And they determined it was mice! Please tell me who has mice that they don't even know are in the attic under their control!

Well, it has been 32 days, 5 visits, and 3 motors and my AC still isn't fixed. There's also now a giant 3x3' hole where my ceiling fell in due to the AC drip pan for the upstairs unit overfilling. AHS won't cover that as it is "secondary damage" despite the fact it was caused by the upstairs unit struggling to keep up with no downstairs unit for a month now in 90-degree weather. They also charged me a second service charge to have the tech look at the hole in the ceiling. Then told me it was not covered. After reporting them to the BBB they decided to refund the charge they conned me into as compensation. All bait and switch and they can translate the contract however they see fit. The technician ordered the wrong motor twice, and the one time he got the right one, he ran the ground wire on top of the unit and screwed it into painted metal so it fried the system. I'm lucky the house didn't catch fire. Meanwhile, AHS has been denying any wrongdoing, claiming the repair is on track to the BBB. Do not trust this company, they will not support you. Oh, and three different AHS employees told me the hole was covered. Fourth said it wasn't but they would review calls and if I was told it is covered, they would cover it. The escalation person admitted that I was misinformed on all four phone calls and they would not be doing anything for me. Rather, I was informed they would be disciplining the four employees. I wasn't trying to get someone written up. I just want the service I paid for to actually get done.

I carried a warranty with AHS for 10 years because I owned homes with aging AC systems. I’m 99% certain that I never made a claim that required more than my deductible to fix. My AC went out 9 days ago and it is July in Kansas which means the humidity is basically the same as the outside temperature. I have called several times each day and they are still unable to give me a timeline of when it will be fixed. The temperature is an actual health risk right now, so I’ve had to vacate my home and the humidity is murdering my hardwood floors and home office equipment. They won’t even let you talk to a supervisor when you ask. Just put you on hold for three minutes and then tell you the supervisors are too busy. You’re better off saving the monthly premium and handling your own equipment repairs

Garage Door opener broke (the springs). They are covered per the contract. Been over 30 days and NOT a single contractor with in 100 miles wants to work with AHS so they are forcing me to take a CASH-IN-LIEU offer. The offer is $170 when the CHEAPEST estimate i have is $580. AHS is stating they are only offering to pay for fraction of the cost because they aren't covering labor. NOW my contract CLEARLY states they are to pay a reasonable repair fee which include parts and labor. they are refusing... So I have to pay my $94 monthly fee. $125 service fee.... they are going to pay me $170. SOOOOO that means i lost $49 to them PLUS the $400-$600 for the repair. Tell me how that is service? So in the end it is costing me EXTRA money to have their service, not to mention the calls and frustration for the last 1.5 months. My car was trapped in the garage for 3 weeks. FYI their contract states 48 hours. It has been more than 48 DAYS. Why does the Government let companies steal money like this?

I would like to express my complete dissatisfaction with the terrible service at American Home Shield. I have been a loyal customer for years with American Home Shield and once something expensive like the water heater or A/C doesn't work they find ANY excuse not to pay. Last month, I reported to American Home Shield that my A/C was not cooling off. American Home Shield sent a third party company called "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" to inspect and fix my home A/C. "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" arrived at my home, make an inspection and took several photographs of the coil and A/C. After the inspection "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" sent a report to American Home Shield that the reason the A/C was not working was due to "Mold or Mildew" in the A/C. Based on this fact (which is a lie), American Home Shield informed me they will not cover the A/C coil replacement or labor due to "Mold or Mildew", they allegedly claim is present in the A/C coil and sent me an estimate of almost $4,500 dollars. I contacted American Home Shield to request the photographs containing the Mold or Mildew "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" claims my home A/C coil had as evidence. I was informed by American Home Shield that American Home Shield did not have these photographs and to contact "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" for these photographs. At the same moment, I called "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" and they informed me they could not share with me the A/C coil images containing Mold or Mildew, the A/C inspection report or provide a detailed estimate to me. They told me to contact American Home Shield directly as I was a Client of American Home Shield not their Client. Furthermore, "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" informed me that once they uploaded all the information online to American Home Shield, that information is gone from the "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" system. Since then, I had called six (06) times to American Home Shield, spoke with 3 associates, 3 supervisors and 1 customer complain department, asking for: a. the release of the A/C coil images containing Mold or Mildew; b. the release of the A/C full inspection report; and c. a copy of the detailed estimate for almost $4,500 dollars to know what is included in the estimate they provided. To continue with the terrible service by American Home Shield, in my online login at the American Home Shield online portal, there is a disclaimer that reads under the estimate: "*American Home Shield cannot guarantee the accuracy of this estimate. For exact costs, contact the contractor." Therefore, even though I am a customer of American Home Shield and I have had paid a monthly subscription for years to American Home Shields, American Home Shield cannot guarantee the accuracy of their estimates or provide any information and proof of the alleged Mold and Mildew. Therefore, either the company "American Home Shield", "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" or "both companies" together, want to take advantage of me as a customer one more time. For the lack of transparency of both companies until now, it gives the irrefutable impression that these companies are running a "FRAUD scheme"!!!!!!!!

I have been trying to get my refrigerator fixed since September 24th. The first contractor never showed up. The second contractor showed up on October 2nd and stated a part was needed to get my refrigerator working. I called GM Appliance over several times and left voicemail messages. They do not answer the phones or return calls. I called American Home Shield and they have escalated the issue and refund my $125.00 and someone from escalation support is going to reach out to me and no one has. I need my refrigerator to be fixed. I have been without a refrigerator for a month. I have children who are on medication that needs to be in the refrigerator. This is a huge inconvenience and poor customer. I am considering canceling and going with another company who can better serve.

Very disappointed in this company. First time I called them for an HVAC repair, it turned out they don't cover my repairs, so I paid their guy $550 out of pocket to charge the system. I would rather have found my own HVAC technician because that was way too expensive. Second time I had to call AHS for my fridge, it took their guy 8 days to get to my house. He then showed me the fridge and explained that it's a sealed system that is not meant to be serviced. It took AHS another 72 hours to process his report.... at which point AHS told me that the system was serviceable but was missing a part, so it was outside of my warranty. Then they told me that, for another $45, the part could be installed and the fridge could be fixed. I told them that, yes, of course I want to spend $45 to fix my fridge. They never sent the technician. So I called again, got the same lecture, and was told a technician would come out for $45. Once again, nobody followed up. So I called a third time. This time, AHS told me that I was outside of the warranty, so the HVAC company would not come out and would not install a port... but that I could pay AHS another $100 for a second opinion. At this point, I've been without a fridge for 3 weeks, and it's already been diagnosed as a sealed system that has no port for charging. This is clearly just a scam meant to make me go away so that AHS doesn't have to replace my broken fridge.

I like the process however, I did tell the agent about my dishwasher -the fact that I have Multiple Sclerosis and when I turned , I fell into the dishwasher causing the door to be damaged. I don't like Home sheild sending inexperienced repair men out that lie about the problem and cost us additional money y hiring some one to fix the problem when Home shield could have done it. Home shield need to follow up on their people they send out and report that the problem is not fixable. Many cases its not true.

I had my swamp cooler replaced by C&R Plumbing on 5/19/2023. They did a shoddy job and breached my roof, causong more than $10,000 in damages to my home. I discovered during this time that C&R Plumbing has a consistant ONE STAR rating thru the Better Business Bureau. Had this been revealed to me upfront, I would have NEVER NEVER NEVER trusted them with something as critical as the installation of my very expensive swamp cooler that I had waited YEARS to replace. State Farm is trying to resolve the claim and asked for an itemized receipt for the work American Home Shield (AHS, like the horror series…) contracted C&R Plumbing to do in replacing my swamper. Ugh. I reached out to American Home Shield for a fourth time this week. First person: We'll have that bill to you in 24hrs. That was six days ago. Second person: Yes. The form on your file says it'll be there in there in 24 hours. That was four days ago. Third person: Hung up on me. Fourth person: Played "20 Questions" with me until I snapped and they hung up on me. (i.e. "I'm going to reverify the same basic info ad nauseum until Laurie loses it...and then hang up") Fifth person: "Please just get me to your supervisor." They put me on hold for said person. The "Supervisor" is not actually a "Supervisor" but another rep for a different company representing American Home Shield. That person is authorized to "submit a form to Accounting requesting an itemized bill. It'll be sent to....is your email xxx@xxxx.xxx?" Me: 🤬 This is my TedTalk for the night. 😬😬😬

I have been an American home shield client for less than a year. Trying to get my HVAC fixed has been horrible. After getting a quote for $2600 they told me that I can get it fixed for less if I upgrade my plan from Gold to Platinum and have a new vendor come out under my new upgraded plan. Once I upgraded ($600 more as the special I got the Gold plan half off on had ended), then got a new vendor ($125 again a week after paying for the first vendor to come out), they told me that they would not authorize my HVAC repair to be covered under my new plan at all - meaning I spent $725 extra within one week for nothing. I have called multiple times, requested that the phone call where I was told that the upgrade would cover my HVAC be replayed, but all to no avail. After having this insurance for less than a year (only six months as an got it in April and it is now November), I am canceling this service ans going back to my old warranty company.

You seem to get push back on valid claims or you get service techs that charge 2 to 3 times the standard price. Becuase i ont have the time or access to do most of this myself i have to use something in the meantime. Im not sure how long. The customer service at AHS is good. I bought an older home, so the peace of mind is helpful. Dealing with the customer service is a nightmare 90% of the time. Very hard to get clarification around any vagueness in the contract. For the most part the service technicians have been good and actually fixed the things that are wrong. However, when things don't go well, it goes very poorly---and then we're back to how awful AHS' customer service is. If I had a newer home, I would absolutely call this a money making scam. Enough stuff breaks in my old house that it's worth dealing with the nightmare of calling them.

I have an Apollo heating system a lot of companies cannot work on this system but there are some I have been trying for 4 weeks to get someone to my house. It was assigned to the same company four times that did not work on my system I had to call companies myself and then call HSA back to tell them who could work on it. It is going down in the '30s this week and I have no heat. No one will be here until November 3rd to look and this is the fourth week I've been trying to get it fixed. The customer service is horrible I did not have this problem last year, but I'm sorry to say I would not recommend American home shield. No one should have to wait for heat for 4 weeks and a part needs to be ordered so it could be a month before I have heat. I have parrots in my house and I'm running electric heaters. This should not have happened

We call to let you all that I could not use my bathrooms or shower the representative state that would make not to plumber no when they out on Thursday, no caring attitude. The plumber company call state that they could not come on Thursday they had one there working was sick. They rescheduled for Monday hours 12-5. So we had to call another plumber company to take of plumber issue.

Like that I can get problems taken care of at a better then full cost price. Dislike that I can not speak to someone on mainland USA. Also on occasion have found that the workers are not from a first rated company. We seem to pay more and more but do not seem to get top quality help.

Hi tried calling them and left a message a week ago, then yesterday spoke to someone at an American Home Shield, who assured me that it would be taken care of. When I logged onto my American Home Shield Account I saw that they had scheduled me for yesterday… No phone call or email letting me know this! I was home for most of the time that they said they would be here, but no one came. I have still not received any phone calls from tri-state. I am at a loss as to what to do at this point… Though I do feel that my American home shield fee should be refunded to me since I have not gotten the service I paid for.

AHS is always there. They will always send a technician, sometimes they're good sometimes not. If there is a problem with a technician AHS will try to resolve it but, they are not always on your side.

Upon my request for service, the first contractor was dispatched immediately and was extremely responsive. However the repair was out of his range. The work order was redispatched. After 24 hours I called the 2nd contractor to schedule appointment, only to find out they do not do the repair either. I called AHS and once again re-dispatched work order. I will be calling contractor #3 today as it’s been 24 hours. Unfortunately the online reviews of this 3rd contractor or horrible but hoping my experience will be better. Meanwhile water continues to leak inside my home.

I pay for 3 years of warranty and they could not fix anything . I have decided to walk away because their contractors came to my home 6x but couldn't figure out what was wrong with my Microwave oven I decided to walk away with a non working microwave ager paying $1800 for 3 years and $400 for 4 initial time they came out to diagnose. it is a total waste of time and $$ most ridiculous company ever. Please don't waste your time with this so call AHS. the worst warranty company ever. It was an experience Ill never forget and Ill never try or recommend this to anyone

We have had american home shield for 5 years. The things I like: $75 fee for any service Things i don't like: not quite truthful about repair or replace. Replace happens with a number of things uncovered They replaced my air-conditioning system at a discount, with faulty install that left water in my crawl space. Now neither AHS nor the installer will do anything about the mold in my air conditioning ducts. Also, the wait time for repairs can be lengthy, so be prepared to wait!

I don’t like the difficulty to get a supervisor when something goes wrong or when can’t get resolution from regular process. Also don’t like scripted verbiage that often is disingenuous. - ⭐️ ⭐️ if it was possible. had to have a hot water heater replaced in my home. That was more than 13 years old. The replacement unit only lasted 2 years and I don’t know if it was the plumber they used to install it or the product they selected. Within a year the piping had to be replaced. The next year. My house almost caught fire because the water heater had a water leak that leaked into the installation and sparked a fire within the water heater. They had it replaced. To only have to call them back within 3 weeks because the unit again has malfunctioned. The thermostat went out in the unit. All they did was send someone out to replace the thermostat. At this point from a company stand point they should look into just using a different brand. I looked up the brand and the cost of it was less than $600. For 40gal tank. You get what you pay for. Totally not satisfied . I feel that the safety and wellbeing should be a company's model. I trusted my family safety with them with the appropriate selection of quality materials to be used in my home. They don’t even respond as if they care or will try to make it right. They raised the price of the premium, there’s no increase in quality. The morning of 10/25/23 the water heater AGAIN isn’t working. I call AHS @ 4 AM and all they could say was they are going to send out a more experienced technician. I have no clue what the technician has to do with faulty equipment.

Very poor experience with any work I requested. Two examples. I had a dryer not working. Requested service and paid the $100 fee for service. Vendor comes and says the vent needs to be cleaned out and that is not covered. No indication anywhere in contract or on website that it is not covered. What a waste! I requested a refund of my $100 and after arguing for more than 30 minutes was told they would request a $50 refund. Never received the refund! 2) Needed service on a A/C split not cooling. No way to request on website since it does not include a radio button choice for splits. Had to call and deal with someone who hardly speaks the language and is extremely difficult to understand. She did not know what to do either since splits are not listed on website (though clearly covered in the contract). Told her I want to be sure vendor works on splits. After 45 minutes she figured out how to enter. Next day, I stay home from work and guy comes and say they don't fix splits - exactly the issue I spent 45 minutes trying to avoid! Have to spend another hour plus on the phone to get someone qualified out to fix it. Took two visits. At least this time I received my requested refund of the $100 co-pay. Your service generally has incompetent people answering the phone and then sends under-qualified technicians to "fix" things. I am very unhappy!

Service was pretty quick and the company that was sent was very knowledgeable. The fact that it cost me over $1,500.00 out of pocket was a real surprise, because wiring and labor were not covered. When my water well went out, I called the company that installed it because it was under warranty. I still had to pay $600 out of pocket for labor. Just what does this insurance cover??

I vehemently dislike the fact that I have been a loyal customer of multiple years with multiple houses and AHS is unwilling to offer me the price (upon renewal) a brand new customer would receive. This reflects poor customer service and retention practices. I left Verizon Wireless after 20+ years of being a customer for the EXACT same reason. It's dumb not to offer customers, who request it, the price a new customer would pay, especially if they're willing to renew. Now, two years later, because of Verizon's poor overall retention rates, they're offering the exact same thing I was requesting, the identical offer a new customer would receive. I guess AHS needs to learn that lesson too. I will cancel my contract and get a new one to get the same price. Dumb!
