission in our inoperable machine. Choice Warranty emailed an offer of $350.00 in the form of a Lowe's eGift Cards based on our current system's features and capacity, to select the system of our choice. Upon accepting the offer of $350.00 we were advised the Lowe's eGift Card would arrive within the next 30 days. Later on 03/31/2021, we contacted Choice Warranty to advise we were unsuccessful in finding a washing machine at Lowe's comparable to ours that would not take at least two weeks for delivery. However, we were successful in finding a washing machine at Home Depot and Best Buy which was available for delivery within 72 hour. Therefore, we were requesting just a Gift Card which could be used at Home Depot, Best Buy or any other appliance store. Choice Warranty advised the $350.00 eGift Card could only be issued for Lowe's and if we chose to purchase a washing machine from some other establishment we could do so, but Choice Warranty would not issue a eGift Card towards the washing machine replacement from any other establishment. To date, 04/11/2021 nearly two weeks later, "we have not received the $350.00 eGift Card" which could only be used at Lowe's. Therefore, we had to purchase a washing machine for $800 "without the assistance of Choice Warranty." When a customer is without a major appliance such as dishwasher, washing machine stove, refrigerator or dryer it is inconceivable Choice Warranty would expect their customers to wait for 30 days to replace a major appliance and have the audacity to dictate where the replacement appliance has to be purchased. We have two home warranties with Choice Warranty (one on your major resident and summer home in Va Beach which we pay in full yearly. Someone reading this may say we could afford to replace the washing machine without having the $350.00 promised by Choice Warranty. The money is not the key issue here. Dictating where the replacement item has to be purchased and taking 30 days to provide the funds to replace a major item is unacceptable. If we had absolutely needed the $350.00 to replace our washing machine we would have been using a laundromat for the past two weeks which is unacceptable. We will not be renewing our two homeowner warranties when they expire with Choice Warranty Company.

They can never find a tech in my area and then they offer me the option for reimbursement and then I have to call around to find one that will agree to submit a claim for me. But once the tech submits a claim the authorization is quick but then I have to wait for 30 days to get my money back.

Two different claims placed in; turned to three, and 3 different service fees. After everything was "done"(which was nothing besides the same trouble shooting I had done), the two main claims were both denied without logical reasoning. The technicians- very curtious and seemed knowledgeable. The CHW company support and customer service- sub-par. Not feeling very impressed with the services and I've purchased a 6 yr contract? Think I'll have to reconsider, and get my money back. I can't recommend the company in good conscience unless I see a significant turn around. 2 for 2! Third time is the charm :/

I’m pleased with the most part, the monthly fee and how creditable their tech are who respond to the job. I know CHW hasn’t paid for big items like my air conditioner and hot water heater, that I had to pay for replacement of both brand new . CHW did give me a few hundred back on hot water heater.

My second experience was a nightmare and had me skeptical about continuing to refer my family and friends. My appointment time was from 1-4 and around 4:45 I received no update as to why the technician was not at my home or communicated with me. I had to call and customer service was not helpful. The technician showed up at 8:00 and did not complete the full order because he claims he didn't know he had to fix two breakers. He said he would come around 9am but showed up around 1 pm still no communication. Not even a month later same issue with one of the breakers. I called March 1 st to have someone come back out. Another service fee. I asked for a higher level supervisor to call me.... I'm still waiting. So the last technician came out and showed me that the last technician did not replace the breaker. I watched him do everything and heard him report to Choice that the previous technician did nothing he said he did. Had he done his job, I would not be paying another service call. Right now Choice gets a 2 star. DW electric gets 5 star. Now I'm still waiting on my phone call.

Thus far, not much. My first claim .....the technician did not keep appointments. I hired my own which went well. The problem is with the reimbursement. I was expecting $159.20. I received $114.50 I am still owed $ 44.70 I submitted an invoice in the amount of $224.70. less 65.00 amount due me is $159.20. Please pay the difference of $44.70. The electrician was wonderful, The issue was the long wait from filing to date of repairs.

I dislike that there is no “Sense of Urgency” by the staff to get a technician to the customer in a reasonable time frame. I have had several claims that a technician jumped on the notice and then scheduled the appointment more than a week out. In the meantime the customer is without the use of the insured product. The reason we have Choice is to minimize our repair costs and get prompt service. Choice does not have”prompt” in their vocabulary.

The plumber was excellent. I did have trouble getting the system to assign a plumber in a timely manner. I had to call in and get him myself. The phone wait wasn't bad and the employees were responsive. My only issue was not be informed that a plumber hadn't been found and had to wait two days and call in myself.

It worked for me. When no technicians from choice warranty are able take my request, choice warranty asked me look for my own technician to fix my heating issue. If the repair is covered under warranty they would reimburse the cost. Technician was able to submit diagnostic and got decision less than 10min. It was smooth transaction.

Happy with the Service sent;however,it took 15 days for Choice Warranty to have a tech come to the house in the city of Madison AL.There was no Heat hvac in 17 degrees weather & 57 degrees in the house as Grandparents we considered an emergency. Choice to have more priority with it's choice of Techs.

I have not used the service yet but was asked to write a review. My call to customer service to learn what services were offered was very uncomfortable. The sales person repeatedly read from the same script and didn’t appear to be able to speak off script. Each time he would end his phrase he would repeat “and let’s get you signed up today”. I told him to stop and that he was being too pushy. I wanted questions answered and he just continued the script. I am trying the service based on the reviews and coverage. The sales people need to relax and work with a possible customer, not force you into buying.
