Within three months with guardian, I started receiving calls that they’re unable to read the panel. That kept on increasing to daily. In the the last three months, I received over forty calls. I requested a technician from them and was told that it would cost seventy five dollars plus the cost to fix the problem. I called and requested a cancellation then I was made aware that the contract was for five year . When i hired them, the duration of the contract was never mentioned. I was lead to believe that it was month to month. It only came up after I wanted out because they were not able to read my system for at least for six months. I was told by a representative that even though they couldn’t read the system, I should of accepted their daily calls to manually fixed the problem for magically years.

I have been a member of Guardian Protection since 2022. I have never had any problems with them until I decided to get more equipment. I asked how much it would cost to purchase a doorknob and garage door opener, and I was told that it would only be $1.00 more on my bill. Everything was installed and worked fine, then all of a sudden I get a 600.00 bill. I call them to figure out what is going on, and they tell me that I owe this from the products that I just ordered. You can understand why I was confused since my understanding was that I owed 1.00 more. I was told they would review the transcript of the call and give me a call back. I never received a call back, and that was months ago so I assumed they resolved the issue. Just recently they have shut down access to my app. So now I am not able to view any doorbell camera footage or have access to my garage. I called them just a couple of days ago about what was going on; and they told me it was because of the balance on my account. You can imagine my surprise, as I did not receive a call in months to try to resolve the issue. Obviously I am not valued as a customer, and they just want money out of me. I feel like any other business would have tried to problem solve with me especially because from my perspective, I don’t owe them anything. Also, if I knew how much it was at the time that I ordered it, I would have simply paid. However, I was either unintentionally or intentionally told something different. I am extremely disappointed with this company, and currently waiting for a call back on cancelling. Since they didn’t call me months ago at the time of the issue, I doubt I will receive a call to discuss. Also, they have reviewed the transcript of the phone call, but I did not receive a copy. This just all seems very shady.

I have been a long time Guardian Protection customer. I have the service at my home (replaced ADT) and had it at a beach house. I went to get it for my business. What a mess. The person we dealt with said we had no credit even though we have approved credit with all of our vendors (including other utility services). Each time they said they checked, the rep sent back the wrong company name and addresses. We resent the correct information they repeatedly sent back the wrong info and said we had no credit. I have a credit service for my businesses that tells me when our credit is checked or when there is an event impacting our credit score. Not once were we notified via the service that Guardian ran our credit. We were told by Guardian we would have "to pay the entire installation cost up front and the first year of monitoring." Unreal. Or I could add it to my personal account and credit. Not only am I going elsewhere for my business security but I am now considering changing my home security as well.

We purchased a home from DR Horton in 2019 and at that time, they were partnered with Guardian Protection for their Smart Home Features. After we moved into our home, a Guardian Tech came to our house to set up the "Smart Hub" and use of the Alarm.com app to control all our our Smart Devices. Of course they gave us their sales pitch for additional security/monitoring services they offer which we declined. We didn't sign anything with Guardian and at that time, there was no mention that we would be in a 3 year trial period for use of the Alarm.com app to control the Smart ZWave devices that we now OWNED. They did not mention anything in regards to the end of that 3 year trial, we would no longer have access to these ZWAVE devices to function as they are designed because they would be locked by the Guardian HUB. Additionally, we weren't given any sort of notice that our "courtesy trial period" for the Alarm.com APP was due to expire to go over options etc. We only figured out that we were no longer in our trial when we couldn't access the alarm.com app to control our ZWAVE smart devices any more. At that point, I called Guardian to find out what was going on and after spending over 2.5 hours on different occasions, they refuse to send a technician out at no charge to disconnect our zwave devices that are our personal property. The only way that they will help is to charge me 120.00 for the 1st half hour and an additional charge for every 15 minutes thereafter. Had we known that we would not be able to gain access to the devices we own after this "courtesy trial period" we would have never agreed to allow them to connect them to their useless hub. DR Horton is no longer partnered with Guardian and now uses SafeHaven and ADT who was far more helpful than Guardian at trying to help me resolve this and would not have charged a single dime to disconnect our personal devices from their hub if our hub was theirs. Wouldn't ever recommend Guardian or any of the services to anyone. Terrible customer service.

Wish I could give them negative stars. I’m warning you now. This is the worst alarm service I’ve ever delt with. Extremely cheap equipment. Have spent 1,000s of dollars on equipment that doesn’t even work. I hate this company they rip you off - If you want a alarm company there ok , but for security cams you mine as well just pay someone to install cameras - cause they will cost you 1/8 th of the price and actually work. - you won’t need to spend over 20 hours Talking with Costume Service then have to pay 800 dollars for them and to fix one camera To a few weeks later have anoter issue where they need to come back. This company is sorta help against robbers not rob you in the process. - run I beg you run while you still can.

BEWARE!! Theieves and scam artists!!! They make you sign a 5 year contract and its 750 if you want to cancel. They don't care if youre no longer in the house, if you got incarcerated, if covid made you homeless, if you got a terminal illness and have to live out of a hospital, etc. You could get this security system for your sweet grandmother and they wouldn't give 2 sh*ts if she passed away, they'd still make you pay them!! These people need to just tell it like it is and admit that they DO NOT care about their customers. They care ONLY about their money. Doesn't matter who you talk to they all have the same bs responses. The service is absolutely terrible on top of everything. Cameras consistently stop working or get disconnected from internet. I haven't even had my cameras working for 2 years now. I've just been paying them every month. For nothing. No service at my home, I'm just paying them month after month. They told me I have 2 more years of paying them month after month. I dont have 750 that I can give them so canceling is not an option for me. I spoke with a few people today to try to get advice and I couldn't believe that someone I know is paying half the amount I am per month and they only had to sign a 1 year contract with Brinks Security. Now I feel extra stupid that I let these people trick me into signing up for their service. Just awful!!!!!

The app is worse than Ring, the cameras are worse than Ring, they limit video uploads, the cameras keep disconnecting, I had to hire an electrician to upgrade the electric for the door bell to work (I understand existing infrastructure isn’t their problem but they never mentioned any requirements), the hardware was way more expensive than Ring and the monthly bill is way more than Ring. Why did I move from Ring you ask? Because of all these positive reviews on here! I’m guessing they’re not from former Ring users. I’ve contacted them about my dissatisfaction and they said the most they could do is give me one free month ($60, after the install was close to $2k). Honestly can’t say enough how dissatisfied I am.

I have been a customer for 17 years. And I can’t say that i have been a happy customer. They charge a premium price for less than stellar service. I’ve stayed because I don’t want to go through the hassle of getting a new company. But, this may change. Due to the fact alarm going off randomly for no reason. 2:00 am, 10:00 am 5:00am 1:00pm. It’s ridiculous. 4 people have been to my home. And nothing is fixed. I paid for service fees. I am fed up. This is just stupid.

This company is such a rip off. I got this service transferred to my name in November 2020 when I bought my home. Apparently that transfer was a 36-month commitment. I never use this service. I tried to cancel it in about April 2021 but was told I couldn't unless I paid a $750 fee. At that time, I was told that I had to pay that or just wait until the ONE YEAR contact was up. So I called today to make sure it wouldn't auto-renew. I then get told I have a 36-month commitment so I still have 25 months left. The rep again said I could pay a $750 cancellation fee. I then began asking what to do when I sell my home/PCS for the military. He said it would be installed in my next place or if I were going overseas, they would look at my orders to "possibly waive the termination fee." Possibly?!? I've been in the military for 13 years and I've never had issues terminating service with any company when I had to PCS. I'm actually pretty sure this goes against the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act. Never, ever do business with this company. They only want your money. Absolutely garbage. I will be posting about them on every military website, blog, and social media I can so another person doesn't get ripped off.

Over two years ago I contacted Guardian Protection and asked them to activate my security system. I also asked that two cameras be place d on the front of my home and one at the rear. A service person came to the home and activated the system and placed a doorbell camera. I was not provided with a manual on how to operate the system. The requested cameras were never installed. The doorbell camera stopped working after a few months. If I have a prolonged power outage then the alarm goes off and I can't turn it off. It goes off for hours. I have to get a sleeping bag and sleep in a lounge chair in the backyard in an effort to try and get some sleep. When I have called the company to complain they are very focused on, "Who was was the salesperson that you spoke with on the phone when you placed your order?" How am I supposed to know that? My response is, "What was the name of the checker who sold you your groceries last Wednesday?" This company is VERY focused on getting paid but their alarm system is a total failure, they do not provide the agreed upon services, they do not fulfill their contract, Despite all of this, they want to be paid.

Our supervisor attempted to reach you by phone twice in January and once in February wanting to work with you on your issues. Each time, no one answered and the message received was that the voice mailbox was full. In a continued effort to make contact, our supervisor also emailed. The first email was sent January 21, 2021 at 8:40 a.m. We received notification that the email had been delivered but we did not receive a response from you. On January 29, 2021 we emailed again at 12:44 p.m. Again we received no reply. Given that we received no response to our efforts to connect and resolve the issues and given that no payment had been made since June 2020, the account was referred to a third party. TERRIBLE start with this company! This is first 2 months: 1_ Camera installed without protection cover for wires. The wires got wet and burned camera. They had to order more parts. Camera been out for almost a month. 2_They did not install everything in the contract. 3_Did not leave or ask if we would like any logos 4_They sent out a technician with little to no experience to cover for another. Zero accomplished waste of everybody’s time. 5_The LeGrande Digital Audio does not work properly…had to order another part. 6_The motion detector does not work and didn’t learn that until after a week’s vacation. Glad the thieves were not lurking around. 7_Orders not communicated from tech to customer support. 8_To top it off spoke to a manager and she wrote down all of these issues and promised she or another manager would get back before close of business…but to be consistent with her subordinates, never heard back so another angry customer has to call back tomorrow. Please DO NOT use this company if you want protection. I would never recommend. Way too expensive…low quality and service.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!! We built a house in 2017 and signed a 60 month contract with guardian. Fast forward to 2020 when COVID hits and my husband loses his job, FORCING us to move out of state. The new owners don’t want to have an alarm system, fine...... however Guardian is making us pay $50 a month for 2 years to complete the contract or $700 for early termination even though we had to move for unforeseen circumstances to a state that Guardian does not service. They claim to be “ethical” and say they “care about their customers” however, their actions are far from it. They are capitalizing on their customers hardships and misfortunes. SHAME ON YOU, GUARDIAN. Nothing but a greedy company. Find a different security system company!! At least make sure you can carry the service with you anywhere you move.

Because Guardian makes a significant upfront investment when new electronic security hardware is installed and activated in your property, the costs of such hardware are recouped by the provider over the initial contract period. This is the reason an early termination fee may apply if you wish to cancel prior to the end of the initial contract period. The contract also serves to protect both the consumer and the provider, by defining services to be provided, rates, terms and obligations of each party.
