I liked the simplicity of the online Service Request process. I liked the fact that it was approved, a service vendor selected, the vendor information was provided, and the service vendor set the date, and time-window for us in less than 24 hours. The Service Provider was polite, courteous, and professional and completed the service request in a very timely manner. They were clean and left the house in a clean and orderly state. I have had several claims with AHS in the three years I have been with them and each time they have been very easy to file the claim online, the response was quick, the service technician was on time and thorough, and my issue appropriately solved. The co-pay is fair and I have had no complaints with AHS.

I really like the way the website is organized and it was able to answer all of my questions especially what is covered in a home warranty and why it’s worth the money based on the normal cost of replacing a broken appliance. I also like the add on features to the plans to include electronics and pools. Everything is very customizable

I’ve used American Home Shield for well over 12 years. In general they do what they say. Unfortunately they always say they prefer to fix rather than replace. I understand that approach to keep their bottom line thriving but it also puts the burden on their clients (me) and their vendors to prove that it is better to replace something. They also don’t like people who actually use their service. When I first got the service I used it a lot to get things fixed that needed to be fixed. However, after a few years they not only raised my rate (understandable) but they more than doubled the rate (not understandable).

I've used multiple home protection plans. I use American Home Shield for their Electronics Protection Plan. Our phones are NOT covered, but I wanted the Home theater, gaming system, computers and TV's covered. And we are! Great company. Fast response too.

Shortly after we moved in our refrigerator started leaking and American Home Shield warranty made us pay no money out of pocket for the repair. I’ve been with AHS for 7 years and they have been great! Never had an accident issue getting service. Only thing that I wish was a little better was the wait time to get a technician out to my house. The turnaround is a bit longer since they set everything up for you then you just calling a company directly for the specific issue your having.

AHS has been my warranty company 4 years +, in that time I have had a garbage disposal, furnace,air conditioner and ice maker need service.I call and as soon as they can they have a repair company call me to fix the item.I am really glad that I chose American Home Shield.

Limited number of companies/3rd vendors with bad reviews work with AHS. If the repair is simple and easy, then there will not be any problem. If the technician can not repair, then he looks to find a big problem to prove there is no coverage. In the contract, it is mentioned that if they can not repair an appliance, they should replace it. It will happen if it is kitchen faucet or fridge filter. If it is AC or Washer and dryer, the case is different. They will find a way to say there is no coverage, and you as customer are responsible to take care of the issue. Their warranty is not what they promised in their contract.

I received this coverage from the seller when I purchased my house and later repurchased for myself. It was very easy to use when I had a plumbing issue and the work was completed as promised. It is somewhat inexpensive and I would recommend it especially when buying a new home that you don’t yet know everything about.

I have been with this company for 14 years and I only gave them three stars, right?! It is very convenient to have someone come into your home for a $75 charge and repair what is wrong. That being said, my monthly payment has increased quite a bit since we first became customers and are weighing whether or not to continue with the service. The companies they send do a decent job even though they all get bad reviews. Our 26 year old AC went about four years ago. Although the company says they will replace things covered if they are unable to fix it, they did not pay for our AC in full. They gave us $2300 and we had to pay the difference. These are the things I would tell friends if they inquired about the company and I would let them make their own decision.

AHS is a decent home warranty company. I have used them to refer me to many reputable companies that have serviced my townhouse. $75 service calls give you a piece of mind that you will not be hit with an expensive unscheduled repair.

I love this company, especially in the summer and winter. I just make an appt online and pay my $100. Service call. A company will contact me the next day (as long as it’s not the weekend) and they will be out to make the repair. I have used them multiple times, never had an issue. Easy to use.

I have been a very satisfied customer of American Home Shield for years. I have contacted them with appliance issues and it is painless. Stuff wears out, and when it does you can call or go to the AHS website and request service. The repairman comes out and problem solved! Really, what more could you ask?

We have had American Home Shield for several years and worked with them for repairs several times. Overall, I have been thankful to have the protection and peace of mind. The process however can be lengthy and I wish that consumers had more choice in the service provider we would like to work with. When our a/c went out last summer we had a very difficult time coordinating repair. All of the repair companies were understandably busy, it took many phone calls with lengthy wait times, but we were able to finally obtain a waiver to choose a repair company on our own because the AHS providers were either unresponsive or too busy and unable to meet the service level agreements. The situation was stressful, but I received my reimbursement as promised.

Horrible experience! They’ve been taking my premiums for 5 years. I had a small water leak and they denied my claim stating my home’s water pressure exceeds 80psi. Nowhere in their agreement or contract does it state I need my home to have water pressure under 80 psi. Stay away - choose another company

The problem is no one in my area will deal with this company when something breakdown. I have to hire outside help and pay out of pocket. I would love to get out of my contract with this company but unfortunately I’ll be paying a fee to them for 7 more months for nothing.
