Been calling , emailing for over two weeks to get the wifi hooked up. Been 2 months now and I don't think the array is working. It is July, august and Electric bill is $10 lower than June. Only thing I get from phone calls is, " I will put a message through." They are sure there when money is due. Don't pay them till you see production from the array and everything is working.

I have had a great experience with Oak Electric, a SunPower dealer in Michigan, but when I contacted SunPower directly about an issue related to a severely delayed installation of batteries due to unavailability of software, customer service at SunPower has been HORRIBLE. After following up with me initially by email and phone, SunPower has gone dark. They simply don’t or won’t respond to any of my follow ups to make contact. This has been going on for multiple weeks. Out of frustration I’m leaving this review.

between Sunpower and the Installer they referred Thompson and Son Energy, it has been an expensive disaster. I have been without solar working properly for over 8 months. lack of properly prepared installers to fix, Sunpower computer not working, lack of communication with all parties. electric bills now over $400 a month when they use to be under $200.

Really bad experience dealing with the customer service. 3 months gone by and problem is still not resolving. No solar running. on top of that, scheduling team wasted another 3 weeks. no calls to follow up for next repair visit. this top level management of the customer service shouldn't be there working for Sunpower. bunch of unskilled people and don't care attitude.

SunRun Refused Me A Solar System Los Angeles, CA

I was at “Costco” one day, and a salesman asked me if I wanted a Solar System. I explained to Tony that I had “Peterson Dean” install a solar system about 5 year’s ago, but I’d like the have 5 Additional Solar Panel’s Added Onto My Existing System. Tony explained that SunRun cannot do this, that they can only install brand new solar panel systems. I also explained that I was interested in a Battery Backup System. He apologized but said that he wasn’t able to help me.

Have a lease with them. Have to have autopay setup. My bank was going out of business emailed and called in multiple time to change checking account info. They keep telling me they added count but their system defaults to old closed account. Then they mail me past due and late fee notices. I called one rep last month she said she will remove the late fee. Couple of weeks go by nothing. After that when I call them they tell me it’s my fault. I did everything I could of my end. They don’t care about lease customers stay away!!!!

Solar power was installed in March 2022. Took Dept. of Water and Power to install meters until May 9, 2022. Have called, emailed, left messages countless times and system still is not online. The communication is non-existent. Even if they eventually respond it is with vague promises. We chose SunPower because of its customer service. But it is clear that someone is giving fake reviews. Avoid at all costs.

I've had these solar panels for 5 years. They are great. The customer service is horrible. I added new panels in March and they installed a new monitor at the same time. It has not worked since. I've called repeatedly, they claimed they didn't need to come out and replace it, they only needed to work on the code. They won't let me talk to the person assigned to my case, and despite repeated phone calls and "escalations" they are now saying it might be resolved by mid-June! Beware of this company because if anything goes wrong, you'll spend a lot a time and effort getting it resolved.

I had 35 panels installed to cover 100 of Kwh per their design. The panels face south and 12 face south east. Research shows that each panal should produce 2 Khw per sunny day . It's actually less than one. I've been talking to Sun power but they claim they all work fine there for will not send out a tech to verify this on site. There is no shade on the roof from trees. Not to get too verbal VERY DISATISFIED WITH SUN POWER AND *** ENERGY PAL.

I was quoted 3 different prices for the same system with a price difference of over $15,000. When I asked how come the same system had a different cost, I was told that it varies depending on term of loan. The bigger joke is that they advertise their loans at 0% when they are baking in their fees and interest in the principal! When I cornered the salesperson about it, his justification was, all solar companies do that... Beware of this company practices and if you don't understand how a loan should work, consult someone who does before accepting any contracts from this company.

6 of the solar panels failed completely within the first few years. Everybody thinks they are great at first, because at first the panels are probably working. Do you see reviews on here ravinbg about this company after 5 years? Uh..no? Probably not, due to their lousy products for solar energy production failing after a few years and after they have all of your money. Avoid SunPower and find a company with reviews from customers who still have working panels after 5 years..

system installed about 10 years ago. Installing dealer is out of business. called Sunpower for support, after 10 days of calling and getting the run around they gave me a reference number with a promise of 48 hour resolution. four days later , no resolution, no call. called them again and now I'm told my system is out of warranty, the 25 year warranty is a lie. Do not buy from these jerks.

We bought Sunpower through Baker Solar Electeic. Besides the fact that it took Sunpower 8 months to fully repair our system when a defective panel broke, we discovered the upper row of panels shades the lower row of panels. Neither Baker nor Sunpower stands by the warranty to correct the ridiculously poor workmanship.

Be careful before you take any decision. I have in my house and I am paying every month but I am not getting any credit of solar on my electric bill. I called so many times to sunpower the CUSTOMER SERVICE is very very poor and they are very rude. They didn't resolve my problem and I am still struggling. BE CAREFUL BEFORE YOU TAKING ANY DECISION. this is the most worst company I ever saw.

I entered into a contract with SunPower through Better Solar Solutions in early July. I was told it would take 4 to 6 weeks to complete the project. The salesman convinced me that I should do the project in 2020 so that I could get the current tax credit. It is now the end of 2020 and the project is still not complete. I would not recommend using the company without a guarantee on timing. I am beyond disappointed with the execution of my project!

Have heard of sunpower faulty microinverters? Sunpower installed me faulty microinverters back in 2016 and did not inform me about the issue until several years passed by. Yes, they replaced the faulty inverters after i complained for paying high trueups several years. They offered me some $198 compensation for the days of loosing the production. That is rather an insult for me knowing they sold me faulty product. So watchout for sunpower.

This is my second house with Sunpower. They used to be great. Now calls go through a foreign call center and repair work is subcontracted. But their original installer can't get their attention either. The microinverters in my 4 year old panels failed in early April. They sent a crew in late May but that crew said they's have to send a different crew with different tools. Now I leave voicemail messages and get the same response: they will contact me when they are ready. Something terrible happened to a formerly good company and I'm ready to go to court.

My solar system has been installed for 9 years; it included SunPower Panels organized into two sections, each of which is connected to a SunPower Labeled Inverter. The panels have worked well so far, but both Inverters have died. SunPower has declined to honor their warranty. A review of the Better Business Site indicates the SunPower Warranty is not worth much because they have a variety of ways to avoid honoring it. Delaying their response is a common one. Their panels are good. Their business ethics leave a lot to be desired.

Piece of crap company. Once getting my load controller installed I had to turn it on and off to be able to have my dryer work. This was before the system was activated. Then I had to turn the controller off to have heat, hot water, dryer, stove working in my house. I had to pay for an internet upgrade and now having to look into pest control issues with pigeons and mites because the company wants me to now pay for bird netting through them or I void my warranty.

Horrible commitment to customers. Purchased my system as a part of my new home in 2008. 25 year warranty! EXCEPT that the inverter (which I now find out has a 10 year warranty) failed this year and the entire system is now useless. There is no replacement for the inverter and I can not get SunPower to give me any help at all in finding a solution. In fact, I find that SunPower has closed my case filed with them both without advising me and giving me an alternative solution. Customer service is non existent on an over $20K investment which is now totally worthless.

The panels are great, as was the installer, Blue Selenium on Cape Cod. The customer service from Sunpower, however, stinks. Two microinverters went down in August. Three months later, and numerous requests later, I still do not have a date when they will be fixed. Customer service is 0 stars, performance of the panels is great when they work.

Our solar has been down going on two months. we've been told by the contractor that Sunpower would be contacting us directly to send a person out figure out why the system is not producing. That was two weeks ago. After one week of not hearing from them, I called them. I was told I would be receiving a call and now its been two weeks and still nothing. I am now paying for a system that doesn't work and also a PG&E bill.

System worked for 5 months then went down. It's now 3+ months later and the system still isn't working. And after MULTIPLE trips by SunPower they still have no idea what's wrong or how to fix it. Customer support is pretty much useless and the field technicians sent out have no idea what they're doing. I would never, ever recommend SunPower to anyone.

The guy who contacted me evidently looked at older aerial photos of my house and informed me that there were trees which would need to be removed, so my house was not a good candidate for solar. I emailed him back and told him that the trees have already been removed and my roof gets lots of sun. He did not bother to reply. I am very disappointed with this company and its representative.

There customer service number is a answering machine . they never call back.Have to chat online when you can get a hold of them . There monitoring system is terrible it goes off line .ITS been 3 week had a day for them to show up and they did not show up not even a call .So now i'm back to the chat and have to wait another 48 hours but they won't call me all ready tried this step.So if your looking for good customer service this is the wrong place.If you don't believe me try calling there customer service number or go online and try to chat with somebody good luck.

We are about halfway through our lease. Our system is not producing anywhere near what SunPower guarantees it will produce and our utility bills are through the roof. We want an in person check of the system and panels, which the company would never give us when we requested this in the past. I am trying to get in touch with the rep who was very helpful four years ago, but my email was returned. Your sales person did reasonable job He took a little too long to get back to us and interest had cooled off. The price is too high and payback is impossible. It looks like your price would have been OK BUT looks like you added the rebate on your price voiding any help it would have been!

I was told by the sales rep that i would not be paying much to pse&g but that's not true i told the rep and showed him the bill how high it was and told him are we going to have enough panel to help with that he said yes but know they saying i use more than what it produces. why didn't he put enough solar panels to help the dont listen and promise a lot. then they say refferal program of 500 i did and not even that

Although the process took longer than I hoped due to township inspectors etc. the system is running great and their customer service people are wonderful.

While solar power is a great idea, the solar companies are incredibly misleading and greedy. I was promised my average yearly electric would be lower but instead I have four months out of the year that are any savings at all, the rest of the year my electric bill almost doubles. And there is no way out of this contract, so I'm stuck with a solar bill that goes up every year on top of my electric bill.

I have converter failed, call the company they can’t give me the date because it on back order. I call Baker electronic get the same answer. I read the contract, all it mention is “if something goes wrong the solar can’t give out the amount they promise then they will give you 15 cents per KLW that they under produce. SDGE charge me wayyyy more than 15 cents. I will continue to wait until they give me new converter. Now I have two Bill to pay. One from SDGE $400 and the other one from the solar company $254. I am on my two month waiting for them to replace my converter.
