At first the servie was great a service contractor was assigned and I thought the issue was taken care of. But after I discovered the issue had not been resolved and contacted AHS and had the ticket reopened it's been a week later and no one has been out to my home.

the plumber they sent immediately said he could not fix my clogged sink or toilet because they were tied together and would have to be snaked from the roof vent and AHS would not cover that. He didn't even look under the sink! I had to pay another plumber to come out. So $125 gone and $225 to the 2nd plumber. The 2nd plumber just snaked the sink and got it fixed. The toilet was a bit more work but no one had to get on the roof.

I have to call all the time just to get service. They don't have any service companies in the area that my rental properties are in. It has taken them 10 days to not get a tech and finally give me authorization for an outside vendor. It took 22 days on another property for authorization on an outside vendor, and I am still waiting on another authorization for another call. I have 5 rentals, 4 are with AHS and it's like I have to talk to them daily just to get something fixed. My rates were all the same last year on all 4 properties, this year they are all different. Everytime I ask to speak to a supervisor they say they will call me within 24 hours. I am still waiting a month later and several calls and emails later. No once calls, emails or has authority to do anything. It is also very frustrating not talking to someone in America, They all talk from a script, and I can just about quote you the entire conversation.

Service calls are typically good. We’ve used them for over a decade, transferring from one home to the next. This time, however, because we are not moving in to the new home for a few months, they wouldn’t allows us to put the account in a suspended or other similar status for a few weeks. Instead, they hit us with a $50 cancellation fee . . . Which is in the contract, but that doesn’t exactly encourage me to sign a new contract when we arrive at the new home.

I had an air conditioning technician come out and work on my AC unit. They fixed the problem, but now my unit is having other problems and I called American Home Shield. They promised to assign my case to an air conditioning company and I am yet to hear from them. It is going to two weeks now.

In general easy to request service the issue are the contractors AHS gets sometime are not good. Difficult to contact after something goes wrong with the subcontractor. They stated that the job was done and it wasn't. Tried letting AHS know 2 calls over 20 min. One person good the other not. Still 2 days since called cooktop still not repaired

Tech told me the "line was kinked". However, still does not deliver water. He replaced two fans, but not the mother board, which he said was the main issue. Said to call him back. I'm not about calling back; should have been repaired during 1st or 2nd visit.

I have been paying for this insurance for 17 years. I did not have a good experience at all with the replacement of my HVAC! Also, cannot speak to anyone in the U.S. and the person you talk to cannot or has no access to email. A lot of confusion and they don't listen to the customer

They keep raising the monthly premiums every time the contract is up for renewal. Also, if they send a vendor to repair something to my property, none of those documents are available to me to view and ask the vendor questions. I have to keep calling the vendors. If American home shield is paying the vendor, then why don't they provide read-only access to the repair company's invoice.

Call centers in the Philippines are awful. It should be called Filipino Homes Shield, not American Home Shield - because all the ignorant foreigners answering the phone or idiots. Also, many of their contractors are substandard they don't fix it right the first time and they take over a week or more to show up for an appointment. When you have a washer, dryer or refrigerator not working this is unacceptable. I had to end up going out and buying new appliances because of the substandard service!

Results are spotty. I had an excellent visit, then I had a bad one that I had to call back and the followup was too long. today is 8/25 and the follow was for 9/1. If it was done right the first time, I wouldn't be bothered with another visit and such a long wait for repair.

It should be made clear exactly what is covered for ex sample Electrice work but they don't say some electrical work is no covered because of certain codes for wringing so you pay seventy five dollars to find this out when you put in a work order fit all of you i and cross all of your t .

I called to report my hot water heater leaking. American Home sent a plumber. The plumber recommended a replacement. I have a 80 gallon Whirlpool American Home states that is concerned a industrial and will only replace with a 50 gallon. I ask about a cash out and I replace. I have called 4 times since asking and weeks have went by. Each assuring I will get an email with the cash out amount and as of today still no answer. I have to cut the water off to my hose everyday for the hot water heater leaking in my floor. This was supposed to make life easier, but has caused more stress and all except for the last customer service representative was very rude and unprofessional. I have ask to speak to a supervisor and one lady told me they were no need and refused. I pay over $89 a month and paid $125 for service call and nothing done. In fact causing more trouble.

Service fee practices on an AC system when not functioning requires 2 payments this is unethical- it's one system- then you have to identify which unit you want to work on first - as if the homeowner is an AC repair person and knowswhere the problem

American Home Shield has been great. Some improvements could be made at the repairs level. Our air conditioning unit was repaired too many times. A level of highier competence on the part of the repair companies choosen would have been appreciated and would have saved many dollars.

My air conditioner was out and because it happened over a weekend the service that it was given to didn't get notified until Monday. Went Saturday night and Sunday with out air conditioning. Would have been nice to have AHS to have emergency service for cases like this.

Had an awful time with hvac system last year at one house, waited over 3 months to get AC in the summer, no apologies only excuses. I've had a couple good experiences. Also, I have a second policy on a second home and they just patch the hvac instead of replacing.

First experience with hot water heater. I was never reimbursed for hot water heater, took forever to get refrigerator replaced once it went out, not sure how many technicians and times different company's came out. I do have to say the technician that came out for the toilets was awesome.

AC was went down in July. Contacted AHS. After many follow up calls, finally it was fixed, a month later. It was good that they finally fixed it. It was bad that we were without AC in hot summer heat of Houston, TX for a month.

I am frustrated that I have had to have someone out here 3 different times to work on my air conditioning. The company that has come are non responsive. I have had to call them myself each and every time. They are nice and I kn now they are busy, but they need to keep their customers updated or give a time frame as to when the work can be done.

I DISAGREE WITH THE CONTRACTOR THEY SENT AND PAID ANOTHER AC COMPANY WHO DISAGREED WITH THE COMPANY AHS SENT. BECAUSE I FIRST DID NOT WANT AHS TO SEND THEIR COMPANY FOR A 2ND OPINION (I DIDN'T TRUST THEIR COMPANIES) THE PLACER HEATING AND AIR DIAGNOIS WAS APPROVED EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NOT A CORRECT DIAGNOSIS. I ASKED FOR ANOTHER COMPANY TO COME OUT AND THEY SAID SINCE IT WAS ALREADY APPROVED (EVEN THOUGH THIS WAS NOT A CORRECT DIAGNOSIS) I COULD NOT HAVE A SECOND COMPANY TO COME EVALUATE MY AC. PLACER HEATING AND AIR WILL NOT SEND OUT A DIFFERENT TECH TO REVALUATE SO I AM STUCK WITH THIS AHS LISTENING TO THIS FRAUDULANT COMPANY AND NOT ME THE HOMEOWNER AND PERSON WHO PAYS THE AHS PAYMENTS.

I can at best give only a 2 star rating. This is the 3rd time in the last year and a half I have had a technition to our house for the same problem with our refrigerator. Our refrigerator has had high temperatures which after 4-5 days will return to acceptable levels. Recently the temperature reached 64 degrees for several days before returning to the high 30's. I was again charged $100 for the service and nothing was done.
