We’ve been customers since 2017 and have had successful resolutions until this year. I don’t know what changed in 2023, but we’ve had an ongoing issue since March and AHS refuses to escalate the problem. Week after week I have to call back to let them know the issue isn’t resolved. Instead of approving a replacement, they keep sending technicians who sometimes don’t even show up. We’ve had 2 no shows and a last minute cancellation. It’s incredibly frustrating and their customer service won’t pass you to a manager if you ask. They keep asking you questions to “get you to a manager” but in reality they’re just trying to “solve” the issue. Personally, we’re looking elsewhere and would suggest you do the same.

I am giving a star because the American Home Shield people on the phone are kind. But the warranty itself is a joke. I have paid one fee to get someone out to look at my A/C and the unit is still not working. I called for a re-visit and the guy that came was swearing at me within minutes and refused to work on it without even looking at it. The President of the company called and apologized profusely. I called AMS back and they said they would send a new person out because the horrible company I used said it was duct work and that is what he told AMS. I spoke to a nice lady who said she would get a duct work order out because she needed to reassign it (because the original was for A/C) but the company it was reassigned to was another HVAC company! They didn’t do a duct work company. So three people later, five days, probably 10 phone calls, no working A/C and a 23-year-old unit that is going to go most likely in the middle of the summer is still not fixed. I was verbally abused by one of the technicians that is supposed to help but just made me feel unsafe. AMS, I hope you enjoy the $$$ paid for the warranty but you all should be ashamed of the fact that this is how you are “helping” people. Your contractors are not allowed to do certain things and because of all the restrictions you have in place to make sure you aren’t actually paying out, it is a vicious cycle of our system breaking, me waiting days to get a technician, and then no guarantee it will get fixed. Your company isn’t a warranty - it is a guarantee that your customers will waste their time. Here I thought I was getting some piece of mind that if my unit broke, I would be able to get it fixed or replaced within reason and neither of those things are ever going to happen because of your company. And, not for nothing, I realize you cannot be replacing every single unit that breaks, but let’s be a little more understanding of what is really going on with your customers. The amount of people you pay to take my phone calls, schedule appointments and re-do work for my dead A/C, are you actually making kidney on holding out at this point? Do better.

Need to clarify when items will not be covered based on the age of the item. Three years ago, repaired the microwave although it was 9 yeas old. Last month, would not repair the HVAC Condenser unit because it was 9.5 years old.

When my dishwasher broke replacement parts were unavailable and AHS promptly replaced the unit. But the installer was a jerk, came twice and didn’t install it. Then AHS said they have no contracted installer and told me to get my own. I think that if AHS is going to serve an area it should have contracted installers.

American home shield needs to evaluate the company's they work with or atop charging us deductibles. Everytime I used the services I paid my 75 dollar faithfully and had to go through hell and high waters just to get a resolution. Which I should not have to since I am paying every month on time and pay my deductible. Am looking for other home warranty services.

I originally reported an issue with my refrigerator on 4/26/23 and have been through multiple vendors in an attempt to have it repaired. I was told that the request would be expedited due to the need to store my medicine , it’s 5/16/23 and the refrigerator is still not functioning properly. Had an appointment for yesterday in which I took off work and the vendor didn’t call to advise he wasn’t coming due to leaving the part at the shop . Today I had an appointment for 5p - 7p and was told it would probably be another one or two ? I’ve lost food and have difficulties storing my medication, I’ve called AHS almost daily and all I received was scripted responses , this is not the “Award” winning service I expected !

When contractors come and fix an item only to discover something was not fixed right or break again afterc30 daysyhe customer has to pay again . If a shower know is fixed correctly it should not break again in a couple of months. It it does it means it wasn't fixed right from the start. Also not having a company on stand by in case of plumb8ng issues/leaks and not reimbursing the customer for calling a non ahs plumber

There was NO comuocatio. From Miss H. I called and left message 5 times, with no reply. She sent out a company that could not work w the 1st diagnosis. Then called after I replied to an email and Cc Brian that her service and working w HSA has been a horrible experience. Called to say that they would be sending paper work to allow me to either get a new fridge or take the cash. Today I get another email stating that they are sending out another company to try and fix fridge. Not sure how to I'm suppose to offer this service to my real estate clients when this has been such a bad experience.

Our heat has been broken for a month we put a service ticket in and no one has been here to fix it yet. I asked for a supervisor to call us back and have not heard from anyone. I have called them every other day asking to speak to someone and I get told that a supervisor will call me back at it never happens. Our heat is still broken at it has been between 20 and 40 degrees. Our contract is due to renew I'm not sure if we will renew. I have been with this company for years and the quality of service has definitely changed for the absolute WORSE.... Trying to a supervisor or resolution specialist on the phone to help is non-existent. If I could give this company less than ZERO I would....No heat in 20 -40 degrees and due to get colder No Help for a month is really bad they need to DO BETTER WITH ASSISTING THERE PAYING CUSTOMERS......

AHS gradually raised my rated and deleted some of the options I had on my policy without my knowledge. During the time I used the company for issues it was very difficult to get service scheduled in a timely manner as well as get goo techs out to complete the work. i had to do multiple follow ups and spend a lot of time to resolve the claim to replace my water heater. They finally sent the check as promised. But the coverage explained when i signed up for the member ship Vs what they explained during the time of claim was different. Ensure to read the documents thoroughly before you take up the membership.

My first experience through AHS has been rocky. I've called and apparently given false information by multiple representatives, told by AHS that a service charge would not apply (even after they had my info and plan pulled up) yet I'm still being hit up for a $100 service fee. I was told I'd have a call from AHS by yesterday after HQ could review the calls that occurred, and I've heard nothing back. I have to keep following up. Communication has been extremely poor and I have little trust in receiving accurate info when contacting AHS at this point.

I understand there's not much they can do about that but they're only giving me a minimal amount of money to try to replace it - and it has to be purchased from Lowe's. Very unprofessional company lack of caring no customer service and out all the time I had them to come out for service they still have not really fixed the problem the refrigerator it took them approximately 3 months to replace the compressor when it was not under a warranty I had to call Sears out to get them to tell them that it's not under warranty my opinion it's just not worth having a home warranty with American Home Shield the representative are uncaring lack of experience and just don't care if food spoil they lied and said that they were going to replace it and the technician that came out did not even know there job I had to get sears to come out and fix the refrigerator eventually after 3 months and a half they finally paid for sears to fix the refrigerator sears fixed it the air conditioner wouldn't stay on they still did not fix it the A/Ctechnician did not know what he was doing they had veryUN knowledgeable people coming out to check the equipment they could not even give me a contractor THAT CAN GET THE JOB DONE RIGHT with them I will never work with them again and no way will I ever let American home warranty warranty not even a dog house of mine that's my opinion of the uncaring unprofessional people that I dealt with and they had the nerve to call me back after all of that and said what can we do for you not a thing for me they ask what can we do to keep your business you done enough and before all of that they had the nerve theyhad the nerve to raise the price of $10 for them not doing their job & you know I was already going to cancell they they get a 0 overall rating I have told them I have a child stlii n the home no one seems to care it still make me red

They receive the rating because I have attempted to contact them on several occasions since November 23 as it relates to a service request and nothing has been resolved. The contractor that they have assigned to me to provide me with appropriate, and effective heating and air services has not answered myself when I call or American Home Shield. I feel that this is not fair for a customer to call and complain multiple times and just basically get the runaround from both American Home Shield and extreme heating and air. I will not be recommending American Home Shield to any friends and family based on my recent experiences. The reason I say this is because I have attempted to contact extreme heating and air on multiple occasions and have received no services and when I complain to American Home Shield, I basically received the runaround.

Because when I had to have atepair to my furnace I later found the the repair company had put in a 1 speed fan moter instead of the original 3spead. I later found this out after the repair had been done weeks later after a recall back. Since this repair I have to have a repair man out every year either before both summer or winter season. When the repair company was confronted they were a d still are to- date in denial. This q speed is not efficient.

Upset that the company they send out to fix air conditioning they didn't turn back the gas on up in attic so my heating didn't turn on so had to call to send out to see what wrong with it and had to pay deductible for the mistake the first company did

It has been a mix of experiences with AHS. These experiences include having to follow up multiple times regarding incorrect billing, having to follow up to get a contractor to come back out after they did not complete a job, and still never having my A/C unit replaced.

Last year I had an issue with my heat and air. I was charged and the company did not follow through on securing a service person. This year I paid $75 for a heat and air check. Again, the company's response was that there are no service people in our area but refunded the amount paid. Just recently, I paid $100 and requested repair for my dryer. The visit was made prior to Thanksgiving but I am still having the same issue. I do have another service call placed and they will be checking the issue again on December 7.

Contract they sent for water issue inflated the problem and now I need to pay for a water heater. I only ask for some one to address the temp of water. Now I have a 400.00 dollar bill. The company that came want me to give them cash for the water heater. I do not feel comfortable with that.
