Nothing against the repair guy he has done everything he can think of but the problem is not really fixed the fridge is still not keeping the correct temp it is above 40 but like I said he has done everything he can think of but I am sure we will have them back out here for a 5th time once again

Service so far has been great! Only used service once but is above my expectations. However I still can not accept the high fee per service. If you call a handyman to fix things it is 40% less. And plus you still need to pay a monthly fee. So, won't be a long term choice if they don't change it to the market price

We had it for 2 years. Our furnace did indeed go out and it made it worth it. Outside of things breaking, I don't feel the need to pay hundreds of dollars just to have the "card in my pocket". If nothing goes horribly wrong, you've wasted money. It would he something else if they offered a smattering of perks to upkeep the house that mattered.

They gave a wrong phone number to a contractor. Not a simple typo, but one that should have been removed a long time ago. It took 45 minutes on the phone to resolve after waiting 40 minutes for a callback and waited an extra 3 days with no heat.

The contractors they use are not reliable, it takes two much time to get help even if it's an urgent matter. I have been disappointed with the choice in service providers. If you see that someone consistently receives poor reviews, it might be best not to partner with them, because it will also reflect poorly in your organization.

It took American Home Shield almost 3 months to get a contractor to finish a job. Never would allow me to get another vendor to get the issue resolved. They repeatedly allowed the contractor to drag their feet for almost 3 months and we were in a home with no air in the the middle of summer. By the time the work was done, fall and cool weather had kicked in.

Because I am on the third appointment for the service issue. The motor for the heating system is going out making a lot of noise. I was told that Home Shield would not replace until it's completely burn out. my home is occupied by 3 seniors and it very cold at night currently we do not have any heating. I am very dissapointed.

I have used AHS for years and have always been pleased with them until now. I had a heater tune up, the contractors found issues and had to order parts. They took apart my furnace on November 1st. The contractor tells us a week later that a part they need is no longer made. AHS approves a new furnace. I'm thinking great this shouldn't be an issue much longer. On Friday the 11th, and Saturday the 12th I get notice that my parts are ordered from AHS. On Monday November 21st I called AHS, they can't tell me anything other than the parts are ordered. Meanwhile we have had two snowstorms with temps dropping down to 10 degrees. We have been without heat for 24 days with no idea when we will have heat again. Prior to this incident I would've rated and recommend them, but I can't in good conscience recommend them. I would hate to put someone in this situation without heat!

My refrigerator ice maker was not working from the door dispenser but the filtered dispenser was. I called AHS to have someone come fix the ice maker and the technician came out and fixed it. After he completed the job I tried the ice dispenser and it worked, was very pleased. When I tried the water dispenser it no longer worked. Very unhappy! I asked the technician to fix what ever he did to the water disowns he said he would need to call AHS. When I called AHS they said they don't cover water dispensers you will need to work with the service provider. This is unacceptable and I after trying to get AHS and the service provider to come remedy a problem created by them, neither will take responsibility. I am stuck in the middle without a filtered water dispenser. We now have to buy filtered water every week! So unhappy with the service provided by AHS.

I received a complementary service for my garage door which I appreciated from at the escalation department when I had to call the third time for my contract. They promised me I would get it that was last month I still haven't received it. I only chose this rating because I have tried four times since April of this year to get a hard copy of my contract each time I called the representative said I would receive it within 10 business days I just called again last week because I never got the last one I requested he said I'd get it in five days still haven't received it. I don't know what the problem is they verify my address so it is correct but I don't think anyone is actually mailing out a hard copy of my contract I wish someone would take care of this for me thank you

When I first used AHS the service was fast. Great service! The last two times, it has taken several days for my request to be processed and although you must submit your payment when you request service, I erroneously received numerous email stating I owed the $75 fee. Just a lot of time wasted to clear up the issue.

My recent experience with hvac was not positive. It ended up being someone who tried to sell me a new unit instead of helping me with issues. They didn't follow up as promised with quotes for service. When I reached out to AHS they seemed very institutional. Didn't really listen or try to understand.

Requested repair for water heater. AMS didn't cover noises, which was why I requested repair. Turns out that the water heater had never been flushed and there was so much sediment that it wasn't even possible to flush. Had to replace the water heater with no help from AMS.

The coverage is misleading. My contract says it covers the replacement and repair of hot water heaters but my hot water replacement is not covered and I'm having to pay out of pocket. Not sure why i pay $60 a month when i have to pay out of pocket anyways

Their customer service is awful, and they take no responsibility for keeping the policy holder informed. I placed a request, and they assigned a company that was unresponsive and had a cell phone number with a full mail box. I put the request in for an active roof leak on a Saturday, contacted them Thursday after not being able to reach the company. Had to call back on Friday and was told Americans home shield would call me back later that day with an update. They never called back so I had to call back Saturday. First associate told me they couldn't locate anyone and that I'd just have to wait despite the uncovered secondary damage that was happening. Finally convinced him to move me to escalations where they kept me on hold on for another 30 minutes (60 total) and ultimately told me that I would have to call back in 4 hours. The first associate said he's refund $50 of my service fee and the second associate said he'd have to review the transcript to see if I refused it?? Three days in a row, I've had to call and this guy wants to review the transcript to see if I refused a $50 refund because I asked for the case to still be escalated since my roof is still actively leaking, getting worse and causing damage!

Our disposal died. I reached in to see what the horrible noise was and a chunk of metal came off in my hand. I put in the claim. They responded and a new one was immediately installed with no problem. My husband enjoys crushed ice in his drinks. The ice bucket part of the ice maker has a rusty auger and does not sit right in it's cradle. It won't produce crushed ice. So, since the disposal experience was fine, I then entered a claim for the ice bucket. A tech came out and agreed that it definitely needs replacement. We are two elderly adults who have never, ever abused this item. The tech reported that it was not from "normal wear and tear" and my claim as been denied. The company suggested a "second opinion" at a second co - pay of $100. The item is 18 years old. Of course it's "normal wear and tear"! We are on a fixed income and an extra $100. inspection should be unnecessary. They just don't want to pay to have this ice maker bucket replaced. This has been extremely distressing to us.

The electrician needed to fix my doorbell and said it was the wire from the transformer and the wall would have to be torn out but there is a wire at the doorbell. Something is up w American Home Shield because I received surveys for Dave's Plumbing but nothing for the electrician. Nothing. Like they know it didn't go well. Not surprising. The wire for my doorbell needs to be pulled by an electrician. Unsatisfied w this service. Please give me a fix or refund for service that was not completed.

I would recommend them however the company needs to do a better job updating their customers when a case is filed. I had to contact Homeshelid multiple times while waiting for a follow up after my case was submitted. Company needs to reach out to the client before the cluent reaches out to them multiple times.

I needed an electrical outlet repaired, because it was located on the outside, but attached to my home, AHS would not repair it. It seems like any electrical problem outside the heme will not be repaired. I feel that I am paying too much money for that.

I am still waiting on my refrigerator to be fixed, this has been going on for at least since July also it is hard to get people at the company to understand that you have a problem with the vendors that they use. This problem originally started in 2021. And it still is not fixed

Because they don't care about you at all. They only care about your monthly payment. The only thing simple is going on line requesting service and giving them your credit card number. When you call because you have a problem you speak to someone overseas who is hard to understand and sometimes, doesn't speak English. When you request to speak to a supervisor, no one calls you back. After the 8th time requesting a supervisor, no one calls you back. American Home Shield actually lies to the contractor's who are conducting the work and makes up stories. I actually listened in on a phone conversation with the repair contractor where they told the contractor that I was refusing the repair, or that I was offered a payout and didn't take it. Then I would call back to inquire about this, the new person overseas would contradict the previous conversation that had just taken place. After ten hours of trying to figure things out about my oven, I pretty much need therapy by now. No wonder people get sooooo angry and frustrated and upset, because you make it impossible to speak to someone or sympathize with the homeowner who just wants their oven repaired.

The sales crew are wonderful. The crew that help schedule service are outsourced and do not always know what is covered. For example we have two hose bib faucets which are leaking. I called and was told that NOTHING outside my home was covered but only items inside. My contract clearly states hose bibs and these are never inside the home. He would not provide the service I needed. Also I requested a company that we had before and they wanted to send someone else.

The technicians you sent have been great. My concerns comes from the coverage, which, I feel is misleading. Electrical may not cover ALL electrical, and septic system does not cover ALL septic components. When you figure in the cost for each service call and monthly premium I'm not sure this is cost effective.

First, I was forced to input a number. My honest rating is ZERO. AHS took my money for 10+ years but did not provide proper support when the time for a serious service call arrived. I have had no heat for three weeks and live in the NE region of the US. I was being forced to accept an offer from their contractor who I could not afford. AHS would not allow an alternate contractor or outside authorization to help resolve the issue. And the cash out offer was disrespectfully low. AHS knows that the average consumer doesn't have access to the same prices that they do and so there is no way that I could find a comparable unit for the low price they offered. Had I directed my monthly payment to a savings account for the past 10+ years instead, I would be able to replace my system without the hassle and anxiety experienced with this company. I will never return, and I will discourage anyone from ever signing a contract with AHS. I am determined to make sure no one that I know and care about becomes a customer. This company is a scam. Takes days before hearing back from an account escalation specialist. And then when they get on the phone its as if they are reading from a script. Disgusting customer service. The escalation specialist literally told me "I have no choice but the two options they offer". I don't want to use profanity in this review but please know it will be used when describing the disgusting level of service provided to me.

This home warranty company is no different than any other warranty company, they cover NOTHING. They have a list of reasons why your issue is not covered, so nothing gets covered...ever. I've had3 different warranty companies in the past and they all work on the same business model...deny everything. I will not and will tell everyone to never waste their money on a home warranty. you ALWAYS ending up paying out of pocket anyway. But this company is the worst I've dealt with, my issues were legit and go nothing but a line of excuses why they were not covered. The reasons are endless. What are you going to do about it, take them to court? They know it's one of the greatest scams ever. I am telling everyone and posting comments everywhere I can to voice my experience with this company and all the other home warranty places. SAVE YOUR MONEY FOR THE REPAIRS YOU NEED THAT WILL NOT BE COVERED.

Totally disagree with results of service denial. On the phone for 1hour and 45minutes with representative who would read partial quotes from contract, stated there was no way to appeal,encourage me to get 2nd opinion with their contractor(which you pay another $100 ) and when I requested requested to have a different service person with their approval to get 2nd opinion was told again No. Feel totally ripped off....also was told my plan was grandfather ini and was the same as gold plan where the contract listed also stated my service was covered. And all this occurred via the phone including the service call

The last company was EXCELLENT. They were professional, efficient, friendly and fixed the problem in one visit. However AHS is NOT CONSISTENT IN THE QUALITY/EXPERTISE OF ALL THE COMPANIES IT UTILIZES. For example, some time back at another rental property, the plumber stated a slow faucet required new pipes in the walls and thousands of dollars to fix it. I got another plumber and it was an old rubber washer blocking the pipe and it was easily fixed. Other low quality companies sent out over the years, though a few are good. You have to get second opinions frequently

A comedy of errors and poor execution, but eventually AHS made me whole. After weeks of half measures and many phone calls, replacement washer was delivered, installed and our old broken appliance hauled away, as one would expect.

Needing electric and plumbing. Last year guy came out that did both. This time said they can't do it without additional 100.00 fee.had to call ac guy after being told they won't cover ours. Electrician out once and said he couldn't work on it because it required running some new wire and outlet..did fix toilet and garbage disposal

Each time a technician comes to my home, work is denied initially, then they have to escalate and then they approve after I speak to them. And the same project is approved a few months ago and now it is not. Also hate that a manager can not be brought in to the conversation and always a manager needs to call back. Takes days. Horrible customer service. Used to be better.
