Last month, I called AHS regarding an issue with my hot water heater. The pilot light went out, and It needed to be re-lit. AHS promptly sent a technician to my home the same day, and he re-lit my hot water heater with no probblem. Thanks AHS.

I had a ceiling leak on 7/25 and they sent a Plumber out right away. I was pleased. However he discovered that the leak was my air conditioning and that company couldn't come out until 8/11 which is tomorrow. Whew! I have called them everyday for a cancellation, to no avail.

All of these years I’ve been a customer and can say I’ve had only 2 bad experiences with service providers; however when I notified AHS about the issue, they rectified it. The only other thing is that I wish AHS let the customer choose the provider they want to come out to their home. As well there needs to be more vetting done if the service providers!

I was told by other people that AHS takes forever to send out a service call, but when my AC went down Sunday night and I put the service request in, I had someone at my house fixing it by Monday afternoon. Don’t believe everything you hear. I have had to only utilize them once so far and they exceeded my expectations.

We’ve had to submit 3 claims to AHS in the last year and a half. AHS quickly responded, arranging for a service technician to look at the problem within 2-3 days. All problems were resolved to our satisfaction, although we did have to wait on replacement parts to be ordered and shipped.

Overall it’s been good but the communications at times with some agents lately has been extremely frustrating. Or takes more to explain things. I have to request to speak with a supervisor. I understand your call center is not here in the states and I try to be patient. Most times things have been fine but as few times they have made a already stressful situation of needing service, even more stressful. Last week I had water back up in my basement and still progressing. The agent told me to wait 2 days. I was already upset that the request for a return repair I submitted on Saturday was canceled out by your system because it didn’t read it as a return. Monday I was expecting a call for service so I called myself and that’s when I came across this agent that told me to wait another 2 days. We didn’t realize it was still accumulating over the weekend. Slow but still steadily. I could not wait 2 days. He first told me he didn’t see any calls for the toilet to begin with even though a ahs plumber had already been out 3 times. I asked for a supervisor. He told me one wasn’t available. We went back and forth. I told him them get someone else to get on the phone. He kept telling me to call back in. I refused because I didn’t want to start all over again. Eventually someone must have helped him because he pulled up the visits for the toilet and finally said he would put the repair in as expedited. Luckily the plumber was familiar And they squoze me in the next day.

Great customer service. First contractor sent out for hot water tank repair inflated repair charge. American Home Shield offered another option for the repair. The replace repair was completed by another company at less than half of the initial quoted repair charge.

I was worried about jumping through a lot of hoops, but AMS was the easiest experience I can imagine. I contacted them on a Monday, had an appointment with a repair person on Tuesday. The washing machine couldn't be repaired, so I selected a brand new replacement on Wednesday. The following Wednesday, the new washer was delivered and installed.

The only problem I have is that we know there's a leak in our A/C system. According to the company, we had to go through steps by filling up our A/C and having to pay $200 for it, before we can even order the parts to replace and fix where the leak is. The company knew we had a leak but now this process takes longer and my family is without A\C longer because we have to wait for the part all because of this unnecessary step.

I've used them several times in the last year. I always got contacted quickly by the tradespeople who came here and fixed the problems. I've more than gotten my money's worth, especially calling for plumbers and electricians, both of which, even counting the $100 fee per call, would have cost more than the yearly cost of AHS.

Fairly good. Only one issue, and it's a BIG one. Three weeks without air conditioning. No reason for that!! Customer service has been extremely slow. In addition to that, the customer service agent couldn't explain why the "out of pocket" price was so high. Stated that I needed to contact the air conditioning company and ask "why the charges are so high"? When I contacted the company and asked that very question, it was simply that my policy didn't cover the refrigerant. Why couldn't American Home Shield tell me that? It would be nice to speak with a representative that was easier to understand as well!

I recently had to replace my refrigerator. I opted to get reimbursed because the area where fridge had to go was very tight. I felt better about selecting the fridge. The check was received within a week. Hardest part of talking with American Home Shield is when I get a representative on the line that has very broken English.

My dishwasher was not working properly so I called for service. Within 48 hours, a contractor had inspected the unit and determined the problem. From there, AHS decided to replace the unit instead of repairing it. Great experience!

We really liked them last year. We had a couple of appliance problems, and they were really great with good customer service. This year, our AC went out, and it was a completely different experience. The AC company that they work with is extremely shady. The guy who came to go over numbers with us was the most bullying salesman I have ever encountered, and was so rude and off-putting that I got rather contentious with him. Once he figured out that he couldn't take advantage of us, it was clear he was ready to leave. Then, he told us that AHS would be paying $2000 (and was still going to charge us a huge amount out-of-pocket), but when we went to ask for a cash-in-lieu offer from them (because we didn't trust him to do the work or give us a fair price), they said that he invoiced them for $340, so that's all they would give us. They had no process for appealing or changing that number. I think that the AC contractor (Air Dynasty) is charging them practically nothing so that they will continue working with him while trying to get all the cash out of the customer, but telling the customer that AHS is paying a lot more so that they don't feel unfairly treated. I could never get them to understand that or even to send me the invoice that he had sent them, so all I got out of them for a $10,000 AC replacement was $340. I would say, if someone has old appliances, it may be worth the investment, but with issues involving more labor such as AC and plumbing, it is not worth it.

We have used AHS 5 times. Each time, they were fast and efficient. I have had no issues. They go above and beyond to make sure the customer is happy. Our AC went on mid July in Texas. They had a company out who had the part replaced in 2 hours. I cannot brag enough

The experience I had they sent out masterpro to my home bad service they kept stating it was the lint screen and I told them that was not it. I purchase a new one and dryer still did not dry call masterpo manager said because I gave her service tech bad review he will not come back out and she as a manager rude which I did not want that tech back out he was here like 15 minutes. That company American shield sent out there should drop them and read the reviews with company and manager one star. When I tried to to speak with manager at American took three days kept getting the run around until my son tried and told them we not hanging up. After all that American shield got A E factory out and Dave service tech was excellent and he died the problem and it's like I have a new dryer.

Generally on simple request AHS does well. Now trying to replace a water heater recently it has taken almost two weeks for AHS to move on the issue. I spent countless hours trying to resolve issues with overseas call centers that were useless. AHS essential has customer service agents that must work in closets without any contact to other AHS departments and can only read from scripts. Worse if you call more than once the narrative changes. The call center agents have no understanding of the issue or how to resolve it. The customer has no means to recitify a problem with an AHS decision of repair. The customer agent doesn't apparently have that tool either. Corporate resolution is not possible since the executive staff is insulated from the customer. While after doggedly pursuing a resolution the service provder was able to convince AHS to change their decision of repair.

Very conflicted on my answers, up until recently I have felt very positive about AHS, but issues with an air conditioner claim has rapidly changed my outlook. I have spoken with a customer rep twice and both were polite but seemed limited on the information they could share with me. I have requested copy of my contract and copy of cost of materials neede for repair and have yet received them. I would love to be able to speak with a person authorized to address my questions but it seems difficult to do so and this causes trust issues. We have heard some unfavorable stories of other’s experiences and I am hoping for better results!!!

My first call to AHS was for a garbage disposal. It was replaced, no issue. While I had the plumber at my house, I asked him why my water pressure was so low. He checked and told me my water regulator needed to be replaced. He said he couldn't replace it because he didn't have my type on his truck, but to call AHS and request they send out this same plumber. I put in another claim for the regulator and asked for the same plumbing company because they were aware of the problem and knew what I needed. Instead they sent another company that came out and said they needed to replace the regulator but added more things. AHS would only pay a certain amount to replace it. I spoke with someone at AHS, they said it wasn't covered. The person I spoke did not speak English very well and wasn't sure what a regulator was. I asked to speak to a supervisor, in the U.S. They said I would have to call back and hope to get someone in the US. What a runaround. They finally agreed they would pay me a certain amount if I wanted to go to a plumber of my choice. The amount would not cover the cost of the part and the service charge. There were so many rules for them to give me the amount that I declined their offer. I chose to have a friend replace the item for a fraction of the amount a plumber would have charged.

Air Conditioning fan went out with temps in the upper 80's. Called in to AHS. A technician was quickly assigned and the malfunction corrected with little fanfare. There is/was an older person in the home so this expedited service was much appreciated.

Usually good repair people. However, some do not explain things very well & Customer must insist on invoice for work done. AHS must make sure contractor follows contract with AHS. In the past I have been given an invoice copy, without asking. Lately I've been told that "everything is paperless". Some contactors have emailed the invoice copy to me. Others have not; which means I must call contactor & request it & report that their employee did not follows AHS contract.

5 stars for on e my realtor gave me the district managers info. Once I got ahold of her it was smooth sailing. Customer service kept telling me there was nobody available in my area anymore and said there were no more options. Somehow options presented themselves the moment the DM took over.

The first time I tried to use AHS it was great - Crockett Lock rekeyed my house and they were very nice. The second time i needed AHS concerned my air conditioner It was on a Saturday and our AC wasn't cooling. I called and they charged me the $75 and gave me a provider and they wouldn't be open till Monday. My husband had a stroke 1 1/2 years ago and its hard for him to be without air. I called AHS back and they ( after about 1 hour of questioning) gave me permission to call another AC company that could come right out. They said that they weren't on their bad list ! I called McWilliams and Sons ( the approved company) and they said that they could come right out BUT that they didn't work with AHS and that we would have to pay the service charge of $80. We did and they came and fixed it. I tried to get my money back from AHS since I had to pay the other company. When I called I just got the run around. The next time I tried to use AHS I had a problem with the gas line to my gas stove. I called and they said that wasn't covered even though I had been told that they covered that. I hope we don't have a problem with our gas heater - they probably won't cover that either ! I did my research and really thought this was a good company BUT I am very disappointed in the service that I have gotten so far. Everyone that I have talked to when I called in was VERY hard to understand.

Happy with company for the most part. I received assistance when needed but serveral times I had yo speak to customer service and manager to get issues resolved. It is very difficult to get a manager and to understand customer service. One of the issues is a language barrier. Also, monthly rate change annual. I was with another company and the rate never changed.

We are happy. We had two things to go out on us at the same time. The plumbing issue is resolved and we are still waiting on parts for our central air. Once that's repaired we will be very pleased. We've experienced some extremely hot days this June and July.

The company is nice and was quick to send someone to check out the problem; however after the person came out they did not contact my wife and myself to let us know that there would be a 500+ fee for the company to come out and fix the issue. Also American Home Shield customer service is not in the US it is in India it would seem and seems a little off to be american home shield and no american customer service reps. All in all was a pretty good expierence and my problem got taken care of efficiently

I have had multiple issues with my Kenmore refrigerator and two open calls were made and there was an issues with obtaining parts, so American Home Shield determined that they could not fix appliance after a number of months. So they purchased a new refrigerator. Amazing service!!!

The service techs were knowledgeable and professional. They thoroughly checked the heater and advised it is safe for now. The small crack will eventually get bigger but for now I can continue to use the heater. I appreciate their honesty

So far, I no complaints. Great Customer Service: My questions are always answered; The approved Technicians are respectful and very knowledgeable and the replacements appear to be good quality (except for not having a white dishwasher, so I had to chose stainless - I still wish it was white.

We like the company and the services. Some of their contractors are awful and don't want to work. Thankfully they are far and few between. The ones who want to do a good job are professional and efficient at their job. I dont want to put anyone off. Just be aware. Call AHS back and they will make sure you are taken care of. I have had several home warranties and this is hands down the best company.

The online service request process is very easy but I did not like that I had multiple issues with the same type of service provider needed but it would not allow me to request service for multiple issues without filling out a new request. And the provider could not address the issue without a new service request. It seems like a waste of time, money, and resources.

They always seem to find a way not to cover items. Plumbing repair: they send out inexperienced plumbers/contractors who on many occasions incorrectly misdiagnosed a problem, said it was not covered, I had to personally fix the problem at my own expense. It was a simple fix which only required a change of cartridge. It took time and youtube videos to figure it out. Be aware of the lazy high water pressure diagnosis by their subcontractors. I have 2 houses and they used it on both. Of course AHS will not cover, however the subcontractor will offer to fix at a cost between $250.00 to $800.00 depending on the company. The customer service is poor. Typically, I spoke to someone and there was a language barrier. They don't record prior problems well, so every time you have to rehash the problem. On a positive note, I have had great experience with their appliance subcontractors and that is why I have kept the policy.

Fast and wonderful service providers. We left our other home warranty because of poor service and their service providers were horrible. We had our first service request with AHS in over a year and what a difference. So glad we made the change and will highly recommend them to others.
