Processes are changing to make things better for AHS and customers but the communication in the notes are not updated so all reps are able to see last interaction. Customers should not have to repeat information that the last rep provided. I was told different things from different reps. Where a rep told me that I was wrong about a process that another rep told me was the correct process. Through her research she repeated to me the same thing I told her. There has to be a better way to record notes on a workorder. The confusion between reps on the workorder process would be the reason I change companies. I would rather a smooth process of when the contractor sends report back to AHS, AHS contacts (via phone or email) customer within 24-48 hrs no matter the department. This gives the customer a feeling the AHS is attending to the customers needs and not blowing me off. I have been calling AHS for a week and a half to get an update on my dishwasher workorder, getting the run around calling the contractor and AHS. Everyone is pointing the finger at each other but no one is taking responsibility for their part. This really needs to change. And I have asked for over 3 yes to change my name from Scott to Evans and I still get calls from AHS and contractors calling me Mrs. Scott.

They never stand behind their work. Calling and speaking to the reps is very difficult as they are limited in what they can do. I have asked and demanded that I speak to a supervisor but it's nearly impossible. 3 days in a row I was promised to get a call back which never came. On my 4th call, which puts me over 2 hours of talking to you, someone finally transferred me to a supervisor who helped me. The main issue is that you should have some common sense on unresolved matters. If it's a couple days out of warranty, then there should be a way for them to make exceptions. Also, I found that on this particular incident, they claimed there is only one company in that area. My rental is in a large suburban city. Why is it they only have one garage contractor? I didn't want the same people who messed up before to come back out but I didn't have a choice.

However, the customer service reps took care of me, the 2nd time around, but it took a long time to get my money back. I felt like I was getting the runaround for a while. My last experience went well, and customer service rep changed the original contractor that was going to service my washer. The reason for that was because that contractor was rated one star. Very pleased she did that

First of all "star selections" were not my choice. Was preselected without able to change them. In 23 years with AHS this has been my worst experience. While I can appreciate that FL was hit with a major hurricane, I do not appreciate being lied to as far as getting contractors to my home in a timely fashion. As I explained in my original cal for service, contractors in Ft Myers, Cape Coral and surrounding areas were hit extremely hard by the hurricane and were not in operation to servce calls. I asked for a contractor out of area to be sent to my home. This could not be acomplished as no authority is given to those located in Columbia or the Phillipines. Of course numerous calls to AHS corporate office went unanswered. I was lied to by representatives who told me certain local contractors were available. When I called the contractors myself, I received recordings stating "due to the hurricane we can not service calls". In a time of need, while I can appreciate certain contractors were unavailable, I can not appreciate being lied to. My clothes dryer can not be repaired and your appliance purchasing dept tried to low ball me with a machine inferior to what I own. After going back several times, i finally agreed to a payout well below the cost of the machine I purchased, which is exactly like my old clothes dryer. I specifically gave the purchasing dept the exact model number of the same dryer I had but, it went on deaf ears. I am still waiting for my dishwasher to be fixed. While I was told parts were delivered on Oct 14th to the contractor, that also turned out to be false. The contractor then called your parts dept and was told parts would be delivered Oct 19th. Of course, he still had not received the necessary parts and therefore can not schedule an appointment for my repair. As I stated, I have been with AHS for 23 years, I have NEVER experienced such poor service. I have recommend AHS to friends and family over the years, now I am a little leery of doing this moving forward. In 23 years, in three of my residence, we have had maybe 10 work orders started. It seems AHS has made out far better with me they I have with them, moneywise. Not being able to speak with executive relations is a bad practice.".

I had a problem with my oven in August and they sent someone from Searis. The guy did not check the oven, even though we told him sometimes it heats and sometimes it does not. The day he came, the oven came on and 2 days later it wouldn't heat. It was doing this off and on. I told him that it was the igniter. He didn't bother to check the oven and tried to tell us how to turn the oven on. We have been living her e for 15 years and of course we know how to work an oven. I was charged the 75 dollars for the deductible and did not receive the proper service. We went on vacation a month later and when we returned the oven was out again. We called American Home Shield and we were serviced by Star Appliances. They were very thorough, found the problem which was the igniter, and fixed it. They were courteous and experienced. So I paid 75 dollars for the same problem. American Home Shield never reached out to me about the first company, Seamus, even though I complained.

I recently had to use the service several times for the month and all my issues were handled professionally by the service guys. My only negative comment is that when you ask for service on an item that has more than one problem it does not allow me to cover all those item in just one visit. For example, I had my fire detectors that needed to be serviced but they could only do one per visit unless i call to increase but to get to speak to a live agent is time consuming.

I had some problems solved but ended up calling people back to correct things after their five star rating was given. I had requested the creepy plumber guy not to come back to my home and they contracted him at least 2 more times. He never fixed anything. The people that did didn't do it correctly and had to be called back out. I think the list of contractors is in alphabetical order and you get whatever is at the top of the list the last furnace guy made me want to change service as I don't have heat in my home and he never touched my furnace but told me I needed an electrician in order for it to work. The electrician was awesome because all he did was prove I didn't need him and then I didn't trust the furnace tech to come back out and do the actual work. Horrible experiences

The rep that helped was professional, proficient and willing to give guidance outside the initial repair. Great customer service. My only issue is that the repair came on a holiday weekend and the call center rep said someone would call back and schedule as I had child with needs and dogs that needed the air. No one ever called back. So I had to call on Tuesday to get the original rep assigned to come out.

Because parts were not available my range top needed to be replaced. AHS sent me options. There was only one offered the correct size and that was out of stock. My range too that had to be replaced was a Viking. Whirlpool and GE were offered. They did finally send me a check, which I appreciate, but it was only about 50% of amount the new unit cost.

I did not give 5 stars because my appliances need to be replaced and the replacements that are offered are very limited, I can't afford to buy appliances from elsewhere and then get reimbursed and the Lowes option is good, but Lowes is very expensive which would cause me to have to pay alot out of pocket.

The kitchen drain was plugged up. I called and made my complaint, drain plugged up and sump pump not working, both are covered by my policy. I paid my deductible and was scheduled for repair, the drain was eventually fixed by flushing the water line and it's fine now. But I was told by the plumber's the sump pump wasn't to be fixed, it still doesn't work, at least my kitchen drain was fixed.

They worked very hard to get someone to my house to fix my refrigerator, but the 1st contractor could not do the work and another had to be found, that took seve ral days and in total I was without a refrigerator for 3 weeks. The second repair man was very good and fixed t he compressor and repaired whatever else was the problem. However American Home shield representative informed me because we had to wait so long for the repair, they would reimburse me $50.00 of my $100. fee, I have not received that as yet.

For the most they are good as long as you don't have a problem. I had a problem with a contractor not performing and being non responsive. I reported this to American Homeshield and at first they seemed like they were going to take care of the situation. However now I feel like I am getting the run around as they told me they were escalating to the contractor management team and I would hear a response back within 24-48 hours and it's now going in to week 4. At this point this open ticket that I am trying to get assistance with has been open since March and I'm feeling scammed out of my money. This last call to American homeshield I asked for a refund for the service call to fix my microwave. It shouldn't take this much time to resolve my issue and concerns. In this amount of time I could've purchased a new microwave and had it installed by now. I'm very frustrated and considering canceling my subscription.

Our mini split AC system had to be replaced. We contacted American home shield to find out what brand of unit. And we were never successful after hours and hours on the phone with your representative and broken promises of return calls. You referred us to a vendor who would not be able to tell us what brand American home shield would be shipping to them to replace in our home, of like unit.You referred us to a contractor, Comfort First, and we feel like we were in trapped by paying $400 for basically nothing and paid $400 for permits that cost $75 and you would not ship the AC unit until we paid the vendor. We feel this is very unethical and it did not benefit us, the customer.Our biggest complaint was being lied to from American home shield put on long wait times from American home shield, and not being told what unit they would ship to Comfort First to be installed in our home, and we just had to except what ever American home shield decided to send to Comfort First. We had a carrier unit and expected American home shield would have replaced it with a carrier unit of the same capacity and quality of our carrier unit. They did not. we made countless phone calls to your representative, will lie to, and we felt were deceived by your representatives. The only people we could communicate with with good commute with was to go through your sales department.

I rate AHS 4.5 stars. They abide by their agreement and don't try to weasel out. If they cannot fix it, they will replace it with a comparable item. We have used AHS for several years. In that time they have replaced our refrigerator, a standard water heater and a tankless water heater, our garbage disposal, our microwave, our hot tub blower, and they have done several plumbing repairs and other appliance repairs. Our only complaint is that it can sometimes take a while to go through the repair and then replacement process.

AHS has made filing for service available online. I can make my request 24/7 and it will be taken care of as soon as they get to work the next morning. I can't give a 5 because we have had a couple of times that AHS could not find a specialist that I needed for the problem in my house, but finally they allowed me to contact a specialist who would work with AHS to resolve my issue.

The process that it took to get my air conditioner replaced was tiresome and unneccessary. According to your policies, it never should have taken so long. I tried last summer to get it replaced and could not get it replaced. Finally this summer, I was able to get it replaced after paying another $100.00 deductable after the same company said that it needed to be replaced last year. I have NEVER received my $25 referral fee for the following customers; specifically, PRESTON G, ADESHOLA A, and TONYA C. I referred 3 people to your company and received ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! The last person that I referred was Tonya C and like I stated, I did not receive the $25 gift card. American Home Shield owes me $75 for referrals and I have received absolutely nothing. Please credit my account or send me the $75. That is the least that your company should do for me.

They always had a service person respond very quickly. The service people were always professional, and they dealt resolved our issues quickly. Our only complaint is that they won't replace something until it is totally beyond repair. We had a 17 year old air conditioning unit that had a problem that caused it to stop, and leak, causing ceiling damage. Instead of replacing it, they wanted to fix a part. Rather than risk more ceiling damage again soon, we had another company replace it, and dropped our American Home Sheild.

Overall fairly easy to work with. They never have any contractors in our area. They are all from out of town which makes our down time a little longer, but they have always come thru in gettingus back up and going. As with any warranty company they will always try every way in the world to repair it, no matter how long it takes, before they will replace it.

AHS has been quick to respond to my questions and requests for service. Coverage is very good. There has been no delays in sending my information to their contracted service technicians. My only complaints have been with the service received by the technicians. I would like to have the option to choose which company will complete the service request.

Fairly prompt service after making service appointment. Serviceman was very polite and promptly input his service call response into the system. Once in the system, because no repair parts available, I received American Home Shield's replacement offer quickly. Offering several ways to receive the money. I chose buying new appliances with a reimbursement check for the amount offered. Currently waiting for the check in the mail.

Overall, I rate the company good. My most recent experience was exceptional. However, about two years ago I had a negative experience with a plumbing company they sent. The company just tried to sell me $1000+ in "needed" products I didn't need. I found out I didn't need them by talking with other professionals and also Yelp checking the company. It had an extremely poor rating with most reviewers saying their experience with the company was due to AHS sending them.

American Home Shield has set up a language barrier between their employees and their customers. For example the employees have an accent to their customers and their customers have an accent to the employees. This is absolute confusion and extremely frustrating for the employees and the customers. Something truly needs to be done about this situation you can't get anything done. The other complaint I have is with you guys if one has a big ticket item for example such as a furnace you have guidelines set in place to force the customers to purchase their own furnace up front and you will reimburse them. I asked would receive the entire cost of the furnace back I was told no and they were not even able to advise me of any money for reimbursement. The information I did receive was after speaking with several employees because I had to call several times until I could connect with someone that I understood and they understood me as well. Question what is the benefit in having you guys Home Owners Warrenty? I don't have enough funds to upfront purchase a furnace these type of items one needs assistance with the sole purpose of investing into a Home Owners Warrenty is for help when you don't have enough funds to replace big ticket items.

They refused to refund the $75 I paid for a service to check out my air conditioning unit. He lied, as proved by the second service tech from another company. The potential scammer told me my unit only had 1/2 pound of Freon, and that AHS would buy my another air conditioning system. Then he added that they would not pay for any of the $2,000 + installation charges. He also told me when I asked about what sounded like a twig getting caught in the blades after thinking for a minute, that a piece of dangling plastic was making the noise, but he used a zip tie to keep it out of the way. I had a gut feeling that he was a liar. I requested a service call from a different company. He told me my unit was in great condition, no Freon was missing, there was no zip tie in the unit, and before he cleaned it he showed me all the packed leaves the first guy didn't hose out. I don't think I should get a refund for the liar that tried to scam me because I'm a woman. This $75 is a huge sticking point that I will use when I decide if I am going to renew my contract with AHS next year.

now I'm not necessarily upset with American home shield I'm pissed off at Sears who came out to look at my washing machine. This is why I'm upset. And American home shield won't help me for Sears to be reasonable on a appointment date to install a part on my washing machine that has arrived at my home. So I'm sort of mad at American home shield? Not really. Sears is the one that's not working with me on a mutually good date for final service to install this part in my washing machine.Because my washing machine which I did receive the part at my home my appointment I was told I had to have my appointment between an early date and a late date and that I had to call if I couldn't have a service member out between the earliest date and the latest day. I've called three times all three times they told me there's nothing they can do and I keep telling them I'm not going to be home in the time frame of the earliest State and the latest date I was told by the service guy that came out to just take the latest service date and then call and I called three times and you're telling me you can't do anything about it. So I guess whether I cancel or don't cancel the appointment date that I currently have I won't be home when the service member comes out and I'm not there or if I cancel, I can't get another date. Very frustrating. It's a joke! I'm basically being told I picked the date it's between the earliest date for a service call and the latest day. And if I can't meet the service guy in that time frame then I guess the part sits in my home and nobody comes out to install the part. And American home shield won't pay for another service member to come out and start this process up again. So Sears has failed me! I'm so pissed off I can't tell you.

My air conditioner was running but not cooling. Called one company out to look at and they said I needed a new air conditioner , meaning thousands of dollars. Called AHS and for $75 another company came out, was prompt, professional and fixed my unit in less than an hour!

I decided to get AHS when I bought my home in April 22 in Aug of 22 my oven had some issues and needed replaced! I paid my service fee and they got me a brand new oven at no cost to me! They also do my ac system once a year for free so it's basically worth it! I love it in this short time I have it!
