It was a good experience. FDR were very attentive when we had questions. Our only concern was that we were never late to make payments to the creditors. However, when we did the consolidation we had to stop making payments so they could negotiate better. One of my creditors ended up sueing us in court and it made it drawn out longer.

mostly positive, only complant I have is trying to take care of a collection company trying to collect on an account that has been setteled. nlg must have a signature from some one at Clearfield bank signing off on the setelment, and I don't understand what is taking so long to resolve this.

Freedom Debt does what it says it will do. I am about 6 months into my program and 3 of my accounts have a settlement in place. Paying off debt takes time and it does ruin your credit score but not paying the debt does that as well. Looking forward to settling the others on my list.

I am glad this debt is lower but I am not happy with the fact that negotiation are so slow & fees are very high. By the time one account was negotiated the balance I submitted at $4,000 was negotiated at $7,000. I am upset but what can I do? They make you believe if you don’t accept the negotiated amount it will be worse for you. The card company gets more & so does FDR.

We're sorry for the confusion, Judith. We advise our clients that they should have around 25% of the current balance of an account in order for us to be able to begin a settlement on that account. I'm a current member as of 2016. Now yes they are extremely nice when you are paying them the money and not asking questions. When I got down to my last creditor which was Chase, and before I started Chase was willing to work with me but I wasn't sure I could because as you see the company says $10,000 or more in credit. If I took Chase off it would be way under. Now they just got back to me saying Chase would settle (it was for the same amount that Chase told me 3 years ago) and my fee's where $1,340 now I've been paying fees on others, as well. If they say 20% it's actually more like 30-35% which is more than lawyers make. They have not been as nice or willing to really listen to me when I call and ask simple questions they just read from a script. I have enough money in my account that I could have this paid off by July August at the very latest . Now they say I have to pay until March of next year, and all I was asking is if I get enough money in my account can I stop paying you and you just keep paying Chase ? I just kept getting the run around. I'm not happy I believe in their notes on their computer they are told how to handle me or there are notes about my complaints and told to just give me the run around. So thank you I'm glad at some point this will be over, but I will never recommend Freedom Debt relief to anyone.

I'm aware the company goes to great length to explain their program. However it is a lot of information to digest at one time. I felt that hearing what they will do for you and seeing it in action is quite different. My understanding was that once a settlement was made it would be paid off-all at once. Not a settlement made and then make payments to the creditor over several months., That was something that was troublesome to me and apparently didn't understand completely. In my communications with this company they were always very kind and respectful.

Was not happy when l received a form 1099-C in April when all forms are to be mailed out by Jan. 30, especially when our taxes were done in March. Plus when selecting your program your rep. Mr. Ricky S never mentioned that when negotiations were met and the balance became less you would have to claim the remainder as income ! How could you claim as income as you are trying to pay off all thru your program, reason as we do not have the funds to pay all. You are not at all very reliable in information when speaking with one of your reps.

I've been with FCR almost a year. In that time they have accumulated around $6000 of my money to pay debts, settled 0 accounts & allowed one of my smallest accounts to go into collection even though they had $ & ignored a settlement offer warning that I'd go into collection if I didn't respond! They didn't respond, my credit has been hammered! " Wish I would have been better informed about how bad my credit would get during the process" - a comment with sentiments I share. Not happy & not sure where to go? This is the best nationally recognized debt relief company on the web. Can't recommend this company.

i am about a year with freedom debt relief and some of my bills are paid of. the only thing i don't like is that my credit score dropped about 200 points. because of that i can't refinance my home which was the original plan i had, otherwise i am ok

It was either pay my high interest credit card minimums for the next 35 years or learn to live cash only while FDR works to settle my accounts. Some times I feel like it is taking longer than I would expect but then I remember what the alternative would be. I have been happy with the services thus far.
