I had reached an agreement for payment of back taxes with the IRS, although the IRS could not be specific about what I owed for so the agreement was never implimented. I asked for and received an extension to hire an outside agency that would audit my account and amend my filed tax returns if needed. In October2019, I hired Optima with a specific set of instructions. I was assured by David C, Sylvia R, Catalina H that these issues would be addressed. By January I was receiving letters from the IRS that stated that I had defaulted on an agreement and was fined an even greater amount. I called Optioma and was assured by Catallina H that they had not entered me into an agreement without my consent and never would. I began receiving more mail from IRS stating that I would be sued over delinquent account, I again called Optima and spoke with Joanna R who told me three times that I was not entered into an agreement without my consent. On the 28th of January I was sent an Email from her stating they had entered into an agreement without my consent. I was lied to several times by two different representatives and told I didn't know what I was talking about, very rudely I might add. I kept trying to contact Optima, many emails sent no answer. Many calls no call backs.So not only did the Optima representatives lie to me, which is recorded. But they entered into an agreement without my consent and with holding that information from me ( I had to call the IRS and find out myself). But instead of getting me out of debt with the IRS they got me into MORE trouble and debt with the IRS. I have attempted many times via voice and E-mail to resolve this situation. No results. I tried to explain to them my daughter had just passed on Feb. 9,2020 and I had to borrow money for her funeral expenses, but they didn't care they still took payment out of my account for a job they knew they already screwed up and set me up for failure. This company cheats and lies. This company should do the right thing, and give me back the money they took over and above the initial investigative fee. The appropriate thing to do would for this company to take responsibility and also compensate me for the increased debt incurred to me by the IRS, due to Optima representative getting me into an agreement without my knowledge or consent, and the fines for not meeting the obligations of an agreement I didn't know I was in due to optima representatives lying and hiding the fact.

I started working with Optima tax relief on May 2nd 2019. I sent them every levy and seize letter that i received from the IRS. I asked them 3 times if i need to be worried about the letters or being garnished. And they told me not to worry about it the IRS knows I'm represented. 4 moths later on September 6th my check was garnished. So I contacted Optima confused on why neither them or the IRS told me that i was going to be garnished. So on September 12th they put in the power of attorney form and put me on a installment plan. 4 months after i started paying them, So i told them i no longer wanted anything to do with them they're service is horrible. And they did nothing but waste my time and charged $3,795 and did nothing for me. And you are not protected from day one. I called the IRS while i was in the middle of trying to get a full refund from Optima. The IRS told me they had no contact with Optima or with me so it seemed like i was ignoring the IRS. Optima never contacted the IRS until after i was garnished. So that led to more back and forth conversations on the phone and through the better business bureau. All the while they insist they full filled their service. Look up the complaint on the BBB site and see how they throw out BS statements and not address the facts. I talked to a rep on October 30th and she still says they did nothing wrong. On November 1st the IRS sent me the rejected power of attorney form Optima tax relief put in on my behalf. These tax professionals can't do anything right. They had me sign a abatement form to try and get the fees and penalties dropped. And they never put it in, when i called the IRS to verify any contact they had with Optima. I told the IRS rep they had me sign a abatement form and did nothing with it. The IRS rep put in 2 forms for me and told me how to put in the rest in. For free i didn't had to pay her $3,795, and on 11/13/2019 the penalties and fees have already came off reducing what i owe the IRS. Optima tax relief is a horrible service and there is no money back guarantee. They gave me no service at all just more problems and refuse to give me a full refund.

well i was searching for a great company like OPTIMA TAX .
i get in contact and i have them to fix my taxes , bud never nobody explain me that my case will be take for so many hands , Mr. R do my first review after according a monthly, payment he talk me some one will take my case , well the first mistake was he lost all of my file and documents what i mail and fax him , so the next person he ask me again to send all of it one more time so i call and complaint to a management, so Mr.V help me and transfer my case to a MR. N . i HAVE TO SAY HE DO AN EXCELLENT JOB , THANKS ,
But the next person was doing the same mistake, and so , and so and, so .
well i complain for 3th time , and a Executive of Review Board, MR. R he supost to be was designated , to help me he was so rude unprofessional and incompetent, he call by phone and leave 10 messages that i cant hear or understand what he say he talk so fast no clear , and finally, i found who was calling me but this gentleman never answer my Email's he was so busy wen i call back him no answer and after a month today i talk with him and, I have to explain Him whats apprehend whit my case in the middle of my talk he stop me and say:
Well i was listening you for more then 20 minutes and your case is in hold, ........
so i get to frustrated and i answer hi IF YOU CAN HAVE THE TIME TO LISTEN MY CASE I DONT NEED YOU .
After this rudeness he send me Email saying he is closing my case with no reason and now i pay more them half of the cost of the job to this company and no one can answered me what will happen so now , i'm getting letters from the IRS with treads and i have Problems in my case .
i dont recommend no one to get this bad service ONLY CREATE MORE PROBLEMS WITH THE IRS .

I’m glad I only gave them the $500 startup fee. The company was asking me for $5,700.00 to do my case. I explained to them it would take me some time to get the money together but they were trying to pressure me for a date I would have the money. I told them I would try to have it in 45 days or so because I can’t promise I will get the overtime at work, and they wanted me to sign and give them my credit card so basically they can sweep my account on that date. Nope no thanks!!!! They give you 2 weeks to get your money back but good luck I gave they the $500 and it was almost a month before I heard from them. Check some of the reviews. They also brought up stuff From 2006 (It’s 28 days from 2020) that was over 10 years old saying I was responsible for it like some type a scare tactic or to make me think that they really worked hard for me to knock down monies owed to the IRS. They’re a JOKE!!!

In March our case has been with Optima 2years! We’ve had to replace I don’t know how many POA’s. Our Offer in Compromise finally made it to IRS April 2019 but in October they couldn’t get a response from Optima so contacted us directly! I was on a payment plan with IRS but was injured in an accident & had to take an early retirement so couldn’t afford the plan any longer. This has been a giant nightmare, we will never refer anyone to them ever! You can’t get anyone there to hear what you’re saying. G of forbid they put down their “script”! They want your money now because “time is of the essence” $3500 down the freakin drain. Spend your money elsewhere.

Optimal tax has been sued several times for doing bad things to customers. I finally settled with them for 3000 out of 8800 they charged. The one thing that got Optima Tax attention was when the Better Businesses Bureau got the complaint. The first offer was 1700 and I refused.., Finally got 3000 which was hard to except.
Here’s the facts...
First you pay a small deposit to hire Optima. Then they made up the amount I owed. Optimal charges 10% of what your tax debt is. After 2 weeks you can not get a refund.
2016 I hired a bad accountant to do my taxes, and my income was reported on wrong line. I called the IRS and they told me how to fix. I didn’t want to take a chance so I hired Optima Tax to fix it. Optimal claimed I owed 88k, and I owed under 50k. I had no IRS liens at all the day I hired Optima Tax. After Optima Tax doing nothing for 1 hear.... I got tax lien and lost my job. Optimal Tax said it was not their fault. I can’t owe the IRS and work doing what me and my wife did. Now we both have no job and that’s why I’m so upset with Optima.
I called the IRS again and they helped me fix my taxes. The IRS gave me all the forms I needed and told me what to do. This time I took no chances and I hired a real accountant. The accountant fixed my taxes for less then 100 dollars. After the IRS amends my taxes then I hope to get my job back.
My opinion of Optima Tax.... If optima can’t fix a simple mistake in one year, then what good are they. During taking the settlement..... I asked the lady at Optima Tax.... Are you attorney? No. Are you licensed accountant? No. She just said she was their legal team. After refusing several times to take 1700... I finally got 3000 if I would take down the negative review. This is no negative review to me.... This is how Optima Tax treated me. The truth will set you free..
I have learned a lot about dealing with businesses. Never hire anyone without doing research. Google Optima Tax and you will find class action lawsuits. Save yourself time and money.... Hire a tax lawyer. I was told by a lawyer that he would fix my taxes for 1500, but I used a licensed CPA instead. I have used this CPA since 2017, and I should have used her instead of hiring Optima. Not one time did I ever speak to a licensed CPA at Optima. The only time Optima calls is about their payment.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY..I contacted Optima with a past due amt to the IRS of approx $90K. Upon my initial phone interview, I was told that it would cost me $12K for them to take me on as a client. I wired them the 12K that very day and it was down hill from that point on after they received my money. My "case" continued on for over a year and a half. During that time, my "case worker" changed over five times due to employees leaving Optima. They never contacted me about my case, I had to contact them each and every time to find out how my case was proceeding. Approximately 6 months in, and nothing near a resolution, they claimed that they "misplaced" my paperwork and we had to start the whole process over again. The following 12 months were filled with nothing buy lies and blundering mistakes, all of which were blamed on me. At the 18 month point my case was no closer to conclusion than it was from the start. I had had enough of the lies and deception. I told them I wanted my money back. They told me that their policy was money back within the first 15 days. How on earth do you know if you want your money back when they never contact you to let you know how things are going. I had to contact them to inquire after month number three. They took my case to their review board, and in their vast wisdom, told me that they would give me a $1,300 refund. Little short of the $12K that they conned me out of. I met with a local tax attorney after this fiasco and the attorney saw the IRS's mistake within 45 minutes of our sitting down together. I ended up owing nothing to the IRS due to their error. Please do not get caught in the same trap that I got caught in. STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS!!!!!

My name is Donna Aaron and Optima Tax relief didn’t do anything to help me after paying them 8800 dollars .
Optimal will give you refund for the first 14 days.... After 14 days you will find out it’s a marketing scam. Optima has been sued many times.
The first thing optima will do is ask for small amount..... then your on the hook for a lot before they do anything. The rest of the year pay them 1000’s..... They do nothing.
My taxes are a simple mistake that accountant made by reporting income on wrong line. . The IRS told me what the mistake was before I hired optima. Mistake was income reported on wrong line. Sounds like a simple fix for Pro like Optima.
The day I hired optima I paid them down payment to review. They came back and told me I owed 88k, so it cost 10% to fix. I never owed 88K. Optima lies right from the start.
After one year of Optima doing nothing..... I got IRS lien on house for 53k and was fired at work. Can’t owe taxes and work for sensitive job.. Now my life is upside down over trying to do the right thing.
I complained to Optima and told them they did nothing. I wanted a refund and Optima refused. My husband David Aaron wrote a bad review after that. Optimal said if I would write a positive review to their liking then Optima would refund 1700 of my 8800 paid. I never paid Optima last 800 because they waived it. Optimal basically wants me to lie to the public for 1700 dollars. Yes I need the money,,,,,,but I care for others more then I care for Optima.
I never got any money back. Ask yourself this...... If optima can’t amend a simple tax issues.... What good are they?
Now my life is turned around..... I called the IRS myself. I spent 4 hours on hold, and told the nice lady I was desperate. She spends 2 hours on phone with me, then she sends me all the forms I need to fix. She gives me IRS agent name and telephone number, that will fill out forms for free at library. The IRS has agents that help people for free. I know they meet at library weekly. I did a different route though. I sent the papers to my new accountant. My taxes where amended for 40 dollars. Yes that’s right licensed accountant charged 40 dollars. Guess what I owe IRS now. 2800 for Social Security tax. Long way from the claim Optima made of 88k.
After getting my taxes fixed then I can hopefully go back to making real money. . I make 1200 week now. Before optima ruined my like I made over 200k per year.
Before you hire Optima.... look at their class action lawsuits. Their reviews could be fake.... lawsuits are real. I talked to a real tax Attorney, and attorneys charge around 1500..
I hope the BBB will get involved. I’m writing them next. Once I get back on my feet.... I hope to sue Optima for their scam.
Remember licensed CPA fixed my taxes in 1 hour. Optima didn’t do anything after getting 8000 dollars. I had no tax lien til one year after optima. If your job counts on great credit..... Don’t take a chance and lose it over hiring these IDIOTS.....
My grammar may be poor, but I don’t claim to be fixing others taxes. I’m just trying to survive like everyone else. Please investigate for yourself.

Be very aware!!! I would not recommend, not a trust worthy company!!! Do not believe the adds that infer that you can avoid liens and levies. I have both now!! They don’t care nor do they work to avoid them.
I have been working with Optima for 3 years at a cost of over $8,000.00. Things have been fine but nothing really got accomplished. However, I did decide to add 2018 to the resolution which was my hold up. On October 3rd I uploaded documents from a local tax collectors and asked for a response from optima as I have been instructed by Optima that they would take care of all communications. I actually assigned power of attorney for them to do that. Guess what? They didn’t do anything. My wages are now levied and I will lose my house, my car and pretty much everything else. I am the sole provider financially and otherwise for my 3 children. I have called optima 3 times since 10/15, no one will talk to me, not only that, no one will even acknowledge that they ignored my uploads. They have basically shut me out!! I am absolutely disgusted with this company. Particularly Lindsey from the resolutions department. She had me in tears yesterday as she berated and demeaned me on the phone while not allowing me to speak to anyone who could help me.

2016 I worked one half of year as a truck driver leasing a truck. My lease payments where 788 week and fuel for write off. I hired Beeler insurance and tax Cedartown Georgia to do my taxes. My gross wages was 150k- expenses. Beeler insurance reported my income on the wrong line. Beeler would not help me fix my taxes. I tried to fix myself. The IRS told me what was wrong. I thought this was a simple fix. I hired optima tax and they give me excuses for 1 year. Optima claims I owe 88k in taxes so 8800 to fix. That was a lie. The IRS give me a judgment for 47k and I lost my job over it. I do not owe 47k. This year I got extension and made more money and IRS owes me 2k that I will never see. After my last complaint optima responded in days. If I remove complaint then they would fix my taxes and credit me 800 dollars. Optima will not fix and they want return my money. Read reviews yourself... Optima has been sued before over this scam. I called a real lawyer about my tax problem, and the lawyer wants 1500 to fix. If you can’t fix my taxes with a simple error......Then how can you fix a real problem. Optima always knew I drove a truck, and they give me the wrong expense forms over and over. I work hard for my money and now I’m about to loose everything. The only way I will ever get my job back.... Straighten up my taxes, debt, and beg a federal judge to clear my negative history. I worked hard to have a clean record, and all it took was Optima tax to ruin it.. Those in military will understand about bills and IRS. After late bills it’s hard to clear your name. I have been contractor for years and my job requires no bad debt or taxes. Optima has ruined my job and messed up my life. Please always get a licensed CPA and a real tax lawyer or tax problems. Please don’t make my mistake. The job I start this week pays 25% of what I used to make.
Final thought. Real lawyer wants 1500 to fix. Optima wants 8800 to do nothing. I hope I can take legal action and get my money back from optima. I found Optima off satellite radio advertising..

Lots of fake reviews on this company. The Reality is it's a rip-off. I called them for a consultation and got harassed with calls DAILY about coming back. I knew on the initial call with them this was a BS SCAM.
You don't need them. Do your own research, the IRS 95% of the time will NOT offer an offer in compromise. However, you can deal with them directly and they will lower your debt owed or work out a payment plan. You don't need Optima for that. They are a money grab SCAM. I was able to lower my 10,000 Balance with the IRS to $5000 with a simple call to them and payment plan worked out after. They even removed the fee's and interest penalties. I'm not sure how anybody would be crazy enough to pay them thousands to do what you can do on your own. They basically use fear and ignorance to reel in suckers.

If I could go back in time, I would never have used this service or any other. I could have used Turbotax and saved myself the $3400 I gave to Optima. Plus, I would have copies of my actual tax returns filed. I have sent emails on their website with no reply and left voice messages but no calls returned. The miracle hype they espouse on the radio is just that, hype. Don't expect them to work miracles between the IRS and you. I bought it. I paid for it. I have buyers remorse.

Although we paid all necessary fees on time, Optima Tax Rilief did not complete their part of contract- they made a lot of mistakes preparing our taxes and did not negotiate our debt with IRS. They closed our case due to “missing documentation “, but they never told us what documentation they needed from us. We provided everything they asked for. They refused to return our money for the services they did not provide. According to their contract, they cannot be sued in court. You can bring your case to an arbitrator, but it will mean another $3,000. Star E, their Executive Relations Specialist, is very rude and intimidating. Very greedy, unprofessional and irresponsible company.

I called Optima for help. I am already dealing with Phoenix Financial who charge we up front for the service and they tried to charge me additional $900 for services. The representative just "well I cant help you. You are already dealing with someone else". I had already spoken to 2 other companies who didn't see that as a problem and said I would just have to forfeit my poa. It wasn't only his choice words it's how he said it. Most people that call in like myself are in a terrible situation, stressed out, and in need of help. Good thing I didn't contact them first because them I would have felt like there was no way out.

I filed a complaint once before against Optima. At that time Optima contacted me and asked me to drop my complaint and if I did they would continue working with me. So I decided to drop my complaint at that time and give Optima another chance. Since then Optima has done nothing to help me you can never get in contact with the person that you’re originally supposed to speak with. They’re not good at returning emails or calls when you have an appointment. They make promises they can’t keep. They tell you one thing and then do another. My husband and I have been working with Optima for over three years and still no resolution has been made. They only keep making excuses and asking for the same documents over and over to stall for time. They cannot give you clear answers to questions, they are very vague and generic with their answers. They constantly reassign caseworkers (again another stall tactic). Over three years ago my husband and I paid Optima I believe over $5000 to help us settle our debt with the IRS however over three years later nothing has been resolved or near resolution. They IRS is garnishing my Social Security and when we signed on and paid Optima they told us that we would be protected from any garnishment of wages as well as our bank account getting garnished or frozen, however now they are giving us a different answer & stating that’s not the case. I asked them what we paid them for? We were told we were in negotiations with the IRS and during that time we were protected from wage & bank account garnishments. We have jumped through all the hoops and sent them all the documents required every month it’s something different and after three years later we are still at square one and they still have the same vague generic excuses.They take peoples money and make promises they have no intention of keeping. Once they get all your money they then drop the ball. Then all of a sudden they are overload and they don’t always have time as they say to contact you or call you back. The only time they call you back is if you threaten to take them to the Better Business Bureau which is what I’m doing. After three years of working with them they still say we are in the review stages when I ask how long that takes they don’t give me a honest clear answer. They make excuses and use stall tactics as long as they can.
This company is a scam and anyone that endorses them should seriously look into them before they continue to endorse them.

I called this evening 4/24/2019, and got Steve. I asked questions like what is involved in the investigation. Steve was not specific and didn’t like that I continued to ask questions. I even asked if a Tax Accountant, CPA or attorney would be representing me and he never gave me an answer. He didn’t like that I told him that I have a Masters degree. As soon as he heard that he said I don’t think we’ll be able to help you. Who in their right mind would hire a company like this?? They want your money upfront but don’t want you to ask questions!!! Not a good business practice. This company is more self serving that customer oriented.

If I could give Optima no stars. Same thing as previously stated with the bombardment of radio advertisements this company is only interested in lining their own pockets. Stay away. After consulting and you're already emotional over your situation, they charged me $495 for IRS and $495 for FTB just for Power of Attorney. You upload documents and you sign documents electronically, not seeing exactly what you are signing. When you learn that they want $16,100 to represent you and settle your tax issues, if you cannot afford to pay them, they have a phone interview to discuss options. I told them if I had $16,100 most of my tax issues would have been resolved by paying on my tax debt. I stalled with the interview because I wanted a second opinion. I called Tax Tiger. They are transparent (and local) and immediately got the FTB to take off the levy so I could pay my mortgage. I have filed a Complaint with the BBB. They do not perform the services they offer or they are evasive. I am requesting a refund of $990 for what I should never have paid in the first place. I recommend before you get hooked, get a 2nd or even a 3rd opinion.

I signed up for help with my back taxes in June 2018. I will start by saying no one guaranteed me any savings.
But it starts with you giving them all your information. They knew how much money I make what I owed the IRS and they are supposed to know what the IRS rules are. I paid $700 for this review.
I was then told it would be another $4000 for them to "Negotiate" with the IRS to settle my debt. I was hesitant but ended up deciding to pay the money for the service. My final out come was NO settlement just a payment plan and making the payment plan doesn't even stop interest or fees from accruing.
I was told today that yes I paid $4000 for them to set up a payment plan for me. But I was protected during this time.
Really if I would have just paid the IRS the $4000 I would have been protected and owed less!!!
I was told today it turns out I make too much money for any reduction from the IRS. Which really sucks because Optima has had my paycheck since day one. They knew the day they took my money they couldn't help with the balance yet they lead me to believe they were trying.
After all the working with them I just feel like an idiot for going down this path. I would recommend to everyone to work with the IRS or the IRS collection agency directly and not waste your time with this firm. I am in a worse place now March 2019 after working with this company then I was in June of 2018 with $4700.
I can only guess if you don't have a job or very low income they can help you. But then where would you get the $4700 to pay them.

I'd heard and read good things about Optima, but was very disappointed with my experience. I had been laid off from my job in 2013 and was out of work for over a year (I also had to file bankruptcy as a result). I had to use my 401 k to live and was reluctant to file after that, as I thought it might 'flag' my account with the IRS. When I got the inevitable letter from the IRS, they wanted $45K, just for 2013. I called Optima, and immediately it seemed too 'sales pitchy' to me. I paid the $495 to start the 'investigation', and heard nothing for 2 months. I had the 'resolution' call and they wanted $10K to continue working on my case. No word on what the resolution would actually be, only that I now owed $91K for not filing since 2013 (I make a modest wage). I heard about a loan to pay the $10K, but nothing about the IRS. I have no savings, no 401K, old car, and I rent. In a way, I'm glad they wanted the $10K , as it made my decision a lot easier.

WARNING, DO NOT !!!!! Scam artists. They require $550 to start their investigation, then will require an additional $4000 after you get signed up. I asked for a refund bc the agent told me that he was unable to review my file bc there was a gov’t shut down! So how can you tell me that it’s $4K without reviewing my file then?! I would have more respect if they just said it’s $4500 up front! Additionally, they did not provide me with a plan of attack or any assurance that their services are even worth the additional $4k. I get it if you can’t gaurantee any results but then the resolution conference is all a lie if you never reviewed the file and don’t have a plan of attack! I received a partial refund of $150 of the initial $550 and they did NOT perform any services. SCAM. I recommend sitting face to face w a certified tax lawyer and not these clowns!

MY PAPERWORK IS ON THE DESK OF ANOTHER SO CALLED AGENT & THAT HE WOULD BE IN CONTACT WITH ME. NEVER RECIEVED A CALL AGAIN FROM THEM. TRUST ME, LEAVE OPTIMA TAX RELIEF & ALL OF THEM ALONE... I'm here to advise anyone who believes they need to use Optima, don't! Go to an experienced tax attorney. Optima will take your money (thousands) and do absolutely nothing. My wife and I used them approximately 4 years ago....they lost our documents a number of times, was given to different agents over 4 times (who each didn't know our case and asked for additional documents which we provided) which was terrible. In the end we paid them over $6,000 and they did nothing!
Optima promised us they'd help....I know they say "we don't make promises" but they did and screwed us! I talked my wife into using them....I so regret it. Please do Not use them, don't! I will swear on an affidavit that All is true and correct.

Don't fall for this. These "experts" are not experts at all. When their investigation team reported to me, "The IRS says all your business taxes are filed and up to date," I insisted I knew that was not true, the salesman's response? "(Chuckle) well, then, were just not going to talk about that because the IRS says they are." Then, when I explained that to the "resolution expert," her response was, "call your accountant." When I tried to get my money back because they refused to follow through, they wanted to give a very small portion of what I paid back to me, but insisted I sign a paper saying I would tell NO ONE what they had done. Don't see negative reviews? Desperate people have to agree to keep their mouths shut to get ANY of their money back. In the end, the person who wanted me to sign told me I must be confused about my business and personal taxes. I'm not confused.

This company took so much of my money and time for no end in sight. I was constantly photo copying and sending the same info and paper work over and over. In the end I gave up after a year+ of no outcome. They also state they protect you from the irs while under there investigation! Lie!!!! My accounts were emptied while I was working with them by the irs. I got no refund from them or help with my debt. I was running circles for nothing. When all was said and done it cost well over $10,000 for them to do nothing but make me send them the same papers 400 times. I should have been being paid for the work I put in. It was damn near impossible to get your case worker on the phone and it was never the same person.

This company fired my original rep due to inability to perform to the standards of the position. They never assigned me another worker. When I received the initial review, that I paid $500 for, there was no information regarding the money already paid to the IRS (this part was blank), no information at all regarding state taxes (that portion also was just blank), and no information as to what will be the next steps in the process. They just expect you to keep paying and paying without any information. Please, learn from my mistake and find a rep that will lay out the steps and the costs up front. Do no waste your money here!

It has been nearly two years since a family member first signed up with Optima. The net results at this point in time are:
- No relief or viable solution offered
- Ongoing requests to update information (continually provided)
- IRS has levied a tax lien on her house
- Her credit rating has been destroyed (she maxed out her credit cards to pay up front fees to Optima
- IRS tax burden has INCREASED due to ongoing late fees and interest while nothing gets resolved
I contacted the leadership of Optima on her behalf to request a review and help. None of the four officers has ever responded; instead, her case worker has returned the communications, but offered nothing new.
If she had know six months into the process that her case was weak, she may have been able to settle with the IRS at that time with family support. Instead she has a higher debt, an IRS lien, destroyed credit rating. All the above is in stark contrast to how Optima promotes their capabilities.

Optima tax relief is advertised heavily on the radio and I made the mistake of calling them to help with a tax situation I was facing. I was called repeatedly by a sales person who made many false statements regarding what he would be able to do. I assured him I caould liquidate a 401k and life insurance to pay the debt if needed, but he urged me to pay 2500 to hav them investigate. I reluctantly agreed and let them determine what they could do.
The investigation indicated that they would be able to help me reduce what was owed. He asked for an additional sum of thousands of dollars to go to the resolution phase. I was skeptical that they would be able to help that much and asked if I would be better to just use those dollars to pay down the debt. He assurend me they are the very best at what they do and would be able to make it well worth the investment.
After years of paperwork, the final resolution was much higher than what I owed when we started due to the delay in working with them. They tried to strongarm me in to removing honest reviews byt halting the process, but ultimately all they did was fill out a few forms. There is very little value in the company and anyone would be better advised to go with a local accountant.

My gut told me not to trust this company, especially when my,"So called" account professional was reading from a script. Sounds like a telemarketing firm. They record questions with vague answers and only want your initial $1000.00. They lied about money owed to the IRS to increase there commission. BEWARE!!! They also have an employee, Leo Leon, Executive Relations Specialist, who's sole job is to handle charge backs. Tax resolution does not have to cost this much. Sad, when a companies sole purpose is to rip people off and gain financially from people in need. Call any honest accountant and ask for the truth.
