American Home Shield (AHS) has been amazing. We have only needed them one time, but they treated us very well. We needed to have our Stove replaced. They sent out a contractor who verified that the stove needed to be replaced. They order the stove the same day. Two days later they called and told us the stove would be delayed. They authorized us to purchase a countertop oven for up to $100.00 due to the delay. After the new stove arrived and had been installed they called to ensure the contractor had been on time and that we were satisfied. One week later they called again to make sure there were no problems with the stove or the install.

In the past 3 months we've had two claims with AHS: One for our Dryer and the other for our Furnace. Our Dryer was not drying properly and the technician ordered the parts they felt they needed. The frustrating part of this claim was the excessive time it took AHS to handle the parts request. The service company notified AHS that the necessary parts were no longer available and that a payout would likely be needed. AHS then said they needed to try their sources to find the parts. That took over 10 days just to confirm what the service tech already told me. We couldn't be without a dryer so we just bought a new one that was the newer version of the one we had. The upside is that AHS agreed to do the payout and we were reimbursed $900 towards our new dryer, covering about 90% of the cost of the new one. So it all worked out well in the end. For our Furnace, the first tech the responding company sent was a pure BS artist. Once I learned more about our Lennox furnace, I quickly learned that he was installing the wrong Igniter, something 3 other HVAC companies I called said was something "you learn on Day 1 working on Lennox furnaces." In hindsight I am convinced he was just trying to push me to buy a new furnace so he could earn a commission. I pushed them and they sent another technician who really knew her stuff about furnaces. She immediately confirmed her coworker installed the wrong Igniter and got the right one. The downside is that it took a few days and the temperatures were low, but we got through it. In the end, she installed a new Igniter, Computer Module/Board, and a new Inducer motor. Furnace is working again and AHS covered it all. I've had other claims with AHS over the last several years and they've covered everything. I really feel I've gotten my money's worth, especially this year. I have noticed my annual fees are increasing, but at this point I am still money ahead on what I am spending and will renew my contract.

I, Jackie Gray have been a member of AHS since 2006. Considering the time span I’ve been an associate should indicate that I’m a satisfied customer. I’m so satisfied with the service(which I will elaborate below) I’ve added my 2nd property to a plan in 2017. I’ve had several situations at my primary resident at which time the service techs contacted me within 24 hours and was on the issue less then 48 hours. For the most part all items were covered through my plan with the exception of once and this was due to the contractors not installing an shut off box for the hot water heater. If you’re a homeowner I would recommend getting AHS for those issues that will come up and will be costly that all you will have to do is pay a deductible for the most part. Kudos to AHS job well done!!

My wife and I learned about American Home Shield from our daughter/Son in law. We have been using AHS for 10 years ourselves, and I now recommend them to all of my homeowner friends. I think that it is irresponsible to not have it. They vet the companies that not only do quality work but are great to be associated with. We recently scheduled two appointments for our water heater & toilet. Both groups were timely, knowledgeable, and professional. It takes away the hassle of feeling like someone is trying to take advantage of your situation. They are simply there to do the work. That in itself relieves stress when something in your home or property breaks down.

On the coldest weekend this year I had no heat. It was on a Friday night. I call AHS on Saturday morning they recommended a contractor the contractor called me about 15 minutes later and said someone would be out Monday at 9am. the contractor showed up and after about 20 minutes the heat came on. He advised me that I needed a new motor and he oiled the old one for it to work until they got the new part. On Tuesday I was called and told they had the new motor and would I be home on Wednesday I said yes. So I got the new motor installed on Wednesday. But actually I had heat from Monday the 1st day. I applaud AHS for supplying capable contractors I would recommend them to anyone.

I first experienced AHS when I purchased an older home back in the 80's. I t was a lifesaver then...and I have maintained a policy on my next home as well. It is a wonderful investment. For a small monthly payment I have peace of mind. My current home was built in 1979 and although I do keep things up...everything eventually wears out. AHS just replaced my ice maker in my refrigerator/freezer that had exceeded it's 5-year warranty period. That would have been several hundred dollars. They also fixed the heating element in my 6-year old dryer. It has more than paid for itself! I highly recommend you purchase this peace of mind policy!

American Home Shield was recommended to me by an appliance repairman’s wife. Although I had been considering it for a few months, her recommendation pushed me over the edge. I had 2 appliances die on me within 6 months and got tired of trying to find reliable repairmen and wound up being told they would be too expensive to repair. Since I’m getting up in years and have 3 houses, I decided this was a good time to invest in 3 policies. Well, the good Lord was with me and no sooner had I purchased the policies, I had problems in 2 of the properties. AHS has been a knight in shining armor riding in to save the day. It repaired or replaced 3 things in one property and are working on the second thing in another property. I will never be caught without these policies ever again!

I have been a customer of American Home Shield for at least 10 years and have been totally pleased with their service, service request process, and coverage. They have provided outstanding customer service throughout this time and I have never had any problems with coverage for any of my appliances, pool pumps, or plumbing. They have even replaced all my 25 year old kitchen appliances because replacement parts are no longer available. Had issues with a couple of their assigned repair people, but they covered a different company to redo my service call with no hassle. I will continue having AHS protection.

Informing AHS of a plumbing problem on their website was very easy and fast. I was informed who the service company would be within minutes and had a call from the plumbing company within an hour of filing my claim. The plumber was on time and very quickly resolved the problem. My only complaint is that I did not receive a call as promised about thirty minutes before the plumber was to arrive. All of a sudden he appeared without notice. When I asked why he did not call to let me know he was on his way he told me he sent a text. I told him a landline does not accept a text and he simply said "I'm here".

I have been using AHS for over 8 years and am very pleased with their coverage. I recently have a complicated issue with my refrigerator. It took the technician many trips to finally resolve the issue. I am glad that AHS's 60 days' "recall policy" is counting from the last trip visited by the technician, not the first trip. This essential means that after the repair, there is a 60 days' warranty period. Any reoccurring issue will be automatically covered without having to pay another deductible. After the 2nd visit, another new 60 days' warranty period will restart again. This nice recall policy would really help to ensure the issue can be properly fixed.

Overall we have been very satisfied with American Home Shield but I will say it has been difficult when I have had to have conversations with individuals from other countries. It is hard to understand them and most recently I have had two of them tell me things that haven't been helpful or correct about our last service and it doesnt seem like they know what they are doing. I did have one person explain my coverage for our dishwasher racks(which should be covered) but we are still waiting for it to get resolved for some reason. Its been a little frustrating. I have been told that she will contact me soon but we would like this to be handled as soon as possible The way I see it, if it's covered it just needs to get approved to the vendor!

I have had AHS for several years. I got them because I knew that I had a lot of old appliances in my home and that soon they would all start to break down. In the last 4 years, we have had an oven replaced, new air conditioner put in, heater repaired, extensive plumbing done in the basement to fix slow drains clogged from old pipes, main sewer cleaned out,and kitchen faucet replaced . This warranty has paid for its self many times over. If they cannot repair it they replace it, no questions asked. I did have to wait a couple weeks for the new oven to come in then schedule someone to install it, but they did a great job

I can't speak highly enough about American Home Shield (AHS)! Our washing machine stopped going through all of the cycles. AHS sent a repair person out, they diagnosed the problem, ordered the part and instructed me to call once the part arrived. We scheduled an appointment once the part arrived. We had to be available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and took a day off from work to be available. They canceled the appointment at 6:30 p.m. I was certainly displeased with A&E and contacted AHS. They immediately scheduled another technician with a different company to come out and install the part to the washing machine. Excellent service!! They immediately scheduled for the initial issue and corrected the resulting issue as soon as possible. I'm certainly impressed with their follow-through and couldn't ask for more. They had no control over A&E canceling but the took corrective action with positive results. I strongly recommend AHS for all your home warranty needs.

I am new to AHS this year. They have been so awesome to me. Unfortunately, I have had two claims this year. My A/C fan went out three days after my policy went into effect, and they paid to fix it no problem. A service tech was here the next day. Two weeks ago, we placed a service call for low water pressure. It did take a day to find a company, but placing the service call on Friday and having someone Monday was wonderful. The service company Wiley’s was great also. My well pump motor was shot and they replaced it. An AHS representative even called to explain that I would need to pay $53 to Wiley’s for chlorination and disinfectant, as that was not covered as part of the pump. No problem! I can certainly see that right in the covered items in my contract, and it was nice for someone to call and tell me exactly what i would, or would not be paying. Just like it says when you place a service order, don’t pay anything to the provider, AHS lets you know when you need to. I can attest that so far, AHS has been good to me, and I will continue to stay with them.

We have had to contact American Home Shield 3 times during the first month of buying our house. The seller provided the warranty and we are glad he did. Each time we contacted AHS they have been very pleasant and truly concerned about the problem we were having. Our home is a rehab and we only got one key to the house. So we figured the other keys were out there somewhere. The re-key coverage was a blessing to us. We now feel safe and secure in our new home. We also had a water leak. It was fixed the next day. Where the plumber had to cut into the wall was repaired by a drywall person under the warranty. Those repairs would have been more than the cost of the home warranty. We took advantage of the getting the 2nd year coverage at a reduced rate. We felt that it would be a very wise idea to pay for the 2nd year warranty rather than risk paying much, much more if repairs were needed. All of the repair persons were very nice and took care of the problems very quickly. If we would have had to call someone for the repairs, it may have taken days or weeks until they could get to us because of their busy schedules. We are truly thankful for AHS and would recommend them to anyone wanting a home warranty. Thank you AHS!

We have used AHS twice now in the last two months for appliance repair. First the 13 year old refrigerator stopped working, and for the $75 deductible the circuit board was replaced, avoiding a new purchase of over $2000. A short time later the 4 year old dryer stopped working, which was a broken belt and a frozen idler wheel. Again, for the deductible of $75 a new wheel and bracket were ordered, and installed once they arrived. Both jobs were done by the same company, who usually arrive on the initial visit within 48 hours of us contacting AHS. Both repairs required a second trip as parts had to be ordered. They returned as soon as the parts were available and got both appliances working. My wife and I feel it is worth the cost of the annual policy to have the assurance that if something breaks down in our appliances, or other items covered under our policy, we can call AHS for repair or replacement.

I have purchased “home warranty” plans in the past - when purchasing a home, the seller will usually throw one in to sweeten the deal.... but, the plan from AHS was purchased for a home I have owned for a number of years... the salesperson contacted me by phone and I was very skeptical, but he didn’t demure at all about what was covered and what wasn’t...I was impressed and agreed to try it.... the first service call was for a plumbing issue and when I spoke to the representative to set it up, she asked me if there were any OTHER plumbing issues I would like to include on the service order....my first reaction was “yeah, for an additional charge”, but no! The rep assured me that there would only be ONE service copay ...so with that one service call, my dripping bathtub and occasionally running toilet were fixed, too! No tricks, no extra charge! The service techs are very professional, wearing “booties” over their shoes so as not to mess up my floors, explaining what they have replaced and fixed and then THANKING ME! Wow! These folks deliver what they say they will: convenient, no stress home protection!

AHS is a great home warranty company. I have used others in the past and their contractors aren’t the best. We have used AHS for our washer which turned out to be a plumbing issue. They smoothly transferred the work order to plumber. Issue was fixed very quickly. Microwave died, they replaced it. Sink was leaking bad it was fixed in a day. And just recently it got cold and furnace just stopped heating. I put in work order online at 9am. Contractor called at 3:30 said he could be here between 4 and 8. 4pm he walked in. 4:30 it was fixed. You pay a little more for this company than others. But you get what you pay for. Awesome company.

I've been using AHS since they've been with Century 21, and the Regional Reps have been great, and responsive to me and my clients. I most always put the Plan on a home when I list the home for sale, not only for the buyer, but my seller as well. Once in a while, a client doesn't want the program... but like one house I'm getting ready to close tomorrow... I suggested to my seller that we should put the program on her house (it was one of her rentals), she didn't want to... so instead of paying 775 for the plan, and then 80 bucks for the deductible .. she's paying $1900 to fix the HP. On my own house, and my condo... I've had AHS protecting me since day one!!.. AHS have replaced two compressors, one air handler, a fan on another, a hot water heater, a washing machine, the oven. Yep.... AHS comes through when you need them, for me, my family (it's on my daughters house too.. and my clients.

We bought a house. Moved in. And 3 days later the AC went out. I was 8 months pregnant and it was still 95+ degrees during the day. We put a work ticket in on the AHS website that night. Had an email about a contractor coming by the next day. It was determined that our HVAC system was beyond repair and not up to code anyway so AHS authorized a full replacement. Yes. A FULL REPLACEMENT. With a brand new heat pump! It took a few weeks to get in, but thats due to the contractors schedule, not AHS. I could not be more happy with this warranty company. We will be renewing our contract when the time comes.

We had an issue with our hot water heater that is covered under our American Home Shield Warranty...We placed a service request and it was responded quickly...AHS initial contractor was not able to meet our needs, but the second contractor assigned to our request was absolutely awesome! Bob Jones Heating and Energy...They showed up...Diagnosed the problem...Worked out what needed to be done - including the replacement of the hot water heater...Worked with AHS to get the required approvals...Less then 72 hours later - we were enjoying hot water again!...Bob and AHS did a great job in taking care of this issue in a timely manner...Recommend both highly!

Great service! Our refrigerator quit working, so we called AHS at 1:00 pm. The technician arrived by 3:00 pm. The part was replaced and fixed by 4:00 pm. That is a SUPERFANTASTIC service! The technician was very friendly and professional. He was well trained and knew exactly what needed to be fixed after a 5 minute examination. What’s better is the repair cost. It would have been close to $500. But with AHS we only paid the $75 service fee! American Home Shield is simply the best investment I have ever made. I highly recommend AHS for anyone who is a home owner. You won’t regret it and you will be happy you have it when your a/c breaks down. That’s a story for another day.... Get AHS!!!

Two years ago, I saw your commercial, and was very curious, so I did my research, and decided that I would purchase a home warranty, after all, I've owned my home for thirty years, and needed piece of mind. Sure enough, two years later, my central air goes, AND my wife JUST came home, bedridden from major reconstructive surgery.So American Home Shield to the rescue!!! Within no time, no only did the contractor call me, but came over the next day, verified the complaint, and I had a NEW central air unit!!! This is no joke!!! And not a paid endorsement!!! Just had a major issue with our gas furnace. The company sent for the service call (Double D Heating & Cooling) did an outstanding job of diagnosing problem and fixing same. The owner (Dan) was very competent and professional. It required two visits (a second part had to be replaced) and Dan was very courteous both times. He even taught us over the phone how to reset a couple of switches that had tripped. Will be calling him back to check out our A/C before summer. We have been quite happy with the service people AHS has sent to our home when we have called for service. We appreciate the quick response to our needs regarding home repair issues. I have been with AHS for about 3 years. Prior to AHS I had two other home warranty companies. The first company contracted with the worse companies that I used. The company was pretty good but they wanted to charge me monthly almost time and half of what I was already paying. AHS did not have good reviews, but a friend of mine stated they was with AHS and had been with them for years. So I went on and tried them. The majority of the companies they contract with is very good. But this one plumbing company they contract with have come to my home at least three times and neither time do they do a good job. The last time my hot water heater was leaking the first thing the tech did was call someone to renovate my home. Did not place a hose on my hot water heater to drain the water without causing me to much damage. It appears that they was in cahoots to get as much money out of me as possible. They were going to charge me the same as they were charging AHS. I had a fiiend come over and they school me that I need to have the water drain out of the hot water heater, The tech for that plumbing company I am sure was thinking about lining his pocket and renovator pocket. I fooled him and went with another company and did the payback that AHS offered. I used a company that AHS had sent out before. Since AHS would not let me switch that is why I took the flat rate reimbursement, they would not work with me. So if and when I need a plumber I will call AHS rather than go online and see if they still contract with the prefered plumbing company that I prefer to deal with. That plumbing company have an awesome tech, I would highly recommend that company. So, as I stated I will call in and try to get that company if they contract with AHS. I definitely do not want that lousy plumbing company in my home again to do nothing for me ever again. Other than that one gripe I think AHS is awesome and I would recommend them.

I had a leaky shower head and as the day worn on, the leak got worse. Late that day I called AmericanHome Shield, told them the problem and said I’d like a plumber the next morning...it was not an emergency. AHS called back with a plumbing company name and a time for the appointment. United Air Temp arrived the next morning. David was a great Workman. However, he could not turn the water off outside so called the county and they finally got here. David had to order parts. Got the parts, made the install and then we had to call the county to turn the water back on. It turned out the water had never been turned off (the house was built in the ‘70s) so the county had the proper tools to get the water off then on again. I stood beside David as he tested. No leaking. This morning’s shower was delightful. I’m happy with both AHS and UAT.

I have had to use my AHS insurance for four issues since purchasing my home in May 2017. Each request was handled efficiently and professionally. All the technicians were knowledgeable and able to complete the request in an hour or less. My first experience with AHS was outstanding. The order the technician had for my house had the old owner's address on it, and he made calls until he got the right information, and he came to my house right before his shift ended, took his time to survey the situation and made the repairs. He didn't have to stay late to complete the order, but he did, and that was really impressive to me. I'm grateful for the excellent work I've received so far, and while I hope I don't have to call anytime soon, I'm relieved to know the work will be handled in a professional and efficient manner.

It was easy and simple for my wife and I to make a claim within the first week after buying our house. We were so worried about some problems with our pipes and the plumbing. I filed the claim online in a matter of minutes with a few clicks and they gave me step by step information of who and when a plumber would be out to service our problem. He came first thing in the morning at 7am, and was extremely friendly. He had some of the best customer service of any tradesman I have ever met. I couldn't be more pleased and thankful my wife and I chose to go with American Home Shield for our first home together.

Our downstairs heating unit went out in the middle of the night. I put a request for service on American Home Shield website and received a phone call from a service provider at 9:00 a.m that next morning. This is the second time we have used our home warranty and both times American Home Shield has handled things very quickly and without any issues! In addition, both times we have been very impressed with the service providers sent to our home! This current issue was a quick fix nothing major. The first service we needed a new motor for our upstairs A/C unit. It was handled very professionally from start to finish! Highly recommend American Home Shield!!!

Outstanding program. I have had to use American Shield several times now as I have been a member for about 2 years. When I first signed up, I had my doubts as to what level of service I would receive. I have received absolutely outstanding, timely service. Using the website is SO EASY to request service. The service request is confirmed very quickly and sent the appropriate service provider. All the companies that have been used to take care of my repairs have been very prompt, professional and immediately resolved my problems. I really can’t say enough about my very positive experiences with American Home Shield and I will continue to renew with them! In January 2018 the secondary heat exchanger cracked in my furnace, American Home Shield replaced my furnace and they replaced it within two days. This is an excellent home warranty because whatever appliances break American Home Shield will fix it all you have to pay is the $75 service fee. I joined October of 2017 and my stove ignitor went out in November of 2017 and again all I paid was the $75 service fee and American Home Shield sent technicians from their own service companies both times to fix my stove and replaced my furnace. I have already started recommending American Home Shield to family and friends because this company actually fixed my appliances. The service company's technicians are very professional and thorough. I will always keep my home warranty with American Home Shield they are GREAT.

We insisted that the seller of our home provide a extensive coverage home owners policy. American Home Shield was the company they chose and they made the best decision ever. American Home Shield covered all of the problems that arose soon after we moved in with only a $75.00 deductible. We had a clogged pipe, a leaking pipe under our kitchen sink, then the hot water heater went out. We sure were very unhappy new home owners as your home is your biggest investment. I have never had a problem with reaching American Home Shield in regard to my repair issues. The contracting provider for my service through American Home Shield is Theel Plumbing, Electrical, Heating, and Cooling. Theel has surpassed my expectations regarding quick, friendly, well educated technicians that are quick to start the repair and complete it with me never having to worry that the issues will never show up again. The technicians clean up the area leaving it I must say better than it looked before they started. They have even come out after hours to fix a broken pipe now that is great service. American Home Shield has my business now for as long as I own my home. Thank you to American Home Shield for your wonderful warranty policies at a very affordable cost, contracting with Theel Plumbing, Electrical, Heating, and Cooling and that low deductible. I have already shared all of this with my friends and family to let them know what a great company American Home Shield is.

AHS has responded to my calls promptly and courteously. I have placed 2 repair needs in the 2 years I have been a customer. Repair company's have been promptly referred. One item was cleared up immediately. My 2nd call has been less successful. The repair service have been out twice, but the problem not resolved. It is working when they leave, and shortly there after right back to the same problem. This is how it works for me, maybe operates 2 out of 4 times. It was recommended I replace nearly $400 worth of parts, (which I did) and it was out of pocket, not covered parts by AMH. Unfortunately the garage door openers are still not working properly. I have had to make a 3rd call to AMH this week.

We had a great experience with Dreamwork Development . We were having our kitchen cabinets resurfaced and just thrilled with the results. The owner of the company always showed up on time and if he was going to be late, I always got a call. His crew of men were terrific. They showed up on time and cleaned up there mess daily. They were always polite and very kind. They would do whatever you wanted to make things easy. We needed a touch up paint job to make the kitchen look perfect. The owner did it at no charge. His motto is your home is my home and I want it perfect. I would highly recommend this company. They are very prefessional and great.

I've worked with AHS both as a contractor and a homeowner. My first contact with them was as a contractor where I immediately noticed how prompt they are at getting the homeowners up and running again hassle free. Once I purchased my home I knew I wanted AHS as our warranty company however we had to wait 2 years as the previous owners already had a policy with another company. Shortly after moving in we had a couple of problems and had to call the other company, after multiple calls and several other issues I quickly realized how much better AHS was and anxiously awaited for the contract to expire we have had AHS since.

Our ice maker went out on an old Wards refrigerator ( not sure of it’s age - but old.) When repair was not feasible, AHS offered several options for replacements. AHS REPRESENTITIVE made the suggestion that we could look ourselves for what we would like and being the weekend after Thanksgiving there were some very good sales going on. They offered up to $1100 if we replaced with a refrigerator of our choice. $1100 was considerably more than we had expected to replace ours. The rep suggested we get a refrigerator with at least a years warranty and even helped by suggesting several brands. What great customer service. Thanks.

We had some problems with our furnace and AHS replaced it without any hesitation. The local company they used to service our furnace was great! Professional and installed without any problems. The same week our panel boards in our refrigerator and freezer went out. The company AHS recommend was excellent. What I like AHS is, they support small business in your local area. Please remember the local business and their technicians are local and might have to order parts or a replacement items that might take a week or so, and then they can complete your work. AHS is a excellent company and stand by their mission of quality service. I am grateful to them.

While AHS is a great homeowner warranty company, I believe that they need to do a little more "vetting" of their contractors: AirTech (Airconditioning). The crew was great and completed the work as appropriate, but their office manager, I believe her name is Ashley is so rude to customers. I requested a detailed breakdown of my Airconditioner repair and she gave me such a hard time speaking all over me and not hearing out my request. I reported it to AHS and apparently they contacted Airtech. She sent my invoice via fax but not what I asked for (A DETAILED breakdown of my costs/charges) Especially the cost of the Freon. So I called her back to request the detail breakdown her response: "We charge at a "FLAT RATE". Not true; they sent AHS the cost of Freon at $70.00 per pound but charged me $100.00 per pound which they added (at least they say they added 10 pounds). But other than that, so far, so good AHS has met my expectations.

We received a year of home warranty coverage through our realtor. AHS was a wonderful first time home owner investment. The claim process is easy to navigate and getting things fixed is very simple. Our coverage was very comprehensive; really helped us as we navigated our first year of homeownership and learned about our house’s quirks and needs. We also met a lot of really great businesses whenever we needed something serviced. Being new to the area that was great to have a roledex of reputable businesses when something that wasn’t covered broke or needed repair. It’s easy to schedule an appointment online and whenever I interacted with customer service they were courteous and helpful.

We have had AHS for a number of years on both our home as well as a rental property. I think there has only been one year that we did not "use" our benefit. This is especially true if you have an old home / appliances. We just had to replace our dishwasher and didn't want the one they recommended as part of the package, so I ordered the one we wanted and they sent a check for $565 to my home. We only paid the difference for the extras we wanted. After the recent storms on the East Coast, it has been difficult getting through on the phone, but you can do everything online in less than 5 minutes. Great company and I recommend them highly.

I've had a AHS service contract for 12 years. Of course over the years my premiums have increased as-well-as the service trade fee. During the time with AHS, I've only experienced favorable customer service; either by phone or website claim submission. Over the years , I've had one hot water heater replaced with a new one, a range and ceiling fan repaired, AC serviced numerous times and numerous plumbing repairs performed. For each of the services described, I only paid the trade fee. No fuss, no hassle, no phone tag! And all the work was performed timely by very professional craftsmen. But the major repair was a total replacement of the return air system located in the attic. The system failed from rust and corrosion, and drain pan totally rusted out. I called in a service claim to AHS and they sent a AC tech out the following day. He discovered the situation I described above. He stated the system was beyond repair and would need totally replacement. This system is custom fabricated with various parts and sheet metal to fit the size needed for the home. It was summer time and a little over two weeks without AC before recovery. Again we only had to pay the trade fee. I'm sure the wait in the warm temperature was far less painful than that bill was to replace that system. AHS has been well worth the investment!

Do I have to give them a star?? HATE these guys - customer service has gone to hell. In the last 25 years there, service has gotten so bad. 1 - Give your service call to contractors that DON'T call you. Had to use someone else 2 - Give you a quote for pay out and lie. Went from $2,000 to $980 3 - Pay the upfront service call of $100 yet it seems they don't cover the cost of the service call. I pay monthly fees plus the service call and I'm still having to pay extra. 4 - Your customer service reps who answer the phone are reading from a script. Do not listen to the problem.

And they determined it was mice! Please tell me who has mice that they don't even know are in the attic under their control!

I carried a warranty with AHS for 10 years because I owned homes with aging AC systems. I’m 99% certain that I never made a claim that required more than my deductible to fix. My AC went out 9 days ago and it is July in Kansas which means the humidity is basically the same as the outside temperature. I have called several times each day and they are still unable to give me a timeline of when it will be fixed. The temperature is an actual health risk right now, so I’ve had to vacate my home and the humidity is murdering my hardwood floors and home office equipment. They won’t even let you talk to a supervisor when you ask. Just put you on hold for three minutes and then tell you the supervisors are too busy. You’re better off saving the monthly premium and handling your own equipment repairs

Garage Door opener broke (the springs). They are covered per the contract. Been over 30 days and NOT a single contractor with in 100 miles wants to work with AHS so they are forcing me to take a CASH-IN-LIEU offer. The offer is $170 when the CHEAPEST estimate i have is $580. AHS is stating they are only offering to pay for fraction of the cost because they aren't covering labor. NOW my contract CLEARLY states they are to pay a reasonable repair fee which include parts and labor. they are refusing... So I have to pay my $94 monthly fee. $125 service fee.... they are going to pay me $170. SOOOOO that means i lost $49 to them PLUS the $400-$600 for the repair. Tell me how that is service? So in the end it is costing me EXTRA money to have their service, not to mention the calls and frustration for the last 1.5 months. My car was trapped in the garage for 3 weeks. FYI their contract states 48 hours. It has been more than 48 DAYS. Why does the Government let companies steal money like this?

I would like to express my complete dissatisfaction with the terrible service at American Home Shield. I have been a loyal customer for years with American Home Shield and once something expensive like the water heater or A/C doesn't work they find ANY excuse not to pay. Last month, I reported to American Home Shield that my A/C was not cooling off. American Home Shield sent a third party company called "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" to inspect and fix my home A/C. "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" arrived at my home, make an inspection and took several photographs of the coil and A/C. After the inspection "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" sent a report to American Home Shield that the reason the A/C was not working was due to "Mold or Mildew" in the A/C. Based on this fact (which is a lie), American Home Shield informed me they will not cover the A/C coil replacement or labor due to "Mold or Mildew", they allegedly claim is present in the A/C coil and sent me an estimate of almost $4,500 dollars. I contacted American Home Shield to request the photographs containing the Mold or Mildew "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" claims my home A/C coil had as evidence. I was informed by American Home Shield that American Home Shield did not have these photographs and to contact "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" for these photographs. At the same moment, I called "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" and they informed me they could not share with me the A/C coil images containing Mold or Mildew, the A/C inspection report or provide a detailed estimate to me. They told me to contact American Home Shield directly as I was a Client of American Home Shield not their Client. Furthermore, "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" informed me that once they uploaded all the information online to American Home Shield, that information is gone from the "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" system. Since then, I had called six (06) times to American Home Shield, spoke with 3 associates, 3 supervisors and 1 customer complain department, asking for: a. the release of the A/C coil images containing Mold or Mildew; b. the release of the A/C full inspection report; and c. a copy of the detailed estimate for almost $4,500 dollars to know what is included in the estimate they provided. Therefore, either the company "American Home Shield", "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" or "both companies" together, want to take advantage of me as a customer one more time. For the lack of transparency of both companies until now, it gives the irrefutable impression that these companies are running a "FRAUD scheme"!!!!!!!!

I had service on my garage door that was not opening. Under the plan it states that springs are covered under warranty. I was charged for one spring and technician kept coming back stating that this needed replaced, and even referred to himself as "sounding like a used car salesman," b/c of all the padding he was doing of "what needed fixed." It ended up costing me over $1500 to get repaired. I had no clue what the total was until I was presented with the total bill and shock of it. I will not be renewing based on this one experience. I feel I was taken advantage of by the company who was sent to fix the garage door.
