I wish I had read these reviews before I upgraded to their new system. This company is the absolute worst in the business. Their equipment is expensive and doesn't work half the time. I can't wait to get rid of this company. I was a loyal customer for years, but they are not loyal to you. It is just ridiculous how they are allowed to scam their own customers. When this contract is up, I am out.....

I would give a zero if I could!! Worst experience ever!! After the “sale” 3 missed appointments for the install. Techs run their own show and the customer service/ company in general have no control over who is coming in your home or when. Each missed appointment has just been a waste of time!! DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO TOUCH ANYTHING IM YOUR HOMW OR WASTE YOUR TIME!! The Better Business Bureau has been contacted and this is the norm for this company. Check the BBB before agreeing to service!

I have had this system for one year and I've had them out about seven times. they lie about everything and the equipment is very cheap and won't keep working. The people on the phone are very rude and take it personally when you expect it to work right. When they can't fix it or solve your problem, they simply hang up on you. Don't use this company, it's a scam. BUYER BEWARE!!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!

I’ve had Vivint for about a week now and it’s the absolute worst thing ever. Camera sensors go off for bugs or cats even the slightest movement and the system goes insane. They took my information and took it upon themselves to put a credit card in my name to pay for the equipment and now expect me to pay the monthly bill AND the credit card fee that I didn’t ask for. System constantly goes offline at random moments. Absolutely ridiculous I wouldn’t waste your time with this company at all.

after 4 years of long contract now i decided to cancel the service, called twice only to found out they can't cancel my account till i sent an email telling them the reason why , then wait for another 24 to 48 hours to receive then attach to my account, then i need to call them again to confirmed that my email is received, not ever again to use this company , when i sign up no email nothing just phone call, i can't recommend this company to anyone stay away from vivint.

Terrible alarm system! Peace of mind for your home? it’s a joke!! The system has so many uncountable issue, mal functions, and representatives that will hide fees and sign you up with no ethic. I keep wanting to cancel the contract but I’m stuck with a fake renewal agreement! That, I never agreed to!. Now I’m actually requesting them to listen to the recorded conversation for them to valid my statement and disconnect the system! If your reading this review. Please be careful signing up with this alarm system. Do your research before you agree to sign up with them.

I get 3 emails a day from these ppl from different email addy's no text in emails, all giant pics that look like someone typed it, i wont click a single link in there not even for the unsubscribe as im sure its just going to encourage them. Fine print on the bottom of the email is like $600 to install. I never asked for them to send me stuff, I have gun, dog, my own camera's, my own alarm, snakes, other creepy crawlies most ppl wont go near, my home is fine, these ppl are definitely looking like scammers. BEWARE!

to be honest I have little to no confidence in Vivint Home security - I have had a number of issues with the front doorbell being off line during major incidents - so when you really need it to function it doesn’t work - They are telling me it doesn’t work because of a screw - to me that is faulty design and not something I can not stand behind. After the holidays I will look into the cost of cancelling my Vivint Home security. With the numerous problems in equipment and customer services issues I can't imagine any one buying into Vivint

Don't get Vivint! Besides all the problems with canceling service and poor service, your house will not even be safe. I deleted a person who could use his phone app to disarm the alarm. After he stole from our home, he was asked to leave. We changed the pin and deleted his name from the account. A couple of weeks later, he showed me he could disarm the system by going to his phone and change the armed status to disarm without even putting in a pin number. I explained this to a customer supervisor, but she never e-mail me back.

I am very disappointed in vivint. I recently started a dispute in reference to a false alarm and the rep insisted on sending out a technician. Well he stated that the box was the issue he some work on the box and left. Well they sent me a response stating they are not at fault. I dont think I should be held accountable for something out of my control along with not being informed that I needed a permit.

I've had numerous failures of the equipment and Vivint wants to charge me to come fix anything. I tried to cancel and they were happy to oblige . . . as long as I paid the remaining time on my contract up front. When I told them I would never renew the service, they said I would have to call back when the contract was up in order to cancel. Getting through the phone tree was time-consuming to say the least. Would never get Vivint again ... not even for my green house. and I still have a bit less than a year to go on the contract.

I wouldn't even give them one star. They ripped me off badly and fraudulently signed my name to a 5 year contract. They are me over 1750.00 and they keep saying it was processed. The money still hasn't shown up in my account. At this point, I may have to take legal action and start a claim for signing a contract. I didn't find out until I called to see when my contract was up. They investigated and found out it was signed fraudulent and now have given me alot of issues .

Worst company ever! Don't use. Shady! The cameras went down all the time. Customer service sucks because they don't care. I cancelled the account in less than 1 week. They took forever to come get their equipment out of my house. And they still are taking the monthly fee out of my account even though its a cancelled account! Having to call them everyday to fix this problem.....still not fixed more than a month later!

Do not do it worst company ever. Empty promises - equipment does not work right - customer service nightmare. The worst sales rep I have ever dealt with in my life. Recently had our front door replaced - there was hole for dead bolt yet. Rep came to sell system told us he would look after all this - signed up and never heard from rep again - so security lock is on front desk and no security system. No help from Vivint - currently trying to cancel service as full installation was no done within 30 days - this company is the worst - don't do it

Total waste of money and time! Worst customer service I have ever seen. The salesmen are nothing but flat out liars backed by a company that loves to screw people!!! Junk equipment with no one to back up the supposed warranty. Once you are on the hook with this company it will be the last time you here from them unless of course you quit paying for their joke of a home security service. Your family would be safer being monitored by a litter of new born kittens.

Signed three-year contract at $69.99 a month. After three years my monitoring fee was supposed to drop to $29.99 a month, and that I could cancel at any time. They continued to charge me $69.99 a month for five years.....never dropping the price.! When I contacted customer service (Customer Loyalty) they said that the only way that I could get my bill lowered was to renew a contract with them of at least a year. Then they said I would still be charged $39.99 a month. Very untrustworthy company, and not God based as promoted. If they were God based then they would honor their Word.

I would rather not give them any stars but that’s not an option. Vivint is a complete and total scam. Their salesman will promise you huge discounts longer periods where you can really decide if you like the system etc. You have 10 days to cancel no matter what the salesman says. The. They will make it incredibly difficult to cancel and will charge you even after the system is removed. And attempt to charge you a fine for “buying out your contract”. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone.

Got the system because my truck got broken into, 2 nights after install truck was broken into again with 0 alarms or video of it. I can walk right up to my house with armed system on and it will not see me or record video. Plus they lie when they tell you installation times and do not tell you over the phone that it's a 5 year contract just brutal all around

We spent $1500 to purchase equipment, installation, etc. NEVER had a problem in 15 years with our previous alarm company, but they didn't offer cellular connectivity. After 1 week of giving, we had alarm problems; not connected properly, etc. After 3 years (contract period) our cameras still don't work...95% of the time they are "offline". Sooooo many technical calls and visits. Still the system does not function properly. Seriously...we use guns and dogs over vivint now. Their system is a joke.

This is a TERRIBLE product! We purchased a home that has a Vivint thermostat controller (sellers took the rest of the home security system with them). I called Vivint to find out how to adjust the schedule/programming/temp controls. They told me that unless I purchased a FULL alarm package for the home then they WOULD NOT allow me access to the panel to control the system!!!!! IF they supported their products then I would have considered purchasing more.

If i could give negative stars i would! This company is awful and i would never recommend them. I completed 4years and 8 months of a 5 year contract and am moving somewhere i can’t take my system, even sent them proof of bankruptcy and they still charged me to buy out the contract. They are a sham and a horrible company, they told me a week prior that with proof of the bankruptcy i could cancel without penalty then changed their story when i sent it all in! Read the fine print, don’t use them! Definitely don’t sign a contract with this despicable company!

I wont go too much into detail because I have a similar experience as others. However, dont be fooled! They rush into your home and are nice on the surface. Then they corner you into purchasing a plan that you have 3 days to turn away from. Who knows they want to cancel in 3 days. They dont give you any time to think about it. Their customer service on the technical side was great but on the billing side, the WORST.

I absolutely hate this "company" ...I am constantly having to reboot cameras and doorbell. rear cameras have to constantly refresh so there is no real live feed... Now after getting up at 3:30 am for work, meeting some friends out afterwards...I come home to a faulty panel that has silently set off my alarm...they want me to go over "proceedures" to see what is wrong..starting with me having to unplug system and go from there...what am I paying them $89.00/ month for?? totally disgusted

This company is the thief! I pay $75/mo to protect my home from burglars. Unfortunately Vivint is the one robbing me. I was dumb enough to sign a 5 year contract. (Don't ever sign a 5 year contract with any service company. Lesson learned.) Any time I need new equipment they overcharge my credit card and refuse to refund any of it. I have also NEVER been able to view my online billing on their website. Technical glich on their end. Can't wait for this contract to be over.

I would give a zero if I could. I was transferred to them from AHS, whom I trusted. I spoke with a rep and decided I would try the product, but when I saw the reviews... I cancelled about a hour or two later. That was in May and this is now The end of July. I still have not received my refund of about 80$. Even after numerous communications. Steer clear - it wreaks of scam.

I'll repeat the other reviews in that Vivint is the worse company I've ever dealt with and would give them a zero rating. However, they did damage to my house with amateur installers, ripped wiring out of my house that cost me over $1,000 to get fixed. When I had them remove the system they left a colossal mess. DO NOT deal with this bunch of shysters.

I had Vivint for 4 years. I had to sell my home in order to move closer to my family. When I asked to please cancel my contract I was told I couldnt. I tried to explain to them it was necessary to sell the house and the people who bought it didnt want it. So after talking to several people I was told i had to pay the remaining year of the contract. Im 83 years old and Im stuck with a bill for some thing I dont have. I moved in with my son and family . So I will not recommend this company to any one .

Here is the real issue with this company...they are too big and don't give their front line people the power to do anything! It all has to be transferred to one team or another. Cancellation took forever, five months in fact, payment kept being taken out of my credit card for 5 months, notices of people at my door kept coming for months after I had moved out. Refund took forever...customer service takes a beating every day because the company rips people off! I would rather buy a dog then have this company protect my house again!

Cost over $200 for equipment. Monthly charge over $88. Long term, 5 year contact. Horrible tech support. Basically none. Constant problems with outside security cameras. Customer service reps are just reading from scripts. No knowledge of equipment or any awareness of threats (malware) to system. They mostly try to sell you more equipment. Techs who came to house were horrible. Disrespectful and never performed the work I was told they would do.

I would give a zero. I have had the system for a year and have had nothing but problems. Just this morning Alarm go off for no reason (3rd time since ive had the system. Door bell notification is so slow by the time you can answer the door with your phone app the person has already left. The camera constantly says someone has been noticed when no one is there but doesn't record when someone is there. Im tired of wasting my time trying to get this fixed. a false sense of security is what vivints tag line should be!

Sales rep. said "No Contract", he talked about the low prices of this product that seemed to good to be true. I decided to buy into this service and it was a mistake. The company ended up putting me into a contract, and also charges me some extra fees that were never discussed between me and the sales rep. Cancelling the service is painful as customer service is slow and of poor quality. This company is in fact a Scam and people should stay away from Vivint.

I got the service and every 3 months the system stops working then I have to spend 1 hr with them on the phone as they are trying to charge me for the technician and every sensor that needs to be replaced. Mind you I can’t cancel because I’m under contact and the only way they can fix the issue for a discounted price is if I extend my contract

It is one of the most inept companies ever. There’s no database (it appears) to which employees may refer for information and FACTS on customers’ account, hence erroneous calls about billing, services provided etc., etc

Unethical sales practices!!! The salesperson at the door told me there was no contract but I tried to cancel the service and learned that I am in a 5 YEAR CONTRACT!!! I specifically asked the salesperson if there was a contract because I planned on moving. he told me there was no contract. The will say anything to get you to sign there little tablet and steal your hard-earned money. Don't do business with them!!! You will regret it!!!

A salesman came to my door the year of 2016 selling me the alarm system. I was under the impression of a 12 month contract. I tried to cancel the contract. I was told I signed a 5 year contract with 2 years remaining. I would have never agreed to 5 years. The same thing happened to my aunt. Love to file class action lawsuit. Do not sign contract with Vivent!! All of these bad reviews are true to my experience. I rate Vivint no stars.

The whole process has been a disaster. So many lies it's unreal. Still going through getting out of this mess. They damage stuff and don't repair it, one lie I hear several times before I let them drill into our house. Don't believe them, nothing gets fixed. They lie about the free trial period, had to fight hard for that. Now I am finding out they went ahead and charged my credit card before the trial period was even up. I am so angry over this I could just scream. Customer service is of no use and so rude. Don't anybody sign up for this. Wish I had read reviews before signing.

I had Vivint for 14 days and have had nothing but issues with them. They charged my card for 260 for taxes and fees which was never mentioned. They said they were going to refund me half of my money and credit my account the rest. Never received my refund. A couple days later my credit score drops 60 points. I have called to cancel and the guy said I couldn't cancel unless the sales rep that signed me up extends it. The sales rep told me he couldn't extend it because it's not up to him. Literally going back and forth with them. Vivint is not it. They are a scam.

Sales Rep Brandon along with his manager Aaron were very rude and unprofessional. I would never get this system because of that. Vivint technicians came to my home. When I decided not to get the system, the intentionally destroyed my ADT keypad and mother board. When I called ADT, the technician came out...the charge is 350.00 to replace my system. This is the worst experience that I have had with a salesman. ADT for life.

I was a big Vivint fan till about 3 weeks ago. They now want to add a charge for the app that I was told I would never have to pay for. This time it's $20 more a month if I want to continue to use an app for the system. next what.... too many cheaper options. Hue doesn't​ charge me to use the app for the lights. Google doesn't charge for its app, nor does Amazon or apple. I can go on and on.

We have had nothing but issues with Vivint. Non-existent customer service, service does not work (doorbell camera is blurry and doesn't record all the time, system disconnects all the time, false alarms ect), they will charge you to send out a tech to fix their broken and non working equipment, will tag on small charges to increase your bill randomly if you don't pay attention. AVOID VIVINT

PLEASE DO NOT USE VIVINT! I purchased Vivint Smart Home system. over a year ago and have nothing but problems with is since day one. I have had 2 touch panels and 2 doorbell cameras replaced. It takes up to 5 min. for an image to appear making it impossible to view or talk to whoever is at my door. Every time I call customer service they tell my they are downloading my system with an update. The problem is never fixed, and new ones crop up. Do yourself a favor go to CPI or ADT.

Vivint is terrible! I will be going with someone else soon. The guy who installed it destroyed my walls, didn't patch correctly, and the smart lock is loose and falls over to the sides. Since then, the system malfunctions, won't record properly or doesn't record at all. Days will go by without a recording when there has been plenty of activity. Or it has stopped recording during activity. The few times we've called with problems the customer service reps are beyond rude. They want to charge for everything. I should have done more research. I'm going to look into Protect America instead.

Buyer beware. After installation of the overpriced equipment in both mine and my mother's home, the systems worked for about a month. After having techs 'fix' the problem(s) multiple times we simply gave up using the system. The fact that both systems had issues repeatedly tells me it wasn't an isolated incident, more like the norm. We honored our contract and promptly cancelled service ... in March. It is now May and they are STILL charging us for service. Horrible customer service and not deserving of one star, IMO.

Dear everyone. DONT USE THIS SYSTEM. Long story short it’s truly the WORRRRST system I’ve ever used. These overpriced cameras don’t work. Sensors fell off the door setting my alarm off in the middle of the night. Tech took my old security equipment with him without my permission and vivint is not taking responsibility for that. I’ve had alarms on my homes for a decade and I’ve never experienced something so bad. DON’T BUY INTO THIS.

They talked us into getting the wireless thermostat. Once our contract was up we cancelled their service. After paying on a thermostat for 4 years we have a worthless piece of equipment because our wireless thermostat no longer works. They locked us out of our app!! With what I paid over 4 years for this thermostat I could have purchased two thermostats and still have access to them. Such a ripoff that they lock you out of the thermostat

Horrible scam. Monitoring service fee very expensive. Have to pay off equipment before you can cancel which I did after 18 months. Can not possibly rate them any lower. After cancelling two months ago they have continued to charge me and I have to call to get it credited back. Stay away, stay away. Horrible company. My opinion and its justified. Did I say stay away? They are terrible.

I have had Vivint for over 3 and a half years. I have had problems with the camera, sensors, auto front door lock, router, and main control panel during that time. During phone calls I have been directed to online troubleshooting and told to have a nice day. Only after complaining online was I offered a tech. All of this for over $700 a year, 5 year minimum.

Listen to these negative reviews. This company is terrible. I can't see how they have ANY 3 star reviews let alone a 4 or 5. And my mind, they are all computer robts. Fake profiles. Terrible service. My equipment failed 4 months into service and it will cost me to have them send someone to fix it. Just so it can break 4 months later. I take 60 dollars of hard earned money a year, and throw it in the trash. No monthly service from them I just pay to have broken equipment in my house.

They’re a terrible company to deal with. The cameras haven’t worked in over a month and I have 13 months left on the contract yet they refuse to fix it unless I extend the contract 48 months. Now I have to pay for an entire year of non-working service or they’ll turn me in to collections or whatever. I’m basically paying for a product I can’t use and they’re trying to extort another 48 months out of me.

The installation process is riddled with smoke and mirrors. 3 cameras, 2 sensors, and 3 door sensors for $1,500. On top of that its $50/month to monitor, which has to be an industry high. Our first technician broke stuff in my home and did not tell us. Wiring is a mess and holes in the wall. Now I cannot get out of the contract. Go with someone else.
