I have been with Choice Home Warranty for a number of years. When speaking with others about their home warranty services, make me want to shop around. I dislike the wait for approval then the wait for parts. Last year I had to have my hot water heater replaced. Choice did not cover the entire replacement and the company the sent out did not put the pan underneath the hot water heater. They were suppose to come back but they never did. Another time I did a claim and the person smelled liked they had been drinking and he couldn't find a problem. So I had to call another company and they figured out that it was thermostat. And Choice did not extend any help with the other service call.

I had a microwave go out. Choice offered me $191 refund for a new microwave. They said it would take 4-5 weeks to get the check.....In this day and age to get a check written and sent that takes 4-5 weeks is ridiculous when money transfers in minutes electronically...Wonder how many in-baskets the claim sits and for how long....RIDICULOUS....PS... I am a realtor and do alot of business.....get the point!

CHW is very convenient but sometimes assigns work to companies that are not BBB affiliated and needs to make sure that those companies that works with them are trustworthy so that customers won't feel left out due to those companies that did the job didn't do it correctly.

This was recommended to us by our realtor. However, when I submitted my first claim for our microwave, I discovered that the door is not covered. The door to a microwave is a key element in it's operation. The amount we paid for the coverage, to date, has been a waste of money. The initial call was handled with care and immediate follow-up by a technician. The technician was the individual that told me that it probably wasn't covered. I'm very disappointed that I spent over $500.00 for this coverage and the first claim isn't covered. I know I'll get it's printed in the brochure and you're right, it is printed in the brochure, but I think it should be more visible and pointed out that major items on appliances like doors, are NOT covered. Probably won't renew the coverage moving forward.

Called choice home warranty for a follow up they told me that he would be there today at 11:30 called again no service provider had contacted me as of yet. Later that day I was called by service provider at about 130. He did show up

The first tech you sent out blew out the fuse in the microwave and he never came back to fix it. He didn’t know what broke!!! The Sears tech was great he knew exactly what happened and fixed it immediately. Very professional.

Choice Home Warranty does a good job of getting technicians out to your house. My only complaint is that sometimes the technicians are lazy and just want to collect the $65. However, I just request a new technician and CHW sends me a new one.

My experience has been mixed. Choice assigned a washer repair job on 11/5/20 that will be completed (I hope) 2/24/21 after a comedy of errors and five visits. Choice also assigned a heating problem job on 12/24/20 that was not completed by 2/12/21 after three visits. On 2/12/21, Choice reassigned the heating job to a new local contractor and it was completed within a few hours with the help of my neighbor.

I needed water heater repaired. CHW arranged this. I was given a date for five days later. The day of the appointment I waited home all day and when no one showed I called the vendor , who told me the date was made by CHW and was not available. They said they left a message, which I never received. I was rescheduled for three days later. I called CHW and they blamed they plumber . I was without hot water. for 8 days. When this contract is expired I will shop around!

My service request was answered fast but I was sent a technician that did not properly finish the job. When I sent a request letting CHW about this, I was told that I would have to make another service request and pay another service fee for the technician to come and correct what he did not do right in the first place. I think that is totally unfair. I am very displeased. Also when I purchased my home warranty, I was not told that it did not include my washer and dryer.

i used the phone service to file claim spoke man in India told him i had a broken spring on my garage door he kept saying garage door opener . I kept correcting him and he filed the claim. The tech came out and filed with CHW claim was denied because springs are not covered. I feel if i had access to an American customer service person they would have understood the problem and explained it was not covered. I have filed an appeal and requested my $65 back . Before this they have been ok on the claims we shall see. Just renewed my contract before this one hope i dont regret it. I want use phone service again.

I’m very disappointed Zion came out to fix my dryer he came and didn’t fix my dry my dry was still not drying so I call him to let him know that the dry it still not drying he never responded to my call I left him a message, so I had to feel out another work order and had to pay another 75$ for the second time Thomas Appliance came out and fix the problem in 5 min Zion didn’t turn on the thermostat

So far, I'm a little dissapointed with the customer service after my purchase. I have contacted and been contacted several times today and still do not have a solid, in writing answer to my very simple question. I see in the policy tht I was sent, that the exclusions for water heater include units over 75 gallons. Mine is 80 Gallons. 5 differenent people with 3 different answers leaves me a bit unsure of how well I will be covered or taken care of in a situation where I thought this policy would protect me. Last contact told me he would have the answer he verbally gave me emailed to me in 30 min. It has been 3 hours and too late to call back today. Complete waste of my time, and all I wanna know is if I am coveredor not, and if so, where does it say that, cause based on the verbiage in the contract I was sent, my heater is not covered. This is no bueno for me, as this is a major system in my household, that if something were to happen to, and I was not covered, would be a big out of pocket expense. This is something that should have been explained before selling me the policy. The last answer I got(verbally)after talking to the gentlemean at teh resolution center is that I have teh "golden policy", which i assume means teh total plan, so my water heater is covered, but alas I still do not have that confirmation in writing. Would someone please let me know a solid answer so we can see if there needs to be an alteration made to the policy or not?

We filed a claim 4 garage doors that wouldn't open on Saturday. It is now Tuesday, and we still don't have a contractor assigned. The company suggest that we hire our own contractor to send them a diagnosis, we pay for the procedure to correct the problem, and they will reimburse us. This doesn't sound like the service that I was promised when I signed a contract with Choice Home Warranty.

You do respond, but its 3 days to get service. I just had a plumbing leak repaired by a non plumber. The next day we had no hot water, again 3 days. The leak took 2 weeks to get someone then you send me a guy with out tools,so I got to pay double for a simple leak. I would like a response from your company. I do know, your company doesn't care "get someone else" as a response from your people.

The representative who renewed my policy was very short in his tone and did not seem open to additional questions. You do received rather abrupt and canned messages if your claim has been denied, though the company's rationale behind the denial is understandable. Still, for those claims that have been approved, we've been quite satisfied.

The guys were friendly, but I had to wait nearly all day for the appointment originally set for the morning. They did call to say they would be an hour late which actually turned out to be "hours" later. Fortunately, I had no other appointment for the day. Before they left the trouble was 100% resolved with no other issues.

Our initial encounter with CHW was somewhat rocky when we submitted our first claim. Fast forward to our recent claim for a broken pool heater, CHW made the arrangements for service and was able to get our pool heater issue resolved. CHW was quick to respond and service was seemless.

Cannot get through on phone to place a claim. Did online and waited more than a week for a technician to be here to fix the problem. Technician called to get authorization to fix the whole problem and issue I was having he waited here over and hour and half and could get anyone to return his call from Choice to approve the repair. Very unprofessional of Choice not to resolve the issue while I had a technician here.

The men that can out were very nice, but it just took too long to get the part and get back here to repair it. Also when I had to get a new Dryer a few months ago,I went on and got the dryer . Then Choice Warranty sent me a gift card and I could not use the gift card to pay off my bill. I had to wait til I needed things from Lowes to use it and take my money to pay for the dryer. Repairing my Ice maker was done the first time. Very knowledgable man
