I cancelled my contract with them effective 06/01/2021 after being a customer for several years. The vendors they use seem frustrated having to deal with them and I question the quality of their work. Last year a vendor fixed my furnace with a part that was “makeshift”. I found this out when we put in a new furnace this year. We took cash in lieu because we had such a run around with American Home Shield.

Because there is no ZERO STAR. Contractors are inexperienced and/or sub-par. With AHS, you can never speak with a supervisor because they are always “in a meeting” or “unavailable right now”. If you start complaining to the clerks answering the phones (in Manila!) they hang up on you. “The part order is in process” was the response I got for 14 days in a row.

The commercial says no unexpected bills. There are so many exclusions that I spent over 4K getting my air fixed. I understand Freon but not the other exclusions. Then I my microwave door handle broke off. They decided a door is cosmetic and refused to pay for it. So I pay motherly charge, the $100 for service call and for the door to be replaced.

Very disappointed I now need to hire another professional to resolve my issue of a nonsealed drain causing water stains on the ceiling in the room below.

I just received a letter from AHS telling me that they will not be renewing my contract after 6 years of being with them. I guess they want you as a customer as long as you are not using their service. I was left feeling pretty slimey about the ethics of this organization.

Because I do not like the part where we pay every month and when we need you we still have to come out of pocket for more than expected. Instead of putting it in small print you should highlight it more. For what you are paying for those two part you could have just purchase a new one since my main parts needed replacement. I pray that I am getting all new parts and not refurbish parts.

They send out horrible companies to do repairs who often have very low ratings. Customer service people are awful and keep asking you the same qsts you've already answered. They also charged me twice for 1 call and it took awhile for them to see it was their error and reimburse us. They have canceled our repair request without notifying us, or their vendor cancelled because they couldn't do the repair, but didn't notify us.

First exposure, several calls were unanswered. When I finally got through, it was the height of summer and our air conditioner went out. I was told they could have someone come out in three weeks. The second call was about our furnace leaking water. It took them a few days to find someone in our area, but he did do a good job.

Evaporator Coil leaked, AHS vendor American Airconditioning up-charged $2,200. I elected the cash option $ 678.00. If AHS only covers $678.00. Why use them, l can use my vendor of choice, whom l trust and they provide quality service at a fair price. AHS charges monthly fees a service charge when shady vendors come out, and the they never fully cover major repairs. You are better off saving your money and going with someone you trust.

There seems to be a reason that something isn’t covered. You don’t know that until you spend $75 to have a sub contractor give that estimate. So far AHS has cost me more money than it would have cost me to “insure” myself!
