My refrigerator stopped working, they had tech out in two days, he said the unit was not worth fixing it would cost $400-500, he was advising CHW to replace the unit. They got back to me the same day and offered me $500. I explained the refrigerator was a stainless steel front and counter depth unit. They said they only replace with generic units the same Cu. Ft. They do not consider the finish or the size and they said I could buy a refrigerator the same Cu. Ft. size for $500 to $ 600. I was told when I signed the agreement they would replace what I had,,, NOT TRUE. It will cost me $1000 out of pocket to replace what I have. If it was a water heater or heating system I would not care, but an appliance in my kitchen I do care. Let them repair not replace.

This is my first time having to use CHW and it was the best experience. Making an appointment was so easy. Technician came on time. Technician was knowledgeable, courteous, professional AND fixed everything in about 30 minutes. The only way this could have gone better would be if I never had the problem!

It was a pain to get my Maytag washer repaired/replaced. I called for service because my washer doesn’t drain except at very low levels. After two separate technicians came and reached the same conclusion that the transmission needs to be repaired, l was told there is nothing wrong because I called for drainage and not for transmission. I have to pay for another service call to fix transmission. I had to call numerous times to argue that I am not a technician and could not know the transmission was the cause of the washer not working. It is still not working. Finally a third technician came without charging me a second service fee. He reached the same conclusion as the first two technicians that the transmission needs to be repaired. I received an offer of $349 to replace my washer. It was impossible to find a similar Maytag washer for $349. But with the horrible experience I had to get this far, I accepted the offer. I bought a Maytag washer on sale yesterday for $700, double the amount of settlement. I am very disappointed with your service and settlement.

Tuesday - I notified CHW of my furnace not working; then immediately emailed that a tech would contact me within 24 hours; less than 24 hours they contact me to let me know they didn't have a tech in my area and that I could get my own tech and use the reimbursement program; Wednesday - I contact my tech, he tried to call the authorization department but said he was left on hold; Thursday - tech tried to call AD and again was left on hold Friday night - tech said he tried 2 times but kept getting left on hold in excess of 20 min and had to hang up. Saturday morning - I called CHW and told them that I had to have a furnace we were having very cold nights and I had been without a furnace for days. She said tech had to go through AD - I told her the situation. She placed me on hold and called the tech, connected the AD; I spoke with Tech shortly after and he said he finally got approval and would be there by 12-1 - 1:00 on Saturday my furnace was fixed. I received an email from CHW stating a i would receive a reimbursement within 30 days CHW was very responsive but the Authorization Department was very hard to deal with and techs do not have time to sit on the phone of hours waiting on approval as they are losing money - otherwise CHW did great job

I am not a fan of Choice Home Warranty and apparently the vendors they use are not either. It would take 2 days to a week before Choice could find someone to come fix my problem. I had one company tell me Choice would not cover my problem with my AC unless I paid them first to do a yearly maintenance, which cost me $250 plus the Choice Home Warranty fee, final cost $295. On a another occasion, my sewer drain was clogged, it took CHW several days to find a plumbing company to take on this problem, when a technician did show up, it took him only 30 minutes to correct the problem, but his boss that was with him, told me my sewer line was busted, it was going to cost me $5000 to fix the problem because CHW would not cover this problem again, plus this man threw his garbage from his truck onto the street in front of my house, I did not spend the $5000 and I haven’t had an issue with my sewer drain, since that issue, it’s been two years. Every time I used my warranty, whoever they sent, would always want extra monies for this and that. I had one company tell me that they were ending their contract with CHW, because they couldn’t get their money from CHW. I only used them maybe 3-4 times during the 2 year period and there was only one time, a technician came and did his job without trying to con me out of extra monies.

I would highly recommend CHW. They have promptly repaired/ replaced 3 items. The policy has paid for itself twice. The customer service is great and quick. The repair company they use is quick, professional and do good work. I will probably renew the policy. It’s a great piece of mind.

I have been a member for over a year now and have just submitted my first 2 claims in the last 45 days. Both have been on a microwave mounted over the stove. Both claims were handled very timely and professionally. The first was a quick repair - in and out and a $45 service fee. All good. This current claim has not worked as well. The technician said that the circuit board is fried and needs to be replaced. The company said that the part is not available and made a cash offer for me to do it myself. The initial offer of $169 was way too low to replace the GE microwave and have it installed. The warranty as advertised says to Repair or Replace. It did not say that I would have to replace with a partial offer of the replacement cost. After some discussion, the company did increase their cash offer to $300. That may or may not replace the microwave with a similar quality oven. It will not cover the cost of instillation or the fact that I now have to arrange for this myself. That is a big part of why I took the insurance. So...most of my experience has been good. I now question my decision to pay for 5 years worth of warranty up front.

Good experience with my resolution person assigned to my claim in that she called me on the weekend, which is important because I am leaving on a cruise on the Monday. Unfortunately she was only able to offer me half of what it is costing me to replace the washer which is only 4 years old. It's for a condo so it's a very specific size and only this model will fit. Also it's very difficult to communicate with the employee you get on the phone when you are first calling to make a claim. They sound very far from here and do not seem to completely understand what I am trying to communicate, which leads to some incorrect information on my claim. This is my first year as a customer (with two properties), so I am getting used to the way it works.

It’s very easy to file a claim. Within minutes I got confirmation and acknowledgment of dispatch to service provider. Appointment was preset at that time. I did reschedule for another day with ease. Service provider came on time and completed the work. CHW provided great service. I have two of my homes cowered with CHW and love it.

I did end up purchasing the Choice Home Warramty. Seemed like the best option and at a great price. Reason for 3 stars? An EXTREMELY pushy, borderline rude salesman. I hadn't even filled out the form all the way when my phone rang. Strike one. That ALWAYS irritates me. Give me a second to get through your questionnaire and look at my options before bombarding me with calls. Then once I was on the phone, I talked to the guy for a bit and then explained that I had to get off the phone as I was literally walking into a meeting. We were done with the transaction. He proceeds to not only interrupt me but continue talking after once, twice, three times of me saying "I have to go!". I finally pretty much hung up on him. We were done. I told him I wasnt interested in an upgrade. No I dont need to repeat the new policy number back to you, you just emailed it to me. Jeez, back off dude!

I just recently used Choice for the first time and filed 2 different claims. Both claims were answered quickly and a repairman was sent out with 1 or 2 days for entering the claim. On both occasions the repairmen were efficient and professional.

I was actually persuaded to sign up for a 5 yr. + 1 free year plan, which would have cost about half as much each year as a one-year plan. Full payment up-front was required, but it was to be refundable if I should chose to leave in 1,2, 3, etc. years. I was purchasing three policies. This sounded like a good deal, even though it was a big cost up-front, which I put on my credit card. However, the agent then did not reply to questions which I had asked him, even though I told him that I had to have those answers quickly. I then started checking around (your site may have been one place where I found some answers, but another was even better) and found a LOT of complaints about Choice which were a concern to me .... particularly statements from some about the actual value of the multi-year policies. It seems that he was misleading me there because those complaints stated that the refunds if one left in 2 or 3 years would be definitely not as expected ... that there would be no refunds at all after something like 3 years because Choice would charge the full yearly price for years used. That, and the fact that the agent completely dropped communication and did not answer my questions (and many complaints that Choice was very difficult to get answers from), caused me to cancel those three policies and request a refund in full (which did happen ... if not, I would have protested to my credit card company, and had evidence to support my claim.

First time I used them for our garbage disposal a technician can out and looked at it He said it needed replacing we gave him the $45.00 fee he left saying he will be back next day. Well he never came back I called Choise daily for 9days no one could contact this fellow Finally Choise sent out another company the Tecnhnician arrived promptly put in a new garage disposal and I didn’t have to pay another $45. So all in all at the end of the day I’m very happy with Choice. Only wished it did not take 9 days.

I have had good value from this company. The companies they sent to my home have been very polite and hard working. I have difficulty only when trying to schedule with one of their phone operators. Sometimes a situation is not a yes/no answer, if you know what I mean. Perhaps to avoid this in the future, I will just schedule online. I do believe Choice to be one of the best companies for home warranties.

First let me say that Tory T Plumber was courteous and did a fine job for me. I am completely satisfied with his service. Not so much Choice Home Warranty. First, after Mr. P's evaluation of my disposal unit leak and his determination that a replacement was required, it took more than an hour after he asked CHW for authority to purchase a new unit to install for me for CHW to provide such authorization - while he and I waited. More importantly, before the service call I asked CHW customer service for reviews of the technician as none were available online. I was told first that the only information CHW had on the technician is that he was "certified". When I asked "certified" by whom and for what, the agent was unable to give me any further explanation. His supervisor changed "certified" to "licensed and insured" - about the same information that I could have gotten about any plumber from the Yellow Pages. He had no further information to offer about the technician's skills, character, legal record or performance reviews. I asked about reviews from other CHW customers. The supervisor could only tell me that he had no record of any complaints. He also said that he had no record of any favorable reviews despite the fact that he told me that a survey (like this one) is sent after each call. I asked if survey results are noted on CHW's records for the technician or not. Since the survey makes no reference to the specific technician, apparently the answer is "NO". This survey is administered by a firm named Best Company which presumably has record of other surveys of this technician. However, neither the customer service agent nor his supervisor referred me to Best Company to answer my questions. All this leads me to conclude that CHW sends technicians into the homes of we customers with only the barest evaluation of their skills, character and reviews of their performance. I seem to have lucked out; others might not be so fortunate. For the almost $2,000 I paid to CHW, I expected them to do better than that in this regard!

Only concern was the company on site Rental Home Solutions wanted me to pay my co-pay over the phone before they even arrived at my home! I declined and they waited until he arrived. Woman on phone was pleasant but pressures going me to pay before he even arrived. Not acceptable to pay for a service and you don’t even know they will show up.

I’d like to rate choice a 5, the only thing holding me back is that when they told me who my service provider was they also said they would be there between 11 and 3. Then when the provider called me they said they would be there between 9 and 12. This caused some confusion but I got it squared away right away. Choice was very quick to put in my request, followed up with emails and I like the ability to track my claim. They were also very quick to offer me replacement value for my appliance. This was a great experience.

Another great response from CHW, the garbage disposal started leaking under the sink and I submitted a claim with the friendly staff. Within a short time I was scheduled for a technician to arrive and figure out the solution. Repairs were made and the house was back to normal.

Most company staff/customer support are courteous. There was an issue that we could not resolve. One other separate concern was a claim on a limited roof leak that the repair company Choice used did not show for the appointment nor contacted me. Choice did not follow up either after I made a couple of calls regarding this. I cancelled the claim for the possible roof leak as the the issue did not appear again and being no follow-up from Choice nor the repair company. If this did turn out to be a serious issue, it would have been concerning to say the least. Choice explained that they’d look into this issue further, but I did not receive any further information on it, even after calling about another claim 4 months later and discussing.

The technician was very nice a and attenyive. Hovever I called at 7am. At noon I still hadn't heard from anyone by 11:30. I had to call back to find out what was going on. The technician got to my house around 6pm. Tge warranty office was already closed by then and couldn't authorize the reoair. I had to wsit until the next morning around 9:30 for tge technician to come and fix my boiler. It worked for about 13 hours. I am now without heat again. It is the weekend and I sm playing ace as iting game again and can't call until after 9am because it isn't a new claimand we have a winter storm on the way and I have no heat! Turn around time to get gelp from Choice Home Warranty is too long!

When I placed my request, I received an e-mail telling me that there were looking for someone in my area and that I could find my own repair person and they would reimburse me. I was not happy about this, however, it was an option. To have to look for someone would take time away from other things I needed to do. Fortunately before I started researching names, I received a call and they had found someone to repair what I need and he came right away. I was pleased about that and got what I needed fixed.
