I am have been the loyal customer for American Home Shield since 2000. I am very happy AHS's service, The only bad experienced was in summer of 2016, American Home Shield has sent a very poor service company 6 times within 4 months trying to fixed my air conditioning. Finally due to my insistence for another service provider, they finally sent another company which properly diagnosed the problem and fixed my air conditioning in 2 visits. Still AHS was there to get the right provider who competently fixed my air conditioning problem.

We put in a request for our washer and dryer. The dryer is now working fine; however, the repair service person who came out for the washer had to return twice (we're fine with that) and said he had to order a part. That was three weeks ago. We're still waiting to hear from him when he will come back. We also had very slow service on a toilet issue we had in the past. It took the service person five days to come out and replace a small part. Why do these service calls take so long to happen? We worry that if our heating system or the air conditioner goes down, we will end up having to wait a long time for service. Can't these orders for repairs happen in a more timely manner???

We have had home shield for over a year now. Though some of the contractors they use are not the best, We have had more good experiences with them than bad. The worst was Gilbert Air in Az. They messed up our A/C install. We had very little A/C for the entire month of August. Comfort Conditioning cam in and corrected the issue..they were great! Home Shield stuck with us the entire time. I was in contact with the at LEAST 2 times a week. They showed empathy,and worked hard to fix our problem. I have had to use home shield a few times since then,we have always had a great customer experience.

As with all insurance policies, you hope you'll never need to use it. We did need to use our AHS policy and have really mixed feelings about it. The initial home visit was quickly scheduled, but of course, that was just the first visit to diagnose the problem. At the subsequent visit the following week, a determination was made that the micro/convection oven was irreparable. That's when the delays began. It was impossible to reach anyone by phone without a 2-3 hour wait. I had to wait twice before I could get even an idea of when the new unit would be delivered. In all, it was more than a month before I finally got a new microwave.

I have had very positive experiences with the services that I've received. Technicians arrived on time. They've been friendly and professional. The job has been completed in a very reasonable amount of time and whatever has been broken has been up and running without any further problems. The customer service is excellent. My only complaint is that there is a very long waiting time, (sometimes over an hour), before the representative answers my call.

I've been with AHS for 8 years now. When it comes to simple repairs they deserve a 5 star rating. Pay your $75 deductible and be done with it. It wasn't until one of my items needed replacing that the song and dance routine started. Horrible hold times to speak with someone, to be told that at first my item was not being replaced because of chemical damage then when I got a second opinion they said the gas line value wasn't big enough but no chemical damage. From what I found out through my investigation they give these repair companies guidelines and dollar amounts they can go up to. I guess it was a little much to expect them to cover a $2,900 pool heater that I am having to come out of pocket for. Yes, I stayed with them. I wished they would have been as loyal to me as I have been to them.

During a recent cold snap here in Texas, my furnace broke. I opened a ticket with AHS and was able to get service within 4 days. The interaction with AHS' website and follow up was painless and easy. I didn't have any issue at all with their payment or anything. The multiple day wait time was contractor specific, calendar or lower priority for warranty clients, so that was frustrating, but I'm still very happy with AHS.

The service representative was especially helpful explaining the problem and advising us of future steps we could take to prevent any additional problems in the future. The warranty program is great. I would rate the hold times to speak to a representative as a negative 10. As much money as ya'll receive, you would think that they would have enough customer service people to respond to your customers. I've been on hold from 30 min to over an hour. I just don't have that kind of time to be placed on hold. Not putting your customers first will always be a fail. I almost rated them a 5 out of 10, mainly because of this one issue, but I wanted to be fair to AHS. Thanks

Responsive 80% of time. Good service people, timely, and knowledgeable. I have had a contract w them for 4 years. The only difficulty we experienced was with a plumbing company that was dragging its feet to fix a tankless hot water heater. I complained and American Home Shield spoke to vendor, we got it fixed. It took almost 6 weeks.

I’ve had nothing but exceptional service from AHS....the only exception is the amount of time it takes to speak with a customer rep when I call for any reason. Usually on the plus side of 20 minutes to get anyone on the phone, but the companies they send out to do the repairs have been wonderful!

Until the latest experience involving our hot water heater, we had been very satisfied. The water heater experience was a total disaster on your part. We called in for an initial evaluation and found out several days later that it would be several days more yet, all of that time without hot water! We called another company and they came out that day and replaced it. AHS did send us a check for the heater, but the damage to us in lack of caring or immediate service cast a very dark shadow on our renewal of contract. As President Donald says. we will wait and see.

Sometimes it a long wait on hold but the reps are very courteous. I have only used my policy 2 times one was a complete success the other was a complete Disaster. But Homeshield rep took the time to listen to my issue and apologized, I wasn't offered my derive fee back after I used my own serviced provider but hey they listened to my issue and apologized.

After that, the contractors have always been prompt, courteous, professional and thorough. I am very happy with the quality of repairs and Home Shield's program. My refrigerator wasn't cooling. Called AHS they assigned a company to come out, the company was within the time they were suppose to be here. Fixed the problem maybe took half hour. My refrigerator has been cooling ever since. Very happy with the tech that was dispatched. Second time I've had to use AHS and have been very satisfied with the outcome of both. Relief to know that I don't have to put out a lot of money fix an appliance or purchase one. Wouldnt be without it.

Airconditioner quit working and AHS had Bestway come out. The guy was here checking the outside unit for not more than 5 minutes and said mold was in the "electrical contacts area" of the unit. There was no inside checking of settings or other work done. He did not leave a written summary of the problem or anything else. He seemed like has in a hurry to do somewhere else. Whatever he communicated to AHS caused AHS to reject the claim. I called AHS when nothing was happening after a few days and was informed of the rejection. I asked for a 2nd opinion and they sent out American. The technician took almost 45 minutes going over the unit, checking the inside settings and other things. He explained in English that are of the unit was not functioning as it should. After 2 days he returned and fixed the problem with AHS covering the fix for the malfunctioning unit. BOO for Bestway (Worstway), YEH for American, and YEH for AHS suggesting a second options.

I had good experience for both issues they both came out very quickly and were very knowledgeable on both issues fixed my problems the only problem I have with the company is you can never talk to anyone but if you put issue on line fast response.

My washer broke in Nov and it took about 6 weeks to have it repaired. The company who did the repair left a big mess in my laundry room. They threw some black stuff from the hose in my “clean” trash can and in my laundry tub. I had to soak the can and my laundry tub and then scrub with an abrasive soap to remove what I could. It stained the tub and trash can. Also, they left a lot of rancid water under my washer that apparently spilled all over my floor. They told me it would have to just evaporate over time. My laundry room still smells.

Blower on ac/heater went out, submitted workorder, repair company notified me within 5 hours, were fixing it the next day. Repairman very friendly and completed his work in a timely manner and haven't had any problems . recommend this company for any ac/heating problems.

I have not had to wait on hold like other critics because I filed my requests for service online. The companies chosen to fix my issue(s) have been less than stellar. I just had to purchase a new HVAC after three years of putting on bandaids through temporary fixes (often misdiagnosed), which cost me hundreds of dollars in refilling a unit twice with freon. AHS is known for finding the cheapest way out. I pay $625.92 per year and am wondering if it's worth it now for the next item to go out, such as a w/d or fridge. What I pay annually plus the deductible plus uncovered costs could be just as much.

We had occasion to use our warranty on an HVAC issue recently and it went well. Contact and initiation was good. Contractor was good and did the job to our satisfaction. Two things though: 1) I was just billed under threat of cancelation or lapse for the unpaid deductible. I never received a prior bill before the threat - neither paper mail or email - and didn't know we owed anything. That's bad form. 2) when I tried to call and inquire about it I had a 20 minute wait before a call center person who had no computer access answered. I asked to be transferred to another CSR but was told I had to start over and call back. That's stupid. I then called back and had a 30 minute hold before a CSR got on the line. The process was burdensome.

I have been a long time AHS customer and have been especially pleased with the technician we've had to have a couple of times. The company service team has responded quickly and with good customer friendliness. I am upset this year, though, because of what I feel was an unwarranted increase in our premium. I will reluctantly consider alternative options this renewal because I am on a fixed income and need to be cost-conscious.

The most recent experience I had was that my garbage disposal went out on me after Thanksgiving. I called in the order and before I knew it I had a service repair guy here and ended up actually having a new one replaced since it was burned out. Fast, brand new item and the repair guy was awesome!

I have been a customer for almost two decades. There are other warranty companies. I hear the complaints from other people about their chosen warranty provider and I know there is no perfect company. I still stick with AHS as I have weighed the good vs the not so good experiences and I feel good about my choice. Still better to have AHS on call than to not have them, just as it is best to have them over other warranty providers I hear of. My biggest knock on them would be trying to talk to a human when I want/need to. Isn't that a problem with every company in this day?

I think it's a great company but getting through to a human is ridiculous and the reason I don't use them anymore. I can't wait a min of 30 minutes to talk to someone. They're disorganized and growing faster than they can keep up. The service on any appliance I've had fixed has been wonderful and fast but the operations of the company needs to be revised.

Several companies that were used replace item of an inferior quality. Two examples are: my thermostat needed replacing and I was given a cheap replacement. My previous thermostat was digital with date & time. Another example was my garbage disposal was replaced with a cheaper model than what I had originally. Other service matters have been top notch with AHS.

I had a leaking Kitchen faucet in early June 2017 and AHS assigned Ken Tyler Plumbing who showed up 3 days later 3 hours late. he took the item apart and said he needed to get parts and would return the next day to finish the job.Ken Ty;er plumbing never showed up so I called them. never got any repose after 9 calls to him and weekly calls to AHS customer service. I filed a complaint with the BBB. I was lied to by AHS customer service and was probably on hold for at least 40 hours waiting foe service from them. Finally they assigned to Wilbanks Plumbing and the repairsa were completed in 32 hours the next day. I have had a warranty with AHS for over 10 years and this is the 1st issue i have ever had with them Usually they are spot on but there Customer Service and Vendor Sourcing need some serious improvements.If everything goes well you are OK with them but if you have a problem there Customer service ( when you can reach them without waiting hours ) is pathetic .They will lie to you and say whatever it takes to get you off the phone and then to nothing to correct the problem.Also to ahve a vendor like ken Tyler Plumbing is absurd to say the least of there judgement

It’s a very good warranty. Web/Mobile sites work very well when service is needed. Contractors offer prompt follow up and professi Neal service. I would give all this 4 Stars. However, contacting AHS is horrible. Only way to make contact is via phone and there are minimum 45 minute hold times! I stress minimum and at one point, it was 1 1/2 hours. There is no web contact. This needs serious improvement.

i bought a town home 8 weeks ago, today. the age of home is 20 yrs. since I moved in, i'm hearing 'drips,' inside the walls, in the master bathroom and in the guest bathroom, upstairs. and upstairs and downstairs when the dishwasher and the washing machine are on. it's not a steady drip and not all the time. i haven't seen any obvious signs of leaking water. the 2 tech's that came to my property (mid afternoon on Friday) were very friendly and nice. Dillon seemed/showed signs of concern for this appt. Nick was focused on primarily 1 thing; leaving for the day/weekend. they did a water pressure test and at the appointment closing and told me this was normal for the age of this home and nothing to be concerned about. i am almost embarrassed for tipping them ($20 apc), now, i just thought it was the right thing to do, which i will think twice about if and or when this happens in the future (with whomever).

My dryer went out and a rep contacted me within 24 hours to set the appointment. The company showed up on time and fixed the problem. Great service. Had I not had AHS I would have bought a new dryer considering mine is 19 years old. All I spent was the co-pay! The best money I ever spent. It’s a must have for everyone.
