The good: We love the mobile app and the home integration Very good equipment - we love the control panel The bad: Poor customer service. Difficult to get ahold of a real person when calling into the customer service phone number. Equipment is overpriced Lack of transparency when purchasing a new system. Similar as when buying a car, it is difficult to tell how much everything is. Nothing was itemized. The price of individual equipment is different if paying for everything up front, instead of financing In my next home I will be using a DIY security system.

Every company is good when things are going well. When I moved and tried to move the security system there was only slow internet service. Vivant sent a technician that said I would be allowed to cancel contract without paying for anything other than the parts(camera, NEST, doorbell). We agreed to make payments and all was good. Until they charged $1300 to my debt card all at once - without approval. I tried several times to make this right, now they sent me to collections when they were stealing from me. Do not use them. Plenty of others.

Vivint has changed their control centre on their website and moved it to the App without informing their clients. They also have a new link to the App / Home Alarm Control Centre but no one has told us about it until we contacted their support. Controlling the thermostats schedule is inaccurate. It is a terrible company. They charge a lot for nothing and their cancellation policy is very bad. I would not renew or recommend anyone to use them.

This is the absolute worst company I have ever done business with. First of all their installers were not very professional and had very little knowledge of the product. They had to come back the same week to fix the install and a third time to get it right. The product didn't work very well so and resulted in multiple repair calls. They refused to cancel my contract even after they had to send multiple technicians to fix it.

This has to be the worst ever. Not only do they not care once you get the system put in but they make it so you can’t understand what you are getting into. We have not had our system work properly for 9 months now yet they still have no issues pulling $90+ every month. Try and talk to someone and nothing yet I asked to purchase one and they called me within 5 mins. Read the fine print and do t believe what the salesman is telling you because they are not telling you everything. TERRIBLE.

If i can give a zeroo. Service is really bad. It is so frustrating to have this kind of security service. They overcharge us when we have a contract to pay only whats in it and they never solve i keep calling what a waste of time! They said to return the charge but never did. Somethinng happened on the camera, it wasnt recording so i called coz whats the use if it doesnt work then thats the time they overcharge for it when it is their company’s fault. Now have to wait for 4 long years to get out of this hell! We dont feel safe at all!

We have been unhappy since the install where they charged us for a camera we never bought. After that it has been lies, deception and poor quality help. Once they lock you into a contract, which is usually 4 - 5 years, they are not willing to do anything for you even when you are unhappy with their service. Stay away from this company! Overpriced equipment or overpriced monitoring..one way or another they get you! Stay away! You will thank me later

Tech never showed up to install system. Then it took me over two hours to get ahold of someone to find out why. No straight answer from them. Then it took almost another two hour to try to get my money back. Then it’s going to take over 2 weeks to get my money back. The company doesn’t know what there doing. They gave me all kinds of numbers to call and still didn’t answer the phone. Not a very good service.

Amazing how my review disappeared from a couple of weeks ago. I have been very dissatisfied and I wrote that they could not come fix my thermostat for a week when we were having 112 degrees weather and I ended up called somebody and for $250 he was able to give me a new thermostat. All they say is I have a contract with them even though they have not kept up with their contract

Customer service agents not empowered to help - constant "I'm sorry" and no solution. Nothing in place to help those dealing with Covid-19 issues. Contract is horrible and does not allow for "special circumstance" as they proclaim. I recommend to not sign any agreement with this company unless you are sure that your future is in place and nothing will arise for you to ever have to leave your home lose your home don't do it.

Clif Dennis I like the Vivint system. But when we hit the wrong thing on the phone, it completely messed up everything. Customer Service is almost non existent. If you call, there is at least a thirty minute hold. I've tried nine ways from Sunday to change my password with no success. It says the PW is changed, but it still doesn't work. Thus, the system is of no value to me. Vivint needs local customer service. I won't recommend until local service is available.

Sales Rep is misleading and you lock in for 6 years and Fortiva is one of their financing Company. I was approved for $2000 for the security system and it was installed the same day, but after further review of the contract I sent a message to Rep. to let him know he wasn't honest with us and to cancel my contract. Did every step within 48 hours. Went back to my Company ADT. I got a letter on 6-16-20 stating my credit was to low... WHAT A LAUGH. Be careful if you do business with them.

If i could give it zero stars I would, terrible customer service! don't take care of issues I'm in the 3rd year of a five year contract with parts that don't work and they want 950.00 to cancel a contract STAY AWAY! due your due diligence I'm not the only one with these problems and their re-upping of contracts without a written consent is terrible. Vivint is the Hotel California of security systems, you can check out anytime but you can never leave

I did not know that I signed up for the Smart Home Video System. When I signed up two years ago, they told me that was the only service available, however, when I transferred my service I discovered that I have been overpaying for basic services. I don't have video - all I have are basic door and window sensors, one motion sensor, a glass break sensor and firefighter sensor. Monthly statements are not available to view.

I canceled a subscription for the car Guard because they didn’t were able to get the device to work at all. I spent hours in the phone with their “technical support “ with no results. I canceled back in January , two months later they still charging me the monthly fee. I called to cancel and I was told that I have to do it in writing or email which I did in a email

Vivint is a terrible company and does not honor what it says it will do. They say they monitor your home but only if you ask them to. It is not active but passive. There is considerable delay when the contacts are activated. Almost ten minutes go by before I am alerted to a breach. By that time my whole family could be murdered and everything stolen from my home. I was told I would receive a hardware upgrade free of charge within six months and I have been waiting over two years and when I contacted them, they had no clue. Can't wait to get out of this contract!

Had an alarm and when they called me told me a motion sensor did not go off when it actually had allowing someone to break in to my business and get away with no police response. Had a second alarm activation on another occasion so told them to call police since I did not trust them anymore. No police were called. Security company showed up to my neighbours two hours later asking if they knew where an alarm had come from. Cannot be trusted with your safety.

Wasn’t bad just don’t try to cancel, even with out contract. Okay with 30 day notice but after that still tried to get you sign for more services, when I have no need for them. Sent cancellation email of course they have no records & they want them sent again. Have not used there services for over two months & they keep charging. This is there customer service been on the phone now for 37 minutes & still waiting. Was advised could be 30 minutes to talk to a supervisor.

Stay away from VIVINT! As a customer you sign up with them for protection from theft. They are the thief. I cancelled services, however they continued to electronically draft my bank account. They claim that when you cancel services, even if your month to month (AS I AM) they can (PENALIZE) charge you for another 30 days of service. When you cancel your services, if you are month to month, notify your bank to stop payments to VIVINT. I was with them for 7 years! Poor customer service when you cancel services.

Vivint is awful. We had a false alarm a few months ago. I talked to someone over the phone and told them everything was fine. They sent someone out like 2 days later from their company to check the property. I told them everything was fine. They then charged us $70 because they said the police were dispatched which they were not. I emailed them to let them know they made a mistake and shouldn't of charged us but they completely dismissed it. Vivint is an awful company. All they care about is getting your money.

I hate Vivint with a passion. They told me my contract would be 30$ and since the previous home owners already had them installed they said I could cancel anytime without a contract. My first bill was 55$ and they refused to change it and so I cancelled it. The next month I get another bill and had to talk to like 5 different reps and then they cancelled it, but I still had to pay 55$ For the second month that was suppose to be cancelled. Also, when I was talking to the final rep he had the audacity to offer me a 25$ contract to stay with them. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Vivint.

My experience with your company is the worst I have ever had in my life. Tried to cancel the service and they told me that rep didn't remember giving me 2 moths trial before I cancel without a penality. we would never signed up without the two months warranty to try it out because their product and customer service sucks!!! rude!! . After going to tens of phone calls and threating to sue them they decided to cancel for me but its been over 6 months and they still haven't refunded us the fees they have charged. We keep calling and they say the check in on the way and we never received it.

Have had vivant for a year now, system still doesn't work. We have had problems from day 1. We were lied to about price, it cost double what we were told. Have had technicians come out 3 different times and still can't get the system to work, The thermostat randomly change to 40 degrees or 99 degrees. No one can figure out why. The smoke alarms and window alarms go offline randomly. buyers please beware. Vivint is horrible .

Just tried to cancel our service and was told that the rep "didn't remember" what he had said to us about having 1 year to cancel without penalty. We never would have signed without that guarantee. Now we learn that without that in writing (everything was done on the rep's tablet and we didn't even get a copy) that we are locked in for 5 years or payout of almost $4000. We want to cancel because the equipment doesn't work (cameras don't record, app doesn't work, garage door opener doesn't work, etc). Totally effed over by Vivint.

Service stops working once a week and is only fixed after we house them. Completely useless on the phone, but respond well online. We've had all kinds of issues and have only had the system for 4 months. Equipment falling off the wall, buggy app, wall display freezes, modem won't reboot, shutdown, or arm. A whole range of things! We are stuck with this awful system and the second we're free, I'm junking every bit of it. Wish I had gone with ANYONE else. Save yourself the time, stress, and money.

I got talked into switching to Vivint from adt by Nathan L. He told me Vivint will completely buyout my contract. Come to find out they only offer up to $500 and must be completed within 60 days. I have similar problems with the Vivint panel loosing connection.

The absolute worst customer service imaginable! Multiple issues with equipment had to be resolved. Multiple "outages" had to be resolved. Prices were changed without authorization. Customer service only responded when I got the attorney general office involved...twice! And customer service will argue with you as if you are at fault when their equipment fails. I wouldnt wish this company on anyone.

I have the door bell camera it stops recording a few days a week it’s useless! I have packages stolen & camera is not recording! Don’t waste your time or $$$ its horrible! I call customer service at least once a week ! They should reimburse me for these months ! I get the BS that I have a 5 year contract! I heard RING IS THE BEST! I have to have an agent walk Me thru rebooting the camera & it works only for a few days!

Worst experience ever!!! We started early am with one installer who was very nice but very inexperienced. A second installer arrived to assist who was also inexperienced followed by a third and left the job unfinished and poorly installed. After spending 12hours at our home. We were told that the next available appointment would be the following week to complete the job. We are very unhappy and problems unresolved.

Some people are polite and some not but they no showed at my appt. and when they showed up they wired the thermostats wrong. No ac for 2 nights in hot desert. Even the owner Todd that I talked to briefly said he would call me back in an hour and didn’t.

Do not get this service! Vivint does not take accountability for the failure of their product. I have spent a lot of hours these past 4 years either with no service or on a never- ending phone troubleshooting call with a tech. The system seemed to work perfectly for the first 6 months. After that I was doing fantastic if the system would even function at a low level for 2 weeks. I am not exaggerating with the numbers. Other people in various locations have told me of similar experiences. DO NOT ENTER A CONTRACT WITH VIVINT!!! (Unless you enjoy taking a loss.)

Vivint is a complete scam. Do not fall for their cheap alarm system and empty promises. Their Customer Care is less than desirable. If I could give less than a 1 star I would. They originally were suppose to install my system and never showed. Then when they sent someone it took them 8 hours to install a security system. The system is inferior and overpriced. And they are constantly asking you to refer to friends and family which is never going to happen.

Not impressed. We built our home and had it hard wired and sensors put in for a system and Vivint came out and said they needed to replace all of the equipment with theirs to work with them. To much of an expense and a hassle!!

This is the worst company on the planet. I was rushed into taking their service on the heels the passing of my mom and me in the hospital. MY MISTAKE I have not been covered for at least 6 mos all systems are offline/low battery, I have replaced batteries weekly. I have already paid $2500 and to get out of the contract I have to pay $1400. Can anyone say over priced. I sure hope nothing happens to my home or Vivint will here from my attorney

This service suck! The cameras go offline often, the sky control panel locks up as well. Whenever I see suspicious activities guess what...the camera goes offline! Complete shame...at least I bought the equipment so it’s time to cancel. My neighbors have cameras that are trained on part of my property so I’ll trust theirs. I’ve been had...oh well! Best believe I will warn people’s about this garbage!

Sales rep was incredibly confrontational, i told him we were not interested, he then wanted to speak to someone else in the home and wanted our names. Imagine that, he knocks on OUR homes door, and like a manchild flips out that he’s not getting his way. Told him to leave flatly, and eventually he did after a few times. You know a company is bad when nearly all the 5 star reviews call out the 1 star ones. Talk about being a shill.
